Busy day in Hemel Yard!
Cranes are often used to load/unload the large compressor packages we supply. Today this crane has been used to load 3 large containerized compressors being sent to the end user

Atlascopcosaurus
Did you know that there is a species of dinosaur called “ Atlascopcosaurus” named after Atlas Copco for providing the mining equipment that discovered it in Australia! We still have one working in the office today!

Always Improving

The Compressor Store goes Worldwide!
Atlas Copco UK was the first company to introduce a Compressor Store available for customers! Now the compressor store is going Worldwide with different Atlas Copco branches launching their own!
My supervisor is the main point of contact for queries about the Compressor Store and I assist him with that. Just recently we had a meeting with the Vice President of Marketing & Worldwide E-Commerce Manager about launching the compressor store on an international scale!
Exciting stuff!

We’re also raising money for World Water Day here in the Hemel Office!
Here are just the few I managed to grab for a picture. We’re in blue and donating to the charity set up by Atlas Copco employees over 30 years ago - Water For All. They really do great things for people with no access to clean drinking water. Check them out here: http://www.water4all.org/us/ ~Micah
Water for All
Next week Wednesday 22nd of March is World Water Day. As Atlas Copco's charity is Water for All, we decided to hold a dress in blue day today to raise money for Water for All. Find out more about the wonderful work Water for All does here.
Here's everyone in Desoutter dressed in our favourite blue outfits.

First week in systems
It’s been a challenging first week in Systems. With the help of Bhanu – Systems Business Controller, I am beginning to understand my new role and the responsibilities I have been entrusted with. Some of the tasks I have been given include functional cost and cost centre analysis as well as assisting with month end close reporting. This is just a flavour of what I will be experiencing over the next few months within the Finance team. -Samir
New Project-Pivotware
My new project involves the UK product launch of the new Pivotware software here in Desoutter. I get to be involved in all aspects of the launch including marketing, projects, sales and service. This will give me the opportunity to see all the different aspects that are involved in a product launch. I have even been able to travel to Burton-on-Trent, Pivotware headquarters to see everything that goes into creating new innovative software.

Light Towers
Our Atlas Copco portable light towers in the yard, these machines have a 0.5 litres per hour fuel efficiency which gives a running time of 260 hours on one small tank of fuel. The lights can illuminate a 5000 metre squared area with a brightness of 20 Lux. The towers also have light sensors which sense when it gets light/dark. As a result they can be set up so that when it gets dark the tower powers up and raise up to full height and then turns off and drops down again once it is light again. As a result these machines can run completely self sufficiently for 2-3 weeks if needs be!
