My heroes (Harriet Tubman, Jesus of Nazareth, Sylvia Rivera, Greta Thunberg, Bayard Rustin, and many more) are generally criminals.

The law ranges from indifferently patronizing (at best) to truly evil. To be human, we must sometimes break the law or look the other way when it is broken by others.

When other adults use the excuse that 'it's the law' or worse 'it's not against the law' to excuse cruel and dehumanizing behavior, I don't have to wonder if they'd return a 'fugitive slave'.

I know they would.
