She sighed upon hearing his words, putting the clothes back where she had taken them from. Evie shrugged her shoulders, one hand still holding on to the fabric of one of the dresses, gently stroking it. She kept her eyes on it, not wanting to face whatever the rest of the world had in store for her. “Trust me, going home is the last thing I want”, a gentle shaking of her head before she mustered up a smile and finally turned towards him, “But I do plan on staying in this town for a while. And I think I at least owe them to… you know, tell them myself? Before I run into my mom at the grocery store and she makes a very ugly scene.” Her parents did not deserve dinner, not if Evie was concerned, but her brothers very well did. “As I said, haven’t been in Holloway for ten years. I do not even know if the places for dinner here are still good. And maybe a quiet thing behind closed doors is a better option.” She shook her head again. “Sorry, I shouldn’t dump all this on a stranger. I am Evie though, thanks for listening”, she put out her hand for him to shake.
Orion chuckled. “Now that would’ve been drama I would’ve liked to pay for,” he said with a grin, but he shook his head right after. “Alright, still, small boquette of flowers like that... under the average, shouldn’t be doing that,” he suggested. “Some booze could work?” Alcohol always made a reunion much lighter. “To avoid the drama?” he asked. Certainly he had no idea what the situation between her and her family was, but if her mom wanted to make a scene in the grocery store... well, that should say enough. “Ah, no worries, love me some good drama.” He accepted the hand. “Orion,” he said, refraining from any more detail aside from his nickname.
