I love this scene. I love how Belle is so confident that a kiss will distract him and Rumple is just SO HOPELESS that he not only gets distracted but chases after her lips, fully leans into the kiss. Their entire dynamic that episode was majestic, full-on “estranged couple who is still very much into each other”. Their banter over using magic to open a locker was priceless.

Skin Deep - End of Act One, Beginning of Act Two, Fairy Tale Land

In the first scene, there is shortening of Belle’s entrance into the Dark Castle. Hence, Rumple’s ‘rather large estate’ is reduced from a never ending selection of doors to a few odd CGI rooms.

The second act features a deleted scene of Belle’s attempt at an escape, which is referenced in the audio commentary as being filmed, but so far no footage seems to have been released publicly.

Skin Deep - Act Three continues...

The Rumbelle Mirror Scene was cut between their discussion of Rumple about being “a monster” and Gaston showing up. It appears with some dialogue in the Fairy Tales in the Modern World special. This part may be considered canon since Rumple referenced his saying to Belle, “I’m a difficult man to love,” in season 6.

 There is also a small part deleted at the end of their scene, just before Belle departs, that can be glimpsed briefly in the Secrets of Storybrooke special. 

Again, there is more improvisations here from the actors. Most well known being the bowing between the two after Rumple gives her the rose. Robert Carlyle even brings up his habit of adding things to scenes during the commentary. Including one humorous take he decided NOT to do during the rose/Gaston cutting scene.

I love that when our fandom writes “dagger play” fics, we tag them with trigger warnings 47 different ways and shyly apologize in the summary “Hey guys, I tried to be reeaaaally careful about xyz…” and Bobby & Em are just like “EQUESTRIAN DARK!BELLE DAGGER TIME TEASING NAILED IT LOLZ.”
