Osiris smiled at Cinder’s suggestion, his large hand stroking gently over her cheek as he leaned down to kiss her. “You are absolutely correct my priestess.” He said before moving away a bit.
Standing in the middle of the square, Osiris raised his hands out, his body growing in size as a boulder rose from the street, raising him above the crowd.
“My people!” His voice rang out. “I have come to announce the temple has been renewed! By the good graces of my high priestess, Cinder, you may now come to worship and be healed of sores and illness at her hands.” He announced. With a slight wave of his hand, Cinder was lifted to stand on the Boulder before him, his large hands resting lightly on her shoulders as he presented her to the townsfolk.
Cinder watched proudly as he addressed the crowd, holding her friends hand as they listened. The crowd was certainly awed, some looking happy and celebratory while others looked fearful. When he spoke of her, however, blush rose in her cheeks, her eyes cast down bashfully until she was suddenly floating up onto the boulder. She gave a small shout of surprise before landing gently atop the rock. When his hand found her shoulder, she smiled again, though her blush hardly faded. A bit awkwardly, she waved to the people below, then looked to him, a bit concerned.
“Thank you for the kind words, my lord, but… I-I don’t feel right being put on such a pedestal like this. It is you that deserves the praise.” smiling softly, she pressed a kiss to his hand and then carefully made her way down from the rock to face the people of the town.
“The temple is open to all, no matter who you are or where you come from. We will welcome you with open arms, for however long you wish to stay. This change is not something to fear, but to celebrate. Will any of you come with us?” she asked with a hopeful smile.
there was a pause among the crowd, before Jem came over to stand by Cinder, smiling.
“I can’t stay forever, but a day or two won’t hurt. I’d like to see this so called restored temple you’ve been staying at.” Jem said, taking her friend’s hand. Once she had stepped up, several other men, women and children did as well, all of them curious to see how the temple had changed.
