I posted this on DA sometime ago but I think it’d be cool to put here as well! It’s an AU about starclan kits and apprentices getting a “second chance” at life kinda! Now the rest is copy and pasted lol
This is super long and doesn’t really have to do with anything aside from the pictures posted above.. I came up with this idea and might be obsessing over it just a little.. I keep coming up with more fun stories it could create! This is kinda all over the place and idk how much sense it’ll make..
SO ONTO THE REALLY LONG RAMBLE…
I was thinking about Cinderpelt being given a second chance at life but not exactly reincarnated.. like Cinderheart is still her own person. But Cinderpelt guided her until she lived her life as she’d hoped to, (Becoming a warrior and getting a mate in Cinder’s case) then after that she returned to starclan, satisfied. I think the idea is really nice, but it also is sad and doesn’t make much sense that it happened to Cinder but not cats like Swiftpaw, Gorsepaw, Mosskit, Snowkit, and so many others that died before really getting to experience life.
ALSO kits never growing up doesn’t seem so bad but then there’s kits like Fluttering Bird that are 2 moons and super wise and it’s kinda weird to me lol..
So I was thinking, what if kits and apprentices who died are chosen to guide a kit through its life..?
once the kit has become a warrior, gotten a mate, become leader, etc.. whatever goal both cats wanted to achieve, the Starclan cat will return to Starclan full time again
also they would grow alongside the kit.. so an apprentice guide would start aging when their kit reaches the same age as them. that way the kits don’t die and poof! They’re immature adults! But also they don’t stay kits forever.
When the guide’s mission is complete a leader in Starclan will call a meeting and grant them their warrior name
I think it’d be kinda like soulmates but not romantic. They’d probably have personalities that compliment one another and they’ll both be able to help each other in different ways, even if one may not be aware of the other’s existence.
That would probably depend on some things too. I think most cats wouldn’t know about their guide, they’d just feel like there’s a specific thing they need to do or not to do or whatever.. but some might be able to see glimpses of them, or visit them in dreams, and maybe very rarely some can always see their guide which could be fun!
I think the guides will also still come to starclan from time to time. maybe they’d have little gatherings together to discuss things.. I think the conversations would be funny!!
Guide 1 “My kit is so stupid! He won’t stop getting into trouble and I don’t know what to dooo…!!”
Guide 2 “Oh? Funny. Your kit sounds like you.”
Guide 3 “My kit is perfect.. I’ve never been so proud!”
Guide 4 “guys please help me I think mine is starting her villain arc how do I fix it…”
there’s so many cool storylines it could create too… one example I came up with that I really liked..
-The medicine apprentice Lightpaw received a troubling omen, she wasn’t able to discover the meaning in time and met her demise along with many clanmates. She never stopped blaming herself for her mistake. When a young kit is born and prophesied to save the clan, Lightpaw is sent to guide it. She’s determined to keep the kit safe and ensure things go right this time.
Throughout the kit’s life Lightpaw comes to the realization things weren’t completely her fault, and over time she’s able to forgive herself and move on. The kit is able to successfully save the clan and becomes leader, Lightpaw (now Lightstep) is able to give them one of their lives.
