now let’s talk about cordelia’s insecurity surrounding james’ supposed type (i.e. grace) being white and how that fucked with her mentally

red/darker hair vs blonde, brown vs fair, curves condemned as lascivious vs a slim/dainty figure, thick hair that looks silly in western ringlets vs fine silky hair, rich dark colours because pastels don’t suit your skin vs a girl that can dress in white (+ fire vs ice)

cordelia was constantlyyy comparing her ethnic features to everything that made grace an english (idris?? 🥀🥀 ) rose

^^^ also the added assumption a white man will prefer a white partner and that, as a woc, she stands little to no chance (a famous rite of passage for most women of colour. cordelia GET BEHIND ME)

now that everyone can finally read bib (i got the arc at the beginning of july so i already read it) (before anyone comes for me i am also a kickstarter backer) can i just say that i thought the herondaisy story was…well…bad to say the least 😭 this was obviously my most anticipated one and i just don’t understand why you’d market this story as a james and cordelia one and then have it not be about them? why is their story literally the only one in the entire collection that wasn’t from their povs? why did lucie have to be there? why was it so meta? it felt like she was using it as a way to chide the fandom for the criticisms they brought up during the chot era. also i thought we were supposed to get the second wedding runes scene so where did that go?

this story is by far my biggest disappointment and don’t get me wrong my expectations were super low to begin with and yet here we are 💀 why were they sidelined in their own story i just don’t get it 😭 i won’t be annoying about this and in fact this is probably gonna be my first and last post on the topic but it’s just sad to me that this was probably the last time we were ever going to see them and we didn’t get a proper sendoff bc guess what it wasn’t even from their povs and we did not learn anything substantial about their lives post canon. i’m so mad about it it’s not even funny.
