I forgot to upload this yesterday with chapter 65 of Bloodlines. To be honest, I'm not entirely happy with it. Natsu's face—I just couldn't get it right in pixel form. Still, I had fun drawing this up. As with my other pixel drawings, I used Aseprite to make this.

Is Gajeel in your bloodlines story? Or levy?

I'm not revealing whether any more particular characters will be appearing in Bloodlines. 😶 I will say that not every character from FT appears in it, otherwise the story will really drag on much longer than it needs to!

I'm really impressed by how fast you post new chapters, I wish I could be that fast of a writer, and is always so gooooood, what's this witchery??? щ⁠(⁠゜⁠ロ⁠゜⁠щ⁠)

Unemployment, several chapters written in advance, dual monitors set up on my PC, being very fast at typing, hyperfixation, and a complete plot planned out so you know exactly what you're writing next. That's it 😅

Occasionally, my partner will 'beta' read my chapters, and sometimes I might ask a certain other writer in this fandom for their thoughts if I'm particularly nervous about an upcoming chapter.

I know he wears a lot of black - he needs to keep his identity a secret after all. But he does get a couple of different outfits to wear later in the story, including a 'formal' one... (Around chapter 60ish for anyone curious) 🤭

I'm moving on to Erza next; she's got to be easier than Natsu was to pixel.

I'm not the best at drawing, traditional or digital, but I can do some pixel art! A few readers of my Bloodlines fic are curious about how I envisioned the characters to look, so this is the best I could do. 😆Lucy also has a couple more outfit changes in the story that will come later. (I, uh, recently finished a draft of chapter 70...) I'm working on Natsu, but you have no idea how annoying he is to pixel. Erza and Gray will come after. For anyone curious, I used Aseprite to make these.

Greetings esteemed author of the brilliant fanfiction that is Bloodlines, I'm currently reading your story, deeply in regret for not doing it earlier.

I am now so infatuated with the story that it makes me wish to illustrate it , so may I ask in my most formal princess like writing (because it's fitting of such fanfiction) if you have a time period you based your story or references you based the clothing so I may use it as reference for my art??

Thank you so much ‪‪❤︎‬ To answer your question, and in all honesty, I did not pick an exact period of time based on our world's history for this story. I was influenced a lot by both Western RPG and JRPG video games when I started writing it, and there's some Dungeons and Dragons influences in there, too, so in my mind, the setting is simply medieval fantasy. Some of the clothing (in my mind at least) is similar to some of the designs already in Fairy Tail, or to some of Mashima's drawings/manga covers. For example, some of Lucy's princess clothing is based on just what she wore at the Heartfilia estate, but more extravagant, given she's royalty and not an heiress. It would also cover her up way more than she would normally want because I don't think her dad would tolerate her looking too scandalous, haha. There's also an episode where she wears a wedding dress to battle a toad, which I sort of referenced in my mind when writing the wedding chapter... and her newest outfit in the fanfic is based on an outfit she wears during the Tartaros arc. Natsu has mostly been wearing black to keep himself hidden better, alongside covering up his scales when he has to, and he wears boots instead of sandals. Erza is wearing a complete set of armour instead of a skirt/breastplate combo, but I keep imagining her in her usual fairy tail wear half the time despite writing her this way >.< The main difference in clothing compared to the anime/manga in the fanfic is the use of hooded cloaks, which they use to hide their faces as well as shield them from the elements... aside from Gray. He's too cool to use a cloak.

I don't go into huge flowery descriptions of the clothing because readers are going to use their imagination most of the time anyway ;)

I'm not sure this was all that helpful lol. I'm not much of a clothing expert (although I won't deny I've watched the odd Bernadette Banner video every now and then 😉), and it's pretty cool you're interested in that part of our history! Thanks again for reading my fic! ❤︎

i really liked Boys Trip by MarshmallowApples a lot more than i thought i would! it's a modern exes-to-lovers AU, i recommend checking it out!

Bloodlines by ottermadness is another fic i've really been enjoying lately! it's a royalty AU with natsu and lucy as childhood friends; it's still ongoing, but the author updates pretty regularly!

only you can make me scream and beg for more by heartvilias is a really fun smut fic where natsu gets turned on by lucy being a badass :)

a dragon's habits by Poteto is a really really adorable AU where natsu is a dragon and "kidnaps" lucy!

i haven't finished this one yet, but There's Something Wrong With Iggy Dragneel by @spot-of-tea is absolutely delightful! it's not quite nalu, but they are in this one, so :) in any case, it's so so good and i really recommend it!
