I work a lot of shows…it’s my life, my hobby, without it I’m not really sure what I would do. I take a lot of what I get to see and do for granted, and its easy to get jaded when the extraordinary becomes the norm. However, there is something that will never change for me: how vicious and cruel...
This map shows each which artist enjoys the most outsized support in each state.
What is your states favorite artist? Do you agree?
Last year, music supervisor and Head of Sync at Crush Management, Jackie Shuman, shared her "V-Day Playlist That Doesn't Suck" with us. 2014 is a new year and with that comes new dreams, hopes, and MUSIC! You've opened your presents and maybe some champagne...time to open your ears to Jackie's playlist of New Tunes for the New Year:  St. Lucia - "Elevate": This is easily one of the best and most uplifting songs of 2013. I see good things coming for these South African geniuses in the new year! John Newman - "Love Me Again": I'm always curious to hear what's charting in other countries.  My subscription to Billboard magazine helps out a lot with this. I read about John's UK success in a recent issue and his EP blew me away.  He's touring soon with a female artist we manage who is equally awesome, LOLO. Charlie XCX - "You - Ha Ha Ha": My colleague David listens to Charlie XCX regularly in the office. I couldn't resist the addicting sample throughout the ...

Alternate title: 39 Bands You Didnt Realize AP Covered This Year (Because You Were Too Busy Bitching About Ronnie Radke And Kellin Quinn To Notice)
Say what you want about AP...these bands are the up and comers for the year, and you'll only hear more about them in 2014. Check 'em out, like some new music and rock on!
Merry Christmas everyone! Hopes to great music and fresh beats for the New Year!
DC lost and icon and an inspiration to many people today. RIP Josh Burdette. This is some of the saddest news I could have woken up to. All I know is that working at Merriweather and going to shows at 930 will never be the same.
Famed fixture of DC venue for last 15 years, dead at 35.
For bands in the local MD area who are looking for a gig!
Sublime With Rome have just been announced as part of the lineup for Riot Fest in Chicago on September 13th through 15th. They’ll be joining our friends in Fall Out Boy, blink-182, All Time Low, Yellowcard, Say Anything and many more. You can find more information at riotfest.org.
What summer festivals are you going to this year?
When I was a little boy, just learning to talk and still figuring out the intricacies of the English language, I would caution others to “be carefully”. Little kids say the funniest things, and they say these things with the sincerity and urgency of those whose possess an extremely limited...

How do you feel about ticket scalpers?
What are your pet peeves as a(n) performer/artist?
I mean they film the whole show on their phone. They never put it in their pocket. They never look at the band. They never watch the show with their eyes. They watch it with the lens of their phone and I think that’s really sad. It’s not gonna get better. It’s gonna get worse. It’s one of those things you have to deal with as a performer looking out there and realizing that’s a show-goer in 2012.

Now Playing: Transitions Ep
Their t-shirts boast "Maryland Pop Punk" and A Place In Time (APIT) delivers just that on their new ep, Transitions. Full of infectious guitar hooks and catchy melodies, Transitions is a fast paced whirlwind true to the pop punk formula. This recent installment to their previous ep, Take This to Heart, is sure to keep fans and new listeners wanting more.
The ep opens with the eclectic chord changing track "The Mindset". This track is a short one that starts with fast tempo drums and individually adds the guitars and bass which eventually flow into dual vocals conversing about the scene today. As my personal favorite, "The Mindset" sets the tone for the ep and is a strong opening track. Similar in lyrical content, "Don't Get Your Feelings Hurt" follows the opening track with an upbeat and fast paced feel. The gang vocals add to the edginess of the track and the catchy chorus is reminiscent of a New Found Glory song. This track also nicely showcases the clarity between the bass and drums.
"Dreamcatcher" is equally poppy as it is punk. Melodious guitars give a danceable beat while the backbone is full of energy. The bridge proves an excellent display of the band's instrumentation and adds character to the track. However, no track exudes more character than "Three or Four Words". The vocals of this track effectively capture the emotions behind the story being told. A skillful guitar solo changing into an acoustic guitar melody adds nice variety to the overall sound. The drums at the end of this track segue nicely into the relateable title track, "Transitions". This track adequately ties together all the elements of the album and supplies a cohesiveness to the ep.
Transitions stays true to the band's pop punk form, but also marks a growth compared to past eps. Sure to please their current fans and gain them new ones, Transitions is a solid effort by A Place In Time.
