7th floor had never liked pink. It was one of the colors which he had always disliked. But his opinion on the color started to change when he saw you – suddenly he started to dislike it a little less.
You stood out from the eight people around him immediately. Pink hair and fierce makeup with a sparkly lipgloss which made your lips shine. You had rolled your sleeves up to your elbows, showing the tattoos covering your arms, colored in black and red ink.
7th floor had never seen anyone like you in person, you felt almost unreal – like a cartoon character from a movie. He was drawn to you instantly. What was that feeling? Curiosity, perhaps.
☆☆☆
"What the hell are you wearing?" 2nd floor asked one day, eyebrows furrowed as she, like everyone else, were now looking at you wearing a whole new outfit instead of the white shirt and pants with the number assigned to you.
Pastel pink top which showed your chest a little more (but not being too revealing), drawing 6th floor's eyes on your cleavage. The same color and shade skirt, which reached your knees, to match with the top. And dark red leather combat boots to go with the tattoos scattered all over your arms.
"I upgraded my wardrobe a little! Do you like?" you replied, an excited smile on your face, and did a spin to show your body from every angle to all the others.
"You look amazing!" 9th floor giggled and right after let out a loud gasp, sitting up on the sunbed. "Oh my god, we should totally have our own little fashion show!"
The look on 6th floor's face as he ate you with his gaze made 7th floor grit his teeth and his heart start to beat faster. He wanted to slap 6th floor, mentally undressing you from your new clothes, but he couldn't do that. It would be totally out of character of him to act like that, forcing him to just answer questions he didn't want to start figuring out answers – excuses.
You shot 7th floor a wink which definitely felt personal, like a secret message between just the two of you. That simple gesture and the sweet look on your face made his heart skip a beat and forcing him to swallow the lump in his throat.

While walking up the stairs for the millionth time, you didn't pay much attention to your steps anymore. You were too tired and out of energy, your legs burning and your body just in a severe need of a break. You always pushed yourself over the limit, especially now that you needed to gain more time, which was equal to more money.
"I can't," you panted. "Jesus. Fuck. Hell, god... damn... i can't anymore." You were too out of breath to be even able to curse anymore properly.
7th floor looked at your back, standing some steps behind you at the end of the stairs, him out of breath too but still able to keep going for a little longer. Before he was able to say anything, you tripped on your own feet and stumbled down, completely losing balance. You crashed directly on 7th floor, causing both of you to fall down on the floor.
Then, you were lying on the floor, 7th floor beneath you. You were on top of him, your head resting on his chest.
7th floor let out a wince of pain, mostly on his back.
You locked eyes with each other, for the first time your faces being this close to each other. You were awfully well aware how there was only a few inches between your lips, though that fact made only 7th floor to blush.
"Sorry. Did i hurt you?" you asked, concern clear on your voice, though you didn't get up.
"I'm, uh, i'm fine," he answered, not entirely convincing you, but he didn't want to get anyone worried about him.
You rested your head back on his chest, your body completely limp and relaxed on top of him.
"Um, would you mind to get up?" 7th floor asked.
"Give me just a minute," you mumbled against his chest. "I'm so, so tired. Just a moment. You feel surprisingly comfortable right now."
7th floor was frozen still under you, not knowing what to do or say. Had he ever had before a girl laying on top of him without any warning? Definitely not. It felt rude to just push you away, no matter how much his body hurt right now, and your body radiating warmth all over him felt surprisingly... nice?
Since he didn't say anything back, you lifted your head a little to look at him again. "It was a compliment, you know."
"Uh, thank... you?" he said, a little unsure what to say. He didn't push you away and let you lie there. Truthfully, he needed to lie down too, though preferably without another person's weight on him, but he couldn't find himself to get you off him. His confused mental state making him unable to move his limbs.
Just a minute of rest, you and him.

"You know what i think," you started, leaning against the stairway railing on the 8th floor and looking all over the large room, seeing everything from this height.
"Hm?" 7th floor said, standing right next to you.
"We're just entertainment to some random people. There's cameras everywhere. If there wasn't any cameras, it would be useless to keep us here since they couldn't watch us anymore," you explained.
"I know, i've thought about that as well," he admitted, looking around the place as well. Then, he turned his head towards you, his eyebrows knitted together. "What's your point?"
"I got the idea when i had to undress from my clothes in the room, the sight of it captured in the cameras. I thought like, if only i could break that camera to get some damn privacy so i wouldn't be eyed by some perverts," you said.
7th floor tried to brush off the image of you undressing while nobody else was in the same room. God, don't be so gross, 7th floor thought and shook his head a little – you seemed to catch on that.
"What?" you asked.
"Nothing, nothing," 7th floor mumbled. You eyed him for a moment but let it go after a moment.
"Anyway. If we got bored with this game and really wanted out, we could just blast those cameras broken and walk out," you continued and shrugged.
"I don't want to imagine a situation of someone ordering a gun here," 7th floor said. "Someone would have a bullet in their head because i don't see 8 people being able to fully agree on something. Especially when it comes to money."
"I know," you replied, only two simple words leaving your mouth before you let a silence fall between the two of you.
☆☆☆
"Now, i want the balls 2 and 8..." the 9th floor thought out loud, tapping her lip until a grin spread on her face, "to kiss."
You looked at your ball – the number two marked on it. The person with the number eight turned out to be the 3rd floor whose face was burning red. He swallowed the lump in his throat and got visibly flustered and nervous. Had he ever kissed anyone before?
You got up and walked towards the 3rd floor, standing now right in front of him.
"Come on, don't be nervous," you said with a smile. "It's just a kiss."
It was just a kiss, it didn't mean anything. You had played drinking games before and had been dared to kiss a few people, it wasn't such a big of a deal than what the 3rd floor made it look right now. You kissed and then you moved on; though right now none of you were drunk, that was a clear difference.
You rested your hands on his shoulders, looking him directly into his eyes before you'd lean in, to make sure that he wasn't completely opposed to the act and idea.
Everyone else only looked at you and the 3rd floor, waiting for the kiss to happen – some of them were more eager to witness it than others. Some found it entertaining (9th and 6th floor), some couldn't care less (2nd floor), some felt awkward (1st, 4th and 5th floor) while some absolutely hated it – 7th floor.
He couldn't help but feel his stomach twist and turn into a knot when you stood in front of 3rd floor and held his shoulders with your hands; the same hands which had rested on 7th floor's chest earlier, feeling his rapid heartbeat. He didn't want to look at you right now but he also couldn't take his eyes off you, imagining himself into 3rd floor's place.
Where did that come from, he thought at the image of him being the one to kiss you. It was just for a dare, it wasn't anything serious. This was just a game to gain more hours to all of you.
I'm not jealous, 7th floor thought but he instantly knew that was a lie. He was smart enough to know that what he felt right now, was indeed jealousy – and he hated to feel that way.
You were pretty, smart and even managed to make him genuinely smile which seemed to be hard to achieve.
When the dare – the kiss – was over, and you returned to the spot where you had previously been, sitting on the floor legs crossed, 7th floor avoided eye contact with you. He did notice your head to turn to his way for a second but he refused to look back at you, heart still hammering inside his chest uncomfortably hard.
☆☆☆
Days passed, most of them being almost the same, once in a while the group trying to come up with some activities which could gain you more hours, expanding your stay there and to earn more money.
7th floor was just walking up the stairs towards his room, deep in his thoughts. He looked at his feet and when he reached his room's door, someone was blocking his way.
Before 7th floor could react to what was going on, you grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and forcefully yanked him with you towards the stairs, walking up one floor higher, reaching your room instead.
Once he was inside the room, he stumbled on his feet and nearly fell on the floor but managed to gain his balance back.
The door was slammed closed right after, trapping him inside the dim room which had a thick mattress on the floor along with pink puffy pillows and a pink blanket with heart patterns all over the canvas. He had never been in this room before – well, why would he have, anyway?
That same hand grabbed him again and pushed him now to stand against the wall.
"What –" he started, but it was your turn to speak.
"Why are you avoiding me?" you asked, the tone of your voice strict and loud.
"I'm– i'm not avoiding you," he replied, though actually, he kind of had been avoiding you.
"Bullshit," you spat. Looking at you, many wouldn't believe that such harsh words would be able to leave your mouth, but 7th floor knew better. "You don't talk to me or even look at me anymore. Are you mad at me?"
"Mad, what, no," he stuttered and furrowed his eyebrows.
"Then what is it?" you asked and raised your eyebrows.
Excuse, excuse, excuse, what am i supposed to say? 7th floor thought, his mind completely blank from any little lies he could tell you to convince you that you hadn't upset him or pissed him off. You hadn't. Well, maybe a little but he was just being childish and it was all his fault only.
"Well?" you said, growing frustrated from not getting answers.
He looked directly into your eyes and you looked into his. Then, he did something what he hadn't planned to do. Something reckless what had only lingered inside his mind. Something what might ruin everything but your face was so, so close to his and the urge inside him was so, so damn strong he couldn't fight it anymore.
Without a further thought, he leaned in and closed the small gap between the two of you, pressing his lips on yours.
The kiss didn't last long, only couple of seconds until he pulled his head back. Immediately after the kiss 7th floor realized that he shouldn't have done that. He should not have done that. Why couldn't he have any self-control?
For a second you could only stare at him with wide eyes. Soon enough, the frown turned into a large grin and you started giggling. "Nooow i get it. You were jealous!"
7th floor knew his cheeks were red which made you even more amused. He wanted to deny it but what was the point anymore? You knew that it was true.
"What if i was?" he dared to say and swallowed, lifting his chin a little higher, surprised he was able to get the words out without a stutter.
"Aren't you full of surprises, i hadn't expected to pull this side from this serious shell of yours," you smiled and bit your lip.
Neither had i, 7th floor thought. This wasn't him. If he had met you outside of this place, whatever this show was, he would have never kissed you so suddenly, even if you got to know each other. Here, isolated from the other world... Everything was different.
"Can i try these?" you asked, making him flinche as you suddenly took a hold of the frames of his glasses on both sides of his head but not yet pulling them off.
"Uh, sure," he mumbled. Nobody had ever touched his glasses before.
You put the glasses on to rest on your nose, the room around you turning all blurry.
"Christ, these are strong," you commented. "You can actually see with these?"
The image of you wearing his glasses was unclear, and he wished more than anything to see in more detail what you looked like wearing his glasses. Wearing something that belonged to him.
After a moment of testing his glasses, you gently gave them back to him, laying the glasses to rest on his nose.
"What a twist this show got," you grinned after he was able to see you clearly again and brushed your finger on his neck, nail softly scraping on his bare skin, sending shivers down his spine. "A secret affair behind closed doors. Exciting, huh? I feel like one of those movie characters in rom-coms or celebrities in reality tv-shows."
"Well, this is kind of a reality show," 7th floor stated but then he hang on a few of the words you just said. "Wait, a secret affair? You mean..."
This time, you were the one to grab his face and pull him into another kiss, which lasted a few seconds longer than the first one.
"I mean, that i'd like to do that again," you said quietly, the type of smile on your face which hinted that you were up to no good.
"Oh, um," he said, not knowing what to say; he had never been very smooth with women. "Yeah, I'd like that too."
Now, both of your bodies, you and 7th floor's, were tangled in the bedsheets and each other's limbs while lying on the mattress in your room. His body on top of yours, suffocating you in kisses all over your body.
☆☆☆
Ever since that day of 7th floor kissing you, the two of you had started to sneak around to spend time alone, keeping it all a secret from the others.
How long had it been? Two or three weeks perhaps, you had stopped counting the days weeks ago, never knowing what the current day was – and what did it matter anyway?
You weren't sure if the others suspected of there being something going on between you and 7th floor or if everyone was being completely clueless – which you doubted. You had always been good at keeping secrets, but if your little relationship came up, what did it matter?
Sneaking around and stealing kisses in secret was much more exciting than making it public. And the watchers loved it; attraction between two people completely opposite from each other. Opposites attract after all, do they not?
You smirked at the feeling of something hard pressing against your inner thigh as his lips were on your neck.
Then, a knock on your door, startling both of you out from the trance of pleasure. You exchanged panicked looks and quickly got up from the floor when someone knocked on the door the second time.
7th floor, still hard on his crotch, hid behind the door as you opened it, leaning against the wall. God, his erection was getting almost painful inside his pants which felt now so much tighter.
"We're going to start a discussion downstairs what to do next to get more time since we only have 20 hours right now," the 5th floor explained. "We're missing just you and 7th floor who didn't answer his door."
"I'll be right there, just give me a few minutes," you said and closed the door.
You looked at 7th floor and saw the bulge in his pants and the grimace on his face; the sight of him made you grin.
"Well, you certainly can't leave the room like that, can you?" you asked and bit your lip. "Better be quick before someone comes knocking on the door again."
☆☆☆
"Why are we getting so many hours even though we're not even doing anything?" 1st floor asked, eyebrows knitted together in confusion. Others tended to agree, sharing the confusion with him.
It had lasted for days; getting hours randomly when they barely did anything.
2nd floor looked at you in a little more detail, eyes narrowed with a hunch that something was up with you but couldn't tell what. Even though you stayed calm and clueless, there was something going on behind closed doors.
"What does it matter?" 6th floor scoffed. "Easier for us."
"Well, i suppose..." 5th floor said unsurely.
"I often tend to sleepwalk when i'm sleeping in a strange place. Maybe they find that amusing," you told the others, throwing some idea into the air. It wasn't a lie anyway.
You wondered how long you and 7th floor could keep this... thing, affair, whatever you could call that, a secret. Who would figure it all out first? Would anyone? All of that seemed to excite you.
☆☆☆
Later that day, you were alone with 7th floor in his room once again, lying on the floor and staring at the ceiling while he sat next to you.
"When do you think this will end?" you asked. "Or like, how this will end."
"What do you mean 'how'?"
"Like, surely some of us start to get crazy at some point," you thought out loud. "There has already been violence, so someone will definitely die. What if this becomes like, a Hunger Games type of thing? Only one of us will leave this place alive?"
"I'm sure it won't come to that," 7th floor replied. Although, he could imagine that someone would end up dead since all of this was starting to get worse. He just didn't want to believe it.
Then, you got up and looked him directly in the eyes, the expression on your face now completely serious. "Would you kill me?"
"What?" he asked, totally taken aback by your question.
"If only one could leave this place alive, would you kill me or watch me die?" you repeated, raising your eyebrows. He wasn't sure what sort of answer you were seeking.
'No, of course not, i'd sacrifice myself for you,' he'd say, which you'd reply with: 'Aw, you love me that much? Nah, you're just being polite, your survival instincts would kick in and you'd let me die.'
'Yes, i'd want to save myself,' he'd answer instead, which you'd reply with: 'I thought you liked me. Why would you let me die? I like your honesty though.'
"I can't answer that," 7th floor said instead, choosing the answer from the grey area in the middle.
You narrowed your eyes and examined his behavior, then burst into a laughter. "It's so cute how much you try to please me. I'd let you die if it meant i'd live."
"Yeah?"
"Hey, i have things i want to do and i'm selfish," you said, holding your hand on your heart.
"I prefer to think and hope that both of us get out alive," 7th floor said.
Silence fell into the room again, hanging in the air thick between the two of you. It was rather comfortable, not awkward like it might have been with someone you hadn't known for long.
"But could you imagine if everyone was killed in some way except you and you were left to sit here all alone and there was like 400 hours left – obviously the watchers would love to see a murder, not to say a several of them," you continued.
Her looks and thoughts definitely didn't match with each other at all, 7th floor thought as he watched you. He liked to listen to you, whatever it was you had on your mind to say.
If we did live, would you stay with me or decide to go separate ways? 7th floor wanted to ask that, but he couldn't. If you said that you wanted to be with him only in this moment, only while you were here... he didn't want to hear it and burst the bubble you were in right now – had been for over a month by far. A bubble which felt like a strange dream.

Fatal accident
Sae-byeok x Reader x Se-mi
Summary: As above.
Warnings: 18+ smut. Angst, no happy ending 💔
A/N: Mostly x Sae-byeok but Se-mi is kinda like a side snack. This did hurt me 💔 Also it's probably the longest oneshot i've ever written it took forever to finish. I've also been on my vacation so i've had less time to write anything but managed to squeeze this out now.
◇◇◇
The first moment Sae-byeok saw you during the first game, you instantly got her attention. It happened extremely rarely; someone managing to intrigue her with barely their existence. Although, she wouldn't let herself to show it on the outside to others.
It was many things, really. The way you talked back to that purple haired gremlin full of himself, whatever his name was, when he shot pathetic flirting attempts at you, the way you didn't seem to care about anything else than your own business and the way the sun hit your perfect, god damn gorgeous face, letting your hair pulled on a ponytail shine.
"You're staring," a familiar male voice said quietly next to her, and she could hear the amusement in his voice. "Getting a crush already, little thief?"
Sae-byeok shook her head, turning her face away from you and concentrated on the game as it was about to start.
"Shut up, you're invading my personal space with your unwanted presence," she said back.
Deok-su was about to say something back, but just then the female voice announced that the game would start. Sae-byeok shot the large tattooed man a look to get lost.
Green light.
And then people started running.
Red light.
When the first player got shot, the field turned into a complete chaos, people running around in panic, screaming to get out of there but getting a bullet in their heads instead. Blood splattered everywhere, painting the ground red.
Sae-byeok stayed as still as possible, still following the game's rules, though her hands were definitely shaking. She looked at you, a few metres between the two of you. You looked calm, standing still, as if you had been prepared for the worst to happen; prepared to watch people die. You didn't flinch even once when the gunshots echoed around the field, though Sae-byeok wasn't able to see the look on your face.
When everything had finally calmed down, the rules were repeated once again, and now everyone took the game much more seriously.
You stood behind Thanos, couple of metres behind him. At one point, Thanos pushed a few people roughly on the ground, causing all of them to be shot. He thought it was funny, playing with people's lives like that without sympathy.
Without too much thinking, you grabbed Thanos by the collar of his jacket behind him.
Red light.
"Is that how your mommy taught you to treat people?" you asked, your lips close to his left ear.
"Excuse me?" Thanos asked, narrowing his eyes and wanting so bad to turn and look at who was fucking with him but right now that would make him to get shot.
"That's not very nice, you know," you pouted, gripping the collar in your fist now tighter.
Green light.
Thanos was about to say something back to you, getting pissed off by your remarks, but you yanked him roughly towards you just at the exact second you could run again, making him crash on the ground on his back and letting you run forward past him. Two can play this game.
"Fucking bitch," Thanos mumbled, anger rising inside him as he watched your back ahead of him. "You'll fucking regret that."
Sae-byeok had been close enough to you that she heard every word you said. She turned her head to the side to try to hide the amused smile rising on her lips. A few other players nearby got startled as well of the scene.
When you crossed the finish line and the game was over, Thanos was shooting daggers at you from the distance. You knew gaining enemies on your first day there wasn't very wise, but you needed some entertainment to get through all of this bloodshed.
As you walked away, Sae-byeok's gaze was glued on you for a little too long, eyeing you from head to toe, though you didn't look at her way, not even once.
◇◇◇
As you were waiting in line to pick up your dinner, Thanos cut in line and stepped right behind you, pushing the person originally on the spot away.
"What the fuck was that shit you pulled during the game?" Thanos growled, clearly angry, grabbing your hair into his fist which was pulled on a ponytail. You felt his breath hit your scalp, hot and furious.
"I don't know what you mean," you said innocently, not bothering to turn around and face him.
"Don't act all stupid," he scoffed.
"I was just playing the game. Like you," you replied and now glanced at him over your shoulder, giving him a sweet but sarcastic smile.
Thanos took a deep breath in through his nostrils to calm himself down, pulling your hair just a little bit harder towards him. "Be glad i don't touch women." He shook a finger at you, trying to make you feel intimidated and somewhat scared of him. Thanos didn't like being humiliated like that, not one bit.
"Yeah, i figured you'd be more into guys, the purple hair and all," you smirked, finding his behavior and teasing him only amusing.
His eyes widened. "That wasn't what i –"
"Listen, i really, really don't care what you got to say to me," you interrupted, punching his ribs with your elbow to make him let go of your hair. "I'll take my dinner and go eat by myself. Bye."
You grabbed your tray from the guard and headed towards your bunk, leaving Thanos hanging.
You unintentionally glanced towards a girl who was talking with an older man with a snake tattoo on his neck. You had noticed the two of them before the game but hadn't really paid much attention to either of them. The man took a step closer to her, making the girl to take a quick step back. She kept her hand behind her back, holding a knife in her hand – at least it looked like a knife, you were quite far away from them to tell for sure. You furrowed your eyebrows, wondering if there was going to be a fight soon but didn't want to involve yourself in other people's business.
You ate the dinner sitting on your bed by yourself, listening to other people around you chat with each other but didn't care to approach anyone; you were here to make money, not friends. This wasn't a place where you should get to know anyone on a personal level, and you didn't plan to do that.
At one point you locked eyes with a girl about your age, her hair short and both her nose and lower lip pierced with a silver ring. She was talking with a guy who looked anxious of his surroundings, having a little sad look on his face; you had a feeling that he wouldn't last in the games for very long.
Eventually she rapidly blinked her eyes and broke the eye contact with you, turning back to the guy next to her, embarrassed of getting caught staring at another person like that.
She was pretty, really pretty, and you knew that if you had met her at a bar, for example, you would have certainly walked over to her and started a chat, maybe offered to buy her a drink and flirted a little. However, this wasn't a bar or any place to get too comfortable with others.
After the dinner and when there was about half an hour until the lights out, you went to the bathroom and locked yourself in one of the stalls. You pulled out a lighter and a few cigarettes you had managed to smuggle in here without the guards noticing. It was a surprise, really, how you had managed to do that, though the girl in the distance had brought a knife here as well.
Speaking of which, just as you were finished with your cigarette and was getting up, having opened the lock, the door opened without your initiation and that same girl stood there, blocking your way out of the stall. The girl with the knife was now staring at you with no clear expression on her face, but the knife raised in the air.
Your eyes widened and you took a step back, stumbling on your feet and landing back on the toilet seat. "Woah, put that thing down! I haven't done anything, or i think i haven't done, uh – have we met? If we have and i ever –"
"Shut up and sit still," she interrupted your rambling, sounding tired and frustrated – well, you couldn't really tell what she was either feeling or thinking at the moment.
"I –" you started, but she wasn't in the mood to talk with you any further and just entered the stall and locked the door behind her, trapping you alone with her in the small stall. "What are you –"
But then she put her hands on your shoulders and climbed on top of you.
"Usually it's polite to at least say 'hello' before jumping on someone. I – Ow!," you said to fill in the silence but then winced in pain when she put her foot on your shoulder, the other on your lap now. "What are you doing?"
You looked up, just to see her using the knife to open the screws of the metallic ventilation plate on the ceiling to gain direct access to the vents.
"If anyone comes here, distract them and i might tell you if i find out something," she said and pulled herself up inside the vents, pressing her foot on your head now which made you almost twist your neck.
You were too taken aback by the situation to figure out what to say and when you managed to get some words on your tongue, she had already disappeared into the vents.
"What the fuck," you sighed, eyes wide not sure what the hell to do now.
Did she really just expect you to sit here and wait for her to come back? Where was she planning to go? To escape on her own? No, she had voted for 'O' to stay in the games, that wouldn't make sense.
I might tell you if i find out something. Like what?
The waiting felt like it took forever, and all you could do was to sit there, wait and listen to other girls pee and flush the toilets.
Finally, the girl came back, her head peeking from the hole in the ceiling to see you still sitting there on the same spot.
"What took you so long?" you asked quietly, but she didn't answer and just started to get down, slowly and carefully.
It happened all so fast now that you didn't even realize at first how she was suddenly sitting on your lap, resting her hands on your shoulders and looking into your eyes. She had almost lost her balance as she was climbing down, but got a hold on your body instead of falling on the floor.
"What, you wanna make out?" you smirked and glanced at her lips. It was just a joke, but she didn't look amused by it and got up, turning around to leave. "Now, wait on a sec. Did you find out something? Come on, tell me."
"Maybe later," she replied.
"Can i at least get your name?" you asked.
She eyed you for a moment, thinking what to answer, but eventually just turned around and left you alone in the bathroom. You stood there for a moment, feeling both very confused and highly intrigued by this girl.
◇◇◇
While you were walking up the stairs the next day, someone grabbed your sleeve behind you. You turned looked over your shoulder, just to see the knife girl now close enough to you that you could feel her breath on your neck – you had been in such deep thoughts that you hadn't even realized someone had stepped that close to you. Then, she whispered into your ear, "They were melting sugar."
"Sugar?"
"Mhm," she confirmed.
What game would require melting sugar? You tried to think but couldn't come up with the answer right at this moment.
"Are you sure that it was related to the next game?" you questioned her.
"Call it an intuition," she replied.
Like to stay mysterious, i see, you thought.
You arrived into a large room, it looked like some sort of a playground. Well, these were children's games, what was there to expect? But there was something else which caught everyone's eyes.
Four different shapes painted on the walls. Triangle, star, circle and umbrella.
Then, it finally struck you what you could possibly be playing. They hadn't explained the rules yet, only told you to choose one of the shapes. If the game was Dalgona, it was clear what would be the easiest one.
And the knife girl went immediately for the triangle as well, without thinking or any hesitation. You stood right behind her now.
"Why did you give me the hint?" you whispered.
She was silent for a moment and at first you weren't sure if she had even heard you, not seeing the expression on her face right now. Truthfully, she wasn't sure. She hadn't exactly planned to go spreading the information she had learned to several people, just wanting to make sure she survived the game herself. She hadn't exactly promised to tell you what she saw yesterday, she just said that she might.
"Felt like it," she said.
"Felt like it? What does that mean?" you asked, raising your eyebrows.
But she stayed silent, and you decided not to bother her any longer. You weren't here to make friends. You shouldn't even talk with this gorgeous woman in front of you who had started to intrigue more and more. You had always loved mysteries and solving them.
God damn it.
You looked around to see what other players had chosen. Thanos had chosen a circle, the man with the snake tattoo chose a star and the girl from yesterday, the one with the piercings, was waiting for an umbrella.
Well, it had been nice to see a pretty face at least for a short moment – there was no way anyone was going to survive carving out a damn umbrella, if the game turned out to be Dalgona as you had guessed.
And that it exactly was. You were given one cookie in a metal box along with a single needle which you had to use to carve the chosen shape out.
The entire room was silent during those 10 god damn long minutes. The only sounds came from the needles scratching the cookies, the guards' footsteps which were surprisingly loud and the heavy breathing of some players around you. It didn't take long to hear the first cry for help from one of the players, following a gunshot right after.
While there was still over 4 minutes left of the game, you managed to remove the triangle from the cookie. A guard walked in front of you and you showed the triangle to him, a proud smile on your face.
Player 113, pass.
You let out a deep breath of relief, though it was cut short by a gunshot making you to almost jump. Another player eliminated right after you had passed. Glancing towards the player just couple of metres from you, he had cracked his triangle in half.
You noticed the girl with piercings struggling with her cookie – the one with an umbrella. She wiped her sweaty forehead with her sleeve until returned to scratching the cookie with the needle. Her hands were shaking, and you could tell she wasn't confident on what she was doing; confident on passing the game. The expression on her face was exactly the kind that showed how the person had given up on life and was starting to accept that they'd die soon.
She was sitting on the floor at a spot which you'd pass on your way towards the door. You put your hand in your pocket, feeling the lighter between your fingers. You looked around you, making sure that none of the guards were paying much attention to you.
Then, you carefully pulled the lighter out of your pocket and dropped it right next to her. She flinched when something fell right by her thigh, confused what was going on and afraid a guard had approached her for some reason. But when she looked up, she only saw you glancing at her, urging her to grab the lighter before someone would see. You had to just hope that she'd realize what you hinted her to do: to heat up the needle to make the cutting much easier.
Player 067, pass.
The mysterious knife girl was done almost right after you, successfully having removed the triangle without cracking it.
"You know, without your hint i might have chosen an umbrella or a star," you admitted.
"Yeah? And why umbrella?"
"I don't know, i guess i wanna stand out from the crowd. The other shapes are so basic and boring," you contemplated.
"I can tell you're anything but basic and boring," she smirked, which almost startled you, but the smirk was gone so quick that you could have just imagined it in your mind.
Was she... flirting with you? No, of course not. A pretty girl talking to you and being nice wasn't automatically considered flirting. But fuck, she was gorgeous.
"Can i have your name now?" you asked, getting just the same hard-to-read look like yesterday for asking her name. "Otherwise i'll call you –"
"Sae-byeok," she interrupted, not wanting to hear any nicknames you had in your mind.
Sae-byeok. You examined her face a little longer, making her a little uncomfortable under your gaze, but you couldn't tell. Sae-byeok, that definitely suited her.
"So, Sae-byeok," you started, tasting her name on your tongue. "Planning to go to the bathroom again to search for the next clue? Need a hand, hm?"
"I'll leave it as a one time thing," she answered, though for a second she looked like she might have even considered it. But just for a second or two.
Player 380, pass.
Hearing the announcement of the girl passing made a smile creep on your face. Sae-byeok had helped you, and you had helped the pretty girl with piercings. Teamwork, huh?
You weren't here to make friends, you tried to remind yourself.
When everyone had returned to the dorm and it was time to start voting, you noticed the man with the snake tattoo and Thanos arguing about something, the argument heating up worse and worse. One of them would go to sleep with a broken nose tonight.
"Who's that?" you nodded towards the two guys.
"Nobody you should give any of your attention," Sae-byeok answered.
Right then, the older man punched Thanos directly on the center of his face, making him stumble backwards. He would have fallen on his back but the player 124 was behind to catch him. You didn't like violence too much, but that did give you some satisfaction.
"We will now start the voting starting from player 001," the guard announced behind the red and blue buttons.
"Want to go home yet?" Sae-byeok asked, looking straight ahead of her but directing her words to you. Both of you were wearing a blue 'O' patch on your jackets.
"Nah, think i'll play at least one more game," you replied. "You?"
"Same," was all she said back.
After a moment of silence between the two of you, Sae-byeok spoke up first but kept her gaze on the board which showed the points for O and X.
Player 197.
"You didn't tell me your name yet."
"You didn't ask," you pointed out.
Now, she turned her head towards you. "Well, what's your name?"
You eyed her for a moment, narrowing your eyes, and Sae-byeok started to feel slightly uneasy under your gaze but she tried not to show it to you.
"Why do you want to know, huh? Wanna become friends? Get to know each other a little better?" you teased, making her to roll her eyes.
"I can call you 'the toilet girl' too if that's better," she said.
You raised your eyebrows and crossed your arms against your chest. "The toilet girl? That's your nickname for me? Couldn't get any cuter name for me?"
A smirk spread on Sae-byeok's face. "For now yeah, unless you tell me your name."
"Y/N," you said, feeling nasty of the name she associated you with right now.
"Hm," she hummed, her lips curling up in a slight and brief smile. You had no idea what that look meant.
And that was the end of your short conversation with Sae-byeok.
◇◇◇
After the dinner when you were washing your hands in the bathroom, the girl, who had now apparently joined forces with Thanos, came out one of the stalls and approached you.
"Um, hi," she greeted awkwardly.
"Hello," you said and turned off the faucet, starting to dry your hands.
She was holding the lighter in her hand, offering it to you. "Here. Thank you for letting me use it. I don't think i could have passed without it."
"No problem." You nodded and took the lighter.
"Why did you help me anyway? We've never even talked."
You looked at her for a moment with narrowed eyes. Truthfully, you didn't have a clear answer for her at the moment.
"Do you smoke?" you asked, ignoring her question for now. She looked confused, eyebrows furrowed. "Come on."
You took the girl's hand and entered one of the stalls but the girl stopped, confused what was going on. You just rolled your eyes. "Let's just chat a bit, yeah?"
You locked the stall door behind you, leaving you alone with the girl in the small space. You pulled two cigarettes from your pocket, offering the other for her and lighted it up.
You sat down on the floor and didn't even want to know when was the last time someone had scrubbed the tiles clean.
"What's your name?" you asked.
"Se-mi," she replied, inhaling the smoke into her lungs. "You?"
"Y/N."
"Why did you help me?"
You were silent for a moment. Because i didn't want a pretty girl to die this early while there's still bunch of ugly men playing. "Because an umbrella is impossible to carve off with just a regular needle."
You were right, Se-mi knew that. She had been sure of her being eliminated the moment she had heard the rules; there were way too many details for it not to crack from at least one spot – and you didn't need more than one crack to get a bullet in the head. Well, you didn't help the other players with the umbrella cookie, was what Se-mi had the urge to say but decided to keep her mouth shut. She had passed the game and that was what mattered right now.
"Well, thank you," she said and smiled. "Maybe i'll return the favor during another game."
"I'm counting on it," you smiled.
You sat in comfortable silence for a moment, filling the stall with smoke.
"So, you decided to join Thanos and his little minions, huh?" you asked to break the silence. To say something, even though the silence between the two of you was quite comfortable and not awkward at all. Still, you really were curious.
"Well, he came up to me. Just figured it would be a good idea to be in someone's team," she explained and shrugged. "I did notice you don't get along with him."
"You could say that," you chuckled and filled the stall with even more smoke.
"I don't blame you. He's a bit too much," she chuckled back.
You talked with Se-mi another five or ten minutes, you weren't sure, and found her company comfortable and how you could spend time talking with her for hours but once again...
You weren't here to make friends.
Right?
◇◇◇
During Mingle, you stayed by Sae-byeok's side the entire game. You were glad to have her by your side, not having to run around the room to search for a group all alone. The other players in your group changed as the rounds went by but Sae-byeok stayed with you.
"Want to team up?" you had asked Sae-byeok before the game officially started, appearing next to her on the carousel which wasn't moving yet. She looked at you for a second with a look that asked 'Really? We're a team now?' – or something like that. "It's better to have someone with you already when it's time to search for a group, right?"
"Alright," she agreed. That made sense.
Something was pulling you towards Sae-byeok, and she could feel that pull too; like magnets coming together, even if there was a little resistance at first.
When it was time to gather a group of five, you and Sae-byeok struggled to find players at first to team up with you. "Should we –" you started but then almost jumped a little when you felt someone put their hand on your shoulder behind you. You glanced over your shoulder to see the player 456 looking at you.
"Come with us, we need two people," he said, nodding towards two other men in the distance looking at your way.
You grabbed Sae-byeok's hand, guessing that she hadn't heard what the man had said to you due to everyone shouting and screaming around you, making her flinch in surprise, though you didn't pay attention to her reaction. Without another word, you ran towards one of the rooms with a full group now, managing to lock yourself inside just before the time ran out.
You were still squeezing Sae-byeok's hand and panting hard, being out of breath of all the running. You didn't even notice that you still had a hold on her hand, somehow it felt so natural to you. And you certainly didn't notice how that simple gesture of holding hands with you made Sae-byeok's heart flutter and skip a beat.
As you did realize that you hadn't let go of her, and she had fallen completely mute, you quickly pulled your hand off and let out a nervous chuckle. "Oh, i'm sorry."
Don't be sorry, Sae-byeok thought, that felt... nice? You made her feel confused for how she felt and behaved around you and didn't even realize that you had started to have an effect on her. Whatever kind of effect it was.
One round, you ended up in the same room with Deok-su, though you still didn't know him by any other name than the player 101. Sae-byeok didn't look happy about that which only made Deok-su grin. The intense way he looked at you made you take a step back and stick on Sae-byeok's side just a little closer – which she didn't seem to mind at all anymore.
When it was time to form groups of 3, you noticed Thanos and others leaving Se-mi all alone in the middle of the carousel, completely abandoning her.
You grabbed Sae-byeok's hand once again and squeezed it, getting her to look at you. You nodded towards Se-mi and started pulling her with you as you headed towards the girl without any group.
Se-mi looked panicked, frantically looking around her to see any players needing one more person into their group but not spotting any. Suddenly, she flinched when someone laid their hand on her shoulder. Se-mi turned around, seeing you standing next to her and offering your right hand to her, welcoming you to join you and Sae-byeok who was holding your other left hand.
The three of you managed to get into a free room just in time, surviving another round.
Se-mi was breathing hard, having already been sure again that she was going to die. For the second time, you were there to save her.
"Thanks," Se-mi said and managed to give you a smile.
"I'd recommend you to get a little better friends here than some drug addicts," Sae-byeok suggested.
"Shut up, we're not in here for life lessons right now," you sighed, noticing Se-mi getting a little embarrassed.
The next round was for two players to find a room together. The three of you looked between each other, having to decide who to leave out on their own.
"You two go, i'll find another room," Sae-byeok decided before you could get a word out.
You were about to say something back, but Sae-byeok was quick to turn around and search for another partner and Se-mi to grab your hand and find a room for the two of you.
Just before entering the room, you looked around the area to see where Sae-byeok was, if she was with someone, but it was too dark to see clearly very far and Se-mi was already pulling you inside with her.
"I'm sure she's fine," Se-mi assured you, seeing your anxious state. "She can take care of herself."
"I know," you agreed and took a deep breath in.
Se-mi had seen you and Sae-byeok together many times now, feeling rather comfortable around each other. Se-mi felt a sting of jealousy in her heart after seeing you smile at something Sae-byeok would say but she tried to ignore the feeling – she had no right to be jealous over you, she didn't own you. Hell, she barely even knew you. Se-mi wished that she would have befriended you right in the beginning, hopefully getting your attention even before Sae-byeok, but it was too late for that. It was wrong to think like that, wanting to claim you before someone would manage to do that, treating you like you were someone's property but Se-mi couldn't help it. She was absolutely mesmerized by you already. She wanted all of your attention to herself; call her selfish, she didn't care.
"I guess i should have teamed up with someone more... trustworthy than Thanos and Nam-gyu," Se-mi admitted, as if embarrassed how you had been right about them since the beginning, and that Se-mi had severely messed up.
"Don't blame yourself," you shrugged it off. "Even friends might betray each other here when their life is on the line. That mother and son duo, whatever their names are? Those who are constantly on each other's side? I saw the son to leave his mom on her own and run off with someone else."
Se-mi's eyebrows shot up, and she straightened her back. "What, seriously?"
You nodded. "I don't blame anyone for what they're doing at this point, and Thanos is a total shithead in general, but i wouldn't go trusting anyone here 100%."
"You seem to trust her not to abandon you," Se-mi stated, the tone of her voice coming out harsher than she intended to.
"That's why i'm holding her hand so she doesn't run off," you smirked.
A smile spread on Se-mi's face too, though it was gone as soon as it had appeared on her lips. She looked at you for a moment and swallowed the lump in her throat. Why couldn't i be the one to hold your hand?
The door opened again, and the game was now over. You quickly got up and stepped out of the room, scanning the room with your gaze until it landed on Sae-byeok who locked eyes with you at the same time.
Seeing her alive after being separated lifted a huge weight off your heart, and you felt like you could get air into your lungs much easier again.
Don't you dare to get attached to anyone here.
◇◇◇
After Mingle and the voting, both you and Sae-byeok still voting to continue playing the games – the games had been rather easy by far, why stop now? – you headed towards the bathroom.
Then, both Sae-byeok and Se-mi were in the bathroom with you, the three of you alone in one room again for a while, just like in one of the rounds during Mingle, though none of you had anything to say to each other.
You were the one to leave first, leaving Se-mi and Sae-byeok alone. Both of them felt the atmosphere becoming much more awkward when you weren't in the room with them anymore. Your presence was the only thing that connected Sae-byeok and Se-mi together in any way. Now that you were gone? Neither of them knew what to say but both of them felt like they needed to say something.
Sae-byeok could have just left after you, but she was stuck at washing her hands, even though they were clean enough already.
How close are they? Se-mi thought, sparing a quick glance at Sae-byeok, but hoping she wouldn't notice it. I see the way they look at each other. Would i be stupid to even try to get closer to her at this point? Would it matter? Would it make a difference if i told her that i found her attractive and would like to get to know her better? No, i couldn't just say that.
Sae-byeok started drying her hands, glancing at Se-mi quickly as well through the mirror when she wasn't looking.
Se-mi clearly fancies her, Sae-byeok thought, the idea of someone else having you made her stomach twist into a knot and throat tighten, jealousy taking over her body. She wasn't an obsessive and jealous person, no, she wasn't jealous. Sure, you were attractive and Sae-byeok couldn't get her eyes off you anymore and all she wanted now was you... But she wouldn't be jealous. Se-mi's real pretty though and leaving you alone with her in the room during the final round of Mingle had stung her heart a little. It was stupid to even feel like that.
Se-mi was just about to say something to Sae-byeok, but just at that second someone flushed the toilet and stepped out one of the stalls. Right after, Sae-byeok took a step towards the door and left. The player 222 walked to Sae-byeok's spot to wash her hands, even her somehow feeling the awkward tension lingering in the air.
◇◇◇
It had been over an hour since the lights had gone out, and you were still twisting and turning in your bed, unable to sleep. You were becoming so frustrated of your body refusing to fall asleep that you wanted to curse and kick something.
"Can't sleep either, huh?" Sae-byeok asked, standing by your bed, keeping her hands in her pockets.
"No, not really," you groaned and rubbed your eyes.
"Care for some company?" Sae-byeok asked. She wasn't entirely sure why she had come to you, she just wasn't able to sleep either. It wasn't like her to seek for a company, to come up to someone like this on purpose, by her own will.
You sat up and made space for her on the mattress, and she hesitantly sat down next to you.
"Something on your mind?" you asked, sensing that she was behaving a little oddly. She had been more quiet than usual ever since the game of Mingle earlier that day.
"Nothing specific," she said. Just that another woman starting to fancy you is making me go insane and i hate to feel that way and i just want to be around you and i hate to feel like that too, she thought but would never say it out loud unless she had a gun pointed at her head.
"You sure?" you asked, lifting your eyebrow. "You're hard to read but i feel like something's up."
"Just... can't sleep," she said. For once she actually wasn't sure what to say, she even started to regret coming to you at all but her feet had led her there on their own. She always stayed on her own but now all she wanted was to be around you, whatever the reason was. You didn't push it too much either, to ask questions which Sae-byeok didn't know the answer to – and she appreciated that.
After some time of talking and chatting, both of you had ended up to lay down on the mattress side by side, lying on your side.
"If we get out of here, what do you want to do with the money? Besides the debts and all obviously," you asked.
"Well. One thing is that i want to take my family to Jeju island," she replied.
"Jeju island, huh?" you asked, now quite intrigued. "I've never been there before, though i'd want to."
Sae-byeok eyed you for a moment. "Maybe you could come too." Right after the words slipped out of her mouth, she started to regret it; she wasn't supposed to say that out loud, it was just a passing thought.
"Yeah? I'm invited for your family vacation already?" you chuckled. "Didn't realize we were that close just yet."
You managed to get a brief laugh out of her mouth which made your heart flutter. "Yet, huh? You want to be that close some day, hm?"
"I didn't mean to imply anything," you said, suddenly feeling shy and a little nervous. I can't become close to you, not here.
"I'll... consider it," she ended up saying.
You talked together for what felt like forever. Half an hour? An hour? More? You weren't sure, but you had to keep quiet not to wake up anyone else around you. There wasn't enough space for two people to lay on the bed comfortably, so you were incredibly close to each other the entire time, hot breath hitting the other's face.
Sae-byeok took in all the details of your face, now able to see all of you much, much closer. She noticed how pretty your eyes really were, the way your nose scrunched up a little when you tried to hold in a laugh... Fuck, you were simply just so, so cute and gorgeous. She wanted to pull you to her, take all of you in, but something held her back. An invisible string which would break from the slightest pull.
For a while you fell silent and just looked at each other in the eyes. The tension between the two of you was making you crazy. You automatically glanced at her lips but quickly brought your gaze back into her eyes. Sae-byeok noticed it, giving her the push to act on her desires.
Then, Sae-byeok put her hand against the back of your head and crashed her lips on yours. At first she was afraid you'd push her away from you, afraid of having crossed the line, but it didn't take more than a second or two to respond to the kiss.
You put your hand on her shoulder, slowly bringing it up against her neck to brush your fingers through her hair.
You flinched when Sae-byeok started playing with the waistband of your pants, her cold hand pressed on your lower stomach, but you welcomed her touch; she could touch you anywhere and you'd just take what she wanted to do with you.
"Are you able to stay quiet?" Sae-byeok murmured into your ear, sending shivers down your spine.
"Mhm," you confirmed and nodded, looking probably a little too eager, making her smirk.
She pushed you down to lay on your back on the mattress, your head hitting the pillow, and slowly slid her hand under your pants, cupping your cunt through your panties.
"You're wet already, huh?" she smirked, feeling the wet spot on the fabric. "Haven't even started yet."
"Stop teasing me," you whispered, needing her to get on with it already.
"Patience," she whispered into your ear.
Then, her hand moved under your panties, coming in direct contact with your wet pussy. It had been such a long time since anyone had touched you that you could have come right there and then from the slightest touch already.
Her thumb rolled on your clit while her forefinger teased your entrance, inserting barely an inch inside and massaging all the nerve endings with a slow pace. Sae-byeok kept her eyes on you the entire time, getting turned on just by the expressions on your face that she, herself, managed to create. The silent moans leaving your mouth, teeth biting your lower lip, eyes rolling back as you pressed your head deeper against the pillow, your back arching... God, you were so, so gorgeous; Sae-byeok could have looked at you all night.
She pushed one finger inside you, slowly pumping it inside and out a few times until inserting second finger as well. It was easy to slide her fingers against your walls for how wet they were right now.
It was so hard to try and keep quiet, you had to bite your tongue and cover your mouth to keep the moans down your throat. You wanted to let Sae-byeok hear how good she made you feel but you didn't want others to witness her fucking you with her fingers.
Sae-byeok added some speed to her movements, becoming more rough and putting more pressure on your clit as well.
"I'm so, so close," you whimpered, biting your lip.
Then, the wave of pleasure washed through your body, and Sae-byeok was quick to slam her lips on yours to swallow your moans into her throat. You were shaking under her, feeling better than ever before.
"That's my good girl," Sae-byeok whispered and god damn you could have orgasmed by those words only.
My good girl. Sae-byeok wasn't supposed to say that, she was supposed to only say 'good girl', not 'my good girl' – you weren't hers. You didn't belong to her. You and Sae-byeok were just two people who needed a moment of distraction from all this shit you were surrounded with.
When you were done, Sae-byeok pulled her fingers out and inserted them into her mouth instead, sucking them clean from your juices.
After recovering, you sat up and flipped her around to switch spots with her.
"My turn," you whispered and rested your hand on her stomach. "May i?"
Sae-byeok looked surprised, not having expected you towering over her like this and ready to do the same to her. She hadn't expected you to pleasure her, but she wouldn't complain. She swallowed and nodded her head, letting you to slide your hand under her pants as well.
When she had cummed on your fingers as well, Sae-byeok stayed in your bed until the morning, keeping you close to her body and your head on her chest.
◇◇◇
In the beginning of the game of hide and seek, you and Sae-byeok were assigned to the blue team, both of you getting your own key, while Se-mi was given a red vest and a knife.
Se-mi looked visibly anxious of the color of the vest she was wearing. She tried to ask if anyone wanted to change, so that she'd be able to team up with you and Sae-byeok, but nobody was willing to trade sides with her.
You squeezed her shoulder, genuinely feeling bad for her. "Hey, you go find someone to kill and then come find us afterwards, alright?"
She swallowed, trying to hide how her hand was shaking. That was so much easier to said than done. 'Find someone to kill', the words left your mouth in the tone like you were asking her to bring milk from a grocery store on her way out.
Nevertheless, she had to do it to survive. Kill someone to live. Kill or die. Fuck.
The game started, the blue team getting a headstart before the red team would come after you. As you started to wander around the game arena, you came to one conclusion: there was nowhere to hide. It was all just corridors and empty rooms with no hiding spots. Amazing. If someone from the red team was nearby, all you could do was to run away.
"This is fucking bullshit," you mumbled.
"You expected an easy game, huh?" Sae-byeok asked, looking at the ceiling which had stars painted all over.
You and Sae-byeok opened as many doors as you could with your keys, not wasting any time to find the exit and get the hell out of there.
Suddenly, a young man wearing a red vest was standing in the same room with you and Sae-byeok, holding the knife, still clean, in his hand. The look in his eyes told you that he wasn't afraid of ending someone's life for his own survival, his hands completely steady as well. However, you did notice some hesitation as he looked between you and Sae-byeok – it was one against two.
"Well, which one of you wants to die, hm?" he smirked, acting all cocky and confident.
You and Sae-byeok exchanged glances with each other, both of you thinking the exact same thing. Is this guy serious right now?
Se-mi had no idea what the fuck she was about to do. Why couldn't anyone change vests with her? She didn't want to kill someone, she wanted to stay with you and Sae-byeok, find the exit together. But no, Se-mi was separated from her friends, causing her to wander around the corridors all by herself. Min-su was wearing a red vest too, but Se-mi couldn't find him anywhere.
Nam-gyu and Myung-gi turned around the next corner, now facing Se-mi who did look visibly lost.
"Leave me alone," Se-mi mumbled, avoiding eye contact with either of them.
"Aw, you don't wanna join us? We could help you out," Nam-gyu offered, though Se-mi could hear a mocking tone in his voice. He didn't care about her or her survival.
"I don't need your damn help," she stated.
Nam-gyu narrowed his eyes and walked closer to Se-mi until he was standing right in front of her. She wanted to back down but stayed put, not wanting to look weak.
"You know, you're not wearing a blue vest," Nam-gyu whispered and pressed the tip of his knife against Se-mi's chest. "I would have loved to hunt you down and kill you for the shit you pulled yesterday."
Back at the dorm, she would be scared shitless in this situation, Nam-gyu being the type of person who'd kill someone with no remorse, but luckily here killing another player in the red team wasn't allowed.
Se-mi didn't answer, only looked Nam-gyu directly in the eyes, keeping her face straight. After a moment, Nam-gyu started laughing, making Se-mi flinch.
"Well, i'll catch up with you after the game, hm?" Nam-gyu said and pressed the knife against Se-mi's left cheek, slightly cutting her skin, couple drops of blood coming out of the wound.
I'll catch up with you after the game, Nam-gyu's voice echoed inside Se-mi's head. So, even he believed that Se-mi would be capable to kill someone cold-blood?
You passed several corpses, lying on the ground in their own pools of blood, and once or twice almost tripped on a lifeless arm or leg.
"I think i'm ready to go home after today," you said, disgust clear on your face. You had stepped on someone's pool of blood and was now leaving red footprints behind you as you walked forward.
"Yeah? Not having fun anymore?" Sae-byeok smirked, though she was starting to get ready to go home too.
You glanced at Sae-byeok, a warm smile on your face. You didn't want to play anymore because the more you played, the higher of a chance there was to lose this woman next to you. You had told yourself since the beginning that you were here to make money, not friends.
But now you had started to genuinely care about one of the fellow players, and you hated that feeling. You didn't want to play these games when there was someone playing too who you didn't want to see die. Whose death might actually kill you too. However, you couldn't worry about that now, you had to concentrate on passing the game; you still hadn't found the exit and the time was running out soon.
You walked forward through the maze but stopped when you saw a man standing in the end of the corridor, blocking your way forward with his large figure.
Deok-su. But luckily for you, Deok-su was wearing a blue vest, just like you. If he was to wear a red vest and catch you, you'd be doomed, having no weapon of your own on you.
"Look what we have here," Deok-su said, walking towards you and Sae-byeok. "Little thief and her little girlfriend. What a pity i wasn't assigned to kill you."
"Too bad, that would have been such a turn on for you," Sae-byeok smirked, tilting her head to the left. "Where's your friends, huh? They abandoned you or were too dumb to get killed?"
Oh how Sae-byeok loved messing with Deok-su, you could see that. Messing with him the same way you enjoyed teasing Thanos. Deok-su was there alone, none of his little minions surrounding him at the moment. Either his friends were in the red team or they were lying dead on the floor somewhere in the maze.
"Listen, i know we've had our... disagreements," he slowly said, sounding like the words felt painful for him. "But we need three keys to open the door, so why don't we team up, hm?"
Sae-byeok crossed her arms and scoffed. "Seriously? Get it into your senile head – i'm never teaming up with you."
You gave her a look, trying to indicate that you did need a third person with a circle key, you and Sae-byeok having a triangle and square. Sae-byeok gritted her teeth.
Deok-su didn't want to help you get out of here, he only wanted to use you because he needed two more keys and he couldn't find them on the dead bodies, someone else having already ripped them to themselves.
"You know where the exit is?" you asked, wanting to get out of here as fast as possible; you were running out from energy if even one more player from the red team spotted and chased you. Deok-su examined you now from head to toe before looking at Sae-byeok with a smug grin on his face.
"See? Your girlfriend knows how to be cooperative," he said and raised his eyebrows.
Sae-byeok let out a deep sigh and eventually had to give in. Deok-su ended up leading you to the exit.
You opened the next door and looked around the room, a wide smile crawling on your lips when you saw a large door at the other side of the room: the exit. Finally – Deok-su hadn't been kidding of finding the exit and didn't just lead you into a trap.
Sae-byeok was already on her way towards the door, as was Deok-su, but you grabbed her arm.
"Should we wait for Se-mi?" you asked, feeling bad for leaving your friend here, even though you were in a different mission.
"She'll be fine," she tried to assure you.
You hesitated at first. What if she was in trouble and needed help? You had seen the look in her eyes before you left separate ways. The way she was terrified to even hold the knife in her hand and the idea of taking someone else's life. But what choice did you have? What choice did any of you there have?
"Okay, you're right. Let's –" you started, but was interrupted by an extruciating pain in your back. You squeezed the doorframe on both sides of you, legs starting to feel weak.
You stumbled forward, feeling something warm drip down your back. Down your spine, all the way to the waistband of your pants.
"Y/N!" Sae-byeok shouted, sprinting to your side and managed to catch you just in time before you'd hit the floor.
A knife was stuck on your back, the blade going deep inside, all the way up to the handle, coloring the space around it dark red.
"Y/N..." a female voice mumbled behind you, stuck at the doorway. No, no, no, no this couldn't be happening.
Sae-byeok looked up towards the person responsible for this: Se-mi. She was shaking, eyes wide as she looked at you beneath her feet.
This wasn't real, it could not be real. Se-mi didn't mean to stab you, of course she didn't; that was the last thing she would have ever done but she had acted too careless.
"What the fuck, Se-mi?!" Sae-byeok shouted at her, as loud as she possibly could.
"Oh my god, i, i didn't mean to do that," Se-mi stuttered in total panic. "The time's running out and i, i thought you were someone else and i just, i panicked."
"You don't just accidentally stab someone, you moron," Sae-byeok growled, absolutely fuming at her. She would have stood up and strangled Se-mi with her bare hands, squeezing her throat until her face turned purple, but she couldn't, no. Because you were there grabbing her arm, squeezing it with all your remaining strength, desperate to hold onto something – no, someone.
Se-mi truly had been running out of time, there was only 2 minutes left of the game at this point.
Sae-byeok touched your back, seeing the knife stuck in your flesh and feeling. a lot of blood pouring out of the wound, covering her hand red.
"Sae-byeok," you mumbled, your throat dry. "It hurts."
Sae-byeok didn't know what to say, she was absolutely speechless, and had no idea what she was meant to do. She hadn't prepared herself for this – you had survived the first three games so easily, why would you die now? You had survived almost the entire game now as well, getting stabbed in the last damn second. Sae-byeok couldn't grasp it and process the thought in her head.
"Can you pull the knife off," you pleaded, eyes getting filled with burning tears.
But you'll bleed out even faster, Sae-byeok thought, i can't do that. You saw the look on her face, the hesitation.
"Please," you repeated, voice weak. "It really, really hurts."
Sae-byeok quickly pulled her vest and jacket off, leaving her only in her t-shirt, and pressed the jacket on the wound as she pulled the knife out. She pressed the wound hard, but nothing could stop the bleeding – she would only be able to slow it down a little bit.
"If you don't win the games and get out of here, i'll come kick your dead ass," you mumbled, the loss of blood making you dizzy and weak.
Both of you knew that you were going to die. Don't talk like that, you'll be okay, we'll get back home together, it's going to be alright, you'll survive this... None of those things could be said, so Sae-byeok had no idea what she was supposed to say. Comfort you and soothe you to make your death more bearable? Easier, less painful?
"I just want you to know one thing, Sae-byeok," you mumbled, looking into her eyes. You tried to lean closer to her face to whisper into her ear so only she'd hear your words. "You gave me the best orgasm of my life. Absolutely mindblowing."
It would have normally made Sae-byeok smile and tease you further but right now she was holding back tears, hating the fact that she could do nothing to save you. There was no medical help available for you even if you were to survive through this game.
"You were supposed to come to the Jeju island with me when this is all over," Sae-byeok said quietly, hurt clear in her voice. She hadn't considered it too seriously to bring you along, it was supposed to be just her and her family, but now having you slip through her fingers, Sae-byeok wanted to hold onto you tight and take you wherever she'd go.
It took all her effort not to let her voice break right now. She had to act strong and not break down in sobs and tears while you were looking at her.
She'd do that afterwards in her own time.
"I'll be there with you," you assured her with a smile. How the hell could you smile while coming closer to death second by second? "You just won't see me, but i'll be there. Promise."
Sae-byeok kissed your forehead, holding you tighter against her. Your body fell limp in her arms, head falling to the side. Why did she have to let herself become close to someone here? She didn't let people close, she preferred to stay in her own little bubble, but you just had to break that bubble and take a hold on Sae-byeok's heart.
7, 6, 5, 4...
Player 113, eliminated.
Player 380, pass.
When Se-mi connected eyes with Sae-byeok, Se-mi instantly knew she was doomed. Sae-byeok's eyes were filled with nothing else but fury and hatred when she looked at Se-mi.
Now she had passed the game but it cost your life. She had literally your blood in her hands. This wasn't how it was supposed to go, Se-mi thought. She was supposed to kill someone – anyone here but you or Sae-byeok – and come find you afterwards. She wasn't supposed to plant the knife in your back.
Looking at your lifeless body, Se-mi's eyes were filled with tears, a few running down her cheek as she just stood there, lips slightly apart. Her lower lip was trembling, and the air was running out of the room incredibly fast, her lungs feeling like they were going to suffocate.
Sae-byeok stood up, very slowly, and didn't say a word, only looked at Se-mi in the eyes, her cold stare sending chills down her spine. Se-mi took a step back, afraid Sae-byeok was going to do something to her, but she simply left, leaving Se-mi to stand there all alone. Although, just a few seconds later, couple of guards came to retrieve your corpse and urged Se-mi to leave.
Sae-byeok hadn't said a word to Se-mi, but the murderous look in her eyes told Se-mi everything she had to know: she was as good as dead too to Sae-byeok.
Se-mi took one last glance at you, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"I'm sorry," she whispered.
◇◇◇
After the game, Se-mi was washing her hands in the bathroom, rubbing the blood off her skin. Tears were streaming down her face, couple of hiccups interrupting the sobs coming out of her mouth.
Then, the door to the bathroom slammed open, none other than Sae-byeok stepping inside. And she looked angry.
Se-mi turned off the sink and quickly wiped her hands dry but right then Sae-byeok grabbed Se-mi by the front of her shirt and threw her on the floor. The back of Se-mi's head hit the dirty tiles quite hard, making her let out a painful whine.
Sae-byeok climbed on top of Se-mi to keep her down on the floor and wrapped her fingers around Se-mi's throat. Sae-byeok's pants were covered in blood, your blood, caused by you bleeding out on her lap – the blood was still wet.
"You fucking idiot," Sae-byeok gritted between her teeth.
Se-mi tried to get Sae-byeok's hands off her throat but her grip was way too strong, though not hard enough to actually choke her unconscious – mostly just to keep her lying on the floor and show her that she dominated the situation right now.
"I'm sorry," Se-mi muttered, tears blinding her vision. "I didn't mean to do that."
"Should have known you didn't know how to use the damn knife," Sae-byeok mumbled.
Sae-byeok's eyes were glimmering from tears as well but she forced to keep them inside. She clenched her jaw and tried to keep her body from shaking. From what? Anger, grief – both?
"I'm sorry," Se-mi sobbed. "I'm so, so sorry."
Hundreds of people had died during the past few days and you were the only one whose death Sae-byeok had genuinely cared about – and your life was taken away by someone you considered a friend.
Neither Sae-byeok or Se-mi knew how to handle their emotions at the moment. Both of them were a total mess nevertheless over your death.
Sae-byeok was breathing heavily, looking at Se-mi's helpless figure under her. She was crying, tears flowing free down her cheeks.
"If you're going to kill me, just do it already," Se-mi sobbed, nose clogged and kept her eyes closed, waiting for her heart to be stabbed with a knife. Waiting for the knife to relieve this pain in her heart.
"Kill you?" Sae-byeok asked, raising her eyebrows. "I'm not going to fucking kill you."
Se-mi opened her teary eyes. "Y-you're not?"
"You'll suffer more if i let you live," Sae-byeok said. It was a mere statement, the tone of her voice cold and emotionless.
A part of Se-mi wished she would kill her, right then and there. There were two more games left and there was a possibility she'd face a much more brutal death than if Sae-byeok stabbed her right now.
Then, Sae-byeok grabbed the collar of Se-mi's shirt and lifted her slightly up, just to slam her against the floor again. After that, she stood up and left Se-mi to lie there alone.
As Se-mi slowly sat up, body trembling, she noticed her shirt now stained red from the spot Sae-byeok had pressed her thighs on.
Se-mi looked at herself from the mirror, a red handprint covering her throat. Sae-byeok hadn't bothered to even wash her hands yet from your blood, unintentionally marking Se-mi with a part if you, the person she killed to save her own life.
◇◇◇
After the lights out, Se-mi wasn't able to fall asleep, so she was sitting on her bed and leaned against the wall, twirling the lighter between her fingers. Your lighter which had helped her during the second game. The lighter that was the only memory she had from you.
The lighter that had saved her life. You had saved her life, but Se-mi had backstabbed you – literally. How could she ever forgive herself? Get over killing her friend, someone she cared about? She thought about the next game tomorrow what it could be. If it was played in teams, Se-mi was now completely alone.
Sae-byeok played with her flick knife, caressing the blade with her thumb and not caring if she accidentally cut her skin. Maybe pain would be good, maybe she should cut herself, just a little bit, to let physical pain replace the mental pain that kept her from falling asleep.
Then, Sae-byeok looked towards Se-mi, just to see her already looking at her way. However, at the same second their gazes met, Se-mi turned her head away, embarrassed of getting caught staring at her.
Sae-byeok didn't hate Se-mi, atleast not with full rage. She wanted to hate her so bad for being the reason you were now dead, but Sae-byeok was too numb to care about anything else than your absence. She couldn't even explain what she was exactly feeling. People did anything here to survive, and the games made the players kill each other – that was the point. However, even though Se-mi was ordered to kill someone, she hadn't imagined Se-mi could ever touch you with that fucking knife. Was it truly a mere accident? Maybe. Sae-byeok believed it was an accident but a really, really stupid one. Se-mi wouldn't have been crying so much if she actually meant to do it.
Se-mi noticed Sae-byeok playing with the knife in her bed, suddenly afraid of falling asleep. Surely she wouldn't stab her in her sleep? Sae-byeok was angry at her, rightfully so, but she wouldn't kill someone – right?
Se-mi was angry at herself too, how could she be so careless and stupid not to recognize you from behind? Why couldn't see just stop and think it through atleast a second or two longer?
Se-mi laid herself down on her side, back facing Sae-byeok. She pulled the blanket tightly up to her jaw, having it as a protective shield during her sleep.
This wasn't how it was supposed to go, Sae-byeok thought. God, why did she have to care about you so much, even though she had known you for such a short time. This is the reason why you shouldn't get close with anyone while playing games you could literally die in, dozens of people dying every day. She couldn't form any emotional bonds towards anyone – but she had done so. She had started to fucking care about you.

A/N: I want to marry Sae-byeok and get a vacation home from Jeju island now, how is that an unrealistic dream 💔 I need to write fluff and have a break from angst cos otherwise i'll probably end up in mental hospital soon.
Summary: Thanos was your brother's best friend when you were younger and now you're meeting again in the games. You choose Thanos as your partner in the marbles game.
Warnings: It's the marbles game. You KNOW what to expect.
A/N: I genuinely still don't understand the rules of this game so i'm not describing them play it in any detail either lmao (but they play it while they chat ok).
☆☆☆
"What do you say, señorita?" Thanos asked, appearing next to you and putting his arm around your shoulder. "Wanna be my partner for this game?"
"And why should i?"
"C'mon, we make such a great team," Thanos insisted, pulling you harder against his side.
You narrowed your eyes. "I think i prefer someone else. Play with Nam-gyu."
"But i wanna play with you," Thanos whined like a little kid not getting what he wanted.
You let out a sigh and rolled your eyes. "Fine, whatever."
When you heard the rules and the outcome of the game right before it was about to start, your heart stopped for a moment and you suddenly forgot to breathe.
The game was played in pairs, just you and Thanos, but only one of you was going to live and move on to the next game. Either you or Thanos had to die.
You made eye contact with Thanos but couldn't tell what he was exactly thinking by the expression on his face. One thing you knew at least was that he didn't seem happy about it at all, no. More like shocked, might have been even terrified.
"Well, i definitely didn't expect it to be like this," you chuckled, trying to keep the situation light and less serious than it actually was. "You or me, huh?"
Thanos had had quite a good time during the games, in his own sick way and being under the influence of drugs, but suddenly the games weren't so fun anymore. This time he was completely sober too; he needed to be sober every time he was around you.
Thanos looked around the area, seeing the shock and misery on other people's faces too, those few he could see. Nobody had expected anything like this to happen. Thanos looked towards one of the guards.
"Hey, is this a fucking joke?" he shouted, growing angry.
You slapped him on the chest. "Shut up, that's not going to help."
Thanos took a deep breath and rubbed his face. This could not be happening right now.
"Let's just play, shall we?" you suggested, trying to ignore the inevitable that was mere minutes away from you – the death of either you or Thanos.
Neither of you knew what to say for the first five minutes or so as you started to play the game, sitting on the ground in front of each other cross-legged. The silence between the two of you was the most awkward than you had ever experienced.
"Now that one of us is going to die, i need to admit something to you," you said, breaking the thick and suffocating silence. You had to say something, anything, to break the ice. You couldn't spend these last minutes like this and you definitely needed to talk about something else than anything related to these games you were in. Forget for a moment that all of this was your current reality.
Thanos furrowed his eyebrows, confused what it could be.
"I was the one to leave that fake love letter into your locker on a Valentine's day just to tease you," you admitted. "I just framed the other kid in class to be the guilty one."
"I knew you had something to do with it! It reminded way too much like your handwriting," Thanos said. Or maybe he just imagined that it resembled your handwriting since a part of him wished it would have been written by you. "How did you even come up with that in the first place?"
"We were just pranking you with my friends. It was my friend's idea," you explained. "Any confessions you want to make?" A smirk spread on your face as you looked into his eyes. "Now's the time to embarrass yourself since the other is going to take them to the grave anyway soon."
"Well," Thanos sighed, trying to think. "When we were 14 years old, i was the one to write note which would help me cheat in the math exam and let you get the blame for it."
"I already knew that."
"You did?"
"It was pretty obvious. Besides, i heard you talking about it with my brother," you stated.
"You're not mad, huh?'' he asked, raising his eyebrows. He had been prepared for you to get upset since you were proud of your schoolwork earned with many sleepless nights. At least that's what it had seemed like to Thanos.
"Nah, i was cheating on that exam too anyway," you admitted and shrugged.
"Damn, and i thought you were such a perfect hardworking student," Thanos smirked.
"I have flaws too," you pointed out. "So, give me the next one."
"It's your turn," he resisted.
"That doesn't count because i was already aware of it," you argued. "So, another one."
"Fine," Thanos sighed. "Well. One time when i was staying the night at your house with your brother, i might have stolen your bra from your room."
"You what?" you shrieked, eyes widening. You threw one of your marbles on his face, managing to hit him right under his left eye, making him flinch.
"Hey, i was a horny 15 year old guy and you were going through puberty very fast," Thanos tried to reason, throwing the marble back to you, making it land on your lap. "It was laying on the floor like you were even trying to make me notice it."
"How many times did i tell you to stay out of my room?" you groaned. "I did not leave it there on purpose for you!"
"I returned it after a day or two though!" Thanos defended himself, afraid you were going to throw another marble at him and this time actually hit his eye.
"You're unbearable," you muttered.
Thanos always found it amusing when he could get you mad, he had loved teasing you since day one of meeting you. Even right now he found it hard to keep a smile from rising on his face when you were all heated up.
"Fine, i guess i have to admit that i once took your bag of weed from your bag when we were 17," you admitted.
"That was you?" Thanos asked, now being the one to raise his voice at you. "I was looking everywhere for it!"
"We had a girl's night and needed some entertainment." You shrugged like it was no big deal but clearly for Thanos it definitely was a big deal.
"I payed a lot of money for that, you know," Thanos argued, for a moment looking all upset which made you chuckle.
You and Thanos told a few more confessions, making each other both laugh and turn shocked. Then, one thing popped into your mind what you had never dared to tell anyone else than your best friend.
"You know what's a little silly though," you started, suddenly turning a little shy.
"Hm?"
"I used to have a little crush on you when we were kids," you admitted.
Thanos raised his eyebrows, genuinely surprised. "What, really?"
"Yeah, i know it's dumb," you chuckled. "I just thought you were, hm, cute and cool and it was so exciting to have a crush on 'my brother's best friend' because that felt so forbidden, ya know?" You played with the marbles in your hand, twirling them between your fingers. "Not that i'd have ever done anything about it, even if i had gotten the chance."
I had a crush on you too, was what Thanos would have wanted to say. He did like you, but he had decided to hide it from you and everyone else. Of course he wasn't allowed to lay even a finger on you – your brother was always extremely strict that Thanos had to keep his hands away from his dear little sister. So he did and only kept teasing you and watched you from the distance when you thought he wasn't looking into your way.
"I knew you wouldn't be able to resist the mighty Thanos," he joked instead, straightening his back to appear taller.
You rolled your eyes. "I liked Su-bong, not Thanos."
He went silent for a moment, examining your face for a moment while being in his own thoughts. During these games and these past few days, Thanos hadn't truly stopped to properly look at your face with more detail. Stopped to realize how beautiful you had actually grown up to be. Well, you had always been pretty, very pretty, but now, even without makeup, you were gorgeous, all grown up. No trace of that moody teenager and his best friend's sister Thanos knew you as.
"What?" you asked, starting to feel unease under his intense stare.
"Nothing," he chuckled and looked away, continuing the game.
"Well, your turn," you urged.
Thanos gave it a proper thought, choosing what to confess – there were still a lot left now that Thanos started to actually think about it, and he wouldn't have enough time to go through all of them. Some of them smaller and more innocent things while some of them were much more deeper and personal which Thanos had a hard time to admit to you, even now in your last moments.
"When you and my family went for the skiing trip together when we were 16, i was assigned the same room as you to spend the few nights in," he explained. "I changed it last minute because i could see that your brother didn't like the idea of me staying alone with you for a very long time, even if it was just for the night."
"Why would he care?"
"He could tell i found you attractive and i guess he was afraid i'd make a move on you and end up hurting you," he explained and shrugged.
You could feel your cheeks warm up a little. "You thought i was attractive?"
Not just thought – think.
"Like every other guy in our class," he stated. "You have no idea how many dudes actually thirsted over you behind your back."
"Shut up, they did not," you laughed, feeling your cheeks turn pink.
"Oh they definitely did," Thanos confirmed, completely serious.
This was probably the first time you had properly had conversation with Thanos, just the two of you, and had genuinely a good time. Before he used to just tease you and didn't stay alone with you for a very long time. You liked this, feeling like he was now a different person compared to before. Well, back then he had been just a stupid teenager, now he was an adult. Although, you had seen him play these games, not taking them as seriously as the others, and could still see some of that young boy you knew years ago.
You would have wanted continue this for the rest of the day, but sooner than you expected, the time of the game ran out. You hadn't even realized how much time had passed and how it had suddenly ran out, just like that.
In the end, you were the one to lose the game.
You lost. You. Fucking. Lost.
"Well," you sighed and forced a wide smile on your face, trying to fight tears from filling up your eyes. You let out a nervous chuckle and tried to hide the fact from Thanos that you were, in fact, absolutely fucking terrified of what was going to come next. "This is it, i suppose."
You looked directly into Thanos' eyes, seeing them starting to glimmer from tears as well.
Thanos felt his throat tighten, like someone was choking him, and his stomach being filled with bricks. His heart was heavy, like it was turned into a stone. He couldn't believe this was happening.
"Y/N," Thanos mumbled, not knowing what to say. He could tell your smile was fake. Tell that you were so, so scared just by the look in your eyes. The tears that were about to run down your cheeks but you wanted to act strong and pretend that it was alright.
Thanos wanted to hug you. Pull you against him and squeeze you so hard your bones would be crushed and you wouldn't be able to breathe. Feel every part of you with his hands and try to remember your smell. Never let go. But he couldn't get his body to move.
"What, don't tell me you're going to start crying over me?" you joked to lighten up the situation but Thanos found nothing funny about that right now.
He clenched his jaw, not able to believe that this was actually real right now. That this was all over between you and him. Thanos had gotten used to you always being there, somewhere on the side, but now you were going to be ripped away from him. Even if you hadn't been a part of his actual life, you had been there somewhere, existing and living your life.
"It's okay, Su-bong," you whispered, taking a step closer to him and turning more serious now. You took his hands in yours, realizing how they had started to shake, and softly brushed his knuckles with your finger. "One of us has to die, right?"
You using his real name was like another twist in his heart. He didn't hear it often anymore and when he did, it felt so much more personal. You never called him Thanos, but now he'd never hear you call him by either of the names anymore.
"It's okay?" Thanos scoffed. "It's not fucking okay."
"Just, do me a favor if you get out of here?" you asked.
"A favor?"
"Can you... can you go and tell my mum and my brother that i've passed away," you pleaded. "I don't want them to think that i cut them out of my life on purpose. That i didn't care about them anymore."
Thanos didn't say anything back, the words were stuck in his throat like they were nailed there. All he could do was to nod. He would do anything you asked him to do. However, he had no idea how he would able to tell the news to them. That the daughter and the sister had died and they could never even see your body anymore.
Thanos had never, ever hugged you but right now, he had to. Had to embrace you one last time.
But a guard stepped between you and Thanos just before Thanos managed to pull you into a hug, separating you from each other.
"Time's up," the guard ordered behind the mask.
"Please, just one more second and –" you insisted but was interrupted.
"I said, time's up," the guard repeated a little louder and pressed the tip of the rifle against Thanos' shoulder, making him take a few steps back.
You swallowed, taking more distance to Thanos but still facing him. Tears had started to stream down your cheeks without you even noticing.
Thanos wanted to run towards you and wrap his arms around you, right now not caring if he got shot as well. Maybe that was a good way to go. You and him together, that would have been easier. Saved the pain of losing someone that would only get worse and worse as the time passed.
But he didn't do that. He stood there still, not moving a muscle, not believing that this was real. This was all a dream, right? No, this was a nightmare. Wait, surely this was just a hallucination from the drugs. This wasn't real, of course it wasn't. It couldn't be.
You were standing there with a smile on your face and cheeks wet from tears, looking Thanos directly into his eyes while having the rifle pointed at your head.
"I'm glad that i got to spend my final moments with you, Su-bong," you said with that sweet smile that always made Thanos' heart skip a beat. "You've always been a pain in the ass but i'm glad the last face i see before i die is yours."
The gunshot was louder than Thanos first expected, making him flinch and even almost jump in the air. He was meant to turn around so he wouldn't see your dead body lying on the ground but his feet were glued on their places and body too stiff to be able to move. Blood was pouring out of the hole in your head, eyes staring ahead lifelessly.
Player 163, eliminated.
☆☆☆
When the players were sent back to the dorm, Thanos didn't say another word. Nam-gyu tried to talk to him but Thanos just ignored him, not paying any attention to him at all.
The dorm was much more quiet than usual in general; people had lost their loved ones, having chosen their friend to play with.
And he had lost you. He had let you die to save his own life. He could have sacrificed himself and let you live; you would have had a lot brighter future ahead of you than Thanos would ever have.
Thanos got up and marched towards the bathroom.
He leaned against the sink and looked at himself in the mirror. Looked into his own eyes. That reflection was the last thing you saw before you were killed. He was the reason you were dead, the reason why the guard shot you in the head. You were now dead because he was a fucking coward.
Anger and fury filled Thanos so much that he felt like he was going to explode. He punched the mirror with his fist so hard that it cracked in pieces. There was blood on his knuckles now, but he didn't care about the pain. Hell, he'd take all the pain possible if it meant you'd come back.
What a fucking idiot he was, being so selfish to let you die. Choosing his own life over yours.
"I'm sorry," Thanos whispered, squeezing the edge of the sink with his hands so hard his knuckles turned white under the blood. "I'm so, so fucking sorry."
He should have let you win, he should have lost on purpose. Why did he have to be so selfish? You deserved to live more than him. You were supposed to go home and live your life, not Thanos.
Suddenly, someone walked out of one of the stalls, looking at Thanos all shocked.
"Um, this is the girls' bathroom," the player 222 quietly said, feeling even a little scared of all the noise of cursing and breaking the mirror.
Thanos just looked at her for a moment, realizing his mistake, and left the bathroom without another word. He walked to your bed and sat on the edge of the mattress which you had slept on for the past few nights here.
Then, Thanos saw something peeking under the pillow. He leaned over to pick it up, recognizing it to be the hairpin you always had in your hair. He brought it closer to his face, examining it with more detail. This was the only memory of you that Thanos had. The only item which showed that you had once been here, that you had been real. That you had participated the games along with Thanos.
He opened the cross that was hanging from his neck and put the hairpin there among the remaining pills. He needed to have a part of you with him, even if it was just a simple fucking hairpin.
If he got another chance and could do things differently, he would change so, so many things. He would let you know how he felt about you, even if your brother would have beat him up for that and told him to stay away from you. He would have hugged you. Hell, maybe even kiss you.
But most of all, he would have chosen another player as his partner to play with those stupid marbles.
But of course there was no going back anymore.
Thanos didn't remember when was the last time he had properly cried but that night he burst out crying while everyone else was asleep around him, forcing him to muffle the sobs into his hand.
He wanted you there to comfort him, to rub his back and tell him it was all going to be okay. That he was going to live through this. That he'd be alright. That this pain inside him was going to go away at some point.
Just a moment ago you had laughed together about the memories you had of each other but now Thanos could never do it again. He wanted to make more memories with you.
Why did he have to realize how big part of his heart you actually were when you were already gone? He tried to imagine your face in his mind, looking at him with a wide smile, but the image quickly turned back to your dead body lying on the ground, no matter how hard Thanos tried to brush that sight away from his mind.
He didn't want to play this game anymore. Now he wanted to go back home more than anything else.
Summary: You're in the red team during hide and seek and need to kill someone to survive. However, you've never killed anyone and don't think you'd be capable for that – until Nam-gyu finds you. After the game, he decides that you owe him a little favor.
A/N: If i don't get someone to slam me against a wall before summer ends i might actually go insane.
♧♧
You were hugging your knees, back against the wall. The knife was resting next to you on the floor, clean and untouched. You wouldn't be able to kill another person, you couldn't do that; to intentionally snatch someone and stab them until they'd be dead.
You were not a killer and didn't want to become one either. Maybe now was your time to die. Why would your life matter more than someone from the blue team anyway?
Nam-gyu rushed into the next room with Myung-gi, the door already open. They had already killed two players but why stop there when there was still time? The only person in the room was a girl wearing a red vest and crying on the floor. At least she looked like she was crying.
"You've given up already, huh?" Nam-gyu smirked, looking at your way.
"Leave me alone," you mumbled and rubbed your face.
Nam-gyu exchanged glances with Myung-gi.
"You're just gonna let yourself die? Just like that?" Nam-gyu asked, raising his eyebrows.
You knew you must have looked pathetic. They had no problem stabbing and killing people but you were nothing like these two men in the room with you.
"Mind your own damn business," you spat and turned your head to look at him. His face was covered in blood, as were his hands and the knife.
Nam-gyu just sighed. "Alright, suit yourself," he said and turned around to leave. They were actually having fun playing this game and didn't want it to stop just yet.
After around five minutes, Nam-gyu and Myung-gi had driven a man in a corner of a room, having him on his knees begging for the two men to spare his life.
Myung-gi was already raising his knife in the air, ready to stab, but Nam-gyu quickly grabbed his wrist to stop him. Myung-gi looked at him with a confused look in his eyes what Nam-gyu was doing.
"Don't," Nam-gyu mumbled, making Myung-gi lower his hand. Although, before Myung-gi managed to question Nam-gyu what he was doing, Nam-gyu already started beating the shit out of the man with his fists. He beat the poor guy until he fell unconscious. Not dead yet, just passed out. "Help me drag him."
For some odd reason, Nam-gyu didn't want you to die, at least not right now. He wanted to see more of you.
They returned to the room, where you were still sitting on the floor, and threw the unconscious man on his stomach on the floor. You flinched out of the sudden noise and froze still when you saw Nam-gyu and Myung-gi return to you, now with a blue vested man who was beaten up quite severely but you could see his back moving as he took air into his lungs.
"Get up," Nam-gyu ordered.
"What?" you asked, furrowing your eyebrows.
"Get up and stab him," he specified and nodded towards the man.
Your eyes widened. "You brought him here so that i'd kill him? Why?"
"Time's running out, sweetheart."
When you showed no signs of getting up, Nam-gyu let out a frustrated sigh and walked towards you. You would have backed away from him but you were already leaning against the wall.
He grabbed your arm and harshly pulled you up on your feet, making you crash against his chest before gaining balance. He picked up your knife from the floor and pressed it on your palm, wrapping your fingers around the handle.
"Kill him. Made your job already a lot easier," he whispered, face awfully close to yours. He looked pissed off, frustrated.
You shook your head. "No, i can't."
"Yes, you can," Nam-gyu gritted between his teeth.
"No, I–"
"Y/N for fuck's sake, it won't take long," Nam-gyu groaned.
How did he know my name?
Then, Nam-gyu pulled you with him closer to the unconscious man, both of you now standing right next to him. Nam-gyu pushed you down on the floor on your knees, making you let out another sob from your mouth. You squeezed your eyes shut, hand still holding the knife.
"Nam-gyu, i really, really don't want to do this," you pleaded. "Just leave me alone."
"Fine, then i'll do it," Nam-gyu whispered.
At first, you were relieved but soon after you felt Nam-gyu wrap his arms around you from behind, his chest glued against your back. You opened your eyes, glancing over your shoulder just to meet Nam-gyu's face a mere inch apart from yours. He put his hands over yours, making you have a firm grip on the knife which had its sharp tip pointed down towards the man's back.
The man was just starting to stir awake, mumbling something under his breath when Nam-gyu lifted your hands in the air and slammed the knife into the man's back.
Player 401, pass.
Your entire body was shaking, eyes getting filled with tears. Nam-gyu could feel and sense that, still wrapped around you. For fuck's sake, don't you dare to start having a panic attack right now, Nam-gyu thought.
You dropped the knife on the floor when Nam-gyu pulled you up to stand on your feet.
"Hey, hey, look at me," Nam-gyu said with a slightly softer tone in his voice, trying to get your attention. Then, since you didn't look at him, he grabbed your jaw with his hand and forced you to make eye contact with him. "You gotta toughen up if you wanna get back home. If he," Nam-gyu pointed at the dead man next to you, "was wearing the red vest instead of you, you would be lying on your own pool of blood. Would you want that, huh?"
"No," you mumbled.
"What was that?"
"No, i wouldn't want that," you whispered, tears in your eyes but you tried your hardest not to burst out crying right now in front of him.
"That's what i thought," Nam-gyu whispered. You could feel his hot breath hit your face by now, he had been slowly inching closer and closer to you until there was only a small gap left between your noses. "Now pull on that pretty smile on your face and get over it, we still have two more games to go."
Easier said than done, you thought.
♧♧
After the dinner and the votings, you approached Nam-gyu when he was alone by himself at his bunk.
"Why did you do that?" you asked, crossing your arms against your chest. Nam-gyu raised his eyebrows, not entirely sure what you meant. "Why did you help me kill that man? You could have just left me there alone."
Nam-gyu looked at you from head to toe. "Well, maybe i want to have one pretty face in the final game," he replied and shrugged, trying to act all cool but couldn't prevent the slight smile that spread on his face.
"Excuse me?" You narrowed your eyes and took a step closer to him, not entirely sure you'd heard him right. "You helped me because i'm 'pretty'?"
"What, you think i'd help some ugly 50 year old man like that?" Nam-gyu scoffed.
You turned your face away, afraid of blush rising on your cheeks and him making fun of you for being able to get you so flustered. Not many people had called you pretty before, not that you could recall. Hell, you didn't even consider yourself that good-looking, never had. But Nam-gyu seemed to see something in you that you didn't.
You didn't know what to say to that. "Well, thank you. Do i owe you a favor now or something?"
Nam-gyu narrowed his eyes and examined your face for a moment. His gaze was so intense that you had to turn your face away from him for a moment. What was going on in his head? He was an unpredictable man, you would have to be prepared for anything.
"A kiss," he eventually said.
"What?"
"You heard me," he smirked and pushed a strand of your hair behind your ear. "A kiss as the favor."
"I, uh," you stuttered, cheeks definitely red right now. "I have a boyfriend, just so you know."
It wasn't entirely true but not a lie either. Your relationship with him had been sort of on and off for the past year, and you knew there was no actual future with him – you were not going to start explaining all that to the man in front of you. The man who was suddenly cupping your left cheek with his hand.
"Yeah? Is he here now, hm?"
"Well, no, but–"
"What's the problem then? He doesn't have to know," Nam-gyu challenged and tilted his head.
"I'd rather not anyway," you managed to reply. Nam-gyu narrowed his eyes, but soon let go of you and took a step back.
You let out a breath of relief and turned around to quickly leave the awkward situation. However, before you'd manage to walk away, he grabbed your shoulders behind you, making you stand still.
"I'll get that kiss at some point," Nam-gyu whispered into your ear, sending shivers down your spine.
♧♧
At night, you weren't able to sleep. The fact that you had just killed someone with your own hands and had now someone's blood on them couldn't leave your mind.
Did he have children? A wife waiting for him at home? People who would miss him and you were the one to take him away from all that. Well, Nam-gyu made you do it, controlled your movements, but the knife was still in your grip.
You were curled up in a ball on your bed, mind racing. Of course you were glad to be alive and have a chance to return home but you felt dirty.
You just had to hope that this was the last time you'd have to kill someone like that.
♧♧
You were waiting for the fifth game, jump rope, to start the next day. Standing among the other players, you were getting more and more stressed.
You were absolutely terrified of heights.
"How about now, hm?" Nam-gyu asked quietly, having suddenly appeared next to you, making you flinch a little.
"What?"
"I think i deserve a 'good luck' kiss," he suggested with a smirk, quickly glancing at your lips.
"Are you serious?" you asked, raising your eyebrows.
"I'd never joke about kissing an attractive woman," he argued seriously.
Stop calling me pretty and attractive.
"Fine," you mumbled and pressed a quick kiss on his cheek.
"Aw, surely you can do better than that," Nam-gyu pouted.
"You wanted a kiss, you got your kiss," you stated and turned around, leaving him alone.
"What a tease," Nam-gyu mumbled and smirked, watching after you as you walked away.
The game went on, people moving across the bridge a few steps at a time. It all felt like the players were moving too slowly compared to how much time there was left but this was the fastest you could go.
As you were reaching the end of the bridge, confident that you would pass the game, one of the players standing on the platform had started pushing people off the bridge. They were only one step away from the finish line, but this man filled with greed of more money to him was killing the remaining players still playing the game.
You were starting to panic, only two players in front of you anymore; the man had already pushed three people down and he didn't seem to be willing to stop.
Nam-gyu wasn't against the idea at all – it actually amused him, even made him smile a little. Less players, more money. He didn't take part on the pushing, since the man seemed to handle it well enough.
However, when Nam-gyu saw you standing on the bridge, now only one person between you and the player 069, his face fell and something twisted inside his stomach. It was a strange feeling, something he couldn't explain.
Without another thought, Nam-gyu stepped forward and pushed the player 069 down, hearing only his screams that echoed in the room while he fell to the floor.
You were in such a shock of Nam-gyu doing that, that you almost forgot to jump on time. You did jump just in the last second but still a little too late, the rope hitting your ankle and making you lose your balance. You were just one step away from the finish line, so you managed to throw yourself forward just enough to grab the edge of the platform, now hanging in the air.
Fuck, it would be so embarrassing to die in the last second, just one step away, you thought, prepared to die. However, a hand grabbed your arm, ready to pull you up.
You looked up, seeing no other than Nam-gyu having a firm grip on your arm, squeezing it so hard it started to hurt.
Another player rushed to you as well, him along with Nam-gyu pulling you up on the platform too. When you were standing again, your legs were shaking like hell.
"You know, there are a lot easier ways to get my attention than act like a damsel in distress," Nam-gyu stated.
"I haven't asked for your help," you resisted and rolled your eyes, even though you were extremely thankful for him to save your life. "And i don't care to have your attention."
"Mhm," he hummed with a smug smile, amused how defensive you became. "A 'thank you' would still be nice."
"Well, thank you," you said and crossed your arms against your chest. "Why did you even do that?"
"I already told you, i wanna see a pretty face in the final game," he reminded you.
"Stop calling me pretty," you insisted.
"What do you want me to call you then?" he asked with a grin.
"I have a real name," you stated. You didn't want him to see what kind of effect he had on you with those little compliments, which probably didn't mean as much to him as they did to you.
"I'll keep the 'pretty face' for now," Nam-gyu decided and winked at you.
The game was soon over which meant that the remaining players, all 11 of them, were sent back to the dorm.
However, before you managed to reach the dorm and was left alone with Nam-gyu just for one moment, he stopped you.
"Not so fast," Nam-gyu said and grabbed your shoulder, pulling you back towards him.
"Huh?"
Before you could react, he pushed you against the wall next to you, pinning you there with his body against yours. Your eyes grew wider, completely taken aback of the turn of the events.
"Nam-gyu, what are you–"
You tried to push him away but he pinned both of your hands against the wall as well, his fingers wrapped around your wrists.
"I think you owe me another favor now," Nam-gyu said. "I did save your life again after all, didn't i?"
"W-what kind of favor?" you stuttered, though you were pretty sure what he meant.
Nam-gyu glanced at your lips, then brought his gaze back into your eyes. "The kiss on my cheek was very cute but i think i deserve a little more."
Your heart was now beating faster. How much more did he mean? To what extent? You didn't know this man, you had no idea what sort of things he was into.
"What are you... what are you going to do to me?" you asked, voice clearly trembling.
"Aw, no need to be so scared, sweetheart. I'll be good to you, yeah?" he assured you. He bit his lip and tilted your head up with his finger, brushing your lower lip with his thumb. His face was suddenly closer, the tip of his nose almost touching yours. "Now, can i get your permission to kiss you or not? Because i really, really want to do that right now."
Your heart skipped a beat and for a second you forgot how to breathe. For a moment you thought he was going to take you whether you wanted or not, but him asking for your final permission made you feel a little more at ease.
When you first saw him after the first game and as you played these games one by one, you would have never imagined to be in this situation as you were in right now.
You swallowed the lump in your throat and took a deep breath. Oh, what the hell, you're probably gonna die tomorrow anyway so what does anything matter at this point.
"Y-yes," you mumbled quietly.
"What was that?" Nam-gyu asked, though he had heard you just enough.
"Yes," you replied a little louder and with more confidence.
Not even a second passed after that when Nam-gyu's lips were already on yours, taking you into a deep kiss. He didn't hold back at all, no, he was taking all of you in. Hands were roaming up and down on your waist until settling to rest on your hips, keeping you hard against his body. You brought your hands on the back of his neck, brushing his hair with your fingers, tugging a few strands which made him moan into the kiss.
When you parted your lips just a little bit, he pushed his tongue inside your mouth. God, it had been such a long time since anyone had kissed you with this much passion and urgency. Kissed you like this was the last time you were ever going to see each other.
Nam-gyu broke the kiss just when you were starting to be out of breath, pulling his head back.
"Now, i think we're even," he smirked.
You could only stare at him with wide eyes, cheeks burning red, which amused Nam-gyu, making a large grin spread on his lips. He let go of you, but you couldn't get a word out of your mouth. What the hell were you supposed to say after a sudden make out session with a guy you barely knew?
You simply decided to go back to the dorm and leave him alone, but Nam-gyu wasn't entirely finished.
"Oh, one more thing," Nam-gyu said and pulled you back by grabbing your elbow, making you crash against his chest. He leaned towards the side of your head and whispered, "If you ever want to do that again, you don't have to wait for me to save your life."
With that, he let you go, and you quickly hurried away without saying anything back. You brushed your mouth on your sleeve and didn't look back, feeling Nam-gyu's piercing gaze on your back.
Nam-gyu wanted more of you, so much more, but he could tell that at the moment he wouldn't be able to go further than that with your consent. God, how much he wished he would have made a move on you much earlier and gotten to know you better.
Just read your carry her fanfic and loves it! Can we get one with dae ho where reader is pregnant with his baby they have been together for a while and he carried her across the bridge because she’s like 9 month pregnant!
Just me and her now
Dae-ho x Reader
Summary: During the jump rope game, Dae-ho needs to carry his newborn child over the bridge – without you.
Warnings: Angst. Just a lot of angst, no comfort.
A/N: So this doesn't exactly follow the request but i couldn't figure out how carrying her pregnant would be possible and i needed angst 🥲
☆☆☆
Dae-ho was sitting on a bench, a baby in his arms. His baby. The next game was supposed to be simple: cross the bridge while jumping over a rope. Simple, as long as you would be able to keep your balance and not fall. The drop was insanely high, killing you instantly once you'd hit the floor.
The players were starting to step on the bridge, one by one, one after another, but Dae-ho wasn't able to even stand up from the bench. He was scared, way too scared to be able to handle this on his own.
He needed you, right now. He wanted you back. Please, come back to me, Dae-ho thought, even though he knew you'd never be with him again.
☆☆☆
MINGLE
The first two rounds of mingle went well enough but as you were in the small room with four other players, you felt your pants turn wet.
"Um, Dae-ho..." you mumbled, fearing for the worst.
His eyes widened when he realized what was happening.
"Wait, now?" he asked, horrified. No, no, no. This couldn't be happening right now, in the middle of a game.
Unfortunately, you nodded your head and right after felt your stomach cramping.
"Mhm," you mumbled and grabbed Dae-ho's shoulder to keep your legs from betraying you and making you fall.
Even though you were now literally in damn labor, starting to give birth, of course they didn't let you to stay out of the rest of the game. You weren't able to run to the room on your own anymore, needing Dae-ho and Gi-hun to drag you with them to the safety.
☆☆☆
HIDE & SEEK
"Y/N," Dae-ho gasped, eyes wide as he looked at your stomach, the large red stain on your blue vest.
"Dae-ho," you mumbled. "I don't feel so good."
Your legs betrayed you but Dae-ho managed to catch you before you'd hit the floor.
"Don't you dare to die on me now, Y/N," Dae-ho said, a threatening tone in his voice. "Don't you dare to leave me alone."
"Dae-ho..." you mumbled, feeling weaker and weaker as the seconds passed.
Player 412, eliminated.
☆☆☆
You were supposed to be here to take care of your baby. Dae-ho didn't know what the hell he was supposed to do, you were supposed to be here and help him. Guide him how to be a good dad, or dad at all. Did he even hold the baby in the right way?
Dae-ho pulled his hoodie off, trying to wrap it around the baby and figure out how to wrap it around himself too to keep a firm hold on her while he'd cross the bridge. His biggest fear was to accidentally drop her – he could never live with himself if he killed your baby for a little mistake.
"Here, let me help you," Jun-hee offered, sitting down next to him. She had noticed Dae-ho struggle with the baby and his hoodie, stepping in. "May i?"
Dae-ho only nodded, desperate for someone to help him.
"Are you doing alright?" Jun-hee asked, resting her hand on his shoulder. Of course she knew he was anything but alright, but she wasn't sure what else to say. She wanted to be there for him but he had been pushing everyone away whenever they'd try to get any words out of him.
"No, i'm not," he admitted, feeling tears rise into his eyes for the millionth time. "I'm not alright."
Every time even only your name echoed inside Dae-ho's head, he could have burst out crying. He couldn't get your face out of his head, blood on your cheek and skin turning pale until you took your last breath.
You were supposed to raise your child together, not leave Dae-ho as a single father. Sure, the chance of dying in these games was high, hundreds of players already dead, but he had never imagined that he would actually hold your dead body in his arms. Hold your corpse the way he was now holding your baby.
Now, Dae-ho had to do everything he could to protect your baby, to make sure she got back home safely. That he'd get home with her and be able to tell her all about her mother. How amazing you were, so kind and caring. If Dae-ho were to die as well, she'd never learn who her parents were.
Jun-hee wrapped her arm around Dae-ho's shoulder, giving it a short squeeze to let him know that she was there for him, whatever he needed. Jun-hee had become fond of you as well, you were the closest person Jun-hee had gotten to know during these games so it hurt her as well to see you die – though she knew Dae-ho was in much, much worse pain.
Dae-ho looked at his child and wondered how much she'd turn to look like you as she'd grow up. How clearly he'd see your face on hers. Fuck, he wasn't able to do this. He couldn't do this.
Dae-ho could feel how people were staring at him, piercing holes into his back. He was starting to become so uncomfortable that he wanted to just turn around and yell at all of them what they were staring at. Yell at them to mind their own damn business.
Dae-ho stepped up on the bridge, holding the baby tightly against himself. Gi-hun had passed the game easily with Jun-hee's baby – it had to be simple and over sooner than he thought.
He looked over to the other side, towards the platform where Gi-hun and a few other players were standing, right at the end of the bridge. He imagined you standing there, you waiting for him. Smile and urge him to come there already.
"You can do it, i believe in you," your voice whispered to him in his mind.
I can do it, Dae-ho quietly mumbled to himself. So quietly that he wasn't sure if he had even said those words out loud or not.
When Dae-ho had successfully reached the other side, having passed the game, he almost didn't believe it was real. His heart was beating so fast it was probably going to scare the baby soon; he was surprised how calm she had stayed during the game too.
"I'll get us home," Dae-ho whispered, looking down at his daughter.
☆☆☆
At nights Dae-ho used to sleep in the same bed with you, hold you in his arms and have your head resting on his chest. He could smell your hair just a few inches from his nose. He could trace patterns on your bare elbow with his finger. He could kiss you goodnight.
Now, all Dae-ho had was your green jacket which wasn't even truly yours, but it had your smell attached to the fabric. He held it close to his chest, trying to imagine you to be there wearing it but it was now without an owner. Dae-ho held the jacket close to his face, imagining you to be there when he'd wake up, even though you were never going to be here anymore, you wouldn't materialize next to him out of thin air.
He didn't want the money anymore – he wanted to have you back.
The baby started crying next to him, waking Dae-ho up from his thoughts. He quickly sat up and carefully took the baby in his arms, trying to soothe her back to sleep.
"Shh, it's okay, it's okay," Dae-ho whispered and gently caressed her cheek. "We'll be okay, right?"
When the baby calmed down and looked Dae-ho into his eyes, he was now the one to burst out crying.
Here's my idea if you don't know how to continue: Mi-na and fem!user continue in the games. They'd help each other and stuff. And user once gets a really bad headache (after the games before bedtime) and Mi-na unwraps the player hoodie from her waist and goes to the bathroom to wet it with cold water. She then wraps it around user's head and kisses her goodnight. Just the way that would make user's cheeks flush red and heart flutter.
Maybe it would be good if they both got out of the games winning. They'd live a happy life and stuff, maybe have some intimate moments?
Kiss me again – please? - Part 2
Mi-na x Reader
Summary: Mi-na takes care of you when you have a headache. Later, you play a little game together.
A/N: Woman got like 5 min of screen time but here i am on my knees for her 🧎🏻♀️ not exactly like the request 🫶🏻❤️
Part 1
☆♡☆
Your head pounded and no matter what position you tried to lay your head on the pillow, the pain seemed to get only worse.
Thanos had all kinds of pills inside his cross, everyone was aware of that – he wouldn't happen to have strong painkillers too, would he? Ugh, he wasn't a damn pharmacy you could just go to pick up something.
"Hey," a familiar voice said nearby. You felt weight on the mattress, someone sitting on the edge of your bed. You opened your eyes slightly, Mi-na looking down at you all worried. "Headache won't go away?"
You shook your head, immediately regretting it, a new flash of pain slicing your brain. The pain had started during the hide and seek game, in the middle of it slowly getting worse and worse. Now, it felt like your skull was being smashed with a hammer.
Mi-na squeezed your shoulder and got up. "I'll be right back, okay?"
Mi-na walked towards the bathroom, unwrapping the hoodie from her waist. She turned on the water, trying to get the temperature as cold as possible before wetting it.
Someone flushed the toilet in one of the stalls, and a girl walked out of it right after. Mi-na glanced at her, player 222, who looked at Mi-na confused what she was doing but tried not to stare as she washed her hands next to Mi-na.
In the end, Mi-na squeezed all the extra water dripping from the hoodie.
Mi-na returned to you about five minutes later, sitting on the same spot again next to you.
"Lift your head a little," she said quietly. You opened your eyes, furrowing your eyebrows confused what she was doing, but did as you were told, lifting your head from the pillow just a little bit.
Mi-na wrapped her hoodie around your head, tightly twisting the sleeves into a knot. The fabric was wet, spreading coldness all around your skull.
"Oh, god," you muttered.
"Does it feel okay? Do you want me to take it off?" she asked.
"No, no, it feels nice. Yeah, nice. Thank you," you mumbled, giving her a thankful smile.
She smiled back at you and then leaned down, bringing her face close to you, and pressed a sweet kiss between your eyebrows, forehead being covered with the hoodie.
Your eyes widened a little. The feel of her lips on your face and that comforting smile on her lips made your heart flutter and skip a beat.
"Goodnight, try to get some sleep," she whispered, brushing a strand of your hair off your cheek.
"I'll try," you whispered, closing your eyes again.
Before Mi-na left, she pulled the blanket all the way up to your chin.
She hated to see you in pain, a heavy feeling in her heart when she looked at you lying on your bed with a migraine slowly killing you. She was afraid you wouldn't get enough sleep for tomorrow's game. Would her wet hoodie even help? Surely it was better than nothing.
Mi-na hadn't been prepared to start caring about someone in such a short time when she first joined these games.
But she cared about you.
☆♡☆
All the finalists, you and Mi-na included, had changed into white button-up shirts and black suits for the final game tomorrow. You felt clean for the first time in several days. You felt like a human they might have respected at some level.
"You know, you look pretty hot in that suit," Mi-na flirted, lifting her eyebrow as she looked at you from head to toe. Your cheeks were turning pink and butterflies storming inside your stomach, you couldn't get a word out of your mouth at first.
"Oh, uh, you too," you stuttered, then had to swallow to get the rest of the words out of your throat. "Pretty... hot."
She giggled at the pink blush on your cheeks, leaning against the table which you were about to have a dinner at.
Mi-na sat next to you while you ate, there were in total 10 players around the table. Along with you and Mi-na were Gi-hun, Myung-gi, Hyun-ju, Jun-hee and her baby, Min-su and three guys who you hadn't even seen before the previous game.
When it was time for the lights out, Mi-na sat with you on your bed, both of you cross-legged on the mattress, knees a few inches apart from each other.
"You know, we might die tomorrow," she stated, breaking the silence which you had been unsure how to fill.
"We've had the possibility to die every day," you pointed out.
"Yes, i know," Mi-na sighed. "I just, it's the last game. After that everything's over."
"Are we over too?" you asked quietly and swallowed the lump in your throat, looking into her eyes. "If we live."
"Well, i hope not," Mi-na replied and gave you a shy smile, starting to feel suddenly a little more nervous than what was usual for her. She had always been the confident one. The one to make you all giddy and nervous, but now for a second you could see that shyness on her face too – even if it lasted just for a short moment. "Can i... stay with you tonight?"
Mi-na had an awful feeling that tomorrow at least one of you would die. Five games you had survived together but this was no damn fairytale with a happy ending. She had a feeling that it would all end in a tragedy. So, she wanted to spend every last moment with you while she still could.
"With me? Here?" you asked, making sure she had actually said those words out loud and you didn't just imagine it.
"Yeah, i'd like that. If it's okay with you?"
You laid yourself down on the mattress, head hitting the pillow. Mi-na was lying on her side against you, her head resting on your chest and arm around your waist, pink nails gently digging into your ribs through the shirt.
"Are you sleepy yet?" Mi-na asked, drawing circles on your ribs. She was nowhere near tired and knew she wouldn't be able to fall asleep any time soon.
"No, not really," you answered. The thoughts and stress about tomorrow's game would definitely keep you up longer than necessary.
You were lying down together in comfortable silence for a while. Your fingers found their way into Mi-na's hair, twirling a few of her braids around your finger.
"Let's play a game," she whispered.
"A game? What game?"
"Hm," Mi-na hummed and then lifted herself enough to be able to turn to look at you. "Fuck, marry, kill."
"Fuck, marry, kill. Seriously?"
"Come on, it'll be fun," she giggled, though trying to stay as silent as possible not to wake up the other nine players sleeping in the dorm.
"Alright," you agreed, though very hesitantly, afraid what you were getting yourself into suddenly.
"Okay, so... Fuck, marry, kill..." Mi-na thought carefully and sat up, pulling you up with her. You were now back in your original positions, legs crossed. "Thanos, Nam-gyu, Myung-gi."
"Oh, definitely kill Nam-gyu," you answered immediately. "Hm, fuck Myung-gi and kill Thanos."
"Kill Thanos, for real?" Mi-na asked, raising her eyebrows. "He's an idiot but i'd say he's pretty fuckable. But you gotta marry someone."
"Gross, i don't want to marry any of them," you grimaced. You could easily kill all three guys but as much of an asshole Myung-gi was, he was kind of nice to look at. "How about you?"
"Kill Nam-gyu, marry Myung-gi and fuck Thanos."
"You'd marry Myung-gi?"
"He seems like a pet you could train during time," Mi-na explained. The image of that in your mind almost made you laugh outloud.
"Fair," you chuckled. "Okay, my turn, hmm... Ah, i know. Gi-hun, Young-il, Jung-bae."
"Oh, we're going for old men now, huh?" she laughed but turned dead serious just a second or two after, giving it an actual thought. "Well, fuck Young-il, kill Gi-hun and marry Jung-bae."
"I'd definitely fuck Young-il but marry Gi-hun and kill Jung-bae," you said.
"Aw, you'd kill Jung-bae?" Mi-na pouted. "But he seemed so cute and sweet."
"You're making me choose!" you argued. "And Gi-hun feels more like dad material, ya know?" Seeing him carry Jun-hee's baby around in the green hoodie and protecting her with his life? You wouldn't be able to kill that man even in theory.
"I think Jung-bae would be very sweet in bed though," Mi-na stated. "But i get you, Young-il was really hot for an old man. I feel like Jung-bae would be a little too gentle with you in bed but Young-il? He'd definitely be rough and slam you–"
"You're making me imagine things i do not want to see," you groaned and rubbed your face, shivers going through your body in a huge wave.
You looked at each other for a few seconds and burst out laughing at the same time, muffling the laughter into your hand.
"Okay, okay, i know next – the guards," Mi-na smirked.
"The guards?"
"Fuck, marry, kill – square, triangle and circle guards."
You gave it a serious thought. "Well, definitely fuck square, marry circle and kill triangle."
"Really? I'd fuck triangle and kill square for sure."
"Yeah? You like a man who can handle a gun?"
"How sexist of you to think that all of them are men! There might be a woman too in one of those pink jumpsuits," Mi-na argued, but you could see that she was treating it as a joke.
"I apologize, you're totally right, women can shoot a gun too," you agreed. "Wait a minute... you wanna do some gunplay in bed or something?"
"I'm not that kinky just yet," she assured you. "But your turn now."
You tried to think who to suggest but couldn't think of a suitable trio right now that would be a good group to argue about. "I don't know, do you have something in mind?"
"Hmm." Mi-na tapped her lower lip with her finger. The tone of her voice changed now completely to something different, talking a little slower and lowering her voice. "How about... Jun-hee, Hyun-ju and... me."
Your cheeks flushed all hot and red, heart beating a little harder against your chest.
"Y/N...?" Mi-na said slowly and bit her lip since you didn't answer anything to her question, only stared at her completely stunned. "You have to choose."
"I can't choose," you resisted, but your voice felt now weaker, starting to tremble.
"Would you kill me?" she tested, crawling a little closer to you now.
"No," you whispered.
"Would you fuck me?" she asked boldly with a smirk, inching even closer to you.
"Uh," you mumbled and swallowed the lump rising in your throat. The word leaving your mouth was a mere whisper, barely audible to you either. "Yes."
A wide grin spread on her face as she pushed you down to lay on your back. She then climbed on top of you, straddling you with her legs on both sides of your body, knees pressing against the mattress.
Is this really happening oh my god, you thought, brain turning into mush for having a gorgeous woman on top of you. You felt like you couldn't even breathe for a moment, shocked of how the game had turned from you and Mi-na laughing and joking around to her now being on top of you.
She brought her face closer to yours, the tip of your noses almost touching each other.
"Can i kiss you?" Mi-na whispered, looking directly into your eyes while waiting for a permission.
"Y-yes," you stuttered. Please.
She pressed her lips on yours, her braids falling over her shoulders to cover your face from any prying eyes.
Mi-na's hand roamed all around your body, going from your cheek to your chest, shoulder, stomach – ending up to the waistband of your black pants. You were waiting for her to slide her hand under your pants – you definitely wouldn't have stopped her – but she didn't do that. Instead, she pulled her hand up back to your cheek when she started to suck on your neck, planting gentle and a little less gentle kisses around your neck and collarbone.
A moan escaped your mouth, making Mi-na grin for what sort of effect she had on you. Then, she pulled away, much to your disappointment. Mi-na could sense that you would have wanted to go on with whatever you were doing at the moment, which made her smile with satisfaction.
"Now, i'd love to continue that further but i'd rather do it somewhere nobody around us," Mi-na whispered into your ear, her hot breath sending shivers down your spine. "And i think we should sleep for tomorrow's game."
And she fell asleep on you, listening to your rapid heart beat which calmed down after a while as you got used to her touch, her body being against yours. Her leg was thrown over your body, clinging on you like a koala on a tree.
Oh how much you wished you'd both leave this place alive so you'd be able to have her close like this again and again.
Summary: Your husband takes you to a fishing trip with his friends for the first time. It doesn't go as well as he had planned.
A/N: Sorry but the idea of the three of them going fishing together made me laugh so hard LMAO. The pic of In-ho holding a fish? I'm deceased, it look like a dad's facebook profile pic.
Probably unrealistic cos nobody ever took me fishing so idk what's going on when guys go fishing. Also this is very short.
♡♡
You had never gone fishing in your life, barely even held a fishing rod in your hands.
When your husband suggested you to join their fishing trip one day, you were hesitant. As far as you knew, they never invited anyone else to go with them – it was just the three of them.
Would In-ho's wife come as well? Not leaving you all alone to hang out with three guys, one of them you had met only once or twice before.
"Honey," your husband had said while you were folding the laundry. "I know i've been busy lately and we haven't spent much time with each other... Why don't you join us for the fishing trip tonight?"
"You're asking me to go fishing with you and your friends?" you scoffed, raising your eyebrows, feeling like it was a joke.
"Well, why not? My friends have been dying to meet you anyway. They haven't seen you since the wedding," he said, walking towards you. Standing right in front of you, he rubbed your shoulders and looked at you with the expression on his face you could never say 'no' to. "Besides, i planned to take you out for dinner afterwards. I'll reserve a table in some nice restaurant. What do you say?"
You thought about it for a moment. Fishing. Seriously? You had never imagined that you'd be into fishing.
So, here you were. On a boat in the middle of a sea, wearing an orange life vest like the three men around you. They were joking around together, having their own inside jokes which you couldn't relate to.
In-ho asked how you were doing and if you'd like to visit them next week for lunch – his wife was inviting a few friends over. You liked In-ho, he was a sweet man and had even been the bestman at your wedding.
You watched the guys fish and compete with each other who would catch the biggest fish.
You had brought a camera with you as well, loving photographing a lot. You took a few pics of the guys and the beautiful surroundings around you.
Suddenly, something almost ripped the fishing rod out of In-ho's hands, pulling it hard under the water. God, the fish must be enormous. It took a lot of effort, but In-ho managed to get whatever had caught the hook to himself. As you had guessed, it was a massive fish, the biggest you'd seen anyone you knew ever catch.
In-ho was now holding the fish, looking directly into the camera with a smile on his face. You snapped the photo.
After that, you sat back down, prepared to just spend your time sitting there for the rest of your time there. However, your husband thought a little differently.
"Okay, your turn," he said, motioning you to get up.
"What?" you asked while he already took your hand and pulled you up.
"Your turn to catch a fish," he specified.
"Oh, no, i'm fine just watching here," you chuckled nervously, not wanting to embarrass yourself in front of three people who actually knew how to fish.
"Don't be silly," he sighed, rolling his eyes. A smile played on his lips as he looked at you. "I don't want you to be bored."
"I'm not bored, alright?" you insisted, but he could see right through you; you were definitely bored as hell.
"Come on, one fish and then i'll take you home," he suggested, pushing it until you reluctantly gave in and took the fishing rod into your hands.
He taught you how to use the rod and what you needed to do – it was rather simple, you didn't know what you were so stressed about. All of it sounded easy enough.
"I can't catch anything, nothing's happening," you groaned, getting frustrated as several minutes had passed.
"You must have some patience," he said, knowing how impatient you were in everything you did; it only amused him.
"This isn't –"
Then, something pulled the rod under the water, a little harder than you were at first prepared for. Quite a lot harder, actually. For a second you became excited, about to catch something big on your first try, but the sudden pull caused you to trip over the edge of the boat, diving straight into the water face first.
"Y/N!" your husband shouted in panic when you ended up under the surface. However, you floated back up quite fast due to the life vest, the salt water stinging your eyes. He stretched his arm towards you, leaning over the edge. "Come on, i'll help you up."
You took his hand, but then a mischievous smile spread on your face. Instead of letting him help you back to the boat, you pulled him towards you, kicking yourself away from the boat. He wasn't prepared for you doing such an act, falling into the water as well.
"You'll regret doing that," he said, trying to sound all threatening but had a playful smirk on his face.
You backed away from him, pushing his chest with your foot, but he managed to grab your leg and pull you back to him before you managed to escape too far.
You let out a little unintentional scream out of your mouth as you crashed against his chest, getting salt water into your mouth on the way.
As he held you still by your elbows and kept an eye contact with you, you tried to hold your laugh for a moment but soon both of you burst out laughing.
You rested your hands on his shoulders and wrapped your legs around his waist. His hands found their way to support you by your butt, even though the vest was already keeping you up enough.
"Just so you know," you said with a serious tone in your voice, raising your eyebrows. "I'm never coming to fish with you and your friends again."
He let out a laugh. "I suppose we have to figure out another hobby for the two of us, hm?"
"Deal," you laughed.
He cupped your cheek with his hand, bringing your face closer to press a soft kiss on your lips.
You eventually got back to the boat, and your husband went to fetch a towel for you. What you didn't realize, that choosing a white t-shirt for this trip wasn't the best idea, your red bra extremely visible through the fabric.
At first you were confused why Yeong-gil's gaze was suddenly on your chest, and when you realized it, you were quick to wrap your arms around to hide yourself the best you could.
When your husband came back, he gave a hard smack on the back of Yeong-gil's neck, making him wince that it had actually hurt. He shot an angry glare at him which made the captain turn away and return to In-ho.
Your husband took the life vest off you, wrapping a towel around you instead.
"So, where did you plan to take me for dinner? You promised something nice."
"It's a surprise," he stated. "I think we'll need to go home to take a shower and change our clothes before i'll take you anywhere around other people.
"We'll take a shower, huh?" you smirked. "Wanna play in the water a little more?"
"I'd prefer to do it when those two aren't looking," he whispered, nodding towards his two friends.
He better take you out to eat something else than fish tonight.
Summary: You get a seizure during one of the games and get help from someone completely unexpected.
A/N: Never imagined to write about this junkie but this gif made me kinda feel things. OOC but idc. Also didn't know if i'd even post this cos it's basically just for myself as someone who has epilepsy and deadass would actually die there bc of it if i didn't get my meds 🧍🏻♀️
i'll probably delete this
♧♧
When you were about to start the first game, you noticed someone familiar in the distance. At least someone who reminded you a lot about a specific person from your past. No, it couldn't be him… could it?
When you locked eyes with him, you got your answer – it indeed was him.
Nam-gyu.
The boy you had gone to the same middle school with all those years ago. The boy who hung out with your brother after school at your house. The boy who sat next to you during math classes and kept stealing your erasers. The boy who told your first crush that you liked him, just to tease and make fun of you, and you ended up running back home crying. The boy who stared at you a little too long when he saw you in bikinis for the first time when you were 15 years old — though you didn’t seem to be aware of that. The boy who was a pain in the ass for eight years of your life.
"Well, well, well. Who do we have here?" Nam-gyu said when you had returned to the dorm after the first game, standing in front of you with his hands in his pockets. He had a blue ‘O’ patch attached to his green jacket while you had chosen the red ‘X’, dividing you into separate groups, just like back in school.
You hadn't seen him at all in the past 10 years. He had changed a little but not enough to be unrecognizable to you.
"Nam-gyu," you said, crossing your arms. "Long time no see."
As the games progressed, you ended up into separate groups. Nam-gyu was with Thanos, Min-su and Se-mi, while you were with Gi-hun, Dae-ho and Jun-hee. You barely looked at his way, almost forgetting he even was there.
Only once in a while did you spare a glance or two towards his way. However, Nam-gyu was looking in your way a lot more than you did to his; he hadn't seen you at all in a decade and god, how much you had changed. The last time he had seen you, you had been a girl but now you were a grown ass woman.
And pretty as hell too, though that's something he'd keep to himself.
When the hide and seek game was about to start, you examined the triangle key that was hanging on your neck.
"Hope you're still a fast runner like in middle school," Nam-gyu snickered behind you, holding the knife assigned to him and gently tapped your shoulder with the flat side of the blade. "Because i'm gonna hunt you down."
"Yeah?" you said, crossing your arms and tried to look all confident, lifting your chin up high. "I'm gonna wear you off quite quickly."
Nam-gyu left you alone and teamed up with Myung-gi who had changed vests with Jun-hee, now both men in the red team.
During the game, you ended up losing Dae-ho who you had teamed up with, having no idea where he was right now. However, you kept searching for the exit on your own, opening as many doors as you could with your key, but always running into dead ends.
Just after you had entered the next room, Nam-gyu right behind you, you suddenly stopped on your tracks. All you did was stare ahead of you, mind completely blank.
"There you are," Nam-gyu smirked, finally catching up with you, but the arrogance quickly turned into confusion for how you were acting at the moment, not answering to him with some sarcastic remark.
You had suffered from epilepsy since you were 12 years old. Nam-gyu knew that, he had been there when you got a seizure after school. Your brother knew what to do, but all Nam-gyu had been able to do was to watch you from the side since he had never been in that sort of a situation, not knowing what the hell was happening.
You hadn’t gotten a single seizure in the past three years, thanks to your medication, so you hadn’t thought about it here that much before. The medicine had to be taken twice in a day but now you didn’t have it here, having been several days in a row without a single pill.
Oh fuck. No, no, not right now, Nam-gyu thought.
Then, your legs betrayed you but Nam-gyu managed to catch you before you hit the ground, gently laying your body down.
What the hell was he supposed to do?
“She has to stay on her side,” your brother said, turning your body on the side. “Go grab a pillow or something soft to place under her head.”
Nam-gyu didn’t have a pillow here or anything soft. He was on his knees next to you, starting to fully panic what to do. Soft, soft, soft, something to protect your head. Nam-gyu ended up just placing your head on his lap, not restricting your head from moving but making sure you weren’t hitting it on the floor while convulsing.
He wasn't sure how long it took, probably only a minute or two, but it felt much longer than that. Eventually, your body stopped moving and for a second Nam-gyu was afraid you had actually died, having your body completely limp and eyes closed. He put his finger under your nose, feeling air hit his skin. Okay, you were still breathing, you weren't dead.
Nam-gyu was running out of time, and he still needed to find someone to kill. Someone wearing a blue vest. He had killed one player but it was together with Myung-gi, so he had to find another.
Someone like you.
You would have been an easy target, lying on the floor unconscious, still breathing – not able to fight back. But he couldn't get himself to stab the knife through you.
If he simply left you here to lay down all by yourself, someone from the red team might find you and kill you instead. Nam-gyu groaned and rubbed his face, thinking what the hell he should do.
Nam-gyu eventually stood up and walked to a corpse nearby, gathering blood into his hands from the pool of blood the man was lying on. Then, he rubbed the dead man's blood on you: your shirt (both on your stomach and back), face, hands – anywhere to make it look like you were injured and dead.
"This is really fucking nasty but you don't leave me much of a choice," Nam-gyu mumbled. God damn it, he wasn't made to taking care of someone else – he could barely take care of himself.
There was 15 minutes of the game left. As long as you wouldn't move an inch or breathe too loudly, you'd be safe, he was sure of it. Why did he even care? He didn't. If you died… whatever. He didn't give a damn about you. Of course not.
Alright, maybe he did just a little. Maybe he did have a crush on you in middle school but obviously that had already passed. Of course it had.
Nam-gyu shook his head and left the room without looking back.
“Where have you been?” Myung-gi asked, but Nam-gyu just brushed his question off and walked past him, making Myung-gi follow.
When Nam-gyu had killed a blue vested player, along with Myung-gi, he returned to you, still laying on your side. Not dead, just asleep. Untouched.
Nam-gyu shook your shoulder to get you awake. He'd rather get you out of there by himself than have the guards to drag you away.
"Hm?" you mumbled, still half asleep but slowly stirring awake.
"Wakey wakey, princess," Nam-gyu said, looking you into your eyes now that you were awake.
"Don't call me a princess," you managed to mumble, even in your hazy state, brain like scrambled eggs right now.
Nam-gyu helped you to sit up and lean against the wall. You winced and held your head, getting a strong and pounding headache.
"Where are we? What’s going on?" you asked, confused about the entire situation, struggling to remember what had happened.
"Still in the middle of the game," Nam-gyu explained. "You got a seizure."
You just stared at Nam-gyu with narrowed eyes, tired and sensitive to lights which were surprisingly bright at the moment. You tried to make a sense of this situation but your brain was total mush.
"I think i'm gonna throw up," you muttered, feeling something build up in your throat but nothing came out. "How much time is there left?"
"Around five minutes," Nam-gyu replied.
Your head was killing you right now and you were feeling too exhausted to even sit up, so you lowered yourself back on your side, letting your head rest on Nam-gyu's lap.
It startled him a little but he let you stay there, rest on him for those five minutes.
♧♧
When it was time for the light’s out, you were afraid of falling asleep. What if you got a seizure in your sleep? You liked to sleep on your back the most but if you did get a seizure at night, you’d probably choke on your own spit. Sleeping on your side didn’t feel so natural to you and you’d almost always eventually roll on your back.
You had an idea in your mind but you hated yourself for it. You couldn’t just go and ask him about it. If it would be okay with him. If he could help you out just for this night. It felt stupid to even consider it an option, surely he’d just laugh at you how ridiculous you were being and make you go back to your own bed.
You had mostly recovered from the seizure earlier and the realization of the entire situation hit hard on your face. You hated others watching you have a seizure, it was so embarrassing. Humiliating. In front of your family it wasn’t as bad but with strangers or people like Nam-gyu — people who already kept teasing and making fun of you? Hell no.
Nam-gyu was awake in his bed when you approached him.
“Already miss me?” he teased.
“Can I…” you started, the words stuck in your throat. Oh god this felt so wrong. “Can I sleep with you tonight?”
Nam-gyu instantly sat up, now curious what you were exactly suggesting.
“Wanna sleep with me, huh?” he smirked, eyeing you from head to toe. “Here? While all these other people sleep? Damn, didn’t know you were such a —“
“I didn’t mean like that,” you spat, interrupting him before he’d go into any further details. “I mean just sleeping. Only sleeping. Nothing else.”
Nam-gyu narrowed his eyes, an amused smile spreading on his lips right after. “Thought you couldn’t stand the thought of me sleeping even in the same room with me.”
“What?” you asked, confused what he meant.
“You know, when I’d stay with your brother and —“
“I was 13 years old for fuck’s sake,” you groaned. “Just, can I or do I leave you alone?”
“If you promise not to snore though,” he pointed out.
“I do not snore,” you scoffed.
“Well, you kinda do. I heard it all the way from— Ow!” Nam-gyu started but winced when you hit him on his shoulder.
“Just forget it,” you mumbled and turned around to leave, but Nam-gyu just grabbed your hand and pulled you back.
“You can stay if you want to.”
“What?” you asked, furrowing your eyebrows. “Seriously?”
“I don’t mind." He shrugged, trying to act all nonchalant, but on the inside he was going crazy at the moment. Having you sleep in the same bed with him? You being the one to suggest it? This had to be some sort of a dream which he would wake up from any moment now.
You hesitantly laid yourself down on the bed, Nam-gyu backing off towards the edge to make room for you. You swallowed while laying your head on the pillow, Nam-gyu breathing on the back of your head. He moved closer to you so that his chest was now against your back, making sure that you wouldn’t roll on your back during your sleep.
Nam-gyu kept his hand on your stomach. “And no funny business with your hands, alright?” you ordered, being able to imagine how his hands would start roaming around your body at night.
“I’ll try to behave,” Nam-gyu smirked.
You already knew this was a bad idea but you couldn’t figure out any other solution to be able to sleep at ease.
When you woke up in the morning, having slept all night without waking up even once, you felt a hand cupping your left breast.
You hit Nam-gyu on his ribs with your elbow, startling him awake.
“Jesus christ, what the hell was that for?” Nam-gyu groaned, pulling his hand away.
“I said no touching with your hands,” you repeated with a firm tone.
“Hey, I’m a guy with a pretty girl in my bed, it’s simply an instinct I can’t control,” Nam-gyu tried to reason with a serious expression on his face. His arm was numb from your weight, feeling pins and needles all around the limb.
You tried the ignore the fact how he called you ‘pretty’, turning your face away just in case you’d blush.
“Whatever,” you mumbled and got up from the bed.
Nam-gyu looked after you when you walked away from him. He had liked you sleeping next to him surprisingly lot, a little too much maybe. Nam-gyu watched for a moment when you talked with player 456 about something.
He had known you for years when you were kids. Back then you were like the annoying little sister to him but now? All grown up and independent? You definitely weren’t like an annoying little sister anymore. Annoying, probably, but otherwise he wasn’t really able to explain what he was feeling.
All Nam-gyu knew was that he wanted you close to him again.
♧♧
Before the jump rope game, you were getting anxious. What if you got another seizure while you were standing on the bridge? Well, at least people wouldn’t stare at you too long since you’d instantly drop down anyway — looking at the good sides.
Nam-gyu stared at you, biting your fingernail that you always did when you were stressed. A thought of him carrying you over the bridge to ensure that you would reach the other side safely crossed his mind but he knew he wouldn’t manage to do that. He didn’t trust that you wouldn’t suddenly zone out in the middle, even if it would be just a few seconds, and get swept off by your feet. Nam-gyu was sure that you were afraid of the same thing just by the sight of you at the moment.
His own nerves were going crazy too, the crave — the need — for drugs not being helpful at all, making it all even worse. But the crave, the need, for you was even stronger right now.
Nam-gyu took a deep breath and then walked to you. He grabbed you by your arm, turning your body to face him.
“Wha—“ you started but was interrupted by him crashing his lips on yours, taking you into a deep kiss. He had his hand on the back of your head, making sure you wouldn’t escape his hold before he was done.
You were too shocked to even be able to move. Just when you were starting to actually realize what he was doing and you were able to react to the kiss, he already pulled away.
“Just in case one of us dies,” he whispered and winked, the left corner of his lips rising a little. Then, he let go of you and walked to the bridge without another word.
You just stood there for several seconds, looking after him with red cheeks and lips apart from the shock. Lips that Nam-gyu had just kissed. What the fucking hell got into him, you thought. How were you supposed to concentrate on the game now that you had the memory of him kissing you in your mind?
You shook your head, trying to erase Nam-gyu out of your mind, but he was stuck there for good.
Just focus on jumping at the correct moment. Don't think about it, just concentrate on the rope which will kill you if you don't jump on time. Don't think about how nice his lips had felt, just concentrate on the rope which will swipe you to your death if you don't jump on time.
Jump, step, step, step, jump, step, kiss- stop it, step, jump, his lips- shut the fuck up, jump, gap, fuck there's a gap, jump... You were sweating by now, heart hammering inside your chest. Over half way, you could do it. Don't look at the corpses all the way down there, don't look at them. But the kiss, damn, SHUT UP.
When you jumped to the platform among the other players who had passed the game, you could have fallen on your knees and kissed the ground under your feet.
Your gaze found Nam-gyu standing on the side, looking at the time which was running down second by second. Couple of minutes to go.
You walked up to him and when you were standing right in front of him, you slapped him on the cheek before he managed to say a single word. Not too hard to hurt but hard enough to sting a little.
“Why did you do that?” you spat.
“You were the one to hit me,” he stated, holding his cheek with wide eyes.
“Why the hell would you kiss me like that?” you asked. “That was the worst moment to do that.”
“Yeah? So there’s a right moment for that, huh?” Nam-gyu smirked, and you wanted to slap that smile off his face but managed to keep your cool. You just rolled your eyes. “Call it for good luck.”
“I’m your good luck charm or something?” you asked, crossing your arms.
“Something like that,” he smiled. “Come on, don’t act like you didn’t like that.”
“Don’t be so arrogant,” you sighed.
“Well, you didn’t get a seizure so it must have had an effect here,” he said and tapped your head with his finger three times. You brushed his hand away.
“You think you kissing me has the same effect like my medicine?” you scoffed and shook your head. “Delusional as always.”
“I saw the way you blushed after the kiss though,” he smirked, tilting his head to the left.
“I did not,” you denied, though it was useless to lie about it to him at this point.
"Mhm," he hummed, amused at your reactions. He took a step closer and tilted your chin up with his finger, looking directly into your eyes. "Do let me know if you want to sleep together again though."
With a wink, he walked past you, leaving you by yourself with confused thought and feelings and heart beating rapidly.
could you make a part two of “Carry her” where Jun-ho finally makes it to the games while Gi-hun, Player 100, Minsu, Myung-gi, Y/n, Jun-hee, the baby player 336, player 353, player 203 and player 039 are at the final game? And No-Eul comes to help save Jun-hee from sacrificing herself and shooting myung-gi in the leg to stop him from trying to push Y/n? (and ofc this is where Gi-hun is holding the baby while trying think of a way to save Y/n and Jun-hee)
SORRY THIS IS SUCH A LONG REQUEST😭

Jun-hee x Reader

♡♡♡
"So, who do you think will be the one to drop dead next?" the long haired VIP asked the others, letting out a laugh before taking a sip from his drink.
"I think it'll be you," a female voice answered behind them. The VIPs turned around, confused why there was a pink guard aiming a gun towards the long haired VIP. The confusion quickly turned into panic.
"Woah! Put that thing down," the man gasped, voice trembling. "I –"
Then, he indeed was the one to drop dead next, falling back on the couch but now with a hole in his head.
The woman got up, ready to flee and save herself, but the guard was faster, shooting a bullet through her brain as well.
When all the VIPs were dead, blood splattered on the couches and the floor, No-eul took the mask off her head and threw it on the floor.
"Got the full experience now," No-eul mumbled and stepped over the woman's corpse.
No-eul looked at the final game play behind the glass, the players currently standing on the second pillar – six of them remaining. The first round had eliminated four players instead of the required one.
No-eul looked at especially the young girl, player 222, who had been pregnant and given birth during one of the games. An older man, player 456, was holding her baby, protecting her, since the girl could barely walk.
Player 222 was one of the few people who No-eul cared about among the players, even though she didn't personally know her and most likely would never either.

Myung-gi had a tight grip on your neck, squeezing it hard but not enough to choke you – yet, at least. He held you in his arm's length, close to the edge of the pillar. Just two or three steps behind and your foot would face only air.
"Myung-gi, please," Jun-hee begged, trying to stay calm but afraid he'd let go of you and make you drop. She felt her voice trembling as she spoke the words to him. "Please let go of her."
"Yeah? You want to save your little girlfriend here? Walk away and raise our kid together, huh?" Myung-gi rambled, keeping a tight hold on your throat but looking into Jun-hee's eyes. "Yeah, our kid, Jun-hee. That kid is mine. It's my kid too."
"Myung-gi –"
"I've seen how you look at each other," Myung-gi chuckled. "I get it, she's pretty and all. While I'm a piece of shit who's not capable of being a dad. That's what you wanted to hear, Jun-hee? That's what you think, right?"
"Myung-gi, that's not what i think. Can we talk later and figure things out, okay?" Jun-hee insisted, trying to keep him as calm as possible but he was just getting angrier as the seconds passed. He didn't even know why he was so furious. Was it just jealousy? Not wanting to see Jun-hee with someone else?
"We –" Myung-gi started but couldn't get past the first word because suddenly Myung-gi let go of you, a loud scream escaping his mouth. He fell on his knees, holding on his leg which started to bleed. Myung-gi pressed his hand on his leg, painting his palm red.
Everyone noticed the blood and how he had gotten injured, as baffled as others how it had happened out of nowhere. Was that a gunshot? Who the hell had shot him out of nowhere? There was still 4 minutes left of the second round.
But when Myung-gi had let go of you, he gave you a slight push, making you lose your balance and take couple of steps backwards. Your foot didn't meet the ground on the third step. However, you managed to hold your hands on the edge, the rest of your body hanging in the air. You wouldn't be able to stay there very long, there wasn't anything you could properly grab.
"Y/N!" Jun-hee shouted in panic and ran towards you. "Take my hand, i'll help you up."
"No, i'll just pull you down too," you refused and shook your head, tears rising into your eyes. You were going to die but you weren't going to take Jun-hee with you and make her child an orphan.
Oh my god you were really going to fall and fucking die. You had come this far, you could not die right in the end.
Then, your fingers slipped and you lost the hold on the pillar. Jun-hee had a tight grip on your arm but she wouldn't be able to pull you up on her own, she was too small and fragile for that.
"Someone help me!" Jun-hee shouted over her shoulder as she grabbed your arm, squeezing your flesh as hard as she could. She didn't care about whatever you said; she needed to save you. She needed you. She couldn't handle even the thought of losing you.
She had to save you, just like you had saved her.
"Please, please don't let go," Jun-hee pleaded, her body starting to slowly slide down further towards the edge, inch by inch, because of your weight. The rough surface was scratching her pants, but she tried to push herself back as hard as she could, using all the strength she had in her body.
Your hand was becoming sweaty, you couldn't hold on to Jun-hee much longer. You wanted to let go so you wouldn't take Jun-hee with you. She was crying – no, you were both crying.
The moment Myung-gi pushed you over the edge, Gi-hun knew he needed to help you, immediately. But he was holding the baby, trying to figure out what to do. Of course he needed to help you and Jun-hee, she couldn't get you up by herself, but what was he going to do with the baby? If he put her down and left her alone, one of the players could grab and kill her. But he needed to take that risk, otherwise you would be dead.
Gi-hun made it to you and Jun-hee just in time, grabbing your arm and pulling you up with Jun-hee. Just a few more seconds and you would have been dead, bones crushed all the way down there on the floor with the players 353, 203, 039 and, sadly, Min-su.
When you were up on your own two feet again, Jun-hee immediately crashed against you and wrapped her arms tightly around your waist, almost suffocating you. Her body was trembling, tears falling down her cheeks.
"Thank god you're safe," Jun-hee mumbled against your chest, closing her eyes and trying to calm herself down. Shake off the thought of you being dead.
"Are you alright?" Gi-hun asked, his hand on your shoulder and worry bright in his eyes. You managed to just nod, heart racing from that moment. That was the closest you had come to death during these games.
Another gunshot made all of you flinch, separating Jun-hee from you. Now the player 100 had collapsed on the ground, a bullet hole on the middle of his forehead.
Stage 2 – pass.
"Who the hell is firing the gun?" Myung-gi shouted, frantically looking all around the large room for a hidden sniper but wasn't able to spot one. "There wasn't supposed to be guns!"
It was for the players to decide who were to die and who to live, not the guards this time, unless the time would run out and there had still been plenty of time left.
There was no answer, only Myung-gi's loud words hanging in the air. The bridge started to slowly connect the second pillar to the third, letting you to move to the last stage.
Third pillar. You, Jun-hee, Gi-hun and Myung-gi facing each other – nobody else left anymore. Gi-hun was holding the baby, while Jun-hee had grabbed your hand, her fingers squeezing your hand hard; afraid you'd leave her side.
Right after you had pressed the button, turning it from red to green, Myung-gi grabbed the metal pipe to himself, about to push one of you over the edge. He was going to live, no matter what. Jun-hee stepped in front of you, trying to protect you from him – he wouldn't push Jun-hee off, right?
Although, Myung-gi had officially gone insane, so there was no knowing what he was about to do. However, due to the wound on his leg, leaving a blood trail on the ground, he wasn't able to move as quickly as in the beginning. He wasn't as big of a threat anymore to you.
Before the third round had lasted even a minute, another gunshot echoed in the room. This time, Myung-gi collapsed on the ground, another bullet shot into him – now to the head, the shot much more fatal.
Congratulations – you have now passed the game.
All of you just stood there in complete shock what had just happened. That wasn't in the rules. You were supposed to decide the victims when there was still time left. Kill each other.
Although, what mattered the most right now was that you, Jun-hee, the baby and Gi-hun would walk free and alive out of here.
"Is it really over?" Jun-hee asked quietly, feeling like it was all too good to be true.
"I guess so," you mumbled. That was it? There had to be another twist coming up. Where were you supposed to go now?
Jun-hee hesitated for a moment but then walked closer to Myung-gi, kneeling down next to him. She just looked at him, examining his face. Eyes open, staring into nothing. Lips slightly apart from each.
"Goodbye, asshole," Jun-hee whispered and cared enough just to close his eyes.
Then, she returned to you and felt a weight dropping from her shoulders now that Myung-gi was gone. That she'd never have to see him again.
☆☆☆
Jun-hee turned her back to her past, facing now her future – you.
"Jun-ho?" Gi-hun gasped as the four of you reached the boat by the beach. Not a moment too soon.
"Are you the only survivors?" he asked, looking at each of you one by one – his gaze especially glued at the baby Gi-hun was holding. Jun-ho had way too many questions but no time to go through them right now.
"Just us," Gi-hun confirmed.
Jun-ho helped all of you to get up into the boat, especially Jun-hee since she still had trouble with her leg.
"Alright, we should be –" Jun-ho stopped mid-sentence, glancing over Gi-hun's shoulder. His face fell, making everyone turn around to see what he had seen.
A woman dressed up in a pink suit, a rifle in her arms, was standing a few metres behind you. Everyone went into slight panic for a moment. She was clearly one of the guards, though not wearing a black mask anymore.
"Room for one more?" she asked.
It took a few seconds for Jun-ho to answer but he then nodded his head and motioned her to come to them. "Yeah, come on. We don't have much time left."
"What?" Gi-hun asked, needing a good explanation why the hell Jun-ho was willing to take a guard with them without another question. "Why are we taking her with us?"
"I'll explain everything to you later, but she's coming with us," Jun-ho ordered. She had helped Jun-ho earlier, proving that she was on their side, so it would be unfair of him to just leave her to die.
The boat took off, finally leaving the island behind you and heading further towards the sea. Just a few minutes later, you heard a loud explosion coming from the island – the entire place was now completely destroyed.
The place where you had been trapped and fighting for your life for a week, was now turning into ash. The place where you had been only a moment ago was now gone forever.
The idea and thought of it all felt so surreal.
While you sat in the boat, everyone stayed silent for a long time, trying to process everything what had happened alone.
You eyed the guard suspiciously and decided to speak up, to break the thick silence. "Why are you here?"
"I did you a favor, might as well give me a ride back home," she replied, daring to give you a smile.
"Wait, you shot all those other players?" Jun-hee asked, now straightening her back and joining the conversation. "Why?"
"Had to get the game over a little faster." She nodded towards the island which was now in flames.
"But why help us?" you asked, furrowing your eyebrows. "You could have just left us there and escape on your own."
She went silent for a moment, and you were dying to know what was going on in her head. This was the first moment when you could speak freely to one of the guards without a danger of getting shot in the head.
"Because i don't think the four of you deserve to die," she replied, and you could tell that it was the only answer you would get from her.
So, some of the guards still had a heart that cared about a human life. Or at least one of them.
"What's your name?" Jun-hee asked.
"No-eul," she replied, realizing how much time had passed since the last time she or someone else had said her name out loud. Here she had been known only as 011. She then glanced at the baby Jun-hee was holding, a warm smile spreading on her face. "She's beautiful. Does she have a name yet?"
"No, i haven't really had the time to think about it yet."
After that, all of you sat in silence for a moment, the games speedrunning inside your heads. How the past week had changed all of you. Not only financially but even more mentally. How many people you had watched die right in front of you – some of them strangers that had become your friends. You felt like you had gone through a long war but it was only one week.
"Y/N," Jun-hee whispered, her baby fully asleep in her arms. "What do you plan to do now?"
"Well, i don't know, really."
"I'd like to have you in my life, if that's okay with you," Jun-hee suggested, careful and nervous with her words how you would react. You had lived together in this small bubble, away from the life you knew. You and Jun-hee lived completely separate lives – would there be room for Jun-hee in the future? "I'm not asking you to become a stepmom for her but maybe, if you'd like, her godmother?"
"Really?" you gasped, excited of the thought. "You mean that?"
"Yeah, i'd like that very much," Jun-hee smiled.
"Well, i'd like that too. Very much," you agreed.
God, how much you wanted to kiss her right now. Was this the right moment? Would she even want to? You still remembered the kiss she had given you after the jump rope, the memory alone summoning butterflies into your stomach.
Jun-hee leaned against your shoulder as the waves moved the boat side to side, making you feel tired as well.
Gi-hun was chatting with Jun-ho about something, while No-eul was leaning her head against the wall, deep in her thoughts. Having looked at Jun-hee with her child, No-eul couldn't help but feel a sting in her heart, missing her own daughter as well. She'd find her some day – she'd have to.
"Y/N," Jun-hee mumbled quietly.
"Yeah?"
"I'm really glad i met you," Jun-hee admitted, now looking into your eyes.
"I'm glad i met you too," you replied and smiled.
"Can i kiss you?" she asked, making your heart skip a beat. You didn't even have to answer with words, she got the permission from the mere look on your face. Smile on both of your faces, Jun-hee softly pressed her lips on yours.
For the rest of the trip on the boat, Jun-hee rested her head on your shoulder and fell asleep. Having a dream about you which she hoped would come true some day.
