I’m finally watching the first episode of season 3 of Euphoria and these are my thoughts:
• Rue wtf
• do they actually swallow all those baggies of drugs??? I’m concerned
• Faye still being here is insane lol
• Fez is doing 30 😭 I should’ve been his lawyer. He didn’t kill anyone! It was Ashtray he was just protecting his brother.
• Cassie being in a right wing suburbia is on brand for that actress
• Nate driving a cyber truck was a jump scare
• I get why Cassie is still with Nate. She lost all her friends and dignity being with him in high school. But why is Nate still with her now? He could’ve met someone better than her in college? Or did he skip college cause he just took over his dad’s company?
• All Rue had to do was go to the bathroom. But no. Honestly, she should’ve just left and peed on the side of the road.
• Cassie is so manipulative. Doing all that for “$50,000 worth of flowers.” The fact that she has me agreeing with Nate… Nate. Like we have lost the plot.
• At this point I’m just watching it to finish was I started (only started for Zendaya) but this was kinda boring.
Was actively working at my job (super rare btw) so I did t find out until now there was a trailer for Euphoria season 3 out. Just watched it and trying not to ball my eyes out that Angus isn’t there. He would’ve been so good in that shit show 😭
Author's Note: I wrote this like 2 days after I saw Wicked: For Good lol I just needed to write my grievances with people's WRONG opinions.
You'd been waiting for this night for over a year! Wicked: For Good was finally out and you were about to make it everyone's problem. Mostly Fez's.
"Babe, come on, you know I hate missing the previews."
"The movie doesn't start for another 30 minutes. We're fine, ma."
Did Fez care about Wicked? Not at all. Did he care about you enough to be dragged to a two hour and seventeen-minute film? Absolutely.
Last year, you went with your cousin, but she worked tonight and you were the type of fan to go as soon as it was in theaters. You couldn't wait until she was off in three days.
Fez stepped in front of you to open the car door for you. His green sweater keeping him warm in the November chill. You stepped in, smoothing down your black dress as you sat. Sitting your pink heart shaped purse in your lap, your bag of M&Ms hiding inside, you began buttoning up your pink cardigan.
Most people wouldn't take Fez as the Wicked movie going type. But he was the you type, so here he was at your local cinema buying the large popcorn while you went to the bathroom so you could make it in time for the trailers.
During the movie you glanced at Fezco a few times to make sure he was paying attention and gauge his reaction. His eyes were glued to the screen, making you smile to yourself.
Two plus hours later, you were exiting the theater, your boyfriend's fingers entwined with yours. Once you were in the car, you felt it was safe to talk about the movie. You hated those people who started talking about a movie the second they walked out of the theater, while the next group were coming in to watch. The theater lobby was a spoiler free zone.
"Did you hear that girl saying she didn't like the love triangle," you asked Fez, clearly annoyed. "That's literally the catalyst for the rest of the movie! Without it, the Wizard of Oz story doesn't even happen!"
To say you were passionate about Wicked was an understatement. Of course, no story is perfect and you're not going to enjoy every part of it, but you just hated someone talking bad about something you loved so much.
"She's entitled to her opinion, but her opinion is WRONG," you said. Fez was used to this. You had a lot of opinions, and you were always going to let him know. He already knew this was going to bug you for hours. "Seemed necessary to me."
"Right! It's not like when we watched The Vampire Diaries and Elena fell for Damon. There was plenty of plot without that happening."
"Some people just don't get it," Fez replied, eyes on the dark road ahead of him.
"They don't! And these are the same people that vote."
Fez just chuckled to himself. He loved how enthusiastic you got over the stuff you were a fan of, but that also meant you could get heated over it too. This was just a part of loving you.
You sighed, leaning further back into your seat. You looked over at your boyfriend, his face occasionally luminated by the streetlights. "Did you like it though?"
Fez glanced at you then let his eyes go back to the road. "Yeah. I liked when the monkeys took that lady away. I couldn't stand her."
You giggled. "Madame Morrible. Yeah, she had it coming."
"It was kinda sad though," Fez added. He rested his hand on your thigh closest to him.
"Yeah, I kind of forget that. The first act is so hopeful and fun. The second act… well it's a bit dreary."
"Fiyero was cool. I didn't realize he was the scarecrow. That was wild."
Naturally, you didn't tell Fez what happens in act two, and of course you made him watch The Wizard of Oz and part one. It was fun seeing the story through a newbie's eyes. Honestly, it made you love him more. Having someone in your life who didn't like everything you liked but still went out of their way to do things you enjoyed or listened to you talk endlessly about them made your heart full.
"It was. Ugh, I wish I could wipe my memory of it and see everything for the first time again," you replied. "How did you feel about Boq.?"
"He was mad annoying. He thought he was finna break up Glinda and Fieyro?"
"Right! I feel bad for him cause of what Nessa did, but he never had a chance with Glinda and he's delusional for thinking so."
"Fiyero leaving ol' girl at the alter was kinda funny though."
"Fez," you gasped, hitting his chest lightly. "I love Elphaba and Fiyero together, but that was mean."
"Yeah, and funny," Fez chuckled. You just rolled your eyes. "He ain't really love her anyway."
"No… him and Elphaba are cute together. At least she has him in the end." Fez squeezed your thigh at that. To everyone else, Fez came off as this scary but nonchalant drug dealer, but secretly he was a big softy. He'd watch romance movies with you he wouldn't normally watch on his own, and he was always into them. Don't get him started on Me Before You. You both were a wreak after that one.
You were glad Fezco went to see the movie with you, and enjoyed it. But one thing was on your mind since you walked out of the theater.
"Baby?"
"Yeah, ma?"
"Would you still love me if I got turned into a scarecrow?"
Author's Note: Quick little drabble cause this is literally what I do when I'm drunk lol
It was half pass one when Fez's phone started vibrating. He was chilling on the couch. The smell of weed lingering in the air from a blunt he smoked a while ago. Old reruns of Married...with Children playing in the background. He glanced at the screen assuming it was someone wanting a late-night fix, but your angelic face was staring back at him instead. He answers, lifting the phone to his ear, "You good, ma? Why you callin' so late."
Instead of words all he heard was a muffled giggle.
"Y/N?"
"Hey Fez, guess what," you finally replied.
"What?"
"I've been drinking," you answered, giggling uncontrollably.
"Who you with," Fez asked concerned.
"Ashley," you said in a sing song voice. Ashley was your best friend, so Fez knew you were in good hands. "You want to talk to her?"
"Yeah."
"Here, Ashley," you said handing the phone over to your friend while she shook her head at you.
"Hey, Fezco."
"Hey, Ash. She good? Need me to come get y'all?"
"She's fine. I've only had one drink so it's not like we're both wasted. It's just her."
"I'm not wasted!" Fez heard you shout in the background. "Just tipsy... and happy."
"Yeah, okay," Ashely said, rolling her eyes.
"Yes, okay," you replied, a bit of attitude in your voice. "Just 'cause I don't have to drink much to start feeling good doesn't mean I'm wasted."
She just chose to ignore you and go back to Fez. "Don't worry. I got her."
"Thanks. Let me talk to her."
"Hey, baby," you said. Fez could her the smile in your voice making him smile in return.
"Hey."
"I'm glad you answered."
"I'll always answer when you call, you know that."
"He's a good man, Savannah," you said, quoting Waiting to Exhale. You meant it too. Fezco was a good man. He may have done bad things by society's standards (I.E selling drugs), but he always treated you with kindness and respect.
"Who," Fez said confused who Savannah was.
"Ugh, we're watching Waiting to Exhale on our next movie night."
Before Fez could reply, he heard you scream bloody murder into the phone. "Ohmigod, I love this song!" The first few notes of Beyonce's Single Ladies floated through the speaker of his phone. "Gotta go babe, I love you," you rushed out then hung up the phone.
Fezco's eyes grew big, the phone still against his ear. That was the first time you said you loved him. His world froze for a few seconds as he tried to process what you just said. Did you actually mean it, or was it the alcohol talking? Should he bring it up in the morning, or would you even remember? He blinked twice then finally pulled his phone away. He figured he better sleep on it before he decided what to do. But as he laid down in bed that night, all he could think about was how he loved you too.
Summary: You leave town for a month to stay with your grandparents during summer vacation. When you come back you find that Fez has been... cranky in your absence.
Fezco x Reader
Word Count: 1,934
Author’s Note: I think I read another fanfic where reader was out sick for a week at work and the male character had been a complete bitch to the office while they were gone, so I decided to do that with Fez. I started this in April 2023... yeah life be life-ing. Comments are appreciated :)
“Thank God,” Ashtray said opening the door before you were even able to knock.
Confusion filled your eyes. “Uhh, good to see you too, Ash.”
“He’s been cranky as hell since you left,” he replied, pulling you into his and Fez’s place.
“Fez,” you questioned. Why would he be cranky? Something bad must have happened while you were away. It was summer break and you always spent a month at your grandparents. This was your first day back, and you were making your rounds visiting the people you missed the most.
“What happened,” you asked. You texted and called Fez while you were away, but it was never the same as being in person. Maybe he didn’t tell you so you wouldn’t spend your vacation worrying about him.
Ashtray looked annoyed, rolling his eyes at you. “You left, duh,” he replied like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
You decided to let it slide. There was no way Fez was cranky for a whole month because you left. Ash was just a kid, so he must have been mistaken.
You shook your head. “Where is he?”
“Bedroom.”
Immediately making your way to Fez, you turned down the hall walking towards Fez’s closed bedroom door. You knocked then patiently waited.
“What you knocking for,” Fez said, thinking it was Ash at his door. “You never knock.” The door swung open reveling your grinning face.
“Hey, Fezco,” you said with a little happy wave. “Long time no see.”
“Y/N? When did you get back,” Fez asked, surprised but very happy to see you.
“Late last night,” you answered. You began to fiddle with your hands in front of you. “You gonna just stand there, or hug me,” you asked awkwardly watching Fez just stand there, hand still on the doorknob, his mouth slightly open out of shock of seeing you.
Fez’s smile grew bigger as he let go of the door. “Come here, ma,” he said opening his arms and stepping towards you. Your smile reflected his as you wrapped your arms around his waist pulling him in close to your body. His arms wrapped around your shoulders, his beard brushing against the top of your head.
Slowly, you pulled back from Fez. He was more hesitant to let go, his arms lingering against your skin, but you tried not to think too much of it. Fez stepped back making space for you to walk into his room. Glancing around as if anything would have drastically changed in the long month that you had been gone. His bed was made. His French fry pillow lay on his preferred side of the bed. Some jewelry laid out on his dresser. A photo that you took of the two of you on your polaroid camera shoved in the space between the dresser wood and the mirror.
“Why you ain’t tell me you was comin,” Fez asked.
“Wanted to surprise you.”
“Shit, I’m surprised,” Fez said, chuckling a little. He was so glad you were back. It wasn’t the same with you gone.
You plopped down on his bed, smiling up at him. “So, what’s the plan for today?”
The store looked exactly the same. Not that anything ever really changed at the store. It felt good to be in such a familiar place after spending a month in whole other state. You leaned against the counter, finishing a blue raspberry popsicle, discarding the wrapper in a nearby trashcan when you heard someone walk in.
“Finally,” Rue said exhaustedly as she walked up to you then threw her long arms around your shoulders pulling you in for a hug.
There was a beat before you wrapped your arms around the girl, surprised at her actions. “Hey, Rue. If I knew I was missed this much I would have came back sooner.”
“I’m not the one that missed you,” Rue replied pulling away from you. “Well, I mean I did- it’s just, Fez has been an asshole since you left.”
“Fez,” you questioned confused. To the ones that didn’t really know Fez, he came off as cold, even scary to some. The big bad drug dealer sitting alone at parties just waiting for his next customer. But Rue knew better. Fezco was like a big brother to her. Kind and gentle. Always looking out for her.
“Yes, Fez. Next time you leave for a month take him with you...,” Rue said. She glanced around, her hands sliding into her jean pockets. “I’ll just get my drugs from Ash.”
Your brow furred as you tilted your head. “What was he doing?”
“I came over when I always do. It wasn’t even that late. And he acted like I woke him up out of his sleep or something. Just being a bitch for no reason. And I actually had the money to pay him this time and he was still grumpy!”
“Okay... that doesn’t mean he was like that because I was gone,” you replied confused how that one situation applied to you. “He could have just been having a bad day.”
“It was a bad month,” Rue corrected. “I could give you more examples, but you’re so oblivious to how he feels about you, it wouldn’t make a difference.”
You laughed awkwardly shaking your head. “Uh, I know how he feels about me. We’re friends. That’s it.”
“Yeah, sure,” Rue said, rolling her eyes. Then she began walking to the fridge doors, “Ash back there?”
“Yeah...,” you answered softly. Was Rue not going to elaborate? She didn’t know what she was talking about. Yeah, Fez was nice to you, but he was just your friend, and that was mostly because you actually took the time to get to know him. He wasn’t in the business to make friends, but you were an exception.
While you were overthinking what Rue said to you, Fez walked back in pushing a stack of boxes on a dolly.
“What’s that look on your face for,” Fez asked.
“Huh? Oh, uh nothing. Rue just came in. She’s back there with Ashtray.”
“Anything happening while I was gone?”
Fez shook his head stirring the pot of mac and cheese on the stove. He was making your favorite meal since it was your first day back. Well, your favorite thing he made. “Nothing new. Same ol’ same ol’,” Fez replied.
“Huh,” you said, fidgeting with your necklace.
Fezco glanced at you and saw the curiosity in your eyes.
“Why? Was something supposed to happen?”
You looked up just as he was looking away from you again, shaking your head. “Oh, uh, no. Just something Ash and Rue said.”
“What they say?”
“Nothing really. You know Rue. Always going on about nothing.”
Fez stopped stirring and put the lid back on the pot, turning the stove down so the cheese wouldn’t burn. “Yeah, but it must have been somethin’ if you askin’ me now.”
You swung your feet from where you sat on the kitchen counter. Fez now leaning against the counter directly across from you.
“It’s just... they said you were really grumpy while I was gone. So, I wasn’t sure if something happened you didn’t mention when we talked.”
Fez just shook his head. “I wasn’t grumpy. But nothin’ happened for me to be like that anyway.”
You rubbed your elbow, your eye contact drifting away so you weren’t looking directly at him anymore. “I mean... I left. That happened.”
Fez was silent for a moment. “Yeah... but we talked all the time.”
“Not the same as me being here.”
“It’s not but... what you gettin’ at?”
“It just,” you started, flustered to even be bringing this up in the first place, “they made it seem like you were grumpy because I was gone.”
Fez just eyed you while your face grew unbelievably hot. Might as well get this over with now. “Because you like me... as more than a friend...”
“Oh,” Fez replied. His eyes blinked slowly. Every millisecond feeling like an eternity.
You couldn’t take it anymore, you hopped off the counter as you said “Well, I just made things hella awkward between us. I’m gonna kill Rue.” You tried to walk pass Fez out of the kitchen, but he grabbed your arm stopping you. You glanced at his hand wrapped around your forearm, then looked up into his eyes.
“They weren’t wrong.”
“They... weren’t,” you asked hesitantly.
“Nah...,” Fez replied slowly. His thumb rubbed back and forth on your arm sending goosebumps up your skin. “I just ain’t wanna say something and make things awkward.” He let go of your arm refusing to make eye contact with you. He felt an odd sense of embarrassment. He wasn’t used to that.
It was weird seeing Fezco nervous. Usually he seemed so sure of himself. Not worried what others thought. But now, it was clear he cared what you thought.
“Why would things be awkward,” you asked.
“We’re friends. I ain’t wanna mess that up if you didn’t feel the same.”
“Well...,” you replied hesitantly, reaching out to grab his hand, “I do feel the same.”
"Yeah...?"
"Yeah," you replied nodding, a little smile on your face. This moment felt surreal. Fez had feelings for you! You could melt right then and there.
Fez took a step closer to you, his eyes staring into yours. Your cheeks grew hot, and your stomach was doing flips.
"So," you said, filling the silence.
"So," Fezco mirrored you.
"I think this is the part where you kiss me," you said shyly, but still feeling bold.
A smile grew on Fez's face. "I think so too," he said before he gently took your face in his hands, leaned down, and kissed you soft and slow. Fez waited a long time for this, but he wanted to take his time with you. He kissed you like the two of you had all the time in the world, but he hated that this took so long for the two of you to do.
"About time," you heard, making you and Fez jump apart. Ashtray was standing in the doorway. "Now he can get that stick out of his ass, and stop being in such a pissy mood." He bypassed the two of you then went straight to the food on the stove. "Is this done?"
"Yeah," Fez replied. "You couldn't wait 5 more minutes?"
"Why," Ash looked over at the two of you annoyed. "Y'all can smush faces anytime. I'm hungry."
Once again, your face grew hot. Did Ashtray have to be so blunt?
Fezco just shook his head at his little brother's antics. The two of you stood there awkwardly until Ash made his plate then made his way back to his room. Fez took the first step towards you, a slow smile spreading across his face. You smiled in return as you met him in the middle..
"Now what do we do," you asked, curious about the next step in your friendship.
"Now," Fez answered softly as he reached for your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours, "I ask you out on a date."
"Yes," you answered excitedly. Your face scrunched up in slight embarrassment. "Um, I mean, yeah, that sounds good to me," you said, trying to sound more chill.
Fez just chuckled at your answer. "Cool."
You moved in a little closer, so you had to look up through your lashes at him. His eyes low but focused on you. "And if I want to keep kissing you in the meantime?"
Instead of answering with words. Fez leaned down, connecting his lips with yours again.
hey sorry if it sounds weird and idk if you’ll see this since you haven’t been active since last year but i’m currently rewatching euphoria and i was hit, once again, by angus’ death and feeling down about it. but it felt nice to come across your account and not feel like im the only one who’s grieving an actor they didn’t even really know. i really love the way you portrayed his character it makes it easier to overcome the fact that he’s no longer with us so thank you for your works
I read this at work and I almost cried. This is literally so sweet! Thank you for this message. You are NOT alone in grieving Angus' death. I'm mentally not ready for a season 3 of Euphoria because I don't want to watch without him in it. I have things in my drafts I haven't touched in months, but you just gave me the strength to try and finish at least one of them!
Summary: It's Fez's birthday and the first time you're celebrating the special day together. You want everything to be perfect but it's not exactly how you imagined it.
Fezco x Reader
Word Count: 2,935
Author's Note: Happy birthday Angus. I already got emotional this morning and I'm going to make brownies tonight in his honor. Sweet baby angel gone too soon 🩵 I had this idea last week when I realized his birthday was today and thought it be a nice way to think of him. Comments and reblogs are appreciated.
Fezco's birthday was today! Fez and you had only been dating for a few months, four to be exact, and this was your first major event together. He said he normally didn't make a big deal out of his birthday. Since his grandma's accident, it's just been him and Ashtray. Normally Ash would just give him one of those hostess cupcakes from the store and put a candle in it. Then they would end up at In-N-Out for dinner, then back at home to watch whatever movie Fez wanted. It was simple, but enough. No need to make a big fuss.
This year was going to be different, because he had you.
"Happy birthday, baby," you said as you walked into the store. Fez was sitting on the counter, a big grin on his face at the sight of you.
"Thanks, ma," he replied hopping down so he could hug you properly. You practically bounced on your feet to him and squished him as tight as possible in your arms without crushing the stuff in your hands.
"This is for you," you said as you pulled apart careful not to smush the bag you brought and the balloon attached. You handed him the iconic In-N-Out white bag with a T-Rex saying "Have a Dino-mite birthday" balloon attached to it.
"You didn't have to bring me lunch," Fez said as he opened the bag to peak inside at what you got him. You knew his go to order by now, so you already knew he'd like it.
"It's your birthday, and you decided to come to work. The least I could do is bring you lunch."
"Is that one for you," Fez asked, pointing to the other white bag behind you.
"Uh no," you said holding the bag up. "This one is for Ash. I didn't feel like hearing him complain that I brought you lunch and left him to starve." You rolled your eyes at the thought of the younger O'Neil whining, but you'd happily get him lunch.
"He's back there," Fez said nodding towards the freezers.
You made your way behind the sodas and beers spotting Ash in the same spot he's usually in at the store.
"Here," you said placing the bag on the desk Ash was sitting at. "Can't say I never got you anything."
"What, no balloon," Ash asked as he turned around in his chair to face you.
You tilted your head a him, a small smile on your face. "Don't be cheeky. You got your key," you asked holding your hand out.
"Yeah, yeah," Ash said. He reached into his front pocket for his house key, then dropped it in your hand. "Make sure you turn the alarm off in 30 seconds, or-"
"I know," you replied, dropping the key in your purse. "Just make sure Fez stays here so I can have enough time to make his cake and set up."
"I got you," Ash nodded then turned around to began pulling his food out. "And thanks for the burger."
"No problem, little man."
You walked out the freezer spotting Fez shoveling fries in his mouth. "I'm gonna head out, but I'll see you later. Call me when you get home."
"Okay, ma."
You gave him a kiss on his check then leaned back eyeing him. "You know there are napkins in that bag," you chuckled as you reached up to wipe some ketchup off the corner of his mouth.
"Why use a napkin when I have you," Fez replied as he grabbed your hand to place your finger in his mouth to lick the ketchup off.
You scrunched up your face in disgust but couldn't deny how cute your boyfriend was. "Ew, bye birthday boy," you said laughing pushing him away from you.
Once you got to Fez's house, you made sure to park a little further up the street so it would be a surprise that you were there. You walked into the kitchen and set all your supplies down on the counter.
"Okay, let's do this."
You pulled your phone out of your pocket, began playing your Summer playlist, and got to work.
Fez was a simple guy and liked yellow cake with chocolate frosting. You knew this because he took you to a diner and he raved about the cake. Well, raved for Fezco. Which meant he mentioned it before you went, ordered it for dessert, and ate the whole slice of cake in silence leaving no crumb behind.
You had only made a cake one other time with your mom when you were 10. Cookies were more your dessert of choice to bake, but you could do this for Fezco.
The batter was easy enough. You got a little messy when you poured in some of the wet ingredients. It would have been a lot worse if you made it from scratch, but thank God for Betty Crocker. Once you slid the pans in the oven to bake, you got to work on the decorations. You cleared the kitchen table off for the birthday tablecloth you got from the Dollar Tree. Sliding a kitchen chair to give your more height, you hung up the 'happy birthday' banner next. Last, you blew up a few balloons to hang around the banner.
You still needed to wrap your gifts, but you knew you had time once the cake cooled before you could put icing on it.
Once your alarm went off you took the pans out of the oven. One of them was a little more uneven than the other, but you were sure if you just put more frosting on one side it would balance out and not even be noticeable.
With the cake out of the way until it was cool, you began wrapping your gifts for Fez. One was already in a box so it was simple, but the other was going to be difficult. Yeah, you could have easily put the gift in a bag and throw some colorful paper on top, but you just preferred wrapped gifts. There was something about ripping the paper off to reveal a surprise that was more fun than just pulling it out of a bag. You knew you were making this difficult on yourself, but it was for Fez.
Your first wrapping attempt didn't go so hot. The item wasn't square so it was hard to fold the corners down. You took a deep breath and tried again. Attempt two resulted in the gift looking like you just balled the wrapping paper up. Now you were frustrated. This should be easy. You pulled up one of those Youtube videos on how to wrap weird items and just ended up with more of a bag look. You folded the paper first, then just slid your gift inside and taped the top shut.
You could finally move on to frosting the cake. Flipping the pans over, the cakes should have just slid right on out. You know you used enough grease. Taking a butter knife, you placed it between the cake and the pan to loosen it up. Flipping it again, the cake finally fell out.
"Ugh, thank you." You may have spoke too soon because when you felt the cake, it was still a little warm. "Shit."
Well it was just the bottom of the cake so maybe it wouldn't matter so much.
It mattered. The frosting wasn't sitting correctly. It got extremely soft and sort of slid off wherever you put it. You gave up and tried putting the cake in the fridge for a while. That should work. You could wash all the pans and bowls you used in the meantime, and you still had time before Fez got home.
Then your phone beeped letting you know you had a text.
Ashtray: Fez is closing up early. We're cleaning up then heading home.
"Shit."
The sound of the front door opening made you halt your movements, eyes shooting up to the entryway. You placed the butter knife down you were using to ice the cake and quickly made your way around the counter to the kitchen table.
"Surprise," you shouted. It came out a little more awkward than you'd like but you were unprepared and it made you flustered.
Fez's big grin was better than the lackluster smile you currently had on your face, but it didn't make you feel much better.
"You did this," Fez said gesturing to the decorations you put up. He knew it was you because Ash would never and this was very on brand for you. But he was just so surprised anyone would go through so much trouble for him, he couldn't help but ask.
"Yeah," you answered nodding. You clasped your hands in front of you, fidgeting with your fingers. "Um, I made a cake too but it's...," you trailed off, pointing back to the kitchen.
Fez rounded the corner to see the cake you made. Lopsided and half frosted.
"It's not all the way done," you said quickly. You stepped in front of him to block his view. "It takes longer for a cake to cool than I thought. I tried to hurry it and the frosting melted a little. Then I just put it in the fridge, and by the time Ash texted me that you were coming home... that's as far as I got."
"It's fine, baby. You can finish it now," Fez said. He saw the disappointment on your face and wanted to make you feel better.
"I thought I timed everything right. It's not even like I had much to do. I should've just made the cake yesterday like my mom said-"
"Y/N," Fez said reaching out to you. He grabbed you by your forearms to stop you from fidgeting. "It's fine. I'm just happy I got a cake at all."
"But it's all lopsided and only half of it's covered in frosting." You wouldn't meet his eye and you began tearing up. You were already sad, but now you were mad you were about to cry on Fez's birthday. He shouldn't be trying to make you feel better about your mistake on his day.
Fezco lowered his head to try to see your eyes. He hated that you were upset. "Ma, I know it's not exactly like you pictured it, but I'm sure it's still going to taste good. You know I don't need much."
"I just... I wanted everything to be perfect for you," you said, your shoulders slumping in defeat. "It's our first major thing together, and birthdays are really important to me."
Fez reached up, lifting your chin with his hand so you would look at him. "It is perfect, baby. You made it for me, and that's all I need for this to be more than enough."
"It's just-," you began before Fez interrupted.
"I love it. And I love you."
Fez said I love you. Fez just said he loves you! Your eyes went wide at his confession. It felt like your heart grew and was about to explode out of your chest.
"You do," you asked softly. Scared that if you spoke too loudly you'd wake up because this had to be a dream.
Pulling you in by the waist before he answered nodding, "Yeah... I do."
Before he could full process what you were doing, you placed you hands on his face and pulled him in for a kiss. Your fingers pressed into his cheeks feeling the coarse hair of his beard. It didn't take him long to kiss you back, his lips practically melting into yours. His other hand wrapped around your waist pulling your body firm against his.
Finally having to come up for air, you two pulled apart with a breathless laugh. Your eyes fluttered open, looking up at Fez doe eyed. "I love you, too."
Once you let go of the idea of tonight being perfect, everything went fine. Fez ordered some Chinese food while you finished frosting his cake. Now you knew you had to slice the top part of the cake off for it to be flat before you frosted it and can't just add more frosting to try to balance it out. You live and you learn.
Fez insisted on picking up the Chinese despite your protest. Once he got back, the three of you sat at the table and ate together. When you were all done, you went to the kitchen to light the candles on his cake.
"Get the lights, Ash," you directed, not leaving any room for debate. He rolled his eyes but did as you said. He just wanted some cake and didn't care for the theatrics.
You slowly made your way to the table singing happy birthday, the glow from the candles lighting up your face. Ash even sang along. More like mumbled, but it was better than nothing. Placing the cake in front of your boyfriend, you couldn't help but be proud of the smile that lined his face. You put that smile there.
After he devoured two slices of cake, Fez rubbed his hands together excited for his gifts.
"Okay, open this one first," you said placing the small gift in front of him. Ashtray did get his brother a gift, but he was too excited and gave it to him at breakfast before they left for the store.
He quickly ripped off the paper revealing the Polo by Ralph Lauren cologne. "I thought since you wore so much Polo, you'd appreciate some of their cologne," you said shyly explaining your gift choice.
Fez opened the box and pulled out the green bottle spraying a little on his wrist so he could get a good whiff of the scent.
"Nice," he said nodding his head liking the fragrance. "Thanks, baby." He leaned over and gave you a peck on your cheek. Your smile widened that he liked your gift. Colognes and perfumes were always hard to gift because you never knew if the other person would like it, but you knew Fezco well enough now. Even that being said, you were still a little worried about it.
You were also worried about your second gift. It's wasn't anything big, and you thought he may think it was dumb. That's why you gave him the nicer gift first so this one wouldn't have so much pressure on it.
"Okay, here's your second gift. It's nothing fancy, but I got an idea and ran with it."
This one wasn't wrapped as nicely as the cologne, but Fez knew he'd be happy with whatever you got him. "I already love it."
You giggled, "You haven't even opened it yet."
"It's from you so I already know I'll love it," he said leaning over to kiss you on the lips.
"Just open it," you replied.
He quickly ripped the wrapping paper off then carefully examined the gift. You eyed him waiting on his reaction. It was a ashtray you made by hand, painted green, with a heart in the middle that had both your initials in it. It looked like an art project a fourth grader made in class.
"I was at Michaels and they had this clay. I didn't know what I could make with it at first, and I know you already have enough ashtrays, but I wanted to make you something and that looked like the easiest-", you babbled, your nerves over if he liked it or not getting the best of you.
"You made this," Fez asked interrupting you.
"Uh, yeah," you answered hesitantly.
Fez put the ashtray down and pulled you into his lap. "I love it, ma," he said before connecting his lips with yours.
"Ew," Ash said as he got up from the table but neither of you paid him any mind.
You wrapped your arms around his neck pulling him in closer to you. You could still taste the chocolate frosting on his lips. He squeezed your hip gently before he pulled away from you. "I love it. I can't believe you made this for me."
You laughed, your eyes crinkling in the process, "Babe, it's just a clay ashtray. Not like I knitted you a whole sweater."
"No one's ever made me anything," Fez said, his hand sliding up and down your thigh. "Well, Ash made stuff when he was in like the second grade, but that was just because the whole class was making stuff and he had to. But this...," he said lightly touching the ashtray, "you made this with your beautiful hands for me. I couldn't ask for a better birthday gift."
"Aww, baby," you cooed, your hand coming from around his neck to rest on his face. His beard rough against your soft palm.
It was moments like these that let Fezco know there was a God. Because how on Earth, could a low life drug dealer like him get lucky enough to not only find you, but have you love him. He stared at you intently, admiring every detail on your face.
Your face got hot under his gaze. "What," you asked laughing awkwardly.
"Nothing, I just love you."
You grinned wide, heart overflowing with love and pride at his words. "I love you, too." Then you leaned in for a chaste kiss. "Best birthday ever,"
"It's not even your birthday," Fez corrected, chuckling. "It's mines."
You shook your head. "I don't care. Best. Birthday. Ever," you said, punctuated each word with a kiss to his lips. To love and to be loved, you couldn't ask for anything better.
