Pros:

it’s fun AF

it’s great writing practice

it can be a great act of self-care

it allows you to play around in your favorite worlds

it allows you to focus on developing plot and subplot

it can help you work out frustrations with canon

it can be a great way to make other writer friends

it can be a great way to find community

it can be a great way to find an audience for your writing

it’s a great way to get feedback on and improve your writing

it’s a great way to learn to cope with criticism and feedback

it can help build your confidence
