That's why he could KILL Thornhill. Because I didnt understand how he got to kill his master. Thornhill was very sure of Tyler's impossibilities.
When they first reunited, Tyler tried to snap her neck, but she ordered him to let her go and he did. If we think rationally, he could never have another chance like that. If he had wanted to kill her, he would have done. So she still had some kind of power over him.
BUT when she goes to release Tyler, he starts to toy her and threatens her, she gets terrified and she tries to manipulate him again against Wednesday and implies she is the real enemy and he needs to take her out. THAT'S WHEN HE IS TRIGGERED AND DECIDES TO KILL HER.
When his mom betrays him, he immediately turns on her too. Hunter said Tyler fought with his mother because of Wednesday. Ok, he would never kill his mom, but he attacked her!
That's why Hydes are unpredictable and volatile: they can turn on their master because of their object of love. BECAUSE THEY FEEL CONFLICTED! ITyler disobeyed Thornhill when he didn't kill Eugene.
