they’re both cheerleaders, though Stephanie was coerced into joining the team by both Allie and Charlotte.

Allie despises Charlotte. She sees Charlotte as a sort of rival, unbeknownst to Charlotte. They’ve been best friends since diapers and Allie has always been jealous of Charlotte, and is constantly trying to outdo her in every way, believing she herself is prettier and more deserving of popularity and respect than Charlotte. She pretends to be her friend so she stays popular by proxy while she constantly tries to sabotage Charlotte.

Stephanie’s friendship is more authentic. She hasn’t known Charlotte as long as Allie, but their mothers are both PTA moms so they see each a lot. She genuinely likes Charlotte despite her flaws and is quick to forgive her of minor wrongdoings. She’s very religious and isn’t afraid to make it known. She’d much prefer to be in one of the school’s plays than on the cheer squad, a secret she keeps from both Charlotte and Allie, as both are quick to scorn the drama geeks.

i redrew this ancient as fuck picture of James and Travis, some of my oldest and favorite OCs. 9 years of improvement! I’m excited to see how much farther I can progress!

here’s Zaine (left) and Michelle (right)

They look like they’re related, and many people think they are, but they will assure you, they are not. No, they’re not dating either, how dare you ask that.

Zaine and Michelle are both part of a band called The Victorious Dead. They were seniors when Travis was a freshman, but all three became good friends through shared music and fashion tastes. Even though they graduated two years ago and are busy with college and TVD, they still keep in touch with Travis and often sneak him into the bars where they’re performing. Zaine also buys Travis cigarettes.

Zaine suffers from generalized anxiety and copes with it by smoking and creating music. He has the worst resting bitch face, but is actually quite open to socializing. He has poor self esteem and really only feels confident when he’s on stage.

At first, Michelle seems to be a bit of an ice queen. She’s very reserved in public, but is relaxed and even goofy around her friends and people she trusts. She’s rather sweet and protective, and worries a lot about how other people see her and what they might think about her.

Connor is Alabaster High School’s quarterback. He’s arrogant, stubborn, narcissistic, and a huge bully. He tends to get away with a lot of shit because he’s the quarterback, and he definitely abuses his position on the team in a variety of ways, such as threatening his fellow students to do his homework and manipulating his teachers to pass him in class.

Blake is Alabaster High School’s offensive tackle. He’s a quiet, but charming person, and very dedicated to the things he’s passionate about. While he’s not really a Bully™, he does occasionally bully people, and he (as well as James) sometimes turns a blind eye to Connor’s own bullying.

Can I just say that it's incredible how much your art improved since you posted the character designs 8 months ago? Especially anatomy and proportions. Travis in his work uniform looks amazing! Keep up the good work, I'm super excited to see more!

aww thank you!! i actually noticed too while drawing Travis, because I kept bringing up his design for reference (yo, anyone else forget how to draw ur OCs?) i’m super happy with my progress, and i’m also excited to post more in the future! :> thank you again!! <3

Charlotte works both as a part time model and a part time dishwasher after school; her paychecks from modeling are closely monitored by her parents, who don’t know she has a second job. Everything she makes as a dishwasher goes directly into a secret piggy bank she calls her “run away fund”.

Travis works several jobs during the summer to help his mother pay the bills, despite her reluctance to accept his help and insistence that he should just enjoy his adolescence. One of his jobs as a server at a restaurant called Nico’s will be important to the story.

The only child of a well off, but not particularly rich, family. His father, who is a retired coach now working a low-stress office job, is very overbearing. He insists James try out for every sport every school year, even if they conflict with the other sports he plays or other responsibilities. While James likes most of the sports he participates in, he really only cares about football. James’s mother is a wedding planner who works from home; though she treats it more like a hobby than a job since his father doesn’t want a working wife. She isn’t as demanding as her husband, but is still rather insistent James continue to play sports, and agrees with his father that he should look into a football scholarship. He’s much closer with his mother than with his father, and the two have made a habit of venting their frustrations with the man with each other.

With all the practices James has to be at, he doesn’t have much time left for hobbies or a traditional after school job, but he does get paid to tutor some of the neighborhood kids.

James talks about going to Oklahoma State University for their football program and being a pro football player for a living, just to keep his old man happy, but he really wants to be a teacher instead. He plans on moving out as soon as he can and going to Fort Hays to get his teaching degree.

Travis is the youngest child of a struggling family. His father passed away when he was very young, leaving his mother with two children to care for on her own. His mother, who dropped out of nursing school when she got pregnant with her first son, now works three minimum-wage jobs to make ends meet. Travis’s older brother still lives at home in order to help his mother pay the bills and for Travis’s schooling. While his brother can be a little distant at times, both Travis’s mother and brother love him a lot, and ensure Travis knows this, especially after they fight (mostly about money). Travis wants nothing more than to help his family with his expenses, but whenever he offers, they refuse, wanting Travis to have a normal adolescence where he doesn’t have to worry about the bills.

Travis doesn’t have many hobbies, as most of his free time outside of school and summer vacation is spent working. He does have a talent for transforming thrifted clothing into wearable pieces, a talent he doesn’t acknowledge as a talent. The majority of his wardrobe was thrifted or DIY.

Travis doesn’t know what he wants to do for a living – all he knows is that he wants it to pay well so his mother and brother never have to worry about money again.
