I'm reworking the zip-off goth jorts right now, reconstructing the whole thing from ground up without any care for how it was arranged before I took it apart. So in case anyone's wondering what the hell the goth jorts are, they're my project where I turned a pair of black jeans into zip-off jorts, where the leg parts are attached mainly with a harness-like system with chain and buckles and stuff. So I when I zip the leg parts off and unattach the harness (which is tied to my belt up at the top), they'll just be regular black jean shorts.

I have also illustrated the potential secret, forbidden third technique: Pant legs and belt, no pants.

Therefore that would skew the height differences a bit as well?

At least, that’s what it looks like to me, given how Reimu is positioned.

Reimu is effectively sitting/leaning against the base of her torii by the Hakurei Shrine, so yes, she does look shorter than she is, but not by much, Notice her leg position: She is not fully seated and more like leaning, so standing fully upright, she still would lose to Eiki by about a head of height.

But you are right in that the height difference isn’t exactly what is shown in the screenie due to this, yes.

half-seated Reimu here is similar to the height difference of Reimu in Komachi's boat during Horned Hermit, too. Titanic has fairly high seats for a boat of its kind (I've rowed many) so that makes sense. It's also about right for the relative heights of Komachi and Reimu in SWR/Soku. End of story, Eiki is not short. Bonus round, apparently a kneeling Reimu is about as tall as Komachi's dress is poofy (discovered from me not being very good at playing Komachi in 'soku; I mostly grab Youmu, Suika, or Patchie)
