I think they should block the suez canal with a second boat just for fun.
This is about Sci-Hub. yeah we get it.. gatekeep knowledge and protect the interests of capital…
Listen, this is serious.
Do not use the website called Sci-Hub!
It lets people access scientific articles for free. This is dangerous. It helps the free flow of knowledge and reduces the competitive edge of all the people who worked really hard to have been born into a wealth.
Like, it’s literally a website where you can type in the DOI of an article and read it, without ever having to pay the publisher who exploited the author.
So, again, do not, under any circumstance, use Sci-Hub. I mean, can you imagine a world where knowledge is free and easily accessible to everyone? Even, y'know, poor people?
Libgen also has many books online, including textbooks, searchable by name, author, and ISBN. Can you imagine textbook companies not getting their hard-earned income from poor college students? Here is the link just so you make sure that you never accidentally stumble across this horrible, unethical website.
Oh, and while we’re talking about books, if you’ve managed to stay clear from Libgen, definitely don’t go to zlibrary, where you can also find a lot of textbooks, but unfortunately they’re completely free.
nooo don’t use sites that make academic papers accessible to everyone, why would you do such a terrible thing

lately ive been feeling under the clouds. don’t feel motivated to do anything nor have the drive to move forward. however, just journaling and tearing random pages from my fav books makes me feel a bit productive. what do u think about this spread? I personally fell in love with it, especially the watercolor background.
9.22.2020 | How are we doing? I hope you’re hanging in there. I’m trying to. I’m now well into my fifth week of law school and starting to feel less overwhelmed, but it’s still so stressful! But as long as we’re trying our best!
A spread I made about the game we had during our spiritual retreat where we wrote comments about each other in a post-it note and we stick it to the person who we would like to give it. I’ve been very busy these days with deadlines piling up plus my undergrad thesis is not thriving and the semester is already ending in like two weeks.

i think social media spectacle brain leads to people playing down the transphobia of jk rowling because it reduces her to just somebody who is transphobic on twitter (large amounts of people are this unfortunately) and a fantasy author whose books are full of reactionary garbage and prejudice (the fantasy genre is full of authors like this, unfortunately) while ignoring the fact that she’s a billionaire celebrity using her enormous amounts of social and financial capital to actively campaign for restrictions on the human rights of trans people in a country that’s currently undergoing a massive anti-trans moral panic and which has recently seen serious rollbacks in the right of trans people to transition. she’s more than just a problematic fantasy author who is a bigoted asshole, she’s actually putting her money where her mouth is to ensure that her bigotries become actual public policy.
This is super important. I put Rowling in the same column as Orson Scott Card, who was working to re-establish the death penalty for homosexuality in Uganda and other African countries. Problematic faves are one thing; at some point you’re the guy collecting GWB’s paintings.
this queen has helped us all through so much
