People on this website will praise a piece of media for being anti-war and the piece of media in question will have the radical anti-war messages of "war is bad because American soldiers get traumatized in it" and "war is just senseless violence where both sides are fighting for no reason and i don't know why it happens because no one benefits from it" and it will be about a real-life war fought by the U.S. to defend its imperial hegemony where the U.S. military killed 1 out of every 7 of the opposing country's population.

not sure what you mean by "before America got involved" because in the time frame you are presumably talking about, the USA, China, and Russia were all assisting Korea in repelling Japanese imperialism (though direct chinese involvement in korea was minimal as china was itself trying to repell japan. the korean government in exile was centered in China, though in the KMT controlled segment of China.)

after Japanese imperialism was repelled, soviet troops were withdrawn in 1948, usa troops withdrawn in 1949. after war broke out between the communist and capitalist factions in Korea, significant direct chinese troop involvement did not commence until October 25th 1950, several months after significant involvement by USA forces and their allies in June 27th 1950. soviet involvement remained primarily indirect through much of the war.
