Oh, it's so perfect outside right now. Egg shaped moon, cool breeze thick with spring and the day's warmth.

Been a while...

But there are some things on my mind...

- my great job

- dying my hair purple - am I too old?

- new shoes and hopes for a new wardrobe

- running with Ruby was actually fun - first time in my life I enjoyed running!

Sometimes you accuse me of being a push over with Ruby and letting her walk all over me.  I disagree.  This post on FB is a good illustration of my philosophy:

I wish I was able to practice "gentleness" more often.  I feel strongly about treating my kids with respect.  I wasn't when I was a kid and I remember how angry I would feel toward my parents.  I think it is ok for the kids to be angry at me and express their feelings of anger toward me.  Sometimes is shows me that I do have appropriate boundaries and rules in place.  Sometimes it shows me that I'm being an asshole to them.  And other times they're just tired or hungry.

Visited Whitaker Ponds with my son’s class. Early spring, blooming currant, egrets, trillium, trees , owl pellets, exploring and experiencing nature.

Flowering tree on the soccer pitch.  I thought this was a quince tree, but now I'm not so sure...  I think is actually a Kwanzan Cherry.  Its beautiful at any rate, as the first blooms of the season always are.

Spring, Spring, Spring! My absolute favorite time of year (until fall rolls around). So happy and hopeful and beautiful! I love watching the buds thicken every day and then oh so slowly start blazing with with color. The trees. The bushes. The bulbs. The rain that highlights all the color. It's like fairies fly thru every morning and sprinkle a little more magic.
