‘You Did Good’ prompts
“Hey, [name]! That was some nice work out there.”
“You know, you really… reach people, when you try.”
“You did good. You know that, right?”
“That was impressive.”
“How did you figure that out?”
“You helped. That’s something to be proud of.”
“It’s okay. Hey, [name]. You’re okay, you did it.”
“It could have been a lot worse. Give yourself some credit.”
“I like you just like this, you know. You don’t have to be perfect.”
“Hey. We did everything we could.”
“They’re safe – hey! They’re safe. Let’s focus on you for a minute, okay?”
“Everyone’s been evacuated, you were the last out. Let’s get you checked out.”
“You’ve been helping all of them? Alone?”
“Sometimes you do your best work and things are still shitty. That’s just how it goes.”
“I’ve never seen you like that before.”
“You’re not psychic. You couldn’t have known.”
“I’m right here. You found me in time, I’m right here.”
“It’s over. Hey! It’s over. Everyone’s safe. You did that.”
“These people wouldn’t be alive if it weren’t for you.”
“I wouldn’t be alive if it weren’t for you.”
“Where did you learn to [fight/issue orders/do first aid/etc] like that?”
“There was nobody in the building, [name]. You got them all out.”
#Kevin is amazing and this is like one of her oldest OCs and alksdfjlk#I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU STILL HAVE HIM KEVIN#IN A GOOD WAY THOUGH
@phoenix-flamed
LISTEN--
i can't believe i still have him too. 8'D but he's my boy.
me every time i come back to him:
He’s teasing. And that alone lifts Luna’s mood. In a life full of pretense and propriety, there has always been relief in whiling away her time around battle-hardened soliders who have seen far too much to bother with all the same airs and graces. They will still bow and call her highness and stand to attention when she walks in the room - but they speak to her as one of their own. And she adores it.
❝I wouldn’t go that far. I’m merely winding down after the day’s events. This place is…relaxing to me.❞ He’s young - probably too young to recall her earliest months in this city. Struggling to cope with her losses and terrified of being abandoned, the 8-year-old Oracle couldn’t be alone. Her poor guardian must’ve spent the better part of a year shadowed in his duties lest she begin crying the minute he left the room. The training halls became quite familiar to her in that time - all but her own childhood playground. ❝And for the record, my footsteps are not quiet because I am sneaking. If I were, you never would have heard me.❞
"Sneaky sneak." He has to get the last word in because of course he does, and a princess she may be, an Oracle (whatever that even means, he's just a backwater boy who doesn't know much about anything), but Harry's going to treat her the same as he'd treat anyone else. She's a person. She bleeds.
"Yeah? I guess there's worse places for it..." he replies, and he doesn't recall the little 8-year-old girl who had once run underfoot of the Glaives. He only knows the here and the now, and the woman that often finds herself in their midst.
"What can I do for you here?"
@throughthebonetrees:
❝ it’s a bad idea to sneak up on me. ❞

❝Who’s sneaking? You are merely in my path.❞
The training halls were all but her playground when she was small and new to this city; even now, she finds herself coming to this place when she wishes to clear her head. Though at this hour, it is almost always empty.
Not that she minds. There is levity enough in her tone, and her footsteps are light and carefree. Nevertheless she leans against a pillar, gesturing the Glavie onward with a feigned disposition.
❝Do not let me disrupt you. Training is important. By all means, carry on.❞
"You're sneaking, Princess." And he's teasing. "Your footsteps are so quiet, even a mouse'd have trouble hearing them."
It's late; Harry's got to wonder why she's there. Wouldn't be for the show. She could get a better show during the day, when there's more people.
"Trouble settling down?" he asks, and now he's more interested in having a conversation than hitting training dummies. Tough luck for her if she'd wanted to watch now.
Talcott pauses before the coffeemaker, patiently waiting for the glaive– Harry– to finish his words before the machine’s noises drown it all out. “That’s pretty cool,” the younger smiles once he saunters back toward the dining tables, “the magic stuff. I’ve never quite gotten the hang of magic use, and I’m envious of anyone who can control elements.” Tal muses that it’d be cool to see a mage glaive like him in action.
Seems he doesn’t mind the many words; it’s not really over-explaining, in his opinion. It always feels nice when people take time to chat with him about things that isn’t considered work. So he gently pries a little more. “Do you stick with just that element or can you use others as well?”
"It ran in my family. Mother's side, and my brothers could use it, too. Sister never developed a knack for it, but I bet she could've if the Empire hadn't cut her life short and she'd been able to learn." It was casually said, like he was talking about the weather, but that was just how Harry was. Hide it all away. He might cry about it later; the pain of losing his home and entire family was still, a million years later, raw.
The coffee is, for the moment, ditched in favor of the conversation.
"Usually just lightning, but I can do fire and ice in a pinch, if I need to. Light a campfire, ice over a puddle..." Harry shrugs.

throughthebonetrees:
To the boy’s reaction, Harry only…stares. And nudges his mug closer for that refill with an implied keep it coming. Though he’ll be sure to maybe slow it down a little…
“I don’t sleep much,” he mutters. “Coffee’s a necessity.”
Another squint, though one eye doesn’t see much more than movement and light fluctuations, so fat lot of good it did him. Still, the more he looked, the more he could just about make out a memory.
“Oh, the Hester boy, right?” Harry asks, plucking a half-remembered name out. “Oh yeah, no, I’m fine, I just…have problems sleeping. It’s fine.”
The coffee continues to flow into his cup indeed. Talcott decides to leave the pot there for the man to finish, and has half a mind to brew another two or three pots later, just in case.
“Talcott Hester, yes,” he’s surprised again at the mention of his family name– didn’t think a glaive would recall that detail about him after so long. But here he is, slightly embarrassed that he’s unable to match a name to the face. Must mean that this one’s never been part of the usual crew that he and Iris work with.
“Well, Mr. Sleepless, I guess we’re in the same boat tonight; hope you don’t mind company.” Talcott cants his head toward his own table where papers and books are strewn about, held down by his own growing collection of empty coffee cups. “Um. I’ll go get another pot going.”
Harry didn't have a knack for names and faces. He never did. Most people had to remind him a good few times what their names were before he finally got it. It was never personal, it just...was.
Hopefully the kid didn't find it upsetting. Seemed he didn't, but...
"Name's Harry," Harry volunteers with a grin that was way more tired than he wanted it to be. The mug emptied for the second time--or maybe it was the third, he's losing count--he refills it. "I was a mage in the Kingsglaive. Lightning and electricity was my specialty. ...I was usually kept in the background." A bit too many words, maybe a little too much over-explaining.
"Yeah, I don't mind. Feel free."
“These days I’m becoming everything that I hate.”
"Yeah."
That was it. Just 'yeah'. What else could he say? He knew that feeling, could feel it every time he jammed a knife into a throat only to warp away, every time he set loose a spark of electricity to fry a brain well past the point of no return, every time--
"Me too," Harry agreed, pushing his half-drank bottle toward Luche. Seemed like the man needed it more than him.
"Tough day, right? I might go static shock some newbies later. Let off a little steam."

IMAGINE DRAGONS SENTENCE STARTER - Feel free to change pronouns e.t.c.
“I’m a first-class let-down.”
“It’s been a loveless year.”
“Nobody can save me now.”
“Where did we all go wrong?”
“I’ll never be a saint, no way.”
“Oh, I’m going to mess this up.”
“I know I let you down, didn’t I?”
“I can’t be what you want me to be.”
“Everybody wants to be my enemy.”
“You can leave, now it’s your choice.”
“Come with me and we will run away!”
“Life isn’t always what you think it’d be.”
“Don’t you let them see your struggles.”
“I’m hoping that somebody pray for me.”
“I could run from it all, but I’d only get lost.”
“Tell me, how am I supposed to move on?”
“I wanna hide the truth, I wanna shelter you.”
“You gotta be so cold to make it in this world.”
“The road is long, so put the pedal into the floor.”
“These days I’m becoming everything that I hate.”
“I’m sorry for everything… Oh, everything I’ve done.”
“I can’t help you when I’m only gonna do you wrong.”
“I find it hard to say the things I want to say the most.”
“I never said that I want this, this burden came to me.”
“I know I took the path that you would never want for me.”
“Before I go, I’ll let you know, that all this time I’ve been afraid.”
“But you always knew that you’d be the one that work while they all play.”
“I’ve told a million lies but now I tell a single truth; There’s you in everything I do.”
“Can I wish on a star for another life?‘Cause it feels like I’m all on my own tonight.”
“And all these sorrows I have seen, they lead me to believe that everything’s a mess.”
“So thank you for taking a chance on me. I know it isn’t easy. But I hope to be worth it.”

Remaining silent for a moment with a thoughtful expression on his face, Sephiroth then suggested, "I think the cough syrup might be doing more harm than good right now."
Then thought some more. "What if you're leaving the footprints in your dreams?"
@calamitysshatteredson
Both of Harry's brows lifted until they nearly touched his hairline. At first, he had no idea what to say. Then he coughed, making it a point to cough in Sephiroth's general direction. "Fuck you" might have been disguised in that cough.
"Uhh...I don't know. I'll try it tonight and let you know how it goes."
"Don't follow footprints in your dreams. You'll get stuck in the dream forever, never moving forward, never moving backward, frozen...Never awakening. Lost to the world in an abyss of nonsense."
He's rambling, a little.
"It's great."
"Mmm, discount candy."
A heartbeat, piece of chocolate nearly in his mouth.
"...I just realized I don't like chocolate."
A shrug; Harry shoves the piece of chocolate into his gob anyway.
Genesis stopped from foot to foot crossing his arms. " Don't you think you are standing far too long in the window ? I thought it was my routine when heavy rain hits the window. " He muttered looking at the thoughtful silhouette. " Is there something that is bothering you since you have given your thoughts to the rain ? " [ super late weather ask is here! ]
"Uh--"
It was a tad comical how Harry's head snapped up suddenly with the intrusion of someone's voice into his thoughts, and of course he'd be caught daydreaming by none other than First Class SOLDIER Genesis. Pink flushed across his cheeks in embarrassment.
"Uh--Uh... ...How long have I been standing here?" he asked stupidly because he'd lost track of time.
"--N-No, nothing's bothering me, I was just..." He wrinkled his nose in frustration at himself. "...I was just daydreaming, I guess. Let my thoughts run away."
@tanjodos
"I hope you weren’t looking to me to be the voice of reason." ((That's it, that's where the thought ends.))
"I'd have to be looking to you for that," Harry quipped, making it a definite point to not be looking at Sephiroth.
"But if I was, then yeah, I'd be looking to you to be the voice of reason because someone has to be, and I'm shit at it."
