Some snaps from our first day in Budapest
The baths in Budapest
It's almost over.. Second to last stop is Budapest!
After an early morning bus ride we arrived in Budapest at about 10 am. Straight away we fell in love even though we hadn't left the bus station as the food everywhere looked amazing! We figured out the metro system and arrived at our hostel to meet my cousin who is currently traveling Europe with her boyfriend. The first thing we did was climb a massive mountain that gave us a view over the whole of Budapest. It was incredible! Again, we weren't prepared and we wearing jandals but let's be honest jandals are the most versatile shoe ever! Our first night in Budapest was spent on a dinner river cruise. Budapest is beautiful at night so this was an amazing experience. The following day we headed to the baths for some relaxation. So many people and it was freezing outside of the baths but so nice being is a 27-37 degree pool. The sun was also out so we got a wee bit of a tan which was an added bonus! Josh and Kim arrived from Vienna that afternoon so we met up with them for dinner and continued the night by drinking cocktails. Budapest is so cheap cocktails are about €3 per drink so we were loving it. Food is so cheap too so we were able to eat quite a few meals out. On the Saturday night we decided to keep up tradition and join the Budapest Pub Crawl. It was quite tame compared to the other ones we've done so we probably should have tamed ourselves however we went the way and proceeded to annoy the tour guide. Court and I annoyed him to the point that he said "really girls, I'm about to get serious" so we backed away slowly haha. The next day was spent in bed all day and eating. Since being in Budapest we had been on the hunt for sushi so we found one and walked half an hour for it. Turns out it was a sushi/Japanese full on train with all the food imaginable. So we ate, and ate and ATE! We were out of control. Nice way to end our time in Budapest!

Schnitty Time in Vienna
With less than 3 hours sleep we were up bright an early for our last busabout stop to Vienna. We arrived early evening so decided to make the most of our 3 days here and do the night walking tour. It was a good way to see the city especially at night where everything was lit up. After 2 hours of walking we finished the tour with our first Austrian schnitzel, the famous apply strudel which was amazing and of course a beer. The following day we visited to Sisi's apartment (famous queen) followed by coffee and cake at a well known coffee shop. We did a little more exploring then when to the markets by our house to get ingredients for a picnic. So cheap and full of cheeses, falafel, dips etc. With our picnic in hand we ventured out to a theme park. We all got to pick a ride each. First ride (Josh's choice) is my new favourite ride I have ever been on. I have never ever screamed so much and thought my life was over. It felt like we were plunging face first into the concrete ground at 100miles per hour. I think this ride has scarred Danielle for life. Her fear for heights has now sky rocketed! Went on a few more roller coasters then ended it with my now WORST ride ever!!! I don't know what people were thinking when they invented a terrible spinning ride that made you want to vomit within the first 2 seconds. We all came off it looking pale and hating life! Also, we got a lotto ticket and the draw was for 142 million euros.. We were all pretty sure we would win something so weren't able to sleep that night as we were planning our new lives. We didn't win a cent. Annoying so back on with the backpacking we go! Last day in Vienna we booked in for an all day 25km bike wine tour! Was a beautiful day spent biking through small country towns and wineries. We stopped of at a few wineries for lunch and wine tasting. It was probably one of the best tours I have been on and luckily was a perfect sunny day! We met some nice kiwi girls from the Hutt so went to dinner with them and enjoyed our last schnitzel.
Prague
Prague
When we got to Prague and started exploring I instantly fell in love with it. It’s so different to what Western Europe looks like and was very gothic. Loved it. The photos do not do it justice at all.
Our first night there, Josh and Kim were hung over so Court and I headed out on the famous Prague Pub Crawl ourselves. We arrived feeling a bit awkward but after power hour (an hour of free beer, wine, vodka and absinthe shots) we had come out of our shells. The pub crawl lived up to its reputation and at 6.30 am we found ourselves leaving the gigantic five story club.
The next day we spent exploring Prague before heading out for possibly the worst meal ever. We order steak and were served cold meat loaf. So disgusting. So we went and got hot chocolates, cheesecake and a cheese burger afterwards.
We decided we needed a pamper day so as the next day was my birthday this fitted in nicely. Finally we got our eyebrows done properly, got a hair cut (although it’s shorted than we would have liked) and ate some caramel lattes and cake in the Jewish Quarter.
That night we headed out to the pub crawl again. The five story club at the end has an Ice Bar in it so we booked in for that! Was so much fun!
Street art in Berlin as well as pieces of the Berlin Wall
Berlin.. Amazing kebab
Berlin
Berlin is well known for its nightlife and have been told of an amazing warehouse club. As we arrived on Saturday night we though it would be perfect night to go there. Started off with a few bottles of wine in our apartment then ended up at a house party in an apartment above.
Was so crowded and could hardly move so Danielle and I left Kim and Josh behind and went back down stairs to carry on our own party. Of course Celine Dion came out which I don’t think the neighbours appreciated. Shortly after we heard a knock on the door, thinking it was Kim, I ran and opened the door to find two cops standing there. Got such a shock that I slammed the door in there face and ran off leaving Dan to go deal with it. Luckily she figured out we had a noise complaint. Not too sure how we got one and the party upstairs with more than 50 people and a dj did not get one warning…. Before we knew it it was 3.30am so did not make it out.
Berlin has a lot to see so we did a biking tour which took as around all the main attractions. For lunch we stopped at a big beer garden where we had schnitzel and sherbet flavoured beer then carried on to the holocaust memorial and checkpoint Charlie (the main checkpoint for the Berlin Wall).
Berlin is famous for creating the donor kebab after World War II so we went to the most famous kebab shop in Berlin. We waited 45 minutes in line for the most incredible kebab ever! So worth it!
The following day we went to the Jewish museum. I don’t think I have ever cried so much in public. Was so sad. We also did a street art walking tour. Was amazing to see all the local famous street artists work.
Berlin was another beautiful city with so much history.
