Lehunter- The introduction
Rodolphe Lestrange sat in his favourite chair on the main lounge, reading a large time that was disproportionately matched to his tiny 5 year old body. He really did dislike his governess, no matter what praise his parents had given her on his progress.
He heard a commotion coming from the large lobbu that was left for entertaining new “friends” his father decided to bring over. He sighed as he remembered his father had mentioned he had come from the Caribbean with new contacts.
His thoughta were disturbed by a noise at the door.
Tuli Hunter a little witch in a new country having to be the perfect young daughter, following three steps behind her parents in a a very prim and proper dark green dress. Her mixture of light and dark brown curls pulled back in two pleats, could contain all of the curls as some fell around her face framing her hazel green eyes.
As her parents had stopped their strides with their friend and she was told to join their son in the main lounge and was gestured to the door.
With a small huff, she walked to the door and opened the door slowly.
Rising from his seat, he dusted the invisible lint from his casual clothes and stood with his back ramrod straight before walking towards the slowly opening door. He’d be fanned if his guest complained to their parents about his manners. He’d get a hiding from his mother.
His eyebrows shot into his growing hairline. He wasn’t used to witches in short dresses. Even when he travelled to France to meet his extended family, they had dressed to the traditional standard of long and heavy petticoats dresses. This witch would be refreshing.
Sweeping before her, he gracefully took her hand and bowed over it, kissing her knuckles. “Pleased to meet you, Miss… “ he trailed off before introducing himself. “Lestrange, Rodolphus Lestrange”.
She turned around after she closed the door to look at him, confused by his confusion. Unsure what he was so surprised about she pressed her hands against her dress trying to fix out any wrinkles.
Her gaze came back up as he moved smoothly to her now she was the surprised one as he took her hand and kissed. It faltered her response to his bow, slowly she responded with a curtsy tucking her head into her chest as she bowed her head.
“Hunter, Tuli Hunter”
“As to you, Mister Lestrange”
He viewed her through his thick brown eyelashes and smiled for a moment before laughing like the child he was.
Did mother tell you of the large maze hedge we have out back?” He said joyously, as he dragged her along before realising he hadn’t actually asked her if she wanted to come “… that is if you’d like to see it.”
Bewilderment went across her face as he started to move the two of them to the maze. “It sounds fun…?” she asked, her voice showing she wasn’t one hundred percent.
She nodded to encourage him to keep going, her eyes searching the manor as they moved.
He smiled brightly at her and continued taking her towards the back garden. He paused as he passed inquisiteur minor portraits of ancestors long since passed that were in the lower hallway.
“Tut tut” said one.
“Not a true gentleman.” Another said, and he glared at it. He never really liked his English side of the family.
He was about to continue before something stopped him.
Tuli had paused in her strides to stare at a portrait that had spoken to her. It took her a long time to process the words it had said. It was words she was told never to speak.
“A mulatto! In this household” it spat at her.
She tear welled up on the corner of her eyes, a soft stutter came from her.
Hi vaguely understood the words that his ancestor had uttered but couldn’t understand the undertones. He could feel her hand slipping from his grip.
He turned around to question her, until his question died on his lips when he saw her tears. He felt anger and confusion rise within him. “What was that word?” He whispered under his breath as the air around them crackled.
Moments later he saw a bright light and heard his ancestor screaming in shock. He looked around shocked as one of his father’s great aunties smiled down at him. “What he said is rubbish, you are clearly a true Lestrange who treats ladies with respect”
Tuli sniffled, wiping her tears with her wrists. Her eyes wouldn’t meet Rodolphus’ eyes as she knew crying was a weakness.
She barely listened to the auntie that was speaking, she was already prepared to run and seek the comfort of her mother’s lap.
He preened under the praise until he heard severeal footsteps varying in haste and heaviness. He assumed that something had alerted his parents and their guests. He’d be in for it now, he recognised.
“Father,” he reasoned, as his father walked quickly with grace born of many years of practise. He was quickly followed by his wife who wore a look of pride on her face. “Great Uncle, said… uh, I’m actually not sure what it means. And then the wind shifted and a bright light filled the room.”
He recounted quickly, almost tripping over his own words. He really didn’t want to incur his father’s wrath. He waited to feel a stern hand gripping behind his neck roughly, but only felt nothing.
As her parents came she ran to them clutching her mom's leg while rubbing her face into her mother's dress, with soft whimpers coming from her.
She peaked a eye out to watch Rod stumble over his words as his parents walked to him.

tulihunter:
The witch took to the warm weather like it was nothing, enjoying most aspects of their new life or at least trying to make the best of things. She had finally convinced Dimitrius to come out to the water with her, enjoy the village that they had hid in. She also wanted to see him smile and forget about all their troubles for a while.
@incendioexcrucio
It was nearly impossible for him to relax, even here, months later in this beautiful place when there hadn’t been so much as a whisper of the Death Eaters or Voldemort giving them cause to constantly look behind their backs and to the shadows for danger; and yet that was what they were supposed to be doing, was it? Wasn’t that the reason he had moved them halfway around the world and brought a death sentence upon them? So the could be free, so they could relax.
The woman in front of him, his woman, that fearless, magnificent witch splashing in the knee deep water, she never ceased to amaze him. Tuli was like a force of nature and she always seemed to impose herself upon him whether she was a thunderstorm tearing the world down around her or a cool breeze brushing through his hair as he drifted off to sleep. He could hardly manage to say no to her fully clothed let alone standing there in her bikini.
With one last glance around to make sure there were no dark hooded figures creeping into their world he jogged into the water chuckling at the audacity of Tuli. @tulihunter
The vibrant witch peaked over her shoulder to watch him, watch his internal debate. Quickly, glancing away she made herself look at the tropical water she stood in and take the moment to enjoy it.
Her body swayed with the water, wave after wave put the witch into a trance. Lost in the moment, thoughts of her family passed by.
They were safe, safe from his Master and safe from his followers.
Tuli's thoughts became interrupted with the noise of water being wadded through. She turned herself around taking in her handsome wizard, coming towards her.
"Finally!" She exclaimed.
With that she swung her hands into the water to splash him.

Look how they shine for you
“I..I don’t know… it seems like I may have a few months….” Her voice trailed off in thought. She turned around to look at him, the poor witch covered in grime. Not even sadness seem to grace her face she just looked neutral like she wasn’t a hundred percent there.
“I shouldn’t stay long, I’ll just make it worse for you” she mumbled, her hand lifting up to run through her dark hair. “I’ll leave in the morning…. so she can not….. get her..” she slowly slumped on the ground in front of him. Her face buried into her knees. She let go of holding her form and slowly morphed to her natural one.
( @incendioexcrucio )
Her vulnerability caught him off guard. He wasn’t used to her letting him in. Her visits were scattered, few and far between and rarely lasted more than a day or so. In the few precious hours they did get to spend together more was often said in much less. Silences were thick, words left unsaid, hanging in the air dancing around them as their daughter happily remained oblivious.
He reached out a tentative hand to rest on her shoulder not wishing to disturb her and almost half afraid she would realize he was there and would once again withdraw into herself.
“Tules….” he almost whispered, kneeling down to her level. “You know you don’t have to leave….I mean for our sake.” he clarified, because of course it wasn’t a choice for either of them and he couldn’t imagine the extent to which she must hate that when he knew how much he hated it himself.
“What do you need?” he pleaded feeling powerless to say or do anything to comfort her.
@tulihunter @sleepybabeee
Her shoulder shifted as he touched his hand down, she was even unsure herself. It was rare for her to let go of this form she held when she was around…. around others.
It was the only way she could invoke fear in wizards and witches. But the witch herself was break down inside. Losing herself to the constant abuse, the madness…. This home was like a small lantern in place that had no light, no light in her eyes, her soft hazel eyes.
Her head rest on one knee as she stared down at the stained tan boots on her feet, the intricately carved knife poked out of the top of one boot. Memories flashed before her eyes she looking at the knife, all the blood she spilled on those stained boots. A tear ran down her face yet she couldn’t even move to wipe it away. “I don’t even know” she spoke, feeling powerless herself. ( @kylosmom @incendioexcrucio)
