Hourly Comics Day 2017! The most wonderful day of the year. Featuring: work.
Localization problems inherent in bicultural child-rearing. Next thing you know he'll come home saying the last letter is "zed." >:C
Aspirational Parenting is a Horrible Trap :(
Sure, sounds legit. (There's this bizarre lateral transmission of Superhero Facts that happens among the small boys at his preschool. They've never read the comics or seen the movies, but they know with absolute conviction that there's BATMAN, and he wears black. SPIDERMAN shoots fire at bad guys. HULK SMASH has torn purple pants, and so forth)
And finally, a little note re: things that are a great idea to put on your human torso. Today's the last day to grab a helminth-tastic Parasitism t-shirt, supporting the nature nerd cartoonery of both me and the wonderful Rosemary Mosco of Bird & Moon comics. (personally, I'm proud of how this design looks pretty innocuous from a distance, then absolutely horrifying on closer inspection. The perfect solution for uninvited boob-gazing.)
Li'l cartoon suggested by entomology twitter. It's super hilarious if you're up to date on your dictyopteran phylogenetics!
It wasn't coffee :(
100% guaranteed. If you don't have a baby or toddler of your own, I bet someone would be real happy to loan you one.
Last hourlies!

Epilogue is what we call “a real Indiana Jones situation”
Hourlies page 2. Adolescent emu grabbing a sandwich straight out of the hands of a terrified child: highlight of the day, possibly of the year.
Hourly Comics Day! Slightly delayed on account of international flight during prime scanning time. Here is 7am-10am.
A golden oldie from 2012 (about 5 months pre-baby). Recently unearthed for a Twitter referendum on whether ants are bigger assholes than spiders.
Or, the Curious Incident of the Poop in the Night-Time.
Mommy's not bitter, honey! NOT AT ALL
I don’t think I’ve posted this here before— a Beatonesque golden oldie, the Ballad of Lucy Evelyn Cheesman.
She was one incredible gal.
