Grace falls in love with Simon incrementally. When Simon first showed up, Grace was more interested in him purely from scientific standpoint, both in terms of how & why he got here, and what the fudge was up with those crazy cool looking mutations. There was nothing romantic about it. Grace had never really been a romantic person, after all. That is, until weeks into Simon's stay aboard the Hail Mary.

He hadn't even noticed it happening, to be honest. But over time, the soft way in which Simon settled into the dynamics grew on Grace. Pain came with the presence of another human, of course. It required the confrontation of a lot of traumas on both their ends, and it was entirely too messy for Grace's liking, but it got easier, over time.

And with that ease, came softness. A sort of domesticity that Grace never imagined himself taking part in on Earth, let alone 11.9 light years away from it. But can he be blamed? Can one truly blame Ryland Grace, when Simon's eyes started to hold more than just fear? When something small, soft, fond, kind reflected back at Grace from the depths? And when Simon instinctually whispered an apology to the table when he bumped into it, how was Grace supposed to feel anything but a fondness melting into his chest? And for all that Grace pretended to grumble and roll his eyes when Simon and Rocky got on a little too well, trading quips and words that Grace would rather not repeat, he often found himself hiding a smile at their antics. A fondness that would be his damnation.

It was these little moments, the accruement of instances, that found Grace falling, slowly, into love.

In the meantime, here’s a redraw from the Silver Eyes Graphic Novel I did. FNAF is a horror series why the hell is it so bright here 😭 Especially considering that Spring Bonnie is William’s murder suit, I feel like having the darkness really sets that tone more efficiently. Also I have a growing head-canon that Spring Bonnie is his FAVORITE. Of course, this obsession with the character is taken to an unhealthy degree, which is ironic considering how he became one with Springtrap. (Nothing wrong with strongly having a fave lol)
