“What is that, if you don’t mind me asking?”

“I don’t know I’ve had a pretty interesting life so far and it hasn’t really gotten me anywhere.”

“It’s given you experiences. That’s gotta count for something.”

“I mean if you want to tell me about him I’d love to know what he thought when you guys were expecting me.”

“I’ll tell you about him. It’s okay. Whatever you want to know.” She promised with a small smile, “he was so excited when we found out about you.”

“Boring sounds pretty entertaining to me at this point honestly.”

“People only ever say that until they’re bored, though.”

“I just don’t want to make you sad talking about him. Although I want every story about him that I can get.”

“It’s not a bad sort of sadness, it’s more...bittersweet. But I don’t ever want to be the reason you don’t know about your dad.”

“It’s a shame that people let a beautiful woman be alone. It’s their loss though I’m sure.”

“I don’t know about that, I’m pretty boring these days.”

“You’re not a let down, not even in the slightest. You’re exactly what I ever wanted in my life and I’m lucky that I have you,” Juliet reminded her knowing how much she meant the words, “He is. I just wish I knew dad.”

“I wish that you had that, too. But if you ever want to know about him, you can always ask. I don’t mind.”

“As long as your boyfriend doesn’t mind me stealing your time.”

“I don’t have a boyfriend to worry about. My son, maybe, but he’s pretty busy with his own life and so is his sister.”

“I never want for you to understand what I went through I just want your love which I know that I already have. But they will also be lucky to have their dad. He’s something absolutely special.”

“I just don’t want you to feel like you’re alone. Even if I’ve been a letdown in that department before.” Ophelia admitted with a sigh. “He is pretty special, isn’t he? Your dad would be so proud of you both.”

“Honestly? I have. While all the other girls were going through drama with boyfriends and crying over whether or not they loved them I never felt that. He never gave me a chance to wonder. It’s kind of hard when we were practically attached at the hip and he never so much as looked at other girls.”

“You have no idea how happy I am that Kyle never made me deal with stupid teenage drama like that. Even if he was a stupid teenage boy, which I can say, because I’m his mother and we both know it’s true.” Ophelia laughed. “But I am happy he never made you wonder. It means somehow I did something right.”

“I was literally never taught how to cook. Honestly any lessons would be great.”

“That’s unfortunate, but I’m happy to do what I can.”

“I appreciate you and everything you do for me. I don’t think you understand just what it means to me to actually have a mom that cares for me. And now whenever I do have kids they’re going to have a fantastic grandma and uncle.”

“I know you do, sweetheart. I promise. Maybe I can’t understand what you went through, but I will do my best to get there.” Ophelia promised quietly. “When you have kids, they’ll be very lucky, but it won’t be only because of me and your brother.”

“That’s true. He would have told Kat at the very least and she’s been repeating every single thing he says to her and while it might be baby babble I think I’d understand either brother or sister. At least now I really know that he loves me,” Leia pointed out with a happy sigh. 

“Yeah, you figure out how to speak baby babble pretty fast when it’s your kids, and Kyle isn’t sly enough to pull off knowing and not telling anyone.” Ophelia laughed, shaking her head. “You’ve always known that though, haven’t you?”

“I just need someone that can at least teach me a few meals that I can do on my own. If you have any suggestions on who I wouldn’t mind knowing them.”

“I could probably do it, if you really needed it. You raise a teenage boy and you learn a few things.”

“You deserve to have your children letting you know how incredible you are though,” Juliet reminded her mother knowing how much worse it could be. “I think he deserves to know what it’s like. It’s the one thing I lucked out with I can’t imagine how bad he was.”

“I know, sweetheart. You and Kyle give me too much credit, but I’ll never stop trying.” She promised, letting out a sigh. “It was pretty awful, but it seems to have passed, thankfully.”

“I mean he might know, but I know that I don’t. You can always ask him to see if he has because honestly? I’d be more surprised if he doesn’t already know. He’s way too impatient, which is part of why I love him so much. I’m glad I always gave you peace of mind with him.”

“I doubt he does. If he did, he wouldn’t be able to keep it to himself, he’d have broken and told somebody already.” Ophelia said with a laugh, shaking her head. “You never had to worry about that. At least not with me, I always knew.”
