For example, I usually don't mind being called a specific gender, although I don't like the idea of there being expectations being placed on me or there being preconceived notions as to who I am.

I see myself as myself, a person. I'm myself first before anything else.

my experience is wanting to be gnc because i only get social dysphoria in terms of peoples perception and less so how i present myself BUT the social dysphoria being so severe that i cant bring myself to be gender non conforming because i will cry if someone misgenders me or percieves me wrong

(hyper)fem trans man gnc experience is not feeling welcome anymore with the recent rise of people hating fem trans men (tiktok). esp the ones with big chests or chests at all. wish i could attach screenshots because its vile af and has thousands if not a million likes. but i want to stay anonymous. it went something along the lines of "when the glamour he/they with d cups is surprised about me misgendering him" and it had 1.6 MILLION likes. i genuinely hate existing as a transmasc atm. genuinely.

So I'm a transmasc butch and I also knit/crochet, and I'm currently knitting a scarf for my grand-aunt bc she asked me to, and while I was doing it, just totally vibing because I love doing long projects, I randomly thought "totally breaking gender norms rn." Like. Basil. Um. Yeah. You use neopronouns, are a butch, and dress like a librarian who is secretly an assassin, I don't think knitting is this big break for you buddy.

By the way all of you who think you have to be trans or nonbinary to be gnc. Please be aware you have just invented a new binary for yourself and new gender roles. Get out of there. You don’t have to do that.

You can be cis and gnc you can be trans and gnc. You can be both. You can have an incredibly complex relationship to gender and just slap the gnc label on there.

It can be as simple as you’re a chick who is her partner’s boyfriend. You can be some guy who sews and cooks and cleans. You can just not give a fuck how people refer to you. You can be a Saturday butch or a late night dragster. You can be a closet cross dresser. You don’t HAVE to be anything. You can do everything forever. Just keep yourselves safe.
