Like my work? Why not consider supporting me on Ko-Fi?
coming back from the dead (briefly) to announce that i posted a new fic!
it’s a AU kyle crane x oc and it’s based loosely on the game firewatch, and i’m very excited for it!
i’m gonna try and make it a little shorter than my other fics, as i feel like i flesh those out way too much that i easily lose interest and i don’t want that to keep happening

sorry for going mia for a while there, i really haven’t had the motivation to write much and when i do, it doesn’t last long enough to finish anything and idk, my mental strength is dwindling and i find it hard to string together sentences but i’m trying! i might look through my requests and see if any one-shot sparks my interest, but i just thought i’d check in and let y’all know i’m still here!
It was safe to say that their late night rendezvous in Storm’s apartment was anything but a one time thing. They’d both known that from the moment they’d… finished, but for the weeks following after it they’d brought themselves to truly believe that it would be.
And for a while, it was. Time passed and neither of them so much as texted each other, let alone crossed physical paths again.
That was, until Agent 14 made the conscious decision to sell Storm an old IAA bunker out in the deserted wilderness of Raton Canyon. He hadn’t intended to, at least, not in the However, when his boss told him to shut up shop for good and get rid of any evidence that could prove they had been there, something in the back of 14’s mind just told him to do the opposite.
It seemed like a waste, really, to get rid of it all. The equipment was hard to come by and still in excellent condition, and when he knew of a rather methodical criminal – one that he couldn’t stop thinking about no matter how hard he tried – that could likely make good use of their abandoned supplies and tragically fired employees, he couldn't seem to stop himself from pulling out his phone and dialling her number.
Storm had picked up his call in seconds, then arrived at the bunker in less than an hour. How? He still didn’t know, but in all honesty he didn’t really care either. Not when their ‘one time thing’ quickly doubled the very second they were alone together.
It hadn’t been 14’s prior intention to do so, but he’d ended up fucking her against the wall of her new personal quarters mere minutes after he’d showed her inside. Though, in his defense, she had come onto him strongly with her quick tongue and all round flirtatious nature.
Hell, she was like a damn mistress of seduction with the way she had trailed her hands over him. The way she’d worked him.
At first it was rather light and almost friendly. She’d graze his arm whenever she spoke or she’d brush up against him as they drove around the bunker; nothing major that he couldn’t handle with a quick mental reprimand. But then, as he Austin Powers-d the vehicle in a narrow corridor — as he’d made the idiotic mistake of trying to turn, rather than simply reversing when he missed their exit — she’d set her hand on his thigh and squeezed it. Tight.
He hadn’t meant to give in so quickly – if at all, even – but as you could probably guess… he did. He rolled over like an obedient little puppy and he did it rather shamelessly too, as all she had to do was raise her eyebrows and he was dragging her into the quarters and unbuckling his jeans.
There wasn’t even a hint of regret sitting with him afterwards, either. As with the tight tension Storm had held in her shoulders, not to mention the dried blood underneath her nails, it appeared as though she had desperately needed that special kind of stress relief. And well, what kind of gentleman would he be, exactly, if he refused to give it to her?
After all, she had, quite clearly, gone to him with the fullest intention of getting what she wanted. And he was flattered, honestly. He never usually had women seeking him out for a second go of it, therefore when Storm so much as hinted towards wanting him again… 14 knew there was no chance in hell he could ever resist it.
And from that point on, things only seemed to escalate even further.
It was hard for it not to, if they were being honest. They worked together now, in a much more formal and intimate capacity than before, meaning there were now plenty of ample opportunities for them to… connect. And sure, 14 may have issued his instructions from the safety of his desk whilst Storm was miles away, and followed them without question, but there was still a strong tension in the air around them that was so desperate to be broken.
And boy, how they had broken it… repeatedly .
For weeks now, they had driven each other to the highest peak of pleasure that was humanly possible, and as time carried on; the raging fire between them didn’t seem like it would be dying out any time soon. And truth be told, they didn’t want it to. Storm, especially, didn’t want it to simmer as, no matter how many alarm bells blared loudly in every corner of her mind, there was just something about having Agent 14 both in her ear and in her bed that made her tingle.
Even now, as she sat on the aforementioned bed — three months later — with her knee bent and the sheets barely covering her still naked body, she couldn’t taste any hint of wanting to give it all up entirely. If anything, she wanted to do the exact opposite and lock it down for good.
In a situationship sense, that is. She wasn’t exactly built for serious, romantic, relationships given her hectic life of crime, and even if she was, 14 probably wouldn’t be the best choice for her given their complicated partnership and shared criminal history.
Although, now that she was thinking about it… maybe he would be, actually. He knew who she was, what she did and what she was capable of. And okay, sure, he didn’t know her real name and she was harbouring his, but the two of them did seem to share an unspoken, yet deeply rooted, connection to one another.
Or at least, Storm did. She didn’t know if 14 felt it too but she figured he might, given how he often looked at her: with eyes full of affection, even during times when he wasn’t 6 inches deep inside of her. He had to feel something for her, even if it was only faint and minute. However, no matter how often that nagging question nipped at her, she didn’t dare bring it up in the brief spats of conversation they had between rounds and in the mornings after.
Nor did she even bring herself to think about it, either, as she didn’t like to. It was weird when she did. Unsettling . She got this unfamiliar warmth in her chest, and her stomach felt all icky and swirly anytime she thought about him… And not just in the sense of what he was like in the bedroom, but just him in general.
14… Her Agent. He called himself that sometimes without even realising but she never said anything. She just smiled and let him carry on with being the big lovable idiot she’d discovered him to be.
After that, though, things seemed to change in the gears of her mind again. Any time his handsome face or that cocky, arrogant, smile of his popped into her head she didn’t think about pinning him down and riding him until she had him whimpering. No, she thought about nothing more than what he said. She even thought about grazing his cheeks… About kissing him softly and hearing him murmur it against his lips… But most of all, she thought about truly calling him hers more often than once.
Other times, however, when she was trying so hard to look for a reason not to think about him like that, she’d try to picture him with another woman. But, that only seemed to backfire as the only thing it did was make her angry. And if ever there was ever an understatement, it would be that , as with the way the rage bubbled in her veins the first time she thought about him having another woman in his bed, you’d have thought the two of them were married.
Hmm. That was a little… odd, now that she was really thinking about it.
Storm didn’t get possessive over things, let alone people, and she really couldn’t care less if any of the men she was ‘involved’ with were also seeing other women on the side. She knew well that she was often the side-piece, booty-call to a lot of men — less now than before, as she hadn’t seen any of them since that first night with her Agent — but when it came to 14… it made her feel slightly homicidal to think that she was just another notch on his belt.
But anyway, all that aside… Storm was totally fine with the way things were now. It was clean and concise. They both knew where they stood with each other and could walk away freely any time they liked, but deep down… even just the thought of parting from him for good made her terribly nauseous. But she tried her hardest not to think about that, at least not now. 14 was still here and she didn’t want to accidentally let any of her inner feelings slip through the cracks he’d helped open up — as that was most likely a sure fire way for her to lose him for good.
Instead, she simply laid back against her pillow and relished in the few moments of post-sex bliss that she currently had left in her. She could hear 14 now, in the shower. He always left the door open a crack, as a wordless invite for her to join him, and even though she never did — as to her, that was pushing things a little — she was still more than happy to sink under the covers and bask in the dulcet tones of his voice.
He was only humming, to the rhythm of an old pop song with a familiar beat… Gaga? Britney? Rihanna? Storm didn’t really know who that song belonged to, but it was still more than enough to spark that small fuse of warmth deep in her chest. The one she often needed now, just to get through the day.
Storm never would have seen it coming, but things in her life were honestly starting to feel rather strained and all round repetitive.
In the beginning, it was fun. Heists. Guns. Drugs. Cars… You name it and she had procured it, sold it, and used it to buy herself nice things, but there were only so many days she could spend stealing supplies from other criminals or setting up heists with mere pocket change as a reward, before it became tedious.
Not to mention having to constantly make sure Tony hadn’t crumbled from the pressure of their nightclub and sold her out to the feds. He freaked out every day of the week over what they had hidden away in their basement and she was genuinely surprised that he was even still alive.
But anyway, Tony’s theatrics aside, Storm’s life was still a little draining at times, therefore, these brief moments of bliss that she had with Agent 14 had become somewhat of a safe haven to her. Something she would very much like to keep as if she had to return to what life was like beforehand… then she honestly didn’t know what she might end up doing.
“God, I will never stop being jealous of your water pressure.”
14’s sudden voice made her jump beneath the flushed tones of her skin. Jesus. Storm had been so deep in the darkness of her mind that she hadn’t heard the shower turn off or the bathroom door creak open wider. A rookie mistake . For fuck sake, she was a professional… she shouldn’t be letting her guard down that easily, even if she was within the walls of her own home.
Nevertheless, she didn’t allow herself to dwell on that for longer than the brief second it took for 14 to finally enter her eye-line, where she let her gaze lock firmly onto him like the missile of a jet. His hair was dripping wet, his shoulders were still covered in shimmering water droplets and he had a fluffy white towel wrapped around his waist.
Barely .
The bloody thing was hanging on by a thread and if he hadn’t had one hand holding it in place, he’d have flashed her. Not that she would have minded, of course. She was already picturing exactly what he had hidden underneath it and in all honesty, it made her want to reach out and pull the towel away from him entirely.
But, luckily for her — (sort of), she managed to compose herself long enough for him to climb into his boxers and make for his jeans. He’d be leaving soon. He always did. He never stayed long enough for breakfast or even a sip of coffee, and she really needed to remember that.
Turning on her side, and purposely allowing one leg to slip free from the cover of the sheets, Storm watched happily, and shamelessly, as 14 carried on getting dressed. It took him longer than it would have, had been at home. He had to gather the remainder of his clothes from different parts of the bedroom and as he travelled around the small, rather empty, space his eyes would constantly drift in her direction — so much so that he completely missed the clear sight of his t-shirt that was draped messily over a small ornate statue that sat on the chest of drawers.
God… she really was beautiful, and it was a damn shame that he had to go.
“You know…” Storm began, shuffling around a little as 14 reached for his belt that currently hung from the lamp. Damn . He knew she’d been eager… but he didn’t know she’d thrown the bloody thing halfway across the room. “There’s a deli just down the road that does amazing breakfast bagels… If you want, I could throw on some clothes and we could go grab one?”
It was less of a suggestion and more of a deeply rooted hope — connected to an organ she didn’t often listen to — to keep him with her for even a few minutes longer.
14 let out a soft, disappointment-causing, sigh as he looped his belt around his waist and began to buckle it. “I would love to… Truly, I would, but if I want to make this meeting, I really have to get going.”
“Without breakfast?” Storm sat up on her elbows, eyeing him playfully. “Now there’s a great way to start your day.”
14 chuckled, throwing his shirt over his head — once he found it. “The agency supplies us with plenty of complimentary donuts that make for a great breakfast.”
“Donuts? That’s healthy,” Storm murmured humorously, pretending like her breakfast most days wasn’t an energy drink, leftover takeout food and spats of unnecessary violence.
“Listen, if you ask me, I’ve already had my breakfast.” 14 said, slipping his arms into his favourite jacket as he slowly rounded the bed towards her favoured side.
Storm followed his movements with a furrowed brow, until she came face to face with him. He hovered over her, one hand dipping into the pillow beside her head and the other landing roughly on her thigh. Still a little sticky from earlier, he thought to himself. Just the way he liked it. He dipped his fingertips deep into her flesh and leaned into her, his tongue slipping perfectly into her mouth and causing a surprised hum to travel up her throat as she quickly came to understand the meaning behind his words.
“Well in that case…” Reaching up, Storm curled her fingers around the opening of his jacket and pulled him even closer, his hand being the only thing stopping him from collapsing atop her entirely. She gazed up and into the shine of his eyes as she dragged her bottom lip between her teeth, before kissing him again. “Feel free to help yourself to seconds.”
Fucking hell, 14 might have groaned into her mouth had he had any oxygen left in his lungs. Instead, he just swore verbally under his breath and closed his eyes, as had they drifted down to where the sheet had fallen from that ethereal body of hers… he’d have rolled right over and dove in.
“As truly tempting as that sounds…” His eyes opened as he paused, locking onto hers almost apologetically. “I really do have to go. Unless… Unless that’s gonna make you pissed at me, or whatever, cause I really don’t need anyone else trying to kill me.”
14 didn’t know why the fuck he said any of that, but what he did know was that he regretted it the very second it left his big mouth. Even more so given Storm’s incredibly unreadable reaction towards it… and the sudden realisation he’d just had that it made her sound a little psychotically trigger happy.
Still showing no emotion, Storm reached up one hand to briefly fix his hair. It smelled strongly of her shampoo: apple. She smiled a little, “Would it worry you if I was pissed at you?”
She wasn’t quite sure what answer she wanted to hear from him.
“Under normal circumstances, no.” 14 swallowed thickly as there was nothing normal about any of this — despite how badly he might have wanted there to be. “ But…” He cleared his throat, “under the circumstances of there being a rifle currently leaning up against your bedside table, then yes. Absolutely it does.”
Storm let out a gentle laugh that helped put him at ease, as did her fingers which still resided within the damp strands of his hair. She drew her hand down and grazed the side of his face, “Relax. It would take a hell of a lot more than you turning me down to get me to shoot you.”
Like you cutting me off entirely , she added mentally. And so help this city if he ever did.
“Turning you down? Oh, baby… “14 huffed a laugh and shook his head. He lifted the hand that was on her pillow and cupped the side of her face, drawing his thumb down the length of her cheek. “I’m not turning you down. I'm simply rescheduling, say for… tonight?”
Storm’s brows perked up. “Yeah? What do you have in mind?”
“Oh, I don’t know…” 14 said, playing coy. “Maybe dinner… Drinks…” His voice drew out a little as the hand on her thigh moved up, caressing the smoothness of her waist and coming to land on her breast. He gave it a gentle squeeze. “Dessert?”
Tilting her head, Storm narrowed her eyes a touch. “Out of everything I have to offer you… you want my boobs?”
“They’re pretty good boobs.” He replied, and Storm couldn’t help but agree. She really did have nice boobs, if she said so herself, and she should have known that he was a boob guy when he spent ten minutes last night focusing solely on them.
“Then by all means you can have them.” She said, leaning up to kiss him hungrily which only increased the pressure that he had on her. “ Now… if you skip your meeting.”
There was a brief flash of acceptance on 14’s face, before he suddenly shook his head and pulled away from her entirely. “Nope. No. I, uh… I can’t do that.” He adjusted his jacket, playing minutely smug. “It’s a case of national security.”
“That’s a shame.” Storm exhaled, sinking back into the fluffy pillows behind her and purposely keeping her chest uncovered. She traced her finger lightly around her nipple, “I was gonna let you fu…”
“Don’t.” 14 cut her off instantly and she rolled her lips, hiding her obvious amusement over the immediate way he had to adjust himself. Jesus. He was almost so painfully hard that he might have needed a second shower, this time ice cold. Another breath slipped past his lips as he warned her, “For the love of God, don’t say anything else. And will you please … stop touching yourself like that.”
Batting her lashes innocently, Storm removed her hand from her chest and used it to mimic zipping her lips, making him roll his eyes a little. She had quite a flair for the dramatic, that much he was beginning to see. And fall for. He was also beginning to realise, in that moment where he really struggled with leaving her — and not just because of what she had on display — exactly how tight and secure she had him wrapped around her finger.
Hell, all of them.
Storm had him firmly in the palm of her entire hand and had he not been so subconsciously head over heels for her, he might have been concerned about it.
“I will see you tonight .” 14 said with emphasis, which was a rather pleasant change from the usual ‘see you when I see you’ he often gave her after their dirty little rendezvous.
Like they both didn’t know they’d be seeing each other again the very next day.
“I look forward to it.” Storm said genuinely, softly , making him smile in a way she’d never actually seen before as he closed the gap between them again. He took her face in his hands and kissed her tenderly. “I’ll even cook you dinner, just to prove it.”
“You can cook?” 14 questioned, and he meant it to sound completely genuine but as it left his lips it sounded nothing if not sarcastic. He cleared his throat nervously, “That didn’t come out right.”
“Hmm.” Storm eyed him sceptically, yet she let it slide. She gave him one last, lingering kiss before she shoved him away — gently . “Go to work.”
“Yes ma’am.” 14 breathed out, barely avoiding the pillow she aimed in his direction as he slipped out of the room with a muffled laugh.
Fucker. He knew she had a deep hatred for being called ma’am.
Anyway, the minute she heard the faint echo of the front door clicking shut, Storm fell right back into her once peaceful slumber. She didn’t often lie in, not when she had about a thousand and one other things to do, but 14 had woken her up at the very crack of dawn this morning.
Not that she was complaining, of course, as the man was most definitely a morning person and it showed in his performance, but after the rather late night they’d had last night… and the day before… and the day before that… her energy levels were running severely empty, therefore in her mind, a lie-in was completely justified.
Storm resurfaced at around 10.30am. She didn’t want to. She was still tired and she was incredibly cosy beneath the warmth of her duvet, but no matter how much it pained her, she knew she had to. Business wouldn’t exactly run itself and in this case, where it was her nightclub’s day to have her undivided attention, it most definitely wouldn’t run with just Tony involved. He didn’t like to touch anything bar the liquor deliveries, hiring the DJ’s or securing their VIP’s, which meant the rest of it was left solely up to her.
Nuzzling her face against the pillow in protest, and to inhale the lingering scent of 14 that still resided there, Storm let out an eye-watering yawn and gave in. She rolled over to check her phone and in her still sleepy haze, she thought she saw an unopened image from 14 amongst her notifications. She sat up a little and rubbed her eyes, clearing her vision.
Turns out, there really was an unopened image from 14 just sitting there in her inbox. She smiled, almost giddily like a schoolgirl with a crush, and opened it. Nothing unsafe for work — shame . Just a rather cute selfie of himself with a chocolate covered donut tucked between his lips. He had also sent it alongside the caption of ‘breakfast’ . But then, just a minute later, he’d sent another message in order to correct himself.
‘ *Second breakfast. ’ Classy .
Chuckling softly, Storm absently saved the photo to an album of its own whilst opting not to respond. He’d sent it almost 2 hours ago, so she really didn’t see any point in doing so.
Other than the picture, that had easily made her day already, there was nothing else of importance sitting in any of her inboxes. Just a text message from Lester. Apparently some guy called Avon supposedly wanted to meet her, but she wasn’t interested. She’d had enough of that creepy man and his weird little friends, therefore she didn’t even open it.
She just deleted it.
Then, after texting to Tony to let him know she was dropping by, Storm locked the phone and set it back on her nightstand before she went about getting ready for her day. She showered, for a rather lengthy stretch of time as the hot water was a blessed relief for her tense and aching muscles, and soon after she found herself standing in the midst of her closet wearing nothing but her panties.
What should she wear? That was the sole question sitting on the forefronts of her mind as she gazed around at the rails upon rails of clothes that she owned, but hardly ever wore. Hmm. She was going to the club so she guessed she had to look nice… ish.
Style wasn’t exactly her top priority given that she’d be spending most of the day in her office organising the ‘deliveries’ and avoiding human interaction at all costs, but she still wanted to look at least somewhat decent. She didn’t often get the chance to properly dress up, given that she was always doing illegal activities which called for cargo pants and combat boots, so any chance she got to finally show off her assets she’d happily take — even if it meant having to threaten Lazlow with physical violence anytime she caught him staring at her breasts.
With all that in mind, Storm flicked through item after item until one garment in particular caught her eye: a corset top. It was red, cropped, had an easy access zipper on the back and, best of all, it didn't require her to wear a bra. Perfect. She slipped it off the hanger and put it on without so much as second thought, pairing it nicely with her darkest jeans and her favourite pair of black heels, complete with a classy red sole that tied the outfit together perfectly.
Her hair she left down; wigless and natural. Her make-up was nothing more than a bit of mascara and some winged eyeliner, and after a final glance at herself in the living room mirror, Storm was more than ready to head out. She grabbed her keys from the coffee table, locked the door behind her and after a quick survey of her surroundings, she set off for the nightclub.
Although, at this point it was more of an all day club, as she couldn’t recall the last time the place had properly closed. During the day it was usually just rich CEOs looking to burn off some steam with their totally legit ‘girlfriends’, but by night that place was a total free for all for anyone lucky enough to secure themselves a place inside.
Upon arrival, Storm entered through the warehouse and parked her car in the loading bay — ie the spot specifically reserved just for her. She hopped out, closing the door with her hip as her eyes drew to the truck that was parked adjacent to her, with its back doors lying wide to the world and a few crates sitting around it.
Liquor delivery, she thought to herself, and she made a mental note to get Tony to sort it all out. She then headed straight up the small set of stairs and entered her office, already able to hear the muffled music of the local DJ that seeped through the walls.
Settling at her desk, which in comparison to Tony’s was as empty as a desert, Storm logged on to the secure company network to see what needed done, but before she could so much as check her stock levels, her phone pinged. She pulled it from her pocket and glanced down at it, fully expecting a paragraph of nonsense from someone she had no interest in talking to. Like Martin Madrazo or the car dealer Simeon.
I mean seriously… you do one small thing for them and all of a sudden it’s like they own you.
However, to her complete and utter delight, the name on her screen was neither of those two men. It was Agent 14… again. Only, instead of another cute photo of himself eating a donut, this message contained nothing more than some childish words.
This staff meeting blows. Is what they said, followed innocently behind by two thumbs down emojis.
The entire message made Storm smile like an idiot and she unlocked her phone, opening up their thread instantly to respond: Are you texting me underneath the table?
Even just the thought of it made her smile widen.
14 replied: … Maybe.
Storm chuckled. You’re ridiculous.
I’m bored. There’s only so much information about Russian terrorists that I can take.
So fake an emergency and get yourself out of there??
I fake an emergency and every fucker in this room will be drawing their guns.
Storm rolled her eyes. God, you’re so dramatic… I don’t mean a national emergency, I mean a personal one.
Can’t. Would raise too many eyebrows .
That piqued Storm’s interest a little but she let it slide. Best not to get too invested, she told herself, and instead she went straight down the road towards humour: Want me to grab my chopper and fly by? Might alert your bosses enough for them to cut the meeting short. A slight pause, followed by: Especially if they think I’m with the FIB.
Why would they think that?
I have my ways. Storm said vaguely, as she couldn’t go around telling him all of her secrets, now could she?
I bet you do. 14 replied, and she could only hope that he had meant it the way she read it: flirtatiously . But as much as I’d truly love to see that, I’m afraid I have to decline. With your flying skills and lackadaisical nature, you’re more likely to end up in here with me. He paused for a moment then added: And I don’t mean in cuffs.
Fuck you. She was an excellent pilot.
With no hesitation, 14 responded: God, I really wish you were.
That smooth fucker , Storm thought to herself. She was supposed to be annoyed at him.
Chewing at her nails and staring blankly at his message, she sighed a little before giving in. Okay, I won’t lie… that was smooth.
Thank you. I’ve been practicing.
Good. You need it. He didn’t really, but Storm just liked to tease him.
Shut up. There was a brief moment, during which Storm hated how warm and tingly she felt inside her chest, before 14 text her again: So… What kind of completely legal and ordinary activities are you up to right now?
And just like that… the warmth in her chest only grew hotter. Mentally preparing myself to deal with Lazlow.
Lazlow? The fame or shame guy?
That’s the one. He’s friends with Tony and spends most of his time here at the club. Even just typing it made her annoyed and if she could ban him, she would. She kept going: He really bugs me. Him and his stupid fucking light up shoes.
Hey, those shoes are cool, okay? Don’t diss them.
Of course, you would think that.
What’s that supposed to mean?
That you’re a dork.
I resent that.
Feel free to. It doesn’t change the fact that you are. And that she loved it.
14 then sent her a series of sad face emojis that only had the immense warmth in her chest spread further out across her body. As did his next words, which directed that heat a little further south. You know, I think I prefer you underneath the sheets.
Of course you do. Storm replied. Before adding: I’m not spread eagle for you when I’m out of them ;)
Jesus. Short and sweet, but entirely to the point. Don’t make me think about that. You’re gonna make me hard.
Storm scoffed . Make? You’re really telling me that you’re not still fighting against the erection I gave you this morning?
Radio silence; telling Storm everything she needed to know and more, as well as fuelling her ego. Though, it didn’t really satisfy her as much as she wanted it to. She needed to know exactly the kind of power she held over that man and so, without so much as a second thought, she went that little extra step further and sat up straighter in her chair, opening her camera — the one that she only really used when in the midst of scoping out her next potential target.
But just because she didn’t often use that camera, didn’t mean that she didn’t know how to. She was well versed in the fine art of seduction, both verbally and physically. She had to be. It’s how she often got what she needed for scores and whatnot — without killing anyone.
All she had to do was flash a flirty smile and subtly press her chest together, and guys would be falling over each other left right and center to go and get her whatever it was that she needed.
Glancing around to make sure no one — Lazlow — was lurking around, Storm then unzipped her corset top at the back and let the straps fall down her arms a little. She didn’t allow it to fall free entirely, just enough so that the top half of her breasts were poking out from behind it. She had to adjust herself a few times to get the perfect angle, but eventually she was ready to snap a picture that would hopefully force 14 to have to excuse himself from the room.
However, before she pressed the small grey button on her screen, something else caught her eye: her desk drawer. There were a handful of condoms inside it, hidden underneath some paperwork, and in that playful little moment she was having, another lightbulb flicked brightly on inside her mind. She drew open the drawer and plucked a silver square from within, before sliding it closed, tucking the condom directly between the valley of her perky breasts so that only one corner was on show.
It was hard to see, honestly, but it was more than enough. She knew 14 would focus intently, given his newly discovered addiction to her breasts, and he would most definitely know what it was the minute he saw it, so with that in mind, Storm pressed the button and snapped the picture.
Spicy, she thought to herself, but tasteful.
With one quick tap, she then sent the message through to 14 with the caption ‘ thinking of you ;) ’ before setting her phone down, allowing her to pocket the condom and fasten her top back into place before anyone walked in. Her mind wandered aimlessly as she did and she couldn’t help but wonder what his reaction might be. Would he just shuffle in his seat and cough to cover his fluster or would it be worse?
Would his cheeks redden? Would his heartbeat slowly increase? Would he grow so rock hard under his jeans that he actually did have to excuse himself? Who really knows? But any outcome Storm could think up on her own, greatly amused her — as did her next mischievous idea.
Picking the phone back up, Storm noted the small ‘read’ that resided beneath the message and smiled. She then typed: Oops, so sorry… That was meant for someone else .
14 replied quicker than the three dots could appear: It fucking better not have been.
Was that a little jealousy she was sensing? Interesting .
Lip dragging beneath her teeth over the idea, Storm leaned back in her chair and let her thumbs do the talking: I can neither confirm nor deny.
He answered: Don’t play with me.
Storm grinned. But that’s my favourite thing to do. And she threw in an eggplant emoji, just in case he didn’t catch her drift.
Oh, you are fucking in for it tonight. That confirmed it: he was hard, and he was likely hiding in the bathroom waiting for it to cease. The things I’m gonna do to you…
What are you gonna do to me, Agent?
Everything.
It was one solitary word with plenty of other meanings, but it was more than enough to get Storm on the same level of anticipation as he was. Tonight was gonna be something special, she could practically taste it… and it was delicious . She then left it at that and closed out of the thread, you know, before she ended up rereading that message over and over again whilst she touched herself.
God, she’d never fallen so low that a man could send her a single text that turned her on an embarrassing amount. She squeezed her thighs together tightly in hopes of willing it away, but it wouldn’t budge. Fuck. She needed a distraction and she needed one fast, and so she did the only other thing she could think of to cool herself down: she got to work.
Sourcing, stealing, selling: all of the illegal things that gave Tony a heart attack over seeing her do, ended up on her to-do list.
It was tedious, honestly, and most of the time the end result was never worth the effort, but it helped greatly in distracting her from her dirty little thoughts. In fact, it might have worked a little too much as by the time 6pm rolled around, she was ready to call it quits and simply climb into bed.
With a pained groan, Storm slumped lazily into her seat after returning from the nightclub floor. She’d been kicking out a rowdy patron who was annoyed over his hefty bar tab, when she’d tripped over Lazlow’s stupid hobby horse and rolled over on her ankle. Wonderful. It would be just her luck that she’d spend all day getting shot at by angry bikers, only to then be taken out by a children’s toy and a pair of lousy heels.
Storm pulled the shoes off the second she could and let out a relieved sigh, tossing them aside where they would likely lay forgotten after she swapped them for something more comfortable. She brought her leg up to rest on the opposite knee and began to gently massage her aching ankle, praying to God that it would only last an hour or two as she didn’t think standing around to cook on it would do her much good.
If she even did cook, that is, as she had a sneaking suspicion that 14 would simply guide her towards her bedroom and keep her there – until she definitely couldn’t stand.
Standing up, with some rather great difficulty that easily told her she would not be cooking, Storm then limped her way around the partition that separated her desk from the small area of personal space that she had in the office. She carried on, reaching the wardrobe that stood next to the door to the warehouse and she bent over, searching amongst the boxes for a pair of socks - preferably fluffy.
“Talk about a sight for sore eyes.”
And for the second time today, 14’s sultry voice made Storm jump beneath her skin. She straightened, ignoring the hammer of her heart beneath her chest as she spun carefully around, catching the delectable sight of him leaning against the wall with his arms folded across his chest, and a subtle twinkle in his eye.
“Who let you in?” She questioned, only half-seriously as she was more than happy to see him.
However, he wasn’t on the list and Marcel didn’t just let people in, so she was still a small bit curious.
“I have my ways.” 14 responded cockily, throwing her own words right back at her. However, unlike himself, Storm didn’t reply with anything even remotely flirty. She just narrowed her eyes, sending her sharp gaze piercing through his own and right into the very depths of his soul. He gave in instantly. “I bumped into one of your guys outside. He let me in.”
Storm’s brow raised, “One of my guys?”
“Mhm,” 14 hummed, dropping his arms and taking a few steps closer. “I can’t remember his name, but, uh, we’ve met… before.” His eyes widened a little in meaning and Storm caught on easily.
Ah . One of her crew guys, he means. Makes sense. They were always roaming around and in this case it was likely Pred who had let him in, as he was the only one out of the three who really knew about her and 14. She nodded briefly in understanding and moved closer to him, fighting back a wince that threatened to slipped past her lips when she put too much weight onto her fucked up ankle — as she would not be letting it ruin her night.
“Just give me a few minutes...” Storm murmured, trailing her fingertip down his chest and pressing a soft kiss to his lips, “Then we can get out of here.”
“Or we could just, I don’t know…” 14 grabbed her by the waist and spun her around, pinning her body tightly against the sparkly partition behind her. “Do it here.”
“Fucking me against the wall?” Storm teased, as it wasn’t like she cared. She’d fuck him right next to a dumpster if she had to. “How gentlemanly of you.”
“Well ,it wouldn’t be the first time,” 14 muttered shamelessly, causing Storm to have to bite back a moan over the memory. God, that day really was something. He took a firm hold of her hips and guided her a few steps to his right towards the small table that resided there, pausing momentarily at the unsurprising presence of a gun laying atop it. “Jesus Christ, do you have guns everywhere?”
“I’m a criminal, of course I do.” Storm said casually, making him chuckle and shake his head as he lifted it cautiously, throwing it to the side with a gentle clatter. “Though, I should probably rethink that one… Some of Tony’s drunk friends keep coming in here to take a nap and I really don’t need them shooting themselves.”
Though he let out a quiet, humorous huff, 14 said nothing in response. He just kissed her, silencing her completely and stopping any potential ramblings that may have slipped past her lips — as for someone who didn’t talk much, she sure could ramble when she wanted to. But thankfully, Storm had no interest in making any other noise besides the ones he pulled from her. He took her hips again and hoisted her up, setting her atop the table where he instantly parted her legs and settled himself between them.
“You know what I’ve been thinking about all day?” 14 asked, though he didn’t give Storm so much as a second to attempt an answer. Instead, he ducked his head and began to lather her neck in fiery kisses, relishing in the dulcet tones of her soft hums as his hands slowly grazed the curve of her waist. He tugged at the hem of her top when he reached it. “This. And how fucking rude it was for it to block my view.”
“Perhaps you should get rid of it then,” Storm said — or rather instructed, already able to feel the warmth of his hands as they snaked up her back.
“Oh, I am way ahead of you.” 14 drew the corset’s zipper down faster than Storm could fully comprehend and pulled it free, exposing her chest to the cool air around them and hardening her nipples instantly. His eyes drifted down before her top hit the floor, his tongue poking through his lips as he took her in his hands and leaned in, brushing his nose alongside hers. “God, I should not be this addicted to you.”
“Count yourself lucky.” Storm whispered, setting her hands atop his as he gently kneaded the soft mounds of her breasts. “There’s far worse things you could be addicted to.”
That was true. There were plenty of other things he could be addicted to, and yet, in that moment: as he found himself utterly overthrown with desire, 14 couldn’t help but think that none of those other things were anywhere near as dangerous as her. But who really cares, honestly? He had her. And he was rather lucky to be able to say that as if she wanted to, she very well could have killed him.
And gotten away with it.
Taking her lips firmly in his, 14’s teeth knocked roughly against hers as he all but devoured her, tasting every single inch of her hot and textured tongue. The coffee she’d had for breakfast. The slight hint of the finest whiskey she had hidden in her desk. Even the lingering saltiness of the chips she had snacked on earlier… he could taste it all and it was downright intoxicating. He didn’t even care if it was considered gross, he still drank in all it, squeezing every last drop from her like she was a bottle of water and he’d been thirsty for days.
However, in the midst of the steamy moment, neither of them seemed to have realised that they were no longer alone. They hadn’t heard the main office door opening over the muffled music and they most definitely hadn’t heard the clumpy footsteps that grew closer and closer — not over the sound of their own hearts beating, that is.
“Hey, Storm…” It was Lazlow, his voice rudely interrupting them before he and his glowing shoes came into view. “I just wanted to…”
With his jaw quite literally dropping, Lazlow came to a short and sudden stop at the sight of Storm’s exposed chest, his eyes all but bulging out of his skull as he made no effort to divert his gaze. Hell, if anything he practically licked his lips and began to drool — the fucking pervert.
“Wow.” Lazlow breathed out, as Storm ducked behind 14 in an attempt to cover herself. “I mean…” He huffed out a laugh, “Wow. Talk about a boner alert.”
“Okay, I’m gonna give you five seconds to get the fuck out of here.” 14 warned, trying his best to keep his cool as he slipped his arms out of his jacket, passing it back to Storm who put it on instantly and pulled it tight across her chest. He then pointed towards the door, gritting, “Five...”
Lazlow held up his hands, “Okay, okay. I get it. You’re not into sharing, that’s cool.”
The balls Lazlow had on him to say something like that astounded Storm herself, let alone 14. Guess he was far past the days of getting his ponytail cut off by a middle aged man.
Not to mention the dick tattoo.
“I mean it, fucker.” 14 hissed, his patience wearing extremely thin. “Get lost.”
With his hands still up, Lazlow turned on his heels and went to walk away. Only, he got about two whole steps before he suddenly paused, glancing over his shoulder. “Though, can I just say…”
There was next to no shame in his tone and Storm almost feared for him over what his next words might be. He then let out an exaggerated hum and made a squeezing motion with his hands, “Incredible tits. I mean—“ A disturbing groan “— delicious .”
“The fuck did you just say?!” 14 demanded, as though daring Lazlow to say it again. He almost wanted him to, just to give him a valid reason to knock him on his ass, but to no surprise, all Lazlow did was let out a frightened yelp and stumble over his feet.
Hell, even Storm’s heart jumped a little, as she’d never heard 14 sound quite so angry in all the length of time she’d known him.
When he didn’t respond, 14 crossed the floor in a few short strides and grabbed Lazlow by the scruff of his shirt, clenching his fist so tightly he could almost hear the fabric straining. “If you’d like to keep your eyes in your skull then I suggest you get the fuck out of here before I send them rolling across the floor.”
Throwing him in the direction of the door, 14 watched in satisfaction as Lazlow whimpered in fear and held out his hands, all but cowering like the pathetic loser he was.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean anything by it, alright?” Lazlow trembled, still cowering. “Just… Please, don’t hurt me.”
He seemed rather genuine this time, not to mention pathetic, and so Storm placed her hand on 14’s arm and nodded gently — as she chose not to speak around Lazlow… or anyone else, for that matter. She had to offer him a reassuring smile as well just to get him to relax a little, but after a second to cool down, 14 let out a satisfied huff and turned away from Lazlow — you know, before he sent his nose flying out the back of his head, just for some added good measure.
Storm then drew Lazlow’s attention in her direction and cocked her head towards the door, hinting at him to fuck off. He nodded, adjusting his blazer with his still shaking hands before smoothing out his wrinkled t-shirt.
“Jesus, Storm, why are all the guys you fuck in here such psychopaths?” Lazlow mumbled, and luckily for him he had started walking towards the door before Storm could find that gun from earlier.
Or worse, before 14 could.
“Yeah, that’s right… walk away.” 14 called gruffly after him, making him visibly flinch. “And if you ever fucking talk about her like that again. Or better yet, if you even so much as look at her in a way she doesn’t like, I’ll make sure they never find your body.”
And with that threat now hanging securely over his head, Lazlow picked up the pace and scurried out of the office towards the dance floor, where it was safe to say he’d never be leaving again.
Once the swinging door fell still, Storm spun on her heels and grabbed 14 by the front of his shirt, pulling him close, “ Fuck , that was hot…”
“Really? Well, I’m glad you think so,” 14 replied smugly, almost making her regret even telling him. He slipped his hands under his jacket and started to slowly caress her bare waist, as the idea of her wearing absolutely nothing underneath was almost too much for him to bear, let alone willingly ignore.
Oh, who was he kidding?
14 was already so painfully hard beneath his jeans that he knew for certain he wouldn’t last long enough to fully satisfy her once he got her into bed. But he didn’t tell her that. And he didn’t feel ashamed by it either, as there were plenty of things he could do, with both his fingers and his tongue, to completely make up for it.
“Now, before I take you home and give you exactly what you deserve for your antics this morning,” He began in a murmur, brushing his lips over hers and feeling the shuddered breath that left them over the mere thought of what he store for her, “I need you to answer something for me.”
“Anything.”
“Are you fucking other guys in here?”
After what Lazlow had said, 14 just had to ask and he was really hoping it sounded more minorly, yet territorially, curious, than downright jealous. But by the way Storm smiled — or rather, the way she tried her hardest not to, he was starting to believe that it was the latter of the two who had won that fight . Fucking awesome.
Leaning in, Storm let her nose brush alongside his before she whispered softly, “Not since I met you.”
“Good.” 14 said, and the obvious relief that washed over him easily backed up the theory about him being jealous. But at this point, he simply couldn’t care less if Storm knew that. Not when he was the only guy around whom she had on her hook. “Let’s keep it that way… I’m not very good at sharing my toys.” He added, and he almost made it sound insanely hot, had he not then started to grow flustered, “That’s not… Oh boy, that’s… I didn’t mean...”
Cutting him off, Storm placed her thumb over his lips — which still tried to move beneath it. “Shh… I’ll be your toy.” She said softly, to his relieved surprise. She dropped her thumb from his lips and drew it down the length of his chin. “So long as I’m the only one you’re playing with.”
That’s right, the jealousy went both ways and Storm didn’t have a care in the world over how that made her seem.
“You’re the only one I’d ever want to play with,” 14 said seriously, taking her face in his hands and gazing deep into her eyes, where he could see the sparkle of her smile before it had even formed on her lips. “And that’s the truth.”
“I’m glad to hear it.” Storm replied, and with it she put that part of the conversation to bed. She then leaned in to kiss him gently, before murmuring against his lips, “I have a confession to make.”
“What’s that?”
“I can’t cook for you tonight.” She said plainly, causing him to raise his brow and give her an accusatory look. “Not because I can’t cook.” She added defensively, giving him a playful nudge for thinking it again. Though, he didn’t move very far, if even. Not with how tightly and securely he held her in his arms. “I…” Storm sighed. Fucking Lazlow. “I rolled over on my ankle earlier and I don’t think I’ll be able to stand up long enough to cook you anything decent.”
“That’s alright,” 14 replied, momentarily dropping his gaze to where she had one foot slightly lifted from the ground. Guess she wasn’t lying. In one swift move he then lifted her from the ground and set her back on the table, parting her legs and nestling himself back between them. “I had a late lunch and besides…” He pecked her lips. “I much prefer… eating out.”
Jesus fucking Christ, Storm could have came from that and that alone. She gripped the front of his shirt and tugged him closer, bucking her hips against him and feeling the rock hard erection he had hidden beneath his jeans. “You better take me home right fucking now.”
With a smile, 14 swept her off the tabletop and hoisted her up into his arms. “Gladly.”
In hindsight, Storm should have sensed something was amiss when she spotted that SUV on her way in.
Tinted windows. Bulletproof tyres… Government plates. The entire vehicle practically screamed ‘I belong to an IAA Agent’ and yet, in her haste to finally get home and relax after a hard day’s… work, Storm had thought next to nothing of it.
In all honesty, she was too tired to. Too drained, rather, both physically and mentally, that she didn’t have it in her to care about a silly car that stood parked between a Prius and a Minivan. Of course, she acknowledged it — that was entirely unquestionable of someone with her career, but when it didn’t ring any obvious alarm bells inside her mind, Storm came to the solid conclusion that it just wasn’t something to be worried about.
It was parked out in the open, after all, for anyone to see. Not exactly the incognito style of a heavy sting operation set to take her and her crew down, therefore she spared it no second thought and carried on.
The noise of the hustle and bustle of the outside world began to fade as she focused on the front entrance of her apartment building, slipping through the glass doors and making sure they closed fully behind her, before she headed towards the elevator. It was already open and empty — thankfully, as she’d had just about enough human interaction over the past few days to last her lifetime.
And sure, aside from her crew, she’d only technically been around Lester, talking about the next big score or… whatever it was he had rambled about. But with his constantly crude, and shameless , comments, not to mention the “accidental” touches of both her ass and her boobs, she might as well have been with a rowdy group of bikers, so you can easily see why she wasn’t overly up to conversing with any of her talkative neighbours.
In fact, Storm was ready to fully ‘hermit’ herself away for as much of the weekend as possible, that the minute she stepped inside, she spam-pressed the ‘close doors’ button until her fingertips began to lightly tingle. She could hear faint, and dreaded, voices drifting towards her and she did not want to risk them catching her, especially since one of them belonged to the chatty old lady who lived in the apartment below her — she’d never forget the time she’d caught her in the lobby and talked her ear off about knitting for what felt like days.
As if Storm cared, even a little bit, about knitting… I mean, unless she was using the needles to stab someone, then it would be a totally different story, but given that that wasn’t the case, she couldn't have been any less interested if she had tried.
Anyway, as the nagging voice grew stronger and more nerve-racking, the elevator doors finally slid closed and sealed her inside by herself, thankfully. She let out a soft sigh and leaned back against the metal railing the moment they did, relief flowing thick through her veins and her fingers tapping mindlessly against her thighs as she watched the brightly lit number above the door count up from zero.
One…Two…Three…Four… It seemed to show absolutely no sense of urgency as it ascended the building and after what felt like hours, it finally reached the twenty-fourth floor: Storm’s floor.
The doors parted with a quiet ping and she all but jumped out, working her way hastily towards the glorious sight of her apartment door that stood by itself at the end of the hallway. She peered around with heavy caution as she did; surveying her familiar surroundings out of a careful, if not highly paranoid, habit.
The exciting life of a successful criminal with a multitude of enemies.
Nothing seemed any different to Storm, at first glance. The plants in the corners were still sitting unwatered and slowly withering, their brown and shrivelled leaves a mere sneeze away from crumbling. Beside one of those was another large package, sitting just outside her lazy neighbours door alongside a few trash bags they’d yet to take out to the dumpster, but other than that, everything that stood around her felt almost entirely normal.
Except… when Storm finally reached her apartment door after that short journey, there was a slightly out of place scent lingering in the air around it. It hadn’t been there when she left… God even knows when. She’d spent far too many nights in the back of her car recently, that she’d easily lost track of the days, but she definitely couldn’t recall smelling this scent on her way out.
Musky, Storm thought to herself. Almost familiar. She couldn’t quite place it, but the subtle mix of sandalwood and spice that tickled her nose wasn’t all that new to her. She’d smelt it before. Recently . She just wasn't sure where or when, and with the strange way it felt almost comforting to her, to the point where she lingered outside for an extra few seconds, it only furrowed her brows and piqued her interest even higher.
A cleaning product, perhaps? That was Storm’s best guess, if not her laziest. The building owner often had the floors cleaned once a week, and always on a Friday, so in the front of her mind, the familiarity of the smell was slowly starting to make sense.
In the back, however, it didn’t.
Strong, nose-tingling — Hell, headache inducing citrus was always the favoured scent of the apartment building’s cleaning crew, and, deep down, Storm knew that should have been the second red flag that something was up. But at that point she was running extremely low on fumes, cares and energy, and so she simply shrugged it off.
Instead, she unlocked her door and with a soft click of the latch, she slipped inside. Her duffel bag hit the floor in seconds with a solid thump. Her heavy boots followed swiftly behind — before the door had even fully closed, and when it did, she turned the lock, slid the chain in place and thought nothing else of the strange scent that still swirled around outside.
Storm couldn’t smell it now, so that was that. She just let it drift from her aching mind as she carried on deeper into the comforting surroundings of her main apartment. She didn’t really spend much time here, if any, but it was still home.
Cosy, familiar and… dark.
Damn , it was actually so incredibly dark in the empty space of her entryway, that Storm couldn’t see more than a few feet in front of her. But she kept it that way. She had no intention of remaining on the lower floor for longer than the time it took to down a quick mouthful of something strong, so rather than turn on any sort of proper lighting, she simply flicked on the under lights in the kitchen and called it enough.
“You know, it’s surprising really…” A voice then began, instantly dropping Storm’s hand to her waist where her gun lay hidden. However, she didn’t draw it. To her own surprise, her fingers just curled into a fist as the smell outside her apartment door came rushing to the front of her mind again. “For someone so paranoid, you are not, at all, vigilant.”
Relaxing entirely, Storm’s hand then fell loose by her side and she let out a soft sigh. She knew that voice… It belonged to the smell outside her apartment, despite her not having recognised it… at first. But, in her defense, she hadn’t exactly been around him as much physically, as she had been… electronically?
Was that how she would describe it? Maybe… it seemed fitting.
But anyway, whatever it was called, it revolved around having his rather sultry voice rambling directly into her ear for a rather lengthy stretch of time. Feeding her information… Scolding her for being reckless… Unabashedly flirting with her — that one was the most frequent, if she were being honest, and she’d secretly been wondering just how long it would take him to finally show up again.
With a quiet click, the lamp next to him finally flicked on and as it revealed his face, Agent 14 smiled. “Miss me?”
Storm rolled her eyes. “What the hell are you doing here?”
He pretended to think. “Hmm. Let’s call it… Satisfying my own curiosity.” 14 said vaguely, raising her brow along with it. He lifted himself smoothly from the now dented armchair and worked his way towards her, clarifying, “Checking to see if you’re alive.”
Storm’s brow only raised higher. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
“Well, not to bore you by naming a long list of reasons as to why a criminal like you would be…” 14 replied, and she rolled her eyes again. He ignored it. “But you’ve been a little radio silent recently. Now, don’t get me wrong, I'm entirely used to you ignoring my texts and leaving me on read, despite my fascinating nature, but declining my calls?”
“Those were from you?” Storm questioned, with just enough rare playfulness in her tone that it made him frown — profusely.
She didn’t ignore it though, as she couldn’t. He was kind of… cute when he frowned — as far as a nearly corrupt government agent could be, anyway. His lips scrunched up and his brow tightened, almost like a child being told he couldn’t have ice-cream before dinner and there was a strange warmth slowly blossoming in her chest when he even moved further into the dim light of her kitchen, allowing it to cast over the strange concern that sat heavy on his rugged face.
“You used to always answer my calls.” 14 added quietly, the slight disappointment that all but soaked his tone, easily digging its way through her tough outer shell and nipping at her heartstrings.
It was true. No matter the circumstances, she always found time to talk to him.
Running her hand through her hair — or rather, her wig as she hadn’t even settled in yet – Storm let out a gentle sigh, “I’ve been busy.”
Blunt and vague… Oh, it was just like 14 remembered — almost. There was an added splash of sincerity, if not a genuine apology, hidden behind her words this time and that much he appreciated.
“Busy?” 14 repeated, settling himself directly in front of her and leaning his forearm lengthways across the marble countertop of her kitchen island. He then tilted his head, knowingly, “Care to elaborate?”
“No.”
A soft chuckle left his lips, as he really should have known better than to ask her a question about herself. He pointed in her direction, briefly, “You know, talking to you is actually harder than getting blood from a stone.”
Hell, even just getting her to talk was a struggle as for the first fortnight they knew each other, she hadn’t said a single word to him. Something about being careful around new faces or… whatever. He couldn’t quite remember. He was just glad she’d finally lowered her guard and opened up around him, as with a voice like that: all deep and husky, and ugh just utterly delectable, he never wanted her to stop.
“And yet you still do it.” Storm said lightly, completely unphased by his comment, as she spun on her heels and rounded the island towards the rest of her kitchen. His eyes stayed locked firmly onto her as she did so, watching almost intently as she lifted a bottle of red wine from the rack and popped the cork with ease. She poured a glass. “Why are you really here?”
Turning around just as he straightened and adjusted his jacket, Storm leaned back against the counter and sipped slowly at her wine. She could just about make out the way he cleared his throat thickly, her genuine softness having thrown him off almost entirely.
“Well…”
There was clear fluster in his face, tone, and general embodiment, and with the way he scratched at the back of his head, Storm knew all too well that he’d lost his train of thought a little. Cute . She felt her lips tentatively curl behind the rim of her glass as his eyes darted away from her, trying his best to redirect his mind to the path he’d plucked up the courage to finally walk on, whilst she remained nothing but patient with him — which was just another piece of the puzzle that was throwing him off as when it came to Storm… she was anything but patient.
“There’s talk around the agency,” 14 began, with words he cared nothing about yet still felt like he needed to say, just to ease into things. “Apparently a rather skilled crew hit the Pacific Standard bank. Made off with just a little over three million dollars.”
“Did they now?” Storm murmured, sipping at her drink — carelessly. “That’s impressive.”
“Indeed.” 14 agreed, his eyes narrowing slightly as he began to tiptoe around the island towards her. She did nothing as he moved, simply bringing her glass to her lips and savouring the taste as she watched him grow closer.
The second he did, his softened eyes flicked instantly to the ragged scar on the side of her neck. It was still red and barely crusted over… Fresh . Shit, he’d almost forgotten that she’d nearly taken a direct bullet on that last stretch of his stupid lab raid.
Thank God for her crew and their fast trigger fingers.
14’s lips pressed together tightly at the harrowing reminder, his gaze slowly rising to meet her again and when it did, Storm could have sworn she saw some guilt sparking up behind the emptiness he tried so hard to keep on display. “Have you ever considered laying low?”
It was less a question on his part and more of a heartfelt suggestion. I mean, for fuck sake, her and her crew had only broken into that lab a week ago. A week . Only seven short days had passed since she almost lost her life because of him and yet here she was: fresh off the press of another goddamn heist. And it infuriated him, honestly. She could very easily get herself killed, or arrested, and yet it appeared to him that she was more interested in seeing how many felony crimes she could commit and get away with within the space of a month.
“The best time for action is when the cops are busy elsewhere.” Storm replied softly, focus shifting between the mixture of emotion in his eyes and the slight shimmer of his lips; that she was dying to know the taste of. “You know that.”
“I do.” 14 nodded, reluctantly . He shuffled closer as she finished the rest of her drink and set her glass aside, the distance between them only growing shorter which allowed Storm the chance to experience the scent of his cologne in person again. And unlike the first time, she didn’t comment on it so much as bask in it. “But still… A bank heist? Seriously?”
“I’m afraid, I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Storm deflected, as even with the trust she weirdly held in him, she wasn’t foolish enough to say it out loud when the alarms at the bank were still ringing. But even still, she couldn’t stop herself from leaning in even further, her cheek brushing the soft warmth of his own as she made her way to his ear, whispering, “But is that why you’re here? Cause you think I did it… Cause you think I’m rich now?”
As 14 chuckled deeply, Storm drew back from him, brow raised. He lifted one hand, closing it in the air and bravely grazing his knuckles down the softness of her cheek, the ghostly touch of which he could still feel against his own. “Darling, you were rich when I met you.”
“True.” Storm murmured quickly, walking her fingertips slowly up the length of his fast moving chest, her nails sinking into the fabric of his t-shirt and making him sweat a little beneath it before they suddenly lifted, moving up. Gripping the top of his favoured black jacket, she pulled him closer as he swallowed thickly. “But that still doesn’t show reason for you breaking into my apartment.”
“I didn’t break in.” 14 said, causing her brow to furrow deeply. “I have a key, remember?”
Storm’s teeth clenched. Shit . She’d completely forgotten that she’d given him a key to her place back when they were planning the prison break all those months ago. She wasn’t around all that much due to the set-up, and the general way of her life, therefore she had wanted to make it a little easier for him to come and go as he pleased with equipment and whatnot.
Face loosening, albeit against her will, Storm’s next word drew out a touch, “Yeah…” She clicked her tongue and nodded, releasing his jacket from her hold and patting his chest lightly, “I’m gonna need that back.”
As the last thing she needed was for him to lose it… Or worse, leave it in his office where the rest of the goddamn IAA could see it.
However, 14 seemed entirely uninterested in returning it. He smiled faintly, “All in due time, princess…”
“Princess?” Storm repeated, cutting him off. “Do you want me to shoot you?”
14 laughed softly and drew his knuckles down her cheek again — surprisingly . He would have half expected her to shoot him in the head simply for doing that. “If you were gonna shoot me… you’d have done so the minute you realised I was here.”
“About that…” Storm said, tilting her head a little in question. “Why are you here?”
“You haven’t figured that out yet?”
“No, I have.” Storm nodded, her hand falling south and delving under the cover of his jacket to land on his waist, which easily began to tingle a little beneath her gentle touch. “I was just wondering what happened to the whole ‘I was never here’ spiel you gave us, that’s all.”
“Well, I wasn’t here then ,” 14 emphasised, and when Storm showed no other reaction besides a quick quirk of her lips, he upped his bravery and sent his hand aside her neck, his voice softening as he gazed deeply into her eyes and fought his way past all the trauma and towards her , “But I’m here now.”
“That you are,” Storm whispered, leaning in until there was nothing but a sliver of air left between them. “And I’ll deny it if you ever repeat it… but I’m glad for it.”
Without a single lick of hesitation, Storm surprised 14 greatly by making the first move — and to think, he’d been mentally psyching himself up to do it for hours now. But, he easily ignored all that and instead he simply counted his blessings as she pressed her lips lightly against his, as though she were dipping a single toe into the water to test the degree of the temperature, before she fully committed and dove in — headfirst.
It was a little strange at first, how gentle it all felt. The warm kiss. The murmured hums. The soft touches . Genuine affection, in its entirety, wasn’t exactly something either of them were used to, given their lines of work. Storm was a relatively hardened criminal, 14 liked to pretend he was one, but, all in all, they were both trained to stay disconnected. To not know names. To not grow accustomed to anything more than emotionless quickies with strangers, so it was to no shock to either of them that they were somewhat shy…
In the beginning.
It only took a matter of a few seconds, but that subtle shyness was quick to shift course and redirect itself entirely. It surpassed any other kind of speed or mood that most people might browse through, and instead it headed straight for pure, unadulterated hunger — as both of them had been waiting far, far too long to finally do this that they didn’t have so much as a lick of patience to unravel things slowly.
“Where’s your bedroom?” 14 asked once they parted, his own shyness almost taken over fully by his utter desperation to finally get to know what the rest of the ethereal woman standing before him tasted like. “Upstairs?”
Matching his mood right down to a tee, all Storm did was nod her head gently in response as she dragged her bottom lip between her teeth, her twinkling eyes flicking briefly towards the general direction of her staircase. She barely got a chance to return them to his face before she was suddenly pulled away from the counter, her hand now held tightly in his as he all but dragged her upstairs and pushed her eagerly through the wooden door of her bedroom.
“Someone’s excited,” Storm murmured humorously, gaining no outward reaction from 14 other than a few vigorous kisses that were obviously meant to keep her quiet… It didn’t work. “Did I keep you waiting too long, Agent ?”
Jesus fucking Christ , the way his codename rolled so smoothly, and so spine-tinglingly seductive, off her tongue was going to make any future work they did together extremely difficult for him.
“You could say that.” 14 mumbled gruffly, as he’d been sitting in that damn chair for nearly four fucking hours waiting for her to show up. “I thought I was going to have to pull up your picture and start without you.”
Pulling his bottom lip between her teeth, Storm hummed softly at the mere mention of him starting without her. “Don’t you know how to make a girl feel special?”
“What can I say? It’s one of my many talents.” 14 said smugly, feeling Storm’s lips curl against his own before she suddenly went and stuck her tongue deep in his mouth. He reciprocated happily with a few moves of his own and placed his hands firmly on her waist, slowly caressing her prominent curves on his way down to her hips. “Have I ever told you how fucking hot you are?”
“I don’t think so,” Storm whispered, arching her neck and allowing him to redirect his lips and plant them right on the nape of it. She let out a quiet hum as he did, trailing her hands up the length of his back and allowing her fingers to delve deep into his hair. “But I’ll be honest, it’s kind of hard for me to feel hot when I’m wearing cargo pants.”
A slightly scheming chuckle left 14’s lips and puffed out across her skin, causing it to erupt in a thick wave of goosebumps and shiver in such a way that he could feel it against his own. His breath shuddered terribly at the sensation and he lifted his head, backing her up fully against the edge of the bed; where she might have fallen back onto had he not tightened his hold and kept her upright.
“Well…” He drew out, the hotness of his breath contrasting perfectly against the coldness of her skin as he leaned in, his knuckle tracing the lining of her jaw as he placed a near sloppy kiss to her lips – his lust having now completely taken over to the point where he could barely compose himself. “If that’s the case, then perhaps I should take them off… Show you how truly fucking hot you are underneath them.”
“I like the sound of that,” Storm breathed out, barely… God, for someone who seemed so dorky at times, he really knew how to get her going. “But you should probably take the gun out of them first… You know, in case you shoot yourself.”
“Now that would be a tragedy,” 14 replied, his hand slinking around her hip and passing the cold, hard and quite fully loaded gun that was hidden at the base of her back. Her brows pinched as he did and she almost questioned him about it before she finally felt it, the firm squeeze of her ass that he gave her instead, as his eyes grew entirely mischievous. “Oops… I guess I missed.”
Rolling her eyes, yet thoroughly enjoying every second of it, Storm simply dropped her own hand to the gun and slid it out from her waistband. She drew it around her hips slowly, brushing the barrel down the front of the tightening crotch of his jeans and getting a kick out of the harsh bob of his throat as he swallowed thickly.
“As corny as this sounds…” Storm began, glancing down, “There better not be a gun in your pocket.”
“Trust me, there isn’t,” 14 said immediately, and to his relief she then lifted her gun up between their bodies at a leisurely pace, the muzzle slipping under his jacket as she silently urged him to remove it. And of course he obliged, gun or no gun, the dark material hitting the floor just as he added, “I’m just really glad to see you.”
Tossing the gun aside, Storm grabbed 14 roughly by the front of his shirt and spun him around, hooking her foot around the back of his ankle to help thrust him back onto the bed. She straddled him the minute he hit the mattress with a whispered oof , stopping him from getting back up and using her knees to pin his hands by his sides before he so much as think to touch her.
“You should know that I don’t usually like to mix business with pleasure.” Storm said, trailing her finger down his rapidly moving chest as he gazed up at her, his focused eyes all but drinking in the delectable sight of her on top of him. “But this…” She bucked her hips slowly, grinding herself against him in a way that had a deep groan rattle up his chest and his arms only clenched out of desperation to pull his hands free and take her entirely. “ This is a pleasure that I just can’t resist any longer.”
“Then by all means, don’t.” 14 said, and he might as well have got down on his knees and begged, as in his head… that’s exactly how it sounded.
“Oh, I have no plans to,” Storm replied, her sensual tone only making his eyelids flutter as she shuffled her hips back a little, purposely grinding them in the process and making him stifle a groan as she dropped her hands to make a start at slowly undoing his belt. “But first…” The leather strap fell free of the buckle as she spoke and she tugged at it, hard , “I think it’s for the best that we both agree that this can only be a one time thing.”
“It truly crushes me to hear you say that,” 14 admitted, though he kept his irony. He managed to wiggle his hand free from beneath her knee and he lifted it up in order to take hers, their fingers lacing together and his thumb tracing lightly over the back of her hand. “But I have to agree.”
“Good.” Storm murmured, leaning down to kiss him softly as she pulled off his belt, feeling him lift his hips as much as he could to make it easier for her. “Cause I can’t go around getting too attached to things.”
14 forced out a quiet laugh. “Trust me, neither can I. But you have my word…” His eyes flicked to hers and locked on fully, though the subtle glimmer behind them completely contradicted the next words to pass over his lips, “This is a one time thing.”
Despite the brief moment of doubt that washed over her, as she could already sense that this was likely to be a hell of a lot more than a ‘one time thing’, Storm still smiled. She leaned down, pecking his lips in quiet thanks before finally letting him get started. He had her flipped her over and lying beneath the hardness of his body within seconds, moving his hands slowly across her own and truly savouring their one time together as he undressed her slowly.
As for Storm, she simply laid back and basked in every second of it, relishing entirely in the warm, gentle feeling of his hands as they grazed the softness of her skin. Starting off light then growing firm, he changed pressure wherever he saw fit to do so. He was also rather thorough, too, and she was glad for it. He paid every part of her body just as much undivided attention as the last — with both his hands and his mouth — and as her eyelids fluttered closed, 14’s head burying itself between her thighs and kissing every single inch of them before he tucked in, Storm figured it was best to remind herself, in a quiet shuddered breath, that this was nothing more than a…
In hindsight, Storm should have sensed something was amiss when she spotted that SUV on her way in.

He paid every part of her body just as much undivided attention as the last — with both his hands and his mouth — and as her eyelids fluttered closed, 14’s head burying itself between her thighs and kissing every single inch of them before he tucked in, Storm figured it was best to remind herself, in a quiet shuddered breath, that this was nothing more than a…
Summary: It was only supposed to be a one time thing, but now that they’d gotten a taste for it… Agent 14 and the opportunistic criminal he just happened to have crossed paths with, would soon come to realise that what they had was so much more than they expected.
