To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
I was going to share some images, but just couldn't decide on one. Oh, Pioneer is just the best website. I just want to jump inside.
Today I Am Grateful For
sweet and happy co-workers
my growing garden (I see radish and spinach sprouts!)
autumn mornings
my dear love
learning to recognize contentment
an increasing sense that I can control my actions and activities rather than responding only to circumstances. I have agency - how shall I use it?
Happiness Is
coffee and toast on my porch on a cool, sunny, October morning. Listening to: birds, windchimes, traffic white noise.
Doors flung wide, listening to the rain. #summersounds
There is a nest of doves on top of the cross walk sign at 17th and Lavaca. This morning, I saw a mom and 2 babies.
Today I Am Grateful For
my brother.
I adore these planters! The row of faces (at least) is by Atelier Stella London: https://www.etsy.com/shop/AtelierStellaLondon
Recently I posted a picture of myself in my kitchen, and I immediately started receiving generous messages from people wanting to help me “update” it. Along with their messages came pictures of how my kitchen could look, if I’d just put some effort and money into it. I’ve always loved my kitchen, but after seeing those pictures I found myself looking at it through new, critical eyes.
Speaking of gratitude...I recently stumbled across this blog post. Beautiful perspective and a powerful reminder of how lucky we are to have so many of the things that we take for granted!
Today is the beginning of a one-month challenge to avoid buying coffees out. While I love the routine of picking up a coffee on the way to work each morning, it is an expense that can easily snowball. And so, I have decided to replace that habit with a new one. For the next month, I will make coffee at home each morning and carry with me to work in a thermos.
Today I Am Grateful For
a lovely evening with my love watching an outdoor performance of Oklahoma
a strong body and mind
the memories that I have made with all of the people whose lives have been intertwined with mine at some point in my life
the peace of this moment
a horizon that holds new possibilities
Happiness Is
the sounds of an approaching thunderstorm, a cool breeze, and the smell of blueberry crumb bars baking.
Happiness Is
beginning new routines. This morning, coffee made at home and a green smoothie for breakfast. Also, I have kale in my teeth.
Cute planters.
Beautiful, handmade sign that Chris made this weekend. He made a whole series of these for his school.
