Prepping wool for today's spin! This is a superwash merino/bamboo roving from @hoggwildfibers ! There is almost 6 oz here...I'm going to pre draft and spin a fine-ish single. I'm o to bulky weight yarn now so I'm thinking I'll chain ply this one. Today's tour de fleece plans are to spin the last of the Pumkinhaus rolags. I'm still on super bulky art yarn with this batch. I'm going to try and stretch for yardage on this one. My second spin of the day! I spun a single of the blue rolags from @pumpkinhaus and then I did a chain ply with a strand of bamboo thread and a merino single- making a 9 ply yarn. And then thread plied the 9 ply for 10 ply?? Who knows at this point! I was way out of my comfort zone and it turned out quite beautifully! Tonight I finished this skein of polwarth. Just in time for the #tourdefleece2015 ! Time to clear out the bobbins and gather my fibers. I'm going rogue this year and not being on a team. My goal is to spin a variety of yarns, from fibers in my stash on my espinner. I want to try for a yarn in every weight category, a couple of art yarns, and different plys. Still camping, just checking in to show off my Quaker Stretcher Shawl on Cosmic Rainbow Handspun (the first skein). I am obsessed with this pattern- really a great knit. AND THIS YARN! Omg. You really can feel the Lincoln when you knit with the polwarth...but with all the softness of merino.
