☁☁☁ — [ft. abelardrichter]
Somehow, he’s fallen asleep sitting up. On a stool. The unruly-haired orphan’s currently running on an hour of sleep and it couldn’t be more obvious. Be it the dark circles lining his eyes, the sickly hue of his normally sun-kissed skin—whatever. It’s not a good look (though it’s not far off from the usual) (he’s dying). And of course he doesn’t notice the ding of the bell strung above the door. Doesn’t notice the presence of a customer. The day’s been incredibly slow at the restaurant and in his dreams, the usually menacing sound of the bell is lost amidst the lulling, half-hearted tinkering of wind chimes. He’s in a field somewhere. It’s—back in Canada. Definitely. Oh, suddenly it’s not a field. It’s a forest and it’s completely breathtaking. His favourite colour’s green and there’s so much of it. There’s a girl with him, too, and he’s holding onto the flow of her skirt in a loose, calloused grasp. He’s following her wherever she’ll take him like a pitiful little dog. Her face isn’t quite in focus, but it’s seemingly average. That’s the type of women he usually attracts. Not that he minds, though. He likes average. He’s average (he thinks). She’s laughing about something, girlish giggles drifting from peach lips in reverie. What do you know—he’s laughing too. It’s almost magical how—in slow motion—the plethora of brown locks are being so effortlessly carried in the loving embrace of the wind and maybe she’s floating. She is. They both are. Until he starts to fall. The girl doesn’t seem to notice. He’s in the air somewhere. He’s definitely not at his restaurant.
She's a woman of routine and habit. The dainty blonde seldom changes her habits, nor her routines. She lives in peaceful monotony, very little details change--her days play out quite similarly time and time again, but each seems to bring her a new memory. One of her habits is her consumption of pizza or Thai food. She never tires of those, they are her favorites. She orders from the same pizzeria, and the same Thai restaurant. She is consistent to the point where she has befriended the employees of the respective establishments. They know who the willowy blonde is, they can count on her to return or her sending her boyfriend in her place. However, she decides in a moment of haze and rushing adrenaline that she wants food from elsewhere. She wants to try something new, get out of her comfort zone as childish as it seems--trying new restaurants shouldn't be a source of discomfort. It is for her. She finds herself searching through blurry grey buildings for something that appeals to her, nothing does--they all look the same. She regrets her choice, wishing she was in her regular Thai restaurant. It's then that she finds a quaint, diner-themed restaurant tucked neatly and snugly among buildings and it catches her eye at the very last minute. What chance. She breathes out a relieved sigh as her light frame carries itself towards the establishment without a second thought, pale stands of her hair flowing behind her once she rushes. She's hungry, she wants to eat and go home. Frankly, she's cold too but she can't do much about that--her blood pressure tends to keep her chilly, even when the weather is far from. She notices there is a boy there--man, she corrects herself. He has a boyish look to him with messy hair and pallid skin, he looks exhausted, but his broad shoulders tell her he is a man. Is he asleep? She clears her throat, attempting to capture his attention.

It was one thing to be in a world he had grown unaccustomed to. It was one thing to be absolutely alone, but it was another thing to be without his fairy. He had grown so used to having Tinkerbell by his side that even in his moments of solitude she crossed his mind multiple times. That’s what happened when you befriend a fairy; they never leave your side especially when you befriend one with an attitude problem. He was growing irritable as the days passed and without her useless comments, he had nothing to humour him in his freetime. That was why Pan had acquired himself tickets to see a film, one that was said to be utterly hilarious, but it seemed as though life had other plans for him. Just as he turned away from the consession stand, he found himself walking straight into the rushing figure of a passerby.
Up went his popcorn and yet with a quick twirl of his finger it fell onto the ground straight up, not a single kernel out of place. Even so, he turned to glare at the figure. “Are you blind? Can you not watch where you’re going?” His next words were a grumble under his breath. “Even Tink wouldn’t be this daft.”
Five, six months. Her hours bled into days, days into months, but she hardly felt it--she swore she had moved to Seoul a little a week ago, it couldn't be months. She felt the California sun linger on her skin, she forgot to speak Korean from time to time or slipped in English words as if she were with her family back in Rancho Mirage. She had a select few friends, though she wasn't too fond of going out as she seemed to find herself lost time and time again. As fast as time had went by, it came to a screeching halt and hit her as hard as it could--left her knocked down on her ass, wondering.
Maple began to feel stuffy in her home, often wanting to go out and experience the city, the culture. She felt as if she had barely made progress in her journey to self-discovery and reinvention. The stuffiness and sudden realization were what carried her to the nearest cinema with a faraway look her eyes--detached, she was barely in Seoul as much as she was in her mind. Perhaps a movie would do her good, she decided. Refresh her. However, time wasn't the only thing that wanted to hit her today--she collided with a lanky frame, wincing.
"I'm sorry--" she started, but she bit her tongue abruptly upon the rude statements coming from the stranger. She placed her palm against her hip with an unimpressed glare, eyebrows raised and lips in a scowl as she eyed him down. "Excuse me?" She spit at him slowly, her expression remaining, "Did your mother not teach you how to speak to strangers? Much less, how to speak to women?"
Tch, who knows what I meant to say. You wouldn’t know especially since I wouldn’t know. She rolled her eyes at the younger female before reaching froward to flick at the other’s forehead with the lightest touch she could muster up. She knew once she did that, she would possibly get an insulting sentence directly towards something of hers or she would get the same pain inflicted onto her skin somewhere, somehow. Doesn’t matter now or later, she knew it might come. Unless you want to say that you're specimen is a vampire like those dumb movies, then possibly. But I gotta say, it is possible for someone— I mean as long as they’re okay with going out in public looking like something from the dead or somslyum, that’s alright then. She winked playfully before laughing. Rubbing the other’s back in a soothing manner.
She pursed her lips with a faraway, glassy look as if she was chewing through the reply she had gotten--thinking through, deciding. What if, what if, I have a special where I know... She started with a certain tone, but it dwindled down to timorous soon enough as her mind unearthed the flaws in her logic, Even if you don't know. She added that as if it would help her case, make her seem more sure of herself--it was a childish situation entirely, she had no real desire to win. She drew her head back and scrunched up her features at the flick against her forehead, a low whine fell from her pale lips. Maple moved her hand up briefly, balled into a little fist, before dropping it to her side with a pout.
A curt scoff cut her silence short after she listened intently to the older woman, a roll of her eyes following. Imagine if vampires were real, she mused aloud with a pensive look etching itself into her delicate features, the way they're portrayed must be keeping them in hiding. She snickered before snuggling up to Sooyeon, her blinks slow to match her breathing. Would I still be pretty if I looked like I was recently exhumed?

The welcoming I get though, I'm hurt darling. My heart has been broken.
Pick up the pieces and put 'em back together. How you wanna disappear and pop in, pretending you didn't leave little old me with a broken heart?
soonxkyu replied to your post: are you still dating that mark kid?
Hell yeah you are.
Maple.
Where the fuck you been, Alex?
are you still dating that mark kid?
Strong as ever. Why? Wassup?
I keep thinking of how much I love talking to you. How good you look when you smile. How much I love your laugh. I daydream about you off and on, replaying pieces of our conversations; laughing at funny things that you said or did. I’ve memorized your face and the way that you look at mine. I catch myself smiling again at what I imagine. I wonder what will happen the next time we are together and even though neither of us know what the future holds, I know one thing for sure; you’re the best thing that has ever happened to me.
