You have had feelings for your best friend for years now. You would never do anything to jeopardize your friendship, so you loved him in secret, being the very best friend during the day and yearning for him at night. When you saw the trend of kissing your best friend to see their reaction prank you knew this was your chance to see if he likes you, and if he doesn’t, you can just blame what happened on the prank.
You asked him to do a video with you; it wasn’t uncommon for you to ask, so he happily agreed. You set up the camera on the table, then the two of you sat down in view. You tell him the trend is a best friend handshake, so the two of you create one real quick, and when you have it mastered, you press record. Your stomach has millions of butterflies in it as the two of you do the drawn-out handshake. He is smiling, focusing on your hands, so he doesn’t see how you are biting your lip nervously.
When the handshake is done, he looks up at you, smiling big. You don’t hesitate, fearing that if you do, then you will back up and lean over pressing your lips to his, hands still intertwined from the handshake. His eyes go wide, surprised. His heart rate picks up as his cheeks get a pink tint them. He doesn’t kiss you back, so you go to pull away, the rejection stinging you. When you move, his brain kicks starts that he hasn’t done anything and leans forward, recapturing your lips with his.
The rejection fades while warmth blooms in your chest. Izuku moves his hands to cup your face. He deepens the kiss, caught up in the moment. His thumb strokes your cheek while you move your hands to rest on his knees. When the two of you break apart, he has a sweet smile on his face. He keeps his hands on your face, still stroking your cheek. You shyly look down, but a smile is planted on your face. Izuku makes you look back up at him, and he says softly. “If I would of known you liked me, I would have done that a long time ago.” He goes to kiss you again while you reach for your phone to stop recording, not breaking the kiss, and knowing you will be able to treasure this moment forever.
Even being his best friend, Shoto was still hard to read with his emotions. If he didn’t want you to know what he was thinking or feeling, he could poker face through anything. You wanted to tell him, wanted to bring up that you haven’t seen him as only a friend for a while, but you were nervous to break the connection the two of you already had. When you saw the trend on TikTok, you knew this would be a good opportunity to show him without messing anything up.
Shoto normally doesn’t do any videos for you. He is a little camera-shy and barely goes on social media at all. Because of this, you normally don’t ask him at all, so he was surprised when you walked up with your tripod for your phone, a small smile on your face, asking him to do a trend with you. Wanting to spend time with you and not wanting to disappoint you, he agrees- as long as there is no dancing involved. You laugh, telling him that he is safe, and go to set up the camera.
You tell him to just follow your lead as the two of you stand in front of the camera facing each other. You raise your arms up and he does the same thing, you clap his hands, and then swing your arms down. He swings his arms down, and then you grab them, intertwining your fingers with his, and then press your lips to his before you can talk yourself out of it. Shoto freezes for a moment and pulls away. You mentally start kicking yourself, saying that you are stupid.
“Is this a part of the video?” Shoto asks you. You pull your hands away and shake your head no, already turning away so you can grab your phone and go hide away somewhere. You don’t get far as he grabs your hand and pulls you back to him, having him flush against you and his arm going across your back to hold you in place. You look up at him wide-eyed as he searches your face, for what you have no idea. He leans back down and kisses you. The one hand that isn’t holding him from when he grabs you immediately goes up to his face. When he pulls apart, he presses his forehead against you, breathing slightly heavy. He speaks low, “If you wanted to kiss me, you didn’t need to make up an excuse to.”
Your sweet red-headed boy. How nobody can look at him and not fall in love is beyond you, and you love your friendship with him. He did all the viral trends with you, always made sure you were happy, and the two of you were there for each other no matter what. When you saw the kissing best friend trend, you thought it would be the perfect way to finally confess to your best friend that you like him more than friends.
He was ecstatic to do another video with you. He has done food challenges, dance trends, and even a prank war for your account, so he had no problem doing another thing. You showed him the dance, practiced, and once the two of you had it perfect. You set up your phone and then hit record.
After every video the two of you do together, you always high-five each other, so after the dance and the two of you face each other to high-five, you grip his hand when it makes contact with yours. His eyes go wide as you lean in and press your lips to his, but his reaction is automatic. Immediately closing his eyes and kissing you back, his hands now going to your waist while yours go to his chest. He deepens the kiss, not caring if anyone comes around. He has been wanting this for ages.
When you pull away, a smile is on your face as you take in his. His eyes are bright, his cheeks are dusted pink, and his smile is beaming. It was the same smile you fell in love with. “I like you a lot, Kiri.” You whisper to him, looking into his red eyes. He leans close and gives you gentle Eskimo kisses, rubbing his nose against yours. “I love you.” He says instead. “I have for a long time.”
You have been trying to figure out what to tell Katsuki for months. You think he feels the same way about you that you do about him, but in case you are wrong, you don’t want to ruin the friendship you have with him. You have run through scenarios of just bluntly saying it, writing a letter, approaching the topic gently, and many other ideas that you end up scratching out.
When you saw the trend, you knew this was how you wanted to do it. When you grab your phone and tripod, you head to where Katsuki is sitting in the common room. He is playing on his phone, but looks up when you enter. You start setting up your tripod in front of him, and he sucks his teeth. “I'm not doing a stupid video.” He grumbles. You laugh. “You don’t have to do anything, Kats, you can stay right there.” He is confused about what video idea you had that would let him do literally nothing, but he doesn’t question it.
You go to sit beside him, and he locks his phone and turns to you. It was one of the small things that made you fall for him. Whenever you were around or talking to him, he would lock his phone and put it away- letting you have full captivated attention. “What’s this dumb video you're doing?” He asks, but instead of answering him, you lean forward and press your lips to his. His eyes go wide, and an instant reaction kicks in, shoving you off. “The hell?” He quips out, his voice a little higher than normal.
Getting the message loud and clear, you get up to get your phone. “What the hell was that? Oi! I’m talking to you!” He yells, getting up to go after you. You just want to hide. Katsuki is stubborn, though. In the hallway, he grabs you and pushes you up against the wall, trapping you in with his arms on either side. “What the hell was that?” He questions you again, forcing you to look at him. You sigh. “It was just a dumb video, Kats, it was stupid.” He glares at you. “It doesn’t seem stupid for you to react like this.” You don’t answer him, just forcing your gaze to anything other than his face.
He grips your cheeks with one hand, making your eyes go back to him. He leans down and kisses you again. It wasn’t a sweet, gentle kiss. It was rough, desperate. It was like he was trying to pour everything he wanted to say into it. When he pulls away, still having you trapped against him, he roughly gets out. “You shocked me, is all, but you’re mine now- officially.”
