Like two years ago I ran into a salamander biologist in the woods who complimented my ability to 'walk quietly in the forest while causing minimal disturbance to the leaf litter.' Still goes to my head.

I had to get my kidneys imaged a few years ago and the urologist somewhat breathlessly told me "you have absolutely beautiful kidneys." and tbh I've never felt hotter.

Whenever I get my blood drawn or donate blood the phlebotomists complement my prominent arm veins. It makes me feel very special.

I call this one Four Legged Stool. It’s a slight variation in the design theme I’ve been enjoying lately. Instead of using sheet metal for the top I started with a solid chinch of metal and gradually hammered and squished it down and drew it out to the size it is now. It’s so much more lovely than plane sheet metal! I forged this out of about 4” of 2” diameter round stock. Its totally unnecessary, I could have just used sheet metal like I’ve been doing, but I do love it, it’s satisfying. You don’t get the weight and texture and edge shape in sheet metal though... If you think about it, blacksmithing is pretty unnecessary, maybe even art making is unnecessary. But art making has existed almost as long as humans have, like in cave paintings and shit. So maybe art making is intrinsically necessary to being human. So maybe blacksmith is, which means this dumb piece of metal is.
