woke up at 3 am because i had an idea like grug

prey that always catches a specific pred looking at them with stupid lovey dovey eyes but said pred immediately finds the floor interesting after being caught. and it's the dumb, puppy love stare - not weird perv "i need to eat you" stare

and over time the two get to know one another. the prey is neither an extrovert or introvert, just.. lowkey there at college. the pred? suuuper popular guy that can't help but have eyes for someone that isn't sucking up to them. the prey is entirely uninterested until the whole shy staring incidents start up.

stay with me here: they become an uber secret relationship. mostly because a LOT of preds who date prey get nagged about when they'll eat their partner. this pred wants it to be all up to the prey's pace - they put a metaphorical collar on and gave the leash to their partner. lo and behold, some other pred finds out about their relationship and the sweetheart pred has to do the absolute evil to keep their beloved safe. it's not fun for either of them - they prey is hastily stuffed into the belly of the pred, and the pred is weighed down by the guilt of doing the unthinkable. it was a heat of the moment thought.

though, after things settle, the prey understands what happened. the pred sensed a threat and had to do what they thought would keep their beloved safe. it's a bit awkward when the pred is laying on their bed, drumming their fingers nervously on their belly while rambling out apology after apology. it's endearing, really. however, the whole stress of the day has both of them too tired to do much, so they come to an agreement to deal with it all in the morning.

ok back to MY bedtime
