“This asshole…” she flipped the image over a moment to see if anything was written on the back and if there was perhaps some secret message, “Why is he sending little photos? He’s cute though, right?” the Princess waved the picture over her shoulder a moment to one of the few maidens who had the lucky few hours of tending to the Princess and her quarters.
“It is hard to imagine life without him now and he is extremely attentive. It makes me wonder who would have seen him as I did and do now had I not have been so forward with my intentions prior” tapping her chin, Cressida smiled, “A curious thought none the less as he IS close friends with my brother A’aris.”
Inhaling deeply she slowly tucked the picture away though this time this one did not make the drawer like all the others or were sent in the mail for her brother to receive. Instead, Queseon’s picture was carefully tucked between brass and the glass of her vanity’s mirror.
This one stayed.

Another Day.
The Oracle’s life had become busy- hectic. Not quite chaotic, but damn close. He spent his days moving through the palace between A’aris’ room, ensuring his best friend was alright, keeping him company and the like. But also taking care of Cressida and her illness. She was not getting better and it was starting to truly concern him. His woman had no handmaiden, thus he’d taken up the reigns alongside her sister, Orabel, of ensuring she received all the care and comfort she possibly needed, avoiding any and all contact with her coughing and sneezing fits as they arose. As the princess slept, Seon found himself settled in the chair next to her bed, watching the gentle rise and fall of her chest as she rested peacefully. He’d brushed her hair that evening, made sure she stayed hydrated and ate something, even if it was not much. He took the time to ensure she was pampered as well as he could, even if it was just a measly cold. Seon had not been home in days, having taken the baby octopi, Squirt, with him to reside within Cressida’s room while he watched over her. The little bonded creature was beyond excited to see the Princess, even so much as wanting its water-filled bed near her side. If Cressida had had a handmaiden, he would have found himself home more, he was certain. But the thought crossed his mind that he was doing a pretty damn good job of filling in for one. The thought made his lips quirk upward into a soft smile as he let his milky gaze settle on his love’s resting visage. They’d been gifted the privilege of being allowed to court and that had utterly thrilled him, his heart swelling even further that he no longer had to hide his affections for she was his woman. With a gentle huff of a breath, Seon tilted his head back to stare up at the ceiling of Cressida’s room, eyes roaming over the intricate details and designs. He’d become familiar with the setting in the last few days, filtering in and out as time and energy permitted, not being too far from her for too long lest she needed something. The spirits were nagging at him that something was off, but he could not place it. Seon only felt their foreboding clamoring at his sense whenever the Sight came over him. But it was garbled and hard to decipher. With a raising of his hand and a light growl, he brought thumb and forefinger up to press firmly at his forehead, easing the stress away from behind his eyes. O F F I C I A L RECRUITMENT~
The City of Merrai is a an independent ROLE PLAY community using discord.
I say independent because we operate under our own fan-made lore and do not actively interact with the wow-verse as a whole despite being set in it. While we can role play with people (guilds and individuals) if they want us to be a part of their canon, they MUST accept our canon as well. We encourage guilds and individuals, horde and alliance, to involve us if you so wish. We also accept AU versions of your WoW OC’s.
I only have two rules for joining.
Be 18+ and use common sense (don’t be a dick).
The main thing to know before you join is you are responsible for your own role play. If you want rp, reach out and get it. I will not be blamed for lack of rp and I do exhibit a bit of tough love on that front (sorry in advance<3). Since it is on discord it is easier for most people to rp on, it’s still important to remember that we are still all adults with lives and real life obligations which obviously come first. Also it helps to acknowledge that we are still fairly new and still working out a few kinks as they come.
Here is a google doc detailing most of our ooc channels and all of our ic channels so you can get a peek of just how extensive we are.

The City of Merrai is a kingdom full of mermaids and naga alike situated in the Veiled Sea between Teldrassil and Bloodmyst Isle. They are ruled by Nimue and her family. The sky is the limit on what you can create with us. We have old god priestesses to blood witches to oracles to huntresses to pirates. Good and evil. It is a living, breathing society with shop slice of life rp, ship (actual ships and relationships) rp, legal/trial rp, and everything in between. As long as it follows the lore, it can be rped.
We have multiple pre-established relationships and other avenues to get you started however you wish, whether it’s being thrown to the wolves or splash around in the kitty pool first. The potential possibilities are endless.
Here is the lore doc that I have made and am adding on to when things come up as we go. It’s still a WIP, and always will be.
And here is the directory of all of the active mermaids. Mind you there are also pirates in the server but they are not on this page.

Our current plot is the Crimson Sickness. It only started a few days ago but there’s plenty of fun (angsty) twists to be had. Everyone is involved in one way or another.

I have some story ideas I just need a group of ‘land walkers’ to help me fulfill it! The general ideas are: a group accidentally sees some mermaids and tries to capture them for whatever reason, they actively seek out the mermaids for their magic or treasure and wish to trade/make a deal or try to take it by force, or they are sailing and become the target of a mermaid attack (lots of angst). There’s also a way for old god cultists to get involved (because mermays worship N'zoth, naturally).
