Tyu's Company is an alternative science fiction short film. In dystopian London of the future, where citizens of 'The Glorious State' live isolated existences, the online world is the only world known to humanity. STATEMENT FROM NICOLAS KENT (Artistic Director of Tricycle) - March 2012 “The Art’s Council’s funding to the Tricycle theatre this year will decrease by £35,000, compared to what was received in 2010 – 2011. Such funding cuts by the ACE are made all the more difficult by the fact that local authority funding has also been lost as a result of government spending cuts. - Nicolas Kent "Although almost all arts institutions have received some reduction to their grants; it will have a more profound effect on the smaller, regional theatres, which have been disproportionately cut compared to larger national institutions. Such larger establishments are not as significantly affected, as a much smaller proportion of their budget is reliant upon funding from local authorities. A further issue is that such institutions are in a better position to be able to fundraise commercial, business and private philanthropic funds compared to smaller arts companies because sponsors are more likely to want to be associated with a more high- profile established institution. Inevitably this diminution in subsidy will lead to fewer risks being taken, less adventurous work and fewer opportunities for new and exciting talent. In the end the arts in Britain will be the loser both creatively and financially.”

Andrew Watson, a 23 year old businessman is carrying an overbearing guilt that is eating away at his very existence. Leading two different lives, he is failing to get a grip on either. At the root of his problem is finding himself torn between two women; one being his disabled mother who is solely dependent on her son, the other, Jill (a fellow co-worker), who provides Andrew with an opportunity of a possible future of independence. Andrew is conflicted psychologically. Trying to balance both these lives seemingly puts grave strain on both relationships and his working life. His mother, when left unattended, is accident-prone leading Andrew to be consumed with fear of separation from his mother. This leads him to symptomatically return to the role of a child.

Tim Porter's Juggling is a dark, unflinching and disturbing experience. A hybrid of several genres and constantly challenging audience expectations, the less you know about it the stronger the effect.

In an on going dream Billy starts to project his negative thoughts from reality into a horrible living nightmare, which harbours his most inner fears for an event which could have a massive bearing on Billy's future.

Silk Memoirs

Silk Memoirs is a photographic silk scarf collection in which the hidden collections belonging to my Grandparents, Geoff and Victoria Skittrall have been an inspiration.

In October 2011, as Geoff and Vicky were moved into a care home I discovered two collections in my grandparents wardrobes whilst taking an inventory of their possessions. In my grandfathers’ cupboard I found books filled with photo negatives from the couples travels around the world, most of which have never been seen. In my grandmothers’ room I found a drawer filled with beautiful silk scarves, each one is completely unique and like the photographs, they are from all around the world: Rome, Kenya and even Iran.

By bringing these two collections together, the photographs and the silk scarves, I intended to merge the lives, loves and memories of my grandparents through a beautiful and delicate medium as a tribute to them and their 61 years of marriage.

It is a project that will keep their collections combined forever, even after their house and belongings have been sold. Even after they pass away, this project will be their silk memoirs.

Wanderlust down the Lea is a self-ironic online travelogue of an investigation of the life along the River Lea. Flowing from Luton through Hertfordshire to East London where it reaches the River Thames, the landscape along the river reveals remains from a distant past.

Two Germanic Romantic heroines embark on a quest to complete their ‘Waltz’ before returning home. Exploring the life of a river in foreign lands they come across pure ancient marshland juxtaposed with new mysterious constructions and objects, industrial past and Olympic developments. They started their journey to soak into the uncontrollable, ineffable and powerful entity of nature but with all their desire to maintain their vision they could not help but notice some obvious inconsistencies within their perception and the encountered. They speak to animals and ask questions to the people they encounter on the way ranging from anglers, walkers, bird watchers, story tellers and local people to find a new way of understanding the past and the unfamiliar present.
