âThatâs prepostâ prepastuâ preâŚ. fucking ridiculous! I definitely havenât had too many drinks tonight!â Teddy slurred, having absolutely had too many. âAll Iâm tryinâ to do is get from this barstool to my apartment and call it a night and this guy says I canât have one more shot! A shot! Thatâs it! Just one!â he complained, eyeing the bartender walking away. âCan you believe this monstrosity?â he said, turning to the person next to him.
Bars. Something Ophelia had never been super into but in the interest of staying busy and making some changes to her life, here she was... sitting in a bar. How people ever went to bars by themselves baffled her and she ended up having more drinks than sheâd originally planned. She turned when the guy a seat down from her started making a ruckus about being cut off. âHow is he supposed to get back to his apartment without that shot?â she exclaimed dramatically after the bartender, before dissolving into tipsy giggles. âAlthough, for real, how many times have you already said just one?â she asked, swiveling in her seat.Â

âI have been called many things but this is the first time someone has called me cool.â Alec admitted and was glad the darkness hid the blush and his freckles.âBut thank you for the compliment.â He sat down on a lounger and rested his hands on the ledge looking out over the city. âAccording to some old story, there is a person for everyone. My last relationship was incredibly..â He chewed his lip and rubbed his ear before carrying on. âPainful for much of a better word. I moved here to start again. So it would be nice to have a reason behind this shift in life.â He said and then smiled. âLike fate.â
âWhat can I say, I like to break the mold,â she teased lightly. âThere are lots of variations of that old story. Red string of fate, or how humans were meant to have four arms and four legs and two faces but were split in half because they were too powerful as a whole...â Ophelia found herself nodding empathetically. âGosh, Iâm sorry to hear that. What happened? If you want to share obviously, Iâm not trying to push or anything. Iâve had a couple failed relationships myself this past year.â She offered him a reassuring smile. âWell, welcome to Denver. Itâs a good place for a fresh start. The air is clear and the people are nice and fate is pretty complicated but something brought you here.â She reached out a hand to shake his. âAnd something brought you to the roof at this particular moment because now weâve met. Iâm Ophelia.â

âI donât think aliens would bother coming to earth, They would take one look at us and leave.âAlec said with a small chuckle. âWhat with Brexit and Trump. They would think us all insane.â He said and smiled at the woman nearby. âI like thinking about life. I like thinking that somewhere out there is one soul that is just waiting for the right time to find mine.â He mumbled and looked out to the buildings in the night sky.
âWell, at this point if they know we exist theyâve already determined that weâre pretty much not worth any form of meaningful communication because we've got all these radio signals being sent out into the universe and no response yet. Unless the government is trying to cover it up but... who knows.â Her smile spread even wider as he continued. âYouâre thinking about soul mates? Romantic, platonic, complete you like your perfect other half soul mate?â She joined up by the ledge, looking out towards the glittering lights of the city. âYouâre officially the coolest. And I think that there is. Somewhere, thereâs someone for all of us. I like to believe that anyway.âÂ
âI wonât lie to you - I didnât catch any of that.â Tobias admitted, shamefully. He had been up late the night before, hardly with any reason beyond paperwork that he had neglected during the move to his new place just the day before. It was a tiring process and was certainly present on his features but he couldnât complain. âSorry - guy was in my ear about an appointment at the garage and I feel like my brain canât take two conversations at once when Iâm this tired. So you were saying? â
Ophelia grinned. âOh, donât worry about it. I was rambling. As usual.â She held up the plate of cookies she was holding. âI was just saying that I went a little baking crazy with the recipe experimentation and I ended up with all these so if you are interested in cookies...â She set the plate down on the table in front of him. âLate night, I take it?â she asked.

Alec made his way up to the rooftop for the first time since he had moved into the building. It was a soft, spring night and although there was a chill in the air, Alec didnât have a coat. He gazed up at the sky and smiled to himself as he watched the stars above him started to appear and the cyan sky turned to an inky black. âItâs lovely up here isnât it?â He murmured to the person he heard approaching. â I  was told you could see the Milky way up here.â He put his finger to his lip and thought for a moment before continuing. âOr maybe itâs Orion's belt.â
âDefinitely Orionâs belt on a clear night,â Ophelia said, turning to face the guy who spoke. âThe Milky Way if youâre really lucky but you can always head out into the mountains to have a higher chance of that.â She smiled and tilted her head back to look at the sky. âIt is lovely up here though. I hang out on the roof a lot. Half waiting for the aliens, half just thinking about life.âÂ
katherinexwhite:
âHey what doesnât kill you makes you even more fabulous, at least with the scarring, you know how to lower your expectation for the next time and eventually youâll get the right fit, the clothes thatâs not just look good but fits you,â  she shrugged her shoulders, âSeriously just think of it like youâre browsing for some gadgets or clothes or shoes, it makes it easier to judge them by their covers,â she suggested, âWell I did met some bad ducks but I also met some great lay who end up being my friends. Though in the end I did get back with my ex, so I donât know if thatâs a success story or not.â
âWho knew that fashion could be such a good analogy for boys?â As someone not particularly fashion forward herself, sheâd never thought about it. "Iâm the type of person who tends to stick with what I feel most comfortable in. Maybe that extends into the realm of dating too. Probably why I suck at it. But you know what they say... doing the same thing and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity, so itâs time for me to browse for some different shoes,â she giggled. âI say that if you are with the person you want to be with and they make you happy, itâs a success story, whether or not it involved some Tindering. Plus, a good lay is never anything to complain about.âÂ
gabrielarhodes:
âIt does and itâs ridiculous, honestly. Iâm not exactly the least vain person in the world but even I wouldnât do that. Itâs utterly ridiculous.â She stated with a shrug of her shoulders. âI donât think it ever will be.â
âThereâs nothing wrong with a little vanity,â she said. âAt least, I donât think so. Itâs only wrong when vanity keeps you from getting to know people for who they are but you donât strike me as that type.â A short laugh escaped her. âHah, great. Good to know. Looks like Iâm pretty much doomed then because I was not blessed with being born with game.âÂ
aspen-maddox:
âHonestly, thatâs what it is. I find it hard to believe you can fall in love with someone in such a short amount of time with a bunch of other people all over them.â he chuckled, âJust doesnât add up.â he gave a shrug before chuckling, âNo, youâre fine. You arenât crying and freaking out, so youâre a big step ahead of a few people.â he grinned, giving her hand a shake, âAspen.â his eyes locked with hers and he smiled softly, âItâs my pleasure to meet you, Ophelia.â He released her hand and chuckled hearing that she saw âBeauty and the Beastâ he grinned a little more, âThat was a lot of fun to film. I hope you enjoyed it. The cast was absolutely amazing to work with.âÂ
âI would be so annoyed by the whole thing Iâd probably end up as the villain of the season. But you know what, I guess I donât know what goes on in everyoneâs head. Just because it doesnât work for me, doesnât mean it could never work for anyone. Love doesnât really make sense and whatnot, right?â Her grin widened and she shook her head. âIf I started crying and freaking out, Iâd never be able to show my face in this building again now that you live here. Itâs lovely to meet you. What brings you to Denver?â she asked. âIt must have been amazing to get to bring something as Iconic as that to life. I know that it was such a huge part of my childhood and honestly, you were everything I could have wanted Gaston to be.âÂ

the  hollywood  star  let  the  redhead  carry  her  purse,  &  then  held  firmly  her  hand  to  standing  up.  she  waved  her  hand  in  the  air  when  she  asked  where  she  had  been. â  I  drank  jelly drinks,  they  are  so  sweet⌠ For  I  moment, Iâve  thought  I  found  heaven. â  she  spoke  very  emphatically  each  words  but  slurring  them,  showing  excitement  on  her  tone,  entering  on  the  lift  when  itâs  arrived,  but  leaning  her  body  on  the  mirror,  since  her  mind  was  dizzy.  briar rose  is  a  sugar  tooth,  anything  sweet  attracts her⌠when  itâs  alcoholic  drink  &  sweet  is  like  a  combo!  she  usually  forgot  thereâs  alcohol  to  enjoy  the  sweetness  of  the  drink.  she  wonders  to  herself  how  she  manage  to  walk⌠ â  There  is  a  country  bar,  &  of  course  I  took  the  liberty  of  drank  rum,  then  champagne⌠ Then  I  canât  remember  the  rest. â  therefore  she  didnât  mentioned  her  floor,  she  forgot. â  Uh...  Whatâs  your  name ? â of  course  this  isnât  only  alcohol  making  effects  on  her.  she  used  coke  too⌠ but  itâs  not  something  sheâd  mentions  to  people.  itâs  not  even  something  she  would  want  to  mentions  to  herself.
âJelly drinks?â Ophelia repeated, raising a brow. âLike jello shots?â The only sort of jelly drinks she could think of were jello shots in a frat basement but that seemed hardly like the right picture coming to mind. She helped the girl into the lift, shrugging her bag onto her shoulder and keeping an eye out to make sure that she didnât just tip over. âWell, it sounds like fun. Was it a party or just a casual night out? And you said twelve flights of stairs right? So twelfth floor?â She smiled and introduced herself. âOh that's right, my bad. Iâm Ophelia. Obviously I know who you are already but duh that doesn't go both ways. I'm a big fan.âÂ
nevada--saunders:
âI donât understand it either, even though Iâve never tried it and donât plan on it.â Nev shrugged his shoulders and looked over towards the female. Hearing her ask the last question made him laugh, âIâve hardly dated at all so that will be a no.â
Ophelia turned to Nev, a big smile on her face. âYou definitely never struck me as a Tinder sort of person. I promise that is a complete compliment,â she laughed. âItâs possible that Iâm not a Tinder person either, I just hopped on this bandwagon for the hell of it and now Iâm overanalyzing a silly app.âÂ
marcus-curry:
Marcusâs feet were up on a coffee table as he heard the girl near him start to speak. He had seen her around a few times but never actually met her. âDonât feel like a jerk. Attraction is extremely important in a relationship, thereâs nothing wrong with that. You should absolutely be attracted to someone you date, so swipe left until you find someone youâre attracted to!â he said with a laugh. âIâve met up with a person or two when I first moved to Denver. It was a cool way to meet some people. It can be funâ.
âAttraction is so much more complicated than what you can gauge through a photo though, you know?â she mused. âAt least I feel like the emotional connection definitely overpowers initial physical pull. And thatâs not me saying that the superficial stuff totally doesnât matter because Iâd obviously be lying but itâs just so hard to tell with this thing and I think I'm literally looking for reasons to swipe left.â She tossed her phone aside, the app still open on the screen. âWhen did you first move here? Did you maintain any friendships or hookups or whatever through Tinder?âÂ
alaska-mcmahon:
âOf course no one goes on a dating app and tells the world theyâre an asshole. You have to look for that type of stuff with what they put as in their likes and in the pictures they share.â Alaska explained to the girl. Shrugging her shoulders, she shook her head. âNone of the boys I had drinks with turned out into anything. My heart was kind of with someone else and I just tried to cover it up with the shitty dates, but it never really worked. Yeah, you can get away with chugging it and ditching. Itâs pretty easy now these daysâyou just have to go somewhere crowded and slip out the back door.â
âAll right fair. The pictures in particular are pretty revealing. Iâve definitely swiped left on some very frat bro-y looking guys who donât have any photos where they arenât wearing sunglasses,â she said. âOh, well thatâs totally understandable. If your heartâs set on someone else, any other dates are practically guaranteed to be pretty lackluster. You and that someone... are you guys still together?â Ophelia asked with a little tilt of her head. âIâm just curious.â Â
aspen-maddox:
Aspen couldnât help but chuckle at her Bachelor comment and how she kept the app under her âGamesâ folder. He grinned over at her, their eyes meeting as she glanced up. âI could never get into the Bachelor. I tried watching it a few times, but heard the guys end up going back on it because the relationship fell. Games folder is the perfect spot for it honestly.â his grin widened a little as she recognized him, âYup, thatâs me.â he let out a soft chuckle, âI just moved in yesterday.â his eyes quickly scanned over the girl, sitting up a tad more and laying his arm across the top of the couch, âAnd what would your name be?â he continued curiously, eyes fixated on the other.
âI only like the Bachelor and the Bachelorette for the comedic factor of when people really intensely claim they fell enough after knowing someone in a group setting for a couple of weeks. Makes me feel a little less silly about my own love life,â she said with a grin and a shrug. âWhat! You moved here! Thatâs so cool! Thatâs so exciting! Oh my god, I totally donât mean to just freak out and go all crazy on you. Iâm sure you get enough of that,â she rambled before sitting up and extending a hand. âIâm Ophelia. Welcome to Denver. I just watched âBeauty and the Beastâ the other day so this feels a little surreal.âÂ
luca-carlisle:
âYeah, not really. And when I was in Romania, and I got approached to coming to the states, I thought Iâd finally be living somewhere warm. Big mistake,â he chuckled. âOh god that sounds amazing.âÂ
âAt least when youâre speeding around the ice and scoring goals, you get to warm up? How are you feeling, by the way?â Ophelia asked, concerned. âI know Bash said you were injured a while ago. I totally have stuff to make hot cocoa if you want it.âÂ
katherinexwhite:
âYou donât really have to understand anything though, itâs like online shopping for men. If youâre lucky the product is good and youâre satisfied, if not you can return it with a little scarring experience,â Katherine said before laughing, âI tried Tinder once when I was in a rebounding phase,â she told the girl, âHey if men can judge us by how we look, why not judge them by how they look?â
Ophelia giggled at the analogy. âThatâs a pretty good way to look at it, actually. But Iâm the sort of person that sometimes inadvertently makes the little scarring experience into a big scarring experience.â Unfortunate, but true for her. âI guess Tinder is supposed to sort of reflect the way that we make judgements about people in real life but it just feels ten times worse when itâs on my phone. I could just be being silly. Did you ever have any successful Tinder dates during the rebound phase?âÂ
loganxwilliams:
âThat guys with celebrity couldnât get on dating sites because no one would either believe we were or actually want to get to know us.â He said with a shrug and a laugh. âI doubt thatâs true youâre pretty.â Logan said.Â
âAnd what was the verdict? Did people actually believe you were you? Or did they make you do ridiculous things to prove your identity like take selfies with their names or whatnot? Though honestly, Iâd be a little skeptical at first too if I saw someone famous on Tinder,â she admitted. âWell thank you. Doesnât change my weirdness though.âÂ
