“that’s amazing!” kaleb exclaimed, clearly interested in what the other had to say. “i used to go there when i was younger to get new games. i freaking loved that place…” reminiscing other times was always bittersweet, and he found himself thinking about checking ru’s again to see how everything was over there. “cyclops, yeah. i think i know who that is! now i feel like watching the movies, not gonna lie.”

🚀  ~  | “ yeah i love that place, i always used to go there like growing up and they gave me a job when i was like 15 so i’ve worked there for like 6 years. “ he laughed a little when he realized how long he had actually worked at the same place. “ yeah, cyclops is super cool ! i have like all the movies on dvd back at my house. “

alexander beamed as they were invited to sit down and did just that , plopping down into criss - cross applesauce next to otter. “ we’ll have to plan a picnic ! i’ll make all sorts of foods. “ they offer with a sweet smile , folding their hands in their lap “ how have you been anyway ? what are you reading ? “ they ask , nodding toward the comics.

🚀  ~  | otter nodded in agreement “ yeah i’d totally love to have a picnic with you ! “ he knew that alexander’s cooking was super good too so he would be more than happy to have a picnic with them if they were cooking. “ i’ve been super good ! i mean i haven’t really left the house except to go to work but apart from that i’ve been good ! “ he looked at his pile of comics and then back at alexander “ oh ! these are just some comics from work, this one is an x-men one “ he smiled, showing the one in his hand.

harper brighten up a bit at their response, happily sitting down across the stranger. “who doesn’t?” he said jokingly, sporting a grin. “i haven’t read any of the x-men comics in forever, but they’re one of my favorites,” he admitted, his eyes wandering over the stack they had, wondering if there were ones he had yet to read. “i’ve been more into the captain america comics lately, since they became more mainstream, i guess.”

🚀  ~  | otter nodded as he listened to the other. “ yeah i used to read them all the time when i was little but i’ve decided to read them all again now and it’s making me super nostalgic. “ he chuckled slightly before he began to lay out all his comics that he had with him “ here you can read one if you’d like. i only have one captain america with me today but i have like 20 more at home “

luca laughed and looked down at his camera, wanting to say something witty but was not too sure of how the other would react. turning the camera on, he turned the screen towards otter, showing off some nature shots he had taken earlier. “ahh, yeah, i’m pretty good i guess. i can take your pictures, too, if you want/.”

🚀  ~  | otter looked at the others camera screen and nodded as all of his nature shots were really good. “ they’re really good ! “ he exclaimed, he enjoyed it when people showed him their { talents }. “ yeah of course you can take some photos of me, i mean i’m not that interesting but i bet your photography skills could make me look it. “ he chuckled

alexander spotted a familiar face in the park and their lips curled up into a happy smile. they were on their break and the park was one of their favorite places to spend it , people watching or enjoying nature. it made them even happier to run into a friend. they trotted over and grinned at otter , giving a wave as the other looked up. “ hello ! “ they glanced at the comics and the food “ are you having a picnic ? “ they ask , wanting to sit down but not wanting to overstay their welcome or bother the other.

🚀  ~  | “ oh hey ! “ otter said happily when he saw alexander, he hadn’t seen them in a while and it was always nice to { catch up } as he hadn’t been to many of his friends social gatherings recently. “ yeah it’s sorta a picnic except i only brought one sandwich. “ he laughed and shrugged a little “ you can sit down if you want, we totally have to catch up “

“hm,” mitch tilted their head in acknowledgement. it was a fair enough worry, they supposed. “okay,” their shoulders lifted in a shrug. their gaze zero’d in on the comic in his hands. “what are you reading?” they inquired, not getting a very good look at the cover of the work.

🚀  ~  | otter looked down at the comic book in his hand “ oh just an x-men comic, x-men is my favorite comic book. “ he smiled softly as he spoke. he looked back up at the other and shielded his eyes with his hand so he could see them. “ have you ever read them ? “

kaleb smiled brightly at the response. the other didn’t seem like the type who would give him a dirty look and go on with their life, but still he couldn’t help but be surprised. “i’ve never been a comic person myself. i don’t think i could even name a few x-men if i’m honest, so i’m gonna have to trust you.” he replied, hoping the other wouldn’t get upset for his statement. “who’s your favorite? x-men, i mean… i always have time to learn a lil’.”

🚀  ~  | otter didn’t mind when people came a struck conversations with him, in fact he enjoyed meeting new people that he could be friend with. “ oh really ? i love comic books, i work down at ru’s comic book shop so i’m surrounded by comics pretty much all of the time “ he let a small chuckle past his { lips }. “ um - i’d have to say that my favorite x-men is cyclops “ it was a hard decision but he chose to go with one of the most known ones in hopes that he’d know who that was. “ he was a character in the movies so maybe you know him ? “

their approach of the individual wasn’t necessarily something they meant to happen. they were more so distracted on their phone and didn’t realized they’d ended up stopping in front of the individual until they were spoken to. turning away from their device to look at him, they found themselves recognizing the individual. being around rosegold for a few years now, they had a pretty grasp on who they’ve seen around consistently and this individual was someone they’d come across on occasion over the years. “hello,” they offered in response, tone a bit flat seeing as they hadn’t meant to actually start a conversation.

🚀  ~  | otter hadn’t meant to come across as { strange } when he spoke to the other he just seemed distracted by his phone and otter was a little worried that he would end up tripping over him if he hadn’t made him aware that otter was down there. “ sorry i just didn’t want you to trip over me or something, i wasn’t sure that you would’ve looked away from your phone in time “ he chuckled softly.

kaleb didn’t do lonely, and he often forgot not everybody felt the same way. that had him running into people and starting random conversations, not realizing the other party had never been interested in them to begin with. that day, he approached a guy sitting all alone and looked down at him until he caught his attention. at the other’s greeting, kaleb showed him a big smile. “hi! how’s that coming?” he asked, pointing at the comic he had in his hands.

🚀  ~  | otter looked up at the man and blinked a few times, he was a little taken back by how easily the other came over and just started talking to him. he looked down at where he was pointing and realized he was talking about his comic. “ oh ! um, its going good i guess “ he shrugged a little as he wasn’t completely sure of how to respond to the others question. he closed the book and showed him the cover “ it’s just x-men volume 223. “ [ x-men ] tended to be the comic book that he reached for the most.

Luca just wanted a nice stroll in the park with his camera in hand, taking note at the beauty of the place in the summertime. He took a couple pictures of the flowers, as he never enjoyed taking pictures of strangers, and found a nice bench not too far off the trail. As he walked closer, the boy noticed someone else sitting there and debated speaking to them until he was kindly greeted by the other.

“hey!” he smiled back, holding his camera close. “Sorry if I bothered you or something, just taking a walk.”

🚀  ~  | he closed his comic book and smiled as he shook his head “ oh no it’s fine. “ he reassured. he { enjoyed } having chats with new people he came across, most of the time it was the local elderly couples who were keen to pinch his cheeks, but hey he was happy with talking to someone around his age as well. otter looked at the camera in the others hands “what’s that ? are you a photographer ? “ he asked curiously.

🚀  ~  | otter enjoyed the local park ; it was one of his and his [ ex boyfriends ] favorite place to spend their free time together. he took in a d e e p breathe and sat down in his usual spot and took out a sandwich and a couple of comics from his bag. the sun was beaming down on him. he was peaceful here. 

he looked up from his comic when the sun got blocked by someones figure “ hey “ he smiled softly.
