Hi, my name is Ace (they/them) & this is my Daredevil sideblog!

My main is Ace-Renegade which is primarily focused on Doctor Who stuff but right now I’m mainly over here tbh because Daredevil has taken over my brain and refuses to leave me alone. I love Daredevil (the show and the comics) & I also like Spider-Man so I might also occasionally talk about him on here too.

This is mainly where I dump my silly story ideas and headcanons. I’m just here to have fun!

Spider-Man BND spoilers!!

Soooo… since we know that Claire Temple’s cameo scene at the hospital was cut from Spider-Man Brand New Day, I have two thoughts:

1: for the love of god Marvel, please release the Claire cut and my life will be yours, she’s an icon and I miss her, I need to see her again

2: has anyone written the fic to put her back in the movie yet? I would read the shit out of that

A song that I’m surprised hasn’t been in a Daredevil edit yet because would work so insanely well is “All Rise” by Blue” like come onnn he’s a lawyer it makes so much senseee can anyone hear me, pls tell me I’m not the only one

The verse that starts with “you’re on the stand, with your back against the wall” would go so well over Matt revealing himself in court to take down the Kingpin, hello?

Okay so because of the mouse infestation situation we decided to have a major tidy up and clear out a load of old stuff and that involved going through my parents’ old CDs and DVDs and guess what I found??An old pirated copy of the 2003 Daredevil movie!

Now, I have not seen the movie yet and I could just like, watch it on Disney+ but I kinda wanna see if the disc works and if it does I low key want to watch it, I feel like it’ll make the experience feel more authentically like 2003 somehow idk

So my parents have a bit of a mouse problem in their house m and none of the traps have worked so far, I’m starting to wish I could borrow Matt Murdock’s superpowers to locate the mice for them. Like, it probably sucks a lot that he can hear and smell every single rodent in NYC but it would be soooo useful if you had an infestation to pinpoint exactly where they are

So the mouse just appeared again, we managed to corner it and chase it down the hole where it was coming from and we’ve blocked the hole, will have to see it it comes back again later

so embarrassing to watch yourself become obsessed with a character that feels tailor made for you specifically to become obsessed with. feels like i fell into a trap made just for me. like damn they got me. those are all the things i like and go crazy for

While it’s certainly possible to deliver good senses writing while sidestepping much of the blindness angle - just as it’s possible to combine lackluster senses writing with an ambitious approach to presenting the character as still being blind - I’ve found that the two tend to go together. If you’re going to really get inside Daredevil’s head from the standpoint of what he is able to perceive of his surroundings, it helps to have a good grasp of what information he would be missing and what information from his other, heightened senses might conceivably help close the gap. -The 40+ ways Daredevil: Born Again reminds you that Matt is blind (for real)
