One day I want to visit Venice. It supposed to be all gentle canals, beautiful buildings and elegant gondolas.

I'd like to believe so.
I was reading about the US government shutdown, here are my favorite takes on the situation.
"The party that professes to worry about the deficit just cost the nation billions of dollars for no reason whatsoever: WELL DONE." -Andy Borowitz
"Sarah Palin said that if a deal isn't reached by Aug. 2, nothing will happen. Do you hear that, award-winning economists?" –Jimmy Kimmel
"Speaking of the debt crisis, I read that if the U.S. debt were stacked in $100 bills, it would be as long as two football fields and as high as the statue of liberty. You know, just in case $14 trillion didn't seem like a lot to you." –Jimmy Fallon
"I'm not saying this Congress is bad at its job. I'm just saying that this Congress is equivalent to a skunk with its head in a jar of Skippy peanut butter." –Jon Stewart
"President Obama is starting to get tough. He said he's reached his limit and he will not give in on his debt ceiling position even if it costs him his presidency. Well, that should make the Republicans fold. 'We've got to save Obama's presidency.'" —Jay Leno
I always feel warm when I listen to this song, its like a cup of hot chocolate on a cold, rainy day.
I love this style, its casual but still elegant.
'You could rattle the stars,' she whispered. 'You could do anything, if only you dared. And deep down, you know it, too. That's what scares you most.'
Sarah J. Maas, Throne of Glass (via quoted-books)
Sometimes the simplest things can be the most beautiful.
First time hearing this song, the only words I can use to describe it are, hauntingly beautiful.
The ballerina
I wrote this poem today after watching a exquisitely beautiful documentary about ballet.
Shivering, the embrace of the coat
Soothes.
Tangled knots and broken plastic.
words, scattered on the floor
dusty and misused.
Ice cold mirror
Chills.
Strong elastic tames unruly hair,
Shaking hands and crimson lips.
-------------------------------------------------
Creaking stairs and ink black darkness.
The coat falls
forgotten
to the floor.
Ribbon clad feet
step, firmly on polished wood.
---------------------------------------------------
twirling,
faces blur into colours.
poised arms
a few more steps
and a leap.
Arcing through air like,
a soaring dove
---------------------------------------------------
She dances,
bathed in gold.
And you tried to change, didn’t you? Closed your mouth more. Tried to be softer, prettier, less volatile, less awake…You can’t make homes out of human beings. Someone should have told you that. And if he wants to leave, then let him leave. You are terrifying and strange and beautiful. Something not everyone knows how to love.
Warsan Shire, For Women Who Are Difficult to Love (via quoted-books)
"The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is to high and we miss it but that is is too low and we reach it"
Michelangelo
This always cheers me up when I feel overwhelmed and sad.
