Didn't draw much for the last week (well no, I did, but mostly textures for 3d ships, which is not art-fighty) But I experimented a lot, never tried to draw ponies before, and I draw dragons too rarely, so Rubedo here became a great stretch!

...A-and that was everything I managed to draw in the first week of Artfight! Two drawings a day on average is pretty good for me, I also experimented a lot with my styles and pushed myself to draw more than headshots.

I think Lady Butternut is the most sucessful one I did, looks cleaner than others, but not too dry either. But she did take a while to draw...

Hopefully I'll get a hold of myself and draw more in that kind of style!

artfight 2026 animated borders!!

i like making my own attack borders, but as i have so many friends in other teams this time, i decided to make one for all three!

i personally prefer having more vibe and color based borders that take inspiration from the themes so they are bit more subtle in design

they are F2U, i don't require any credit, but it would be very much appreciated still! you are also free to let me know if you use them down below!

i hope you enjoy them and that everyone has a fun artfight this year!!

for anyone who doesn't know how to apply them, i've written a quick tutorial below on how i've been doing it (that applies for any animated border meant for artfight attack thumbnails):

download your desired border gif

go to ezgif.com/maker and upload both the border gif and a square image of your attack thumbnail

if the website asks if you want to automatically resize all images to match the smallest one, then press "rezise"

move the thumbnail to be the first frame in the series

check the boxes shown in the screenshot below

press "Make a GIF!" and boom! you have your attack thumbnail with an animated border as a gif

if the speed is incorrect, you can adjust it by changing the number in "Delay time" and remaking the gif until it's right for you

download the gif of the animated thumbnail and when uploading an attack, choose that file as your thumbnail!

there may be other ways to add animated borders, but this is what i've been doing since last year. hope it helps anyone who has been struggling with it!

PSA TO ART FIGHTERS

if you want to put an image in the text portion of your profile / a character profile / etc, don't use discord image links, they expire in 24 hours

instead use an image hosting website! i can't really speak on any good ones other than filegarden, which is the one i use. if you don't feel like looking for an image hosting site you can also post the image as a private tumblr post, and link it from there, i believe that works ok

I’m not participating in ArtFight this year, but the teams were just so pretty I couldn’t resist.., also my first earnest attempt at dividers! I really like how the tragedy one came out!! Especially bc it was causing so many problems w/ my poor spelling and I had to redo it twice 😭😭
