Honestly, when I watched Utsukushii Kare the first time, I didn't like it. In fact, I was a bit ashamed to have watched it. My first BL watch was Cherry Magic, followed by Kieta Hatsukoi, then UtsuKare. After that, I didn't watch BL again.
Recently however, I came across Old Fashion Cupcake and Taikan Yoho. The former was cute but the latter is a bit on the toxic side like UtsuKare. Because of that, I watched it again and found out that it had a movie so I watched Eternal too. I dunno what changed but I like it now. I'm probably obsessed even. The aesthetics, the soundtrack, the character consistency,... I came to appreciate it more. I kept listening to the soundtrack and tried to absorb their lyrics as much as I can. It's like I'm Hira and I found something pretty (though not as extreme)...
Maybe it's the work of time but I'm glad I watched it again and finally saw its beauty and strength as a drama. I'm confident to say that I liked all five of the BL dramas I've watched.
The way I thought Hira's love is attractive and how possessive looked good on Segasawa is something for the future me to contemplate about. (Or ignore because love is not real, and so is fiction😇)
If I am to arrange the J-BL I've watched based on intensity, it'd be like this:
KH - CM - OFC - UK - TY
OFC is in the middle. Maybe that's what I prefer the most? Tho I also really like KH, TY and the two in between. I guess it's pointless to determine my preference when I like them all.
