this account has been largely inactive lately, but I still love Irene, so if anyone wants to rp you can email [email protected] and we can work something out. if you don't want to email directly, I've set up notifications to email me whenever I get messages, replies, and follows.
Seven.
Toft arrived precisely at seven, because on odd occasions, she was exceedingly punctual—especially if confusing ladies who made her stomach go all fluttery were involved. The place Irene had picked was just across from Toft’s shop, so there was no risk of getting lost, and she’d been able to walk from her flat—easy, simple, good. She liked that. She liked that Irene had been so decisive, had taken the situation in hand and put everything so simply.
It wasn’t that Toft was slow or weak or indecisive (well, maybe a bit of the latter), it was just that she liked so many things and wanted to do so much that choosing just one plan was sometimes difficult. Perfect example: getting dressed. She’d tried on at least five different dresses before settling on the one she wore. It was just knee-length and long sleeved, deep burgundy, and held tight at the waist with a belt. To that was added a pair of riding boots, a short twist to keep her hair out of her face, and voi la: presentable Toft.
Speaking of presentable, Irene looked like a fairy story. Pale skin and white dress, red lips and eyes that spared no one the intensity of her gaze, she reminded Toft of something she should be frightened of. Maybe she was, but didn’t that just make it all the more thrilling? After all, she knew Irene was perfectly pleasant. She couldn’t help looking so devastatingly gorgeous that it was actually intimidating.
Still, Toft made her way to the sea-creature table, all smiles and fluttering nerves.
“Oh, goodness, you look—I mean, there—it’s—I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to keep you waiting.”
As Toft approached, Irene looked her up and down without pretense before fixing her eyes on the girl's golden, elfin face.
"Don't worry about it," she purred, with the flick of an eyebrow. "I can be patient."
She uncrossed her legs and rested her head on folded hands, elbows on the menu, now disregarded. She'd been studying it as she waited, though it only took her a couple of minutes to choose her meal. After that, she'd watched the people in the cafe, eavesdropped on conversations, had to stop herself laughing once or twice.
She had fixed her gaze on Toft, now, and felt a slight tugging in her chest. It was hunger. She was predatory, eyeing the soft flesh of wan cheeks and upper arms. She found herself caring less and less about the dinner they were to be having.
She had a strong feeling that Toft would prove to be more than capable of keeping up whatever pace Irene set, her tendency for verbal stumbling notwithstanding.

Ah! Thank you. I’ve just found the perfect hue of lipstick. One can never go wrong with blood red. It rather makes me feel like Snow White.
Speaking of, care for an apple?
Oh, blood’s always perfect. It’s…you really are beautiful.
Ah! No, thank you. I’m not hungry for apples.
Oh? I thought I heard you say something about being hungry earlier. You could come home with me and I could... cater to your tastes. I've just been out shopping.

opulenthurricane replied to your post: Quite alright, shop girl?
Deathly bored. Anything I can do for you? You look rather… pale.
Hah! No, no. I’m…I’m fine. You smell—I mean, you…you look very palatable—pretty! You look very pretty, today.
