i'm not going to number this because it's hardly an entry. the kitchen is empty though, for that one person who was wondering.
...
orbit finds a tap and sticks their head underneath, switching the water on. it's cold. their hat seems to be getting wet as well, but they don't care enough to move it.
' why is there. . . Water running , im sure others would have turned it off.. '
Glimmer quietly walked into the kitchen. Scanning around quietly, for the sound of the running tap . She quietly muttered things to herself at the sound of it.
' why would ANYONE leave the tap on for so long '
“ Helloooooo ! Anytoon in hereeee .. "

orbit quickly moves to stand, smacking their head into the still-running tap. ouch! they hiss and shut off the water, whipping around in shock. water dripped from the top of their head and their hat.
they stare at glimmer, unmoving with eye narrowed. it was late, wasn't it? what was she doing up? and, more importantly, who on earth was she?
the question sits heavy in their mind, but their mouth remains closed - all they really do is stare, waiting for her to either speak or walk away.
she snaps her head over to the noise that came form orbit hitting their head into the sink. Widening her eyes a bit at the sight of them, her mood quickly changing from confusion to slight shock
“ oh there is some toon here! Hi , i don't think I've seen you ? “ ”At all.”
she tilts her head looking at orbit , slightly examining their exterior through the darkness in the room . Her eyes widening as they adjusted to the darkness, making out orbits figure
“So im guessing you were the toon using the sink. “
orbit shakes their head and then nods, slow. they move their tail, putting the end - a softly glowing star - in front of them to illuminate the area. they scoot away from the sink, then gesture to it from beneath their blanket. 'it's open now,' they think, 'go ahead.'
they inch away from glimmer, then behind a counter. their gaze remains fixed on her, only breaking for a moment to make sure they wouldn't stumble over an open cabinet door by their legs. they stand still, hovering a towel off of the counter and placing it on their head. truly, it did nothing to sop up the water just by sitting there.
She watched orbit scoot away from her , turning her gaze onto the sink. Snickering slightly as she walked towards it , pulling her gloves off and arm warmers up to wash her hands
“ not talkative, its ok! Ive met plenty.. “
“I was gonna make something for Only me . “ ”But uhh, would you like any? Thinking of making a pasta of some sorts.”
she looked over at them , or at-least tried to. When she spotted them she looked at them questionably. Squinting through the darkness yet again.
they think for a moment, then furiously shake their head. they were sure she was just being polite, but a complete stranger offering them a cooked meal? no thanks. they didn't think she was a bad cook by any means, considering they'd only just met her, but they weren't going to take any chances.
feeling bad for declining her offer so certainly though, orbit turns away and begin rummaging around in the cabinet by their feet. the towel slides off their head when they bend over and they don't make any effort to actually retrieve it once more.
where... there! they come back up, a green box surrounded by faint blue sparkles in the air in front of them. they turn it upside down and shake it out onto the counter, two protein bars falling out.
they hold out one of them to her, trying to make up for what probably seemed like them being rude. they weren't sure if she could see it very well, so they tried to move just a bit closer - just a bit.
She shrugged off orbit declining the free food ' Eh probably for the best they do seem really cautious ' . Pulling her hands out of the sink , she wiped them onto herself to get the water off of them. Turning her attention to orbit shortly after she finished.
she tilted her head, watching orbit dig through that cabinet. Wonder why they took a bit to get.. a container? She watched them turn the container over and watched the protein bars fall out. Her eyes widened a bit, was that all that they ate?
she looked at the protein bar that was offered to her , slowly reaching her hand out and grabbing it. “ Haha, thanks ! Is this.. all you eat? “ she took a bite out of it, breaking it in half a few crumbs dropped onto her but its nothing much . “ do you , have any other things you eat? Other than these uh, protein bars. “
they stare blankly at her for a minute, stepping back to maintain distance while tucking the second protein bar under their blanket. of course they ate other stuff. like chocolate, and candies, and sometimes boxes of cereal. they nod.
"ch-" they clear their throat. "chocolate." it was hardly audible, and they cringed at the rasp in their voice. they pursed their lips, looking around. they hadn't realized how dry their mouth was, nor had they had to think about how long it'd been since they spoke last.
there was a limited assortment of dishes on the shelf above their head, and certainly there had to be at least one mug with a toons face on it that had made it's way into the kitchen. there was also though a bottle of pop on the desk in their room. they looked past glimmer to the doorway - they couldn't just climb into the vent in the kitchen in front of glimmer, that'd be weird. but if they left swiftly and found their way into one in another room, that'd be fine. and normal.
their gaze flicked back to the toon in front of them. had she introduced herself? orbit sifted through the fuzz in their head to try and remember if she'd said her name and they'd just spaced the interaction, but they couldn't find it. and they knew for certain they'd not said anything else at all. would it be worse to walk away from a stranger or someone you knew vaguely?
their eyes lost focus as they mulled over the dilemma in their mind.
She looked at orbit , trying to read their lips through the darkness. Squinting a bit as she made out what orbit said. Taking note of that! Maybe for another interaction? She doesn’t know .
“ mmhmm, barely heard ya but thats alright!" She smiled, putting one of her hands behind her neck as she took another bite out if the protein bar. Noticing that orbit was zoning out , she had finally realized, she never introduced herself " oh uhh , yeah! Hmm. Did i ever get your name? Mines is glimmer !"
She tried to keep her voice low , but loud enough to catch their attention as to not scare them . Shes making a good first impression right?
they blinked, refocusing their gaze. what was it? she... barely heard them? damn. they looked away, feeling a bit embarrassed. really, they couldn't tell how loud they were when they spoke. it never seemed like enough, but they didn't want to be yelling either...
their vision locked onto her as they rolled her name around in their mind. glimmer. glimmer. glimmer. they'd have to remember that. they'd try, anyways. though they thought the chances of the two ever meeting again were low: they'd not seen her once before now, and they were fumbling the interaction pretty terribly. it was probably better to leave after becoming newly acquainted, they decided.
"orbit." they mumbled, then once more. "orbit. my name. i mean."
the words practically fell out of their mouth. they started slowly scooting away from the countertops. she was going to make herself some pasta, right? they didn't need to be in her way while she was doing that. they were starting to feel the itch of having spent too long outside of their own bubble and they were eager to return to their isolated little corner of the world.
“Thats a really pretty name you got there , orbit ! Dosent ring a bell but its catchy!” She smiled. Pointing finger-guns at orbit in a friendly manner.
”.. oh yeah !” she had a quiet realization on what she came here to do . She was here to make pasta, she got so caught up in talking to orbit she got a bit distracted. She turned her head back to the kitchen like area and then back to orbit
“ did you wanna stick around to watch me make pasta or are ya’ goin soon ?” She offered , usually she would have made it alone but she thought it would be kind to offer. And if they said no ? Well she’d just make it alone.
orbit blinked at the finger guns and did not return the gesture. they thought their name was pretty average, actually, if a bit disconnected. astro's name made sense- astro, like star, or outer space; as opposed to orbit, which many things did.
glimmer's name was a verb too, if they thought about it. but it seemed more attached. glimmer, like glisten, like shining light and reflections and catching attention -
realizing they'd once again spaced out and missed glimmer's question, they stepped closer to her, away from the doorway, and furrowed their brows. their shoulders raised and they hunched over a bit, how could they be so rude to a stranger? they nodded at whatever she'd said, while hoping they'd not agreed to do anything drastic like distract the beasts on floors below or help her make her meal.
” alrighty then ! “ she beamed, smiling happily at orbits response. Not the first time she had someone in the middle of the night accompanying her to make food, and it sure as hell won’t be her last. She gestures for orbit to come a bit closer, wanting to make sure they got the full idea of how she cooks.
Opening a cupboard she dragged a small stepping stool from out of it , setting it near the counter and standing onto it. she thought to herself on what ingredients she could need , jotting that info down in her head before turning back to what she was going to do.
“Now uh. Where do I start “ she muttered quietly as she scanned around the kitchen, looking for the nearest pot and pan for what she might be cooking up tonight. “ ah- there it is” spotting one of the clean pots in the kitchen. She grabbed it, filling with water before setting to a stove which she lit shortly after setting the pot atop it.
She looked around the kitchen once again , grabbing the salt from off of the counter and then sprinkling it into the pot. Leaning over the soon to be boiling pot. She grabbed the cover for the pot and put it on , leaving it to start boiling .
at the beckoning hand orbit inches closer and closer until they bump the counter, which makes them scoot back a bit. they really have to pay more attention to these things.
their eyes follow glimmer's every movement. something about her cooking was making them nervous, and they wanted to make sure nothing... weird happened. also, why on earth was she putting salt in the boiling water? water doesn't taste like anything, does it?
they had the fleeting thought to stick their head under the sink and find out, but their still-heavy hood and their lack of desire to do anything about it reminded them why that probably wouldn't be a great idea.
they looked up at the cupboards they could see, sparkly blue magic surrounding the handle of a door that slowly creaked open. was there even any pasta to be had?
she glanced at orbit from the corner of her eye, keeping not of what they were doing every so often. “Do you eat anything else other than the uhh, granola bars?” .. she continued cooking, getting up and reaching further into the cupboard — Reaching the back of it rather quickly , she felt around before pulling out a bag of decently sized bow looking pieces of pasta .
“ not forcing you to answer or anything, moreso just curious ..” setting the bag of pasta onto the counter— she reached-back into the cupboard soon after she grabbed a bottle of oil out of the same cupboard. Setting it next to the pasta. She quietly hummed to herself as she did.
she shifted about rather quickly looking — for something else. She knew she had put it here, she just couldn’t find it right now.
"chocolate." they repeated, nodding. orbit tried to think of all the things they ate other then chocolate. candies for sure, sometimes basic flakes, but usually protein bars... "protein bars are- they're good, though."
the cupboard closed when glimmer stepped away. apparently there was pasta! orbit just didn't see it. they raised an eyebrow at glimmer's looking about and leaned forward, moving closer while staying behind the counter.
"?"
”huh ! Nothing else??” She questioned, still digging through the cabinets for what she needed. “Aha! “ she got ahold of what she was looking for— a small bag of thyme . Wonder why she keeps it so far back in the cabinets..
she pulled it out , dropping it onto the counter. Soon after she grabs an abundance of seasonings and other things of the such. Black pepper — garlic powder — whatever you can think of.. setting them onto the counter aswell.
She got off the stepping stools and stoped digging through the cabinets . Closing the door of it and turning to the fridge . Surely it’ll have some of the things she needed.
walking over to the fridge , she yanked it open scanning for any form of sauce she can add into it
her growing collection of ingredients had orbit in a daze. was there really all of that hiding in the kitchen? how come they didn't know any of it was there?
actually, they knew why. every time they entered the kitchen, it wasn't for much longer than a few minutes - and every time, they knew where what they wanted would be. in their mind, nothing else was really there except for what they needed. they frowned. they'd eaten things that were really quite tasty before, though had never thought much about the contents of them. they weren't very good at cooking anyways, and didn't think they'd be able to differentiate many spices from one another.
"basic flakes, sometimes." they finally respond after a moment of thought dedicated to regathering their list. "candy." they pursed their lips. shouldn't they ask glimmer something too? that would be polite. but they were horrible at speaking, worse at holding a proper conversation, and the words felt like mush in their head. how do you be polite when you've not had practice in forever?
"mmm... do you-" they stopped, blanking on what the end of the sentence should be. they couldn't repeat the question back to her. of course glimmer ate things other than protein bars. she was cooking pasta right in front of their eyes.
"do you like pasta?"
mentally, orbit put their head in their hands. of course she did. she was cooking pasta. right in front of their eyes.
She paused , very audibly holding back a laugh. She giggled — snickered even . The thought of her not liking pasta amused her , and so did the question. “ haha ! Of course i do — Its like my go to food when im both bored and hungry. I do make food for fun and then set it in containers— but i usually eat them before someone gets the chance to even see them “
She pulled a jar of tomato sauce from the back of the fridge, reaching her other hand in and grabbing some form of cheese as-well — she set those on the counter before reaching for an onion and scallions that she had hid behind something . Closing the fridge with her foot and setting them onto the counter.
“ hmm.. well its not only pasta i eat, on the occasion i eat omelette’s — packaged stuff ,, what ever i can cook around here! Or eat for that matter — “ she rubbed the back of her head, scanning the kitchen yet again for some form of pan to cook with.
spotting one of the rimed frying pans, she grabbed it . Lighting the stove below it before walking over to the knife rack and grabbing a rather small knife — not as small as a table knife, but not as big as a cleaver either. She grabbed the onion and started cutting it up, dicing it into decently sized chunks .
orbit hummed in response. glimmer's palate was far more expansive than their own. they only ate prepackaged things, but not very quickly, and...
"sometimes i eat cupcakes." orbit added on, rather flatly. it was the only thing, really, that they would eat other than all the packaged treats they could find around the building. it was very rare though that they would indulge in such a thing, and only when absolutely neccessary. if they thought about the cupcakes too hard, they'd begin to sound unappetizing, and orbit wasn't too keen on cementing in their brain that the one special thing they ate was also probably not very good for them.
they watched glimmer's hand with the knife and the stove carefully. their eyes narrowed as she started to cut the onion, trying to keep a lock on where it was. glimmer was fine, probably fine, but you could never be too cautious. they scooted back a bit, enough to put the length of the counter between them and her.
she continued dicing up the onions , quietly humming as she dose. Intently listening to what orbit says . Trying to hear everything that they say ,simply because of how quiet orbit naturally is. " Ouuu cupcakes are nice ! I dont eat many but i do eat some on occasion "
she picked up the cutting board pushing the diced onions into the frying pan . She flipped her head back to orbit rather quickly, " .. Question," She turned down the stove so that the onions dont cook as quickly " do you like .. little gifts . Like handmade items perchance "
orbit's eyes remain on the knife rested on the counter.
they roll the thought around in their head. they weren't very good at receiving gifts, but gifts were pretty cool when they were the one handing them out. so, technically, they do like little gifts. handmade ones, too.
they nod, mind quickly drifting away to thoughts of little crafts and toys they could make to share with glimmer. a beat of silence, and then-
"i- i think i'm gonna go now." they offer a small smile and a slight nod, which reminds them that their hat is, still, wet. they shake their head a bit so the fuzzy star sits over their shoulder before continuing. "i've got to do... something- but i'll find you again. um... enjoy your pasta!"
with a wave of their tail orbit turns, slinking away into the dim hallway. they think about all the new crafts they could attempt as they head back towards their room, but also about how a nap sounds wonderful. glimmer was nice- but talking to other toons always tired them out.

she shifted about rather quickly looking — for something else. She knew she had put it here, she just couldn’t find it right now.
"chocolate." they repeated, nodding. orbit tried to think of all the things they ate other then chocolate. candies for sure, sometimes basic flakes, but usually protein bars... "protein bars are- they're good, though."
the cupboard closed when glimmer stepped away. apparently there was pasta! orbit just didn't see it. they raised an eyebrow at glimmer's looking about and leaned forward, moving closer while staying behind the counter.

”huh ! Nothing else??” She questioned, still digging through the cabinets for what she needed. “Aha! “ she got ahold of what she was looking for— a small bag of thyme . Wonder why she keeps it so far back in the cabinets..
she pulled it out , dropping it onto the counter. Soon after she grabs an abundance of seasonings and other things of the such. Black pepper — garlic powder — whatever you can think of.. setting them onto the counter aswell.
She got off the stepping stools and stoped digging through the cabinets . Closing the door of it and turning to the fridge . Surely it’ll have some of the things she needed.
walking over to the fridge , she yanked it open scanning for any form of sauce she can add into it
her growing collection of ingredients had orbit in a daze. was there really all of that hiding in the kitchen? how come they didn't know any of it was there?
actually, they knew why. every time they entered the kitchen, it wasn't for much longer than a few minutes - and every time, they knew where what they wanted would be. in their mind, nothing else was really there except for what they needed. they frowned. they'd eaten things that were really quite tasty before, though had never thought much about the contents of them. they weren't very good at cooking anyways, and didn't think they'd be able to differentiate many spices from one another.
"basic flakes, sometimes." they finally respond after a moment of thought dedicated to regathering their list. "candy." they pursed their lips. shouldn't they ask glimmer something too? that would be polite. but they were horrible at speaking, worse at holding a proper conversation, and the words felt like mush in their head. how do you be polite when you've not had practice in forever?
"mmm... do you-" they stopped, blanking on what the end of the sentence should be. they couldn't repeat the question back to her. of course glimmer ate things other than protein bars. she was cooking pasta right in front of their eyes.

She paused , very audibly holding back a laugh. She giggled — snickered even . The thought of her not liking pasta amused her , and so did the question. “ haha ! Of course i do — Its like my go to food when im both bored and hungry. I do make food for fun and then set it in containers— but i usually eat them before someone gets the chance to even see them “
She pulled a jar of tomato sauce from the back of the fridge, reaching her other hand in and grabbing some form of cheese as-well — she set those on the counter before reaching for an onion and scallions that she had hid behind something . Closing the fridge with her foot and setting them onto the counter.
“ hmm.. well its not only pasta i eat, on the occasion i eat omelette’s — packaged stuff ,, what ever i can cook around here! Or eat for that matter — “ she rubbed the back of her head, scanning the kitchen yet again for some form of pan to cook with.
spotting one of the rimed frying pans, she grabbed it . Lighting the stove below it before walking over to the knife rack and grabbing a rather small knife — not as small as a table knife, but not as big as a cleaver either. She grabbed the onion and started cutting it up, dicing it into decently sized chunks .
orbit hummed in response. glimmer's palate was far more expansive than their own. they only ate prepackaged things, but not very quickly, and...
"sometimes i eat cupcakes." orbit added on, rather flatly. it was the only thing, really, that they would eat other than all the packaged treats they could find around the building. it was very rare though that they would indulge in such a thing, and only when absolutely neccessary. if they thought about the cupcakes too hard, they'd begin to sound unappetizing, and orbit wasn't too keen on cementing in their brain that the one special thing they ate was also probably not very good for them.
they watched glimmer's hand with the knife and the stove carefully. their eyes narrowed as she started to cut the onion, trying to keep a lock on where it was. glimmer was fine, probably fine, but you could never be too cautious. they scooted back a bit, enough to put the length of the counter between them and her.
i'm not going to number this because it's hardly an entry. the kitchen is empty though, for that one person who was wondering.

orbit finds a tap and sticks their head underneath, switching the water on. it's cold. their hat seems to be getting wet as well, but they don't care enough to move it.

orbit quickly moves to stand, smacking their head into the still-running tap. ouch! they hiss and shut off the water, whipping around in shock. water dripped from the top of their head and their hat.
they stare at glimmer, unmoving with eye narrowed. it was late, wasn't it? what was she doing up? and, more importantly, who on earth was she?
the question sits heavy in their mind, but their mouth remains closed - all they really do is stare, waiting for her to either speak or walk away.
she snaps her head over to the noise that came form orbit hitting their head into the sink. Widening her eyes a bit at the sight of them, her mood quickly changing from confusion to slight shock
“ oh there is some toon here! Hi , i don't think I've seen you ? “ ”At all.”
she tilts her head looking at orbit , slightly examining their exterior through the darkness in the room . Her eyes widening as they adjusted to the darkness, making out orbits figure
“So im guessing you were the toon using the sink. “
orbit shakes their head and then nods, slow. they move their tail, putting the end - a softly glowing star - in front of them to illuminate the area. they scoot away from the sink, then gesture to it from beneath their blanket. 'it's open now,' they think, 'go ahead.'
they inch away from glimmer, then behind a counter. their gaze remains fixed on her, only breaking for a moment to make sure they wouldn't stumble over an open cabinet door by their legs. they stand still, hovering a towel off of the counter and placing it on their head. truly, it did nothing to sop up the water just by sitting there.
She watched orbit scoot away from her , turning her gaze onto the sink. Snickering slightly as she walked towards it , pulling her gloves off and arm warmers up to wash her hands
“ not talkative, its ok! Ive met plenty.. “
“I was gonna make something for Only me . “ ”But uhh, would you like any? Thinking of making a pasta of some sorts.”
she looked over at them , or at-least tried to. When she spotted them she looked at them questionably. Squinting through the darkness yet again.

feeling bad for declining her offer so certainly though, orbit turns away and begin rummaging around in the cabinet by their feet. the towel slides off their head when they bend over and they don't make any effort to actually retrieve it once more.
where... there! they come back up, a green box surrounded by faint blue sparkles in the air in front of them. they turn it upside down and shake it out onto the counter, two protein bars falling out.
they hold out one of them to her, trying to make up for what probably seemed like them being rude. they weren't sure if she could see it very well, so they tried to move just a bit closer - just a bit.
She shrugged off orbit declining the free food ' Eh probably for the best they do seem really cautious ' . Pulling her hands out of the sink , she wiped them onto herself to get the water off of them. Turning her attention to orbit shortly after she finished.

Is this.. all you eat? “ she took a bite out of it, breaking it in half a few crumbs dropped onto her but its nothing much . “ do you , have any other things you eat? Other than these uh, protein bars. “
they stare blankly at her for a minute, stepping back to maintain distance while tucking the second protein bar under their blanket. of course they ate other stuff. like chocolate, and candies, and sometimes boxes of cereal. they nod.
"ch-" they clear their throat. "chocolate." it was hardly audible, and they cringed at the rasp in their voice. they pursed their lips, looking around. they hadn't realized how dry their mouth was, nor had they had to think about how long it'd been since they spoke last.
there was a limited assortment of dishes on the shelf above their head, and certainly there had to be at least one mug with a toons face on it that had made it's way into the kitchen. there was also though a bottle of pop on the desk in their room. they looked past glimmer to the doorway - they couldn't just climb into the vent in the kitchen in front of glimmer, that'd be weird. but if they left swiftly and found their way into one in another room, that'd be fine. and normal.
their gaze flicked back to the toon in front of them. had she introduced herself? orbit sifted through the fuzz in their head to try and remember if she'd said her name and they'd just spaced the interaction, but they couldn't find it. and they knew for certain they'd not said anything else at all. would it be worse to walk away from a stranger or someone you knew vaguely?
their eyes lost focus as they mulled over the dilemma in their mind.
She looked at orbit , trying to read their lips through the darkness. Squinting a bit as she made out what orbit said. Taking note of that! Maybe for another interaction? She doesn’t know .
“ mmhmm, barely heard ya but thats alright!" She smiled, putting one of her hands behind her neck as she took another bite out if the protein bar. Noticing that orbit was zoning out , she had finally realized, she never introduced herself " oh uhh , yeah! Hmm. Did i ever get your name? Mines is glimmer !"
She tried to keep her voice low , but loud enough to catch their attention as to not scare them . Shes making a good first impression right?
they blinked, refocusing their gaze. what was it? she... barely heard them? damn. they looked away, feeling a bit embarrassed. really, they couldn't tell how loud they were when they spoke. it never seemed like enough, but they didn't want to be yelling either...
their vision locked onto her as they rolled her name around in their mind. glimmer. glimmer. glimmer. they'd have to remember that. they'd try, anyways. though they thought the chances of the two ever meeting again were low: they'd not seen her once before now, and they were fumbling the interaction pretty terribly. it was probably better to leave after becoming newly acquainted, they decided.
"orbit." they mumbled, then once more. "orbit. my name. i mean."
the words practically fell out of their mouth. they started slowly scooting away from the countertops. she was going to make herself some pasta, right? they didn't need to be in her way while she was doing that. they were starting to feel the itch of having spent too long outside of their own bubble and they were eager to return to their isolated little corner of the world.
“Thats a really pretty name you got there , orbit ! Dosent ring a bell but its catchy!” She smiled. Pointing finger-guns at orbit in a friendly manner.
”.. oh yeah !” she had a quiet realization on what she came here to do . She was here to make pasta, she got so caught up in talking to orbit she got a bit distracted. She turned her head back to the kitchen like area and then back to orbit
“ did you wanna stick around to watch me make pasta or are ya’ goin soon ?” She offered , usually she would have made it alone but she thought it would be kind to offer. And if they said no ? Well she’d just make it alone.
orbit blinked at the finger guns and did not return the gesture. they thought their name was pretty average, actually, if a bit disconnected. astro's name made sense- astro, like star, or outer space; as opposed to orbit, which many things did.
glimmer's name was a verb too, if they thought about it. but it seemed more attached. glimmer, like glisten, like shining light and reflections and catching attention -
realizing they'd once again spaced out and missed glimmer's question, they stepped closer to her, away from the doorway, and furrowed their brows. their shoulders raised and they hunched over a bit, how could they be so rude to a stranger? they nodded at whatever she'd said, while hoping they'd not agreed to do anything drastic like distract the beasts on floors below or help her make her meal.
” alrighty then ! “ she beamed, smiling happily at orbits response. Not the first time she had someone in the middle of the night accompanying her to make food, and it sure as hell won’t be her last. She gestures for orbit to come a bit closer, wanting to make sure they got the full idea of how she cooks.
Opening a cupboard she dragged a small stepping stool from out of it , setting it near the counter and standing onto it. she thought to herself on what ingredients she could need , jotting that info down in her head before turning back to what she was going to do.
“Now uh. Where do I start “ she muttered quietly as she scanned around the kitchen, looking for the nearest pot and pan for what she might be cooking up tonight. “ ah- there it is” spotting one of the clean pots in the kitchen. She grabbed it, filling with water before setting to a stove which she lit shortly after setting the pot atop it.
She looked around the kitchen once again , grabbing the salt from off of the counter and then sprinkling it into the pot. Leaning over the soon to be boiling pot. She grabbed the cover for the pot and put it on , leaving it to start boiling .
at the beckoning hand orbit inches closer and closer until they bump the counter, which makes them scoot back a bit. they really have to pay more attention to these things.
their eyes follow glimmer's every movement. something about her cooking was making them nervous, and they wanted to make sure nothing... weird happened. also, why on earth was she putting salt in the boiling water? water doesn't taste like anything, does it?
they had the fleeting thought to stick their head under the sink and find out, but their still-heavy hood and their lack of desire to do anything about it reminded them why that probably wouldn't be a great idea.

orbit quickly moves to stand, smacking their head into the still-running tap. ouch! they hiss and shut off the water, whipping around in shock. water dripped from the top of their head and their hat.
they stare at glimmer, unmoving with eye narrowed. it was late, wasn't it? what was she doing up? and, more importantly, who on earth was she?
the question sits heavy in their mind, but their mouth remains closed - all they really do is stare, waiting for her to either speak or walk away.
she snaps her head over to the noise that came form orbit hitting their head into the sink. Widening her eyes a bit at the sight of them, her mood quickly changing from confusion to slight shock
“ oh there is some toon here! Hi , i don't think I've seen you ? “ ”At all.”
she tilts her head looking at orbit , slightly examining their exterior through the darkness in the room . Her eyes widening as they adjusted to the darkness, making out orbits figure

orbit shakes their head and then nods, slow. they move their tail, putting the end - a softly glowing star - in front of them to illuminate the area. they scoot away from the sink, then gesture to it from beneath their blanket. 'it's open now,' they think, 'go ahead.'
they inch away from glimmer, then behind a counter. their gaze remains fixed on her, only breaking for a moment to make sure they wouldn't stumble over an open cabinet door by their legs. they stand still, hovering a towel off of the counter and placing it on their head. truly, it did nothing to sop up the water just by sitting there.
She watched orbit scoot away from her , turning her gaze onto the sink. Snickering slightly as she walked towards it , pulling her gloves off and arm warmers up to wash her hands

” alrighty then ! “ she beamed, smiling happily at orbits response. Not the first time she had someone in the middle of the night accompanying her to make food, and it sure as hell won’t be her last. Opening a cupboard she dragged a small stepping stool from out of it , setting it near the counter and standing onto it. she thought to herself on what ingredients she could need , jotting that info down in her head before turning back to what she was going to do.
“Now uh. Where do I start “ she muttered quietly as she scanned around the kitchen, looking for the nearest pot and pan for what she might be cooking up tonight. “ ah- there it is” spotting one of the clean pots in the kitchen. She grabbed it, filling with water before setting to a stove which she lit shortly after setting the pot atop it.
She looked around the kitchen once again , grabbing the salt from off of the counter and then sprinkling it into the pot. Leaning over the soon to be boiling pot. She grabbed the cover for the pot and put it on , leaving it to start boiling .
at the beckoning hand orbit inches closer and closer until they bump the counter, which makes them scoot back a bit. they really have to pay more attention to these things.

She watched orbit scoot away from her , turning her gaze onto the sink. Snickering slightly as she walked towards it , pulling her gloves off and arm warmers up to wash her hands

“I was gonna make something for Only me . “ ”But uhh, would you like any? Thinking of making a pasta of some sorts.”
she looked over at them , or at-least tried to. When she spotted them she looked at them questionably. Squinting through the darkness yet again.
they think for a moment, then furiously shake their head. they were sure she was just being polite, but a complete stranger offering them a cooked meal? no thanks. they didn't think she was a bad cook by any means, considering they'd only just met her, but they weren't going to take any chances.
feeling bad for declining her offer so certainly though, orbit turns away and begin rummaging around in the cabinet by their feet. the towel slides off their head when they bend over and they don't make any effort to actually retrieve it once more.
where... there! they come back up, a green box surrounded by faint blue sparkles in the air in front of them. they turn it upside down and shake it out onto the counter, two protein bars falling out.
they hold out one of them to her, trying to make up for what probably seemed like them being rude. they weren't sure if she could see it very well, so they tried to move just a bit closer - just a bit.
She shrugged off orbit declining the free food ' Eh probably for the best they do seem really cautious ' . Pulling her hands out of the sink , she wiped them onto herself to get the water off of them. Turning her attention to orbit shortly after she finished.
she tilted her head, watching orbit dig through that cabinet. Wonder why they took a bit to get.. a container? She watched them turn the container over and watched the protein bars fall out. Her eyes widened a bit, was that all that they ate?
she looked at the protein bar that was offered to her , slowly reaching her hand out and grabbing it. “ Haha, thanks ! Is this.. all you eat? “ she took a bite out of it, breaking it in half a few crumbs dropped onto her but its nothing much . “ do you , have any other things you eat? Other than these uh, protein bars. “
they stare blankly at her for a minute, stepping back to maintain distance while tucking the second protein bar under their blanket. of course they ate other stuff. like chocolate, and candies, and sometimes boxes of cereal. they nod.
"ch-" they clear their throat. "chocolate." it was hardly audible, and they cringed at the rasp in their voice. they pursed their lips, looking around. they hadn't realized how dry their mouth was, nor had they had to think about how long it'd been since they spoke last.
there was a limited assortment of dishes on the shelf above their head, and certainly there had to be at least one mug with a toons face on it that had made it's way into the kitchen. there was also though a bottle of pop on the desk in their room. they looked past glimmer to the doorway - they couldn't just climb into the vent in the kitchen in front of glimmer, that'd be weird. but if they left swiftly and found their way into one in another room, that'd be fine. and normal.
their gaze flicked back to the toon in front of them. had she introduced herself? orbit sifted through the fuzz in their head to try and remember if she'd said her name and they'd just spaced the interaction, but they couldn't find it. and they knew for certain they'd not said anything else at all. would it be worse to walk away from a stranger or someone you knew vaguely?
their eyes lost focus as they mulled over the dilemma in their mind.
i'm not going to number this because it's hardly an entry. the kitchen is empty though, for that one person who was wondering.

orbit finds a tap and sticks their head underneath, switching the water on. it's cold. their hat seems to be getting wet as well, but they don't care enough to move it.
' why is there. . . Water running , im sure others would have turned it off.. '
Glimmer quietly walked into the kitchen. Scanning around quietly, for the sound of the running tap . She quietly muttered things to herself at the sound of it.
' why would ANYONE leave the tap on for so long '
“ Helloooooo ! Anytoon in hereeee .. "

orbit quickly moves to stand, smacking their head into the still-running tap. ouch! they hiss and shut off the water, whipping around in shock. water dripped from the top of their head and their hat.
they stare at glimmer, unmoving with eye narrowed. it was late, wasn't it? what was she doing up? and, more importantly, who on earth was she?
the question sits heavy in their mind, but their mouth remains closed - all they really do is stare, waiting for her to either speak or walk away.
she snaps her head over to the noise that came form orbit hitting their head into the sink. Widening her eyes a bit at the sight of them, her mood quickly changing from confusion to slight shock
“ oh there is some toon here! Hi , i don't think I've seen you ? “ ”At all.”
she tilts her head looking at orbit , slightly examining their exterior through the darkness in the room . Her eyes widening as they adjusted to the darkness, making out orbits figure
“So im guessing you were the toon using the sink. “
orbit shakes their head and then nods, slow. they move their tail, putting the end - a softly glowing star - in front of them to illuminate the area. they scoot away from the sink, then gesture to it from beneath their blanket. 'it's open now,' they think, 'go ahead.'
they inch away from glimmer, then behind a counter. their gaze remains fixed on her, only breaking for a moment to make sure they wouldn't stumble over an open cabinet door by their legs. they stand still, hovering a towel off of the counter and placing it on their head. truly, it did nothing to sop up the water just by sitting there.

i can't get the dripping noise out of my head. i feel like i keep hearing footsteps, but nothing.
this is the worst. the actual worst. i've been sleeping, but not sleeping at all. i'm exhausted. i need a handful of gumballs, or a chocolate bar, or something.
i'm sure if i just look hard enough i can find something to snack on. but staying in my bed and forming a cocoon around myself sounds far more appealing.
i don't even know how to do that, though.
