Root does not waste time
#i loved this honestly#i loved everything about Root in this and i’ve seen some people saying Root comes across as a little (or a lot) OOC and yes?#that’s sort of the point? This is a Root who lives in Shaw’s head#this is the Root that Shaw feels is her safe place and we’ve seen Shaw has agency in this simulation that’s very explicit#which means that Root being DTF right after Shaw had surgery? is *Shaw* wanting that#Shaw wants Root to want her#Shaw *believes* that Root wants her just like Shaw *believes* that Root accepts all of her and wants them to be together#(which again we the audience know is true)#Shaw wants Root to still wait for her explicit consent (and omg how much do I love that the writers didn’t take a single lazy shortcut??)#but in Shaw’s head Root is fucking t h i r s t y (we the audience know this is very true although I agree with people saying that#actual Root would probably be like ‘hey lets wait till you’re not bleeding but then again Root isn’t known for impulse control so….)#but also…Root is canonically a little shit. And this episode proves that Shaw considers that part of Root being ‘safe’#so its not just that Root loves and accepts all of Shaw its that Shaw values and likes all of Root and i don’t know where im going with this#anymore but anyway there are a ton of layers to unpack because even though this was real for us the audience it was both real and not#for the characters because it was a simulation but it was a simulation guided and influenced and built by Shaw’s own feelings & perceptions#and a;ddlkjfa;lfjsd i just have a lot of feelings okay im sorry they’re just so perfect together and on some level Shaw truly believes that (via @racethewind10)
