Maybe that was due to the fact that there was a yelling spirit close by, sprouting nonsense about who he is and what had happened to him in a desperate attempt to ensure he stayed remembered (ghosts got a bit whacky after death, sometimes). Maybe it was the fact that he wasn't riding as high today, the crushing weight of his powers ever so present in his life, or maybe it was because this is just what he does. Reckless, self-destructive behaviour with no apparent regard for his own safety. Which included, apparently, taking out his annoyances on a random, dangerous, handsome stranger who clearly was not reacting very well to being called out, out of no where.
