Experience the art of jazz in South Bend, in an intimate space that is affordable and family friendly. One of the objectives is to bring professional jazz artists to downtown South Bend, and provide an affordable venue for people to experience the art of jazz. The venue also nurtures local jazz talent.

Another goal of Merrimans' Playhouse is to offer a venue which breaks down as many barriers as possible in our community (age, culture, socioeconomics, gender, etc.). Interviews with the composer and members of Third Coast take you behind the scenes and discuss the process of creating the work, discusses insight into various aspects of the bells used for this piece, and presents performance video from their premier at the University of Notre Dame.

"And Then You Move On" is an inspiring portrait rendered from real life experiences and heart-wrenching emotions. Bowman Creek has been deemed one of Indiana's and the nations most negatively impacted natural waterways. In the last half of the twentieth century careless industry and the rapid expansion of South Bend have left sections of Bowman Creek flowing through a mangled mess of conduits.

Over one hundred years ago, renowned landscape architect George Kessler included Bowman Creek in his innovative urban park designs for South Bend. Today it is in ruins serving as little more than a trash dump. Much of this ancient waterway has been relegated to underground tubes, hidden beneath streets and parking lots, prohibiting a natural ecosystem from developing and flourishing.

Bowman Creek is an asset to the community, and there is hope that it can be revived as a clean, safe, aesthetic attraction to local parks, neighborhoods, walkways, and the backyards of residents on the South side of South Bend. This five minute documentary highlights the history, current status, and hopeful future of the creek.
