                              mal is no stranger      to running into trouble, it follows him wherever he goes ────── he's quite the master at evading a few hands and their weapons these days  .        ❝         hush .         ❞ he's managed to wrangle in one the crows this time ─── wylan ─── an expert in all things that explode . an expertise he'd never willingly want to dabble in .

            he ducked both their heads      further down the broken stone fence , ensuring that the several ( angry ) roaring voices and their thundering footsteps would all unknowingly pass shortly . alina was wanted and because he associated with her , he was easily put high up on the list of people to capture . ───────── hence why he needed wylan , someone to make a big spectacle of things as a distraction  .        ❝         to be fair ──── when you said explosive , i didn't know i had to be more than thirty feet back .         ❞ mal had gotten too close to the proverbial sun and had knocked the wind out of him .

                                        the pain is excruciating at first .      it sliced through his flesh and muscle like a hot searing iron , and yet the sole memory of discomfort is omitted when the realization that this would be the last time he'd see alina . a gaze so out of focus that even when he does try to pinpoint the finest of her details , he struggles to make out more than the gut wrenching expression . if this was all his life mounted up to then he was pleased at least to aid her when it actually counted  .

                                        and he lets out a chuckle ,      thus only to cough up more of that crimson of which filled up the cavity in his chest  .         ❝         tell me how right i am ────────         ❞ the agony bites at his body when he attempts to adjust himself even in the most slightest of ways ( he may be dying but he'd like to remain semi comfortable ) . ❝ ──────── when we see each other again , yeah ? ❞ dwindling so is he overtaken by a cooling numb . everything is blurry and far away now , him swearing that as he continued to spare a glance at her and the sky ; it had become brighter than it ever was .

wait wait wait, so now people hate on mal being a bad boyfriend because he broke things off with alina… after she killed him…. and he died… and she used merzost to bring him back… and he lost part of himself that he had his entire life

listen, i maybe hate that ending but him needing time from all that shit he just went through, literally living to be a human sacrifice last few days, is one of the most logical things the writers written that day

                                        sturmhond was a moniker      he had yet to familiarize himself with yet . it was so foreign on his tongue that he almost preferred to be called his given name by strangers ──── almost  .        ❝         not entirely my fault .         ❞

                                        once more he's found himself      with a busted lip knelt down in the freshly wet mud , hiding behind a couple of barrels ( pulling lark alongside him , regrettably so ) just to avoid whatever enemies nikolai had managed to make during his run . if there was one thing he should've told him ──────── it should've been the mention of a few groups of people who didn't particularly like the pirvateer's name being tossed around . [ . . . ] apparently some folks preferred pirates over the legal kind  .        ❝         didn't realize i had beef with men three times my size .         ❞
