My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 dir. Yuka Yasukawa (March 28th, 2025)
VIVANT S2 WILL BE BACK AS A 2-COUR SEASON THIS JULY!!
(yes sometimes I talk about jdrama. sometimes)
Oh my god.
Two cours.
Two.
Honestly wasn't expecting this at all. This is so rare for j-drama I think? Even sequels? That means 6 months of craziness. Yay!
Also co-director Miyazaki Yohei explained the above PV is shot separate from the main series and is about a high schooler and how "What-if" the current peace in the country was all thanks to the special unit, Beppan. (I guess instead of PubSec) Looks like it'll be a series of PVs commemorating the sequel? The theme of this one is Trust.
Anyway--I hope we'll get a bunch of posters too. Masato Sakai as Nogi/F looks so cool here, but I can't wait to see Abe Hiroshi as Nozaki again (need to see the smile again haha)
I never thought I'd come across a J-drama show that is pro-life. In Where Does the Sea Begin, Natsu's gf had made him sign the consent form for abortion. At first he told her he wanted her to really think about it if she wanted this but she said her mind is set so she made him sign it saying the typical "it's my body my choice" response and his tears was just flowing as he signed the paper. She later broke up with him out of the blue. And for a long time he blamed himself for killing his own child so when he found out that his ex-gf had lied about going thru abortion and raised their daughter by herself, he felt relieved that his daughter alive. His current gf even tried to comfort him that it wasn't his fault but he insisted that he really thought he killed her even though he was forced to signed the papers. (Turns out the reason his ex-gf lied about going thru the abortion and breaking up with him is because she didn't want to force the responsibility of fatherhood on him).
HIs current gf unfortunately had an abortion in the past with another man. Her story is sadder because when she told her bf at that time that she's pregnant, he just assumed that she was going to get an abortion and only offered to pay for it. They didn't even discuss it. She even told her mom about being pregnant and asked what if she wants to raise the child herself and her mom just told her not to expect help from her. So she went through the abortion. Her bf didn't even accompany her to the clinic. Later on she's crying on the bathroom mourning her empty belly. And secretly she's been doing regular funeral rituals for her aborted child. When she finally told her current bf Natsu that she had an abortion in the past, she didn't even mince words about it; she literally told him that she had killed someone before. Her current bf tried to comfort her saying that she only did what she thought was the best for her child at that time, she replied "And that's exactly where the guilt festers,..."
Their lives went on two different directions but they both regarded their unborn children as an actual human being, not just a choice to have.
