my totally awesome Halloween costume.
Its not right what happens, I agree, but they have a right to rp what makes them happy. Who are we to judge and deny them that right the right to rp gay ships? But I do agree with a lot of what you said.
They can RP all the gay ships they want, but not when they…
Yeah, that’s the part I agreed with, that the treatments f females is wrong. I agreed with that. But if shipping makes people happy who are we to stop them? Although I do agree that it gets a little overboard, but it brings happiness too. I am sure at some point we’ve all gone a little obsessively insane about at least one ship.
But the thing is, it's not one ship. It's a lot of ships. It's Johnlock, it's Merther, it's Destiel and Wincest, it's Hijack and Black Ice and whatever other ships people obsess over.
Like I said, there was that stupid "character type" blonde and "character type" dark-haired thing where every single pair is male/male.
It gets really irritating when post after post in fandoms are about this ship that isn't and never will be canon but they act like it is. It gets irritating when it's hard to tell what a show is actually about because all you get from the fandom is "omg look how ______ is looking at ______ they're totally gay just admit it jfc" and they treat people who don't ship their OTP like shit and act like saying "i don't like that ship" or "I don't ship it" is like saying "fuck you and your OTP your stupid ship is a piece of shit and will never happen so go fucking die oh also I did this and this and this which are all awful things and I did them to your little sister. And your unborn baby. Also I murdered your best friend".
It's the way they act about it.
They kind of remind me of the girls who practically bullied me into reading Twilight back in my Sophomore year. I said I didn't like it and you'd think I just said something vulgar to a bunch of nuns, except after their shock, they got extremely angry with me. All I said was "It was OK". I didn't even say I didn't like it. I said it was "OK".

(thank you. bless you. Im as excited as the next person but jfc. its makes it hard to reblog stuff bcs of it. i have s3 blacklisted bcs of it.)
I'm posting this to my OOC bloc
it's gotten so goddam old. At least the Merlin fandom has the grace to shut the hell up about their show ending and like other fandoms just exist, where the Sherlock fandom is just complaining.
on every
fucking
bbc show post
about their damn show not in it's next season.
THEY'RE ALREADY COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW SHORT IT WILL BE.
Each episode is the length of a fucking movie. It takes less time to watch a Disney film than to watch a Sherlock episode. They're basically releasing three or four episodes at a time. Every episode thus far were around a full hour and a half long. Including commercials, that makes each episode somewhere around two hours long.
ask-the-tooth-fairy replied to your photoset: Disney Dream Casts - Janet Devlin as Princess...
You. You are the person who finds the perfect… BEYOND PERFECT actors/actresses for people.
I honestly just get lucky for the most part XD I came across Merida when I was searching for Wendell's faceclaim way back in February, and I came across Aurora when looking for Alice's faceclaim xD Once I find more than one person who suits, like with Eric, I tend to pick out the most notable feature of the character's face (Eric's eyebrows lawl) and find the best one out of there. Originally I chose Ian Somerhalder, but because I could not remember his name for the life of me, I had to go look up the guy in the "blue eyes" section of a FC directory, and I came across three men who worked out for Eric. Brant won because of his kuh-ray-zee eyebrows.
Still, I am having fun :) I might not do many princes for a while, because they're so hard to find good pictures of. Fucking Eric.
thexredking replied to your post: For the most part, I really like the OUaT casting...
I want to see how she portrays her cause I’m really curious.
Me too; I bet she's a great actress, but she just... doesn't... look right. There's something about her face that bothers me and makes her look all wrong for Ariel to me.
answerthunderscall replied to your post: answerthunderscall replied to your photoset: My...
you did a great job! They do all look very similar. I’m terrible at choosing good alternate version FCs or family members, haha.
:D Thank! I've seen rather a lot of faceclaims lately, so... XD Mostly what I end up doing is looking for a specific facial feature (lips, in Emily's case) and run from there.
Going here and here certainly help :3
hipsterstriders reblogged your post: Something happened in Australia today I can feel...
because the prime minister of australia is a massive bag of dicks and that’s putting it lightly
wait wait this Abbott chap
is he the guy who said some asshattish remark to your previous prime minister, the woman, about something to do with I think abortions?
because his name is really familiar to me for some reason.
feliciakainzandtorishai reblogged your post: Something happened in Australia today I can feel...
what’s so bad about that?
Well, apart from it being kinda out of her character to blog stuff that I have blacklisted, I also see a lot of posts about Australia in general, another odd phenomenon.
To clarify, I have the more popular tumblr issues blacklisted because before I unfollowed 2/3 of everyone I followed last week, posts about gay rights, transphobia, sexism and feminism, and the rest of the very popular world issues tumblr talks about tended to take up a lot of my dash, and they all say the same thing more or less, even if they're stories about an individual in specific. Their stories tend to be the same as the one before it. I care about equality, I really do, but 50 repetitive tumblr posts won't change much of anything. I haven't erased them out of my saviour yet because I'd have to find them, and as it stands, the topics tend to get on my nerves, not because I disagree with them, but their repetitive nature.
From this I gathered that A) someone was elected today in Australia B) this person is most likely a man and C) he is sexist and homophobic, because nothing else could cause such a rile.
As it stands... I now know his name and I've already seen him compared to Mitt Romney.
((its really strange following someone who lives sort of nearby me cause they post about the weather and then like 5 minutes later it starts thundering and))
[ooops? you should see the radar. ;p seattle’s going to get lots and lots of fun here in a bit. xD]
ahahaha i live in seatac, but a little to the east so im right where the red is goodbye world I will miss you
#forgerextraordinaire #i leave megan my laptop #as long as she wipes it clean first
okay bby but first I'm going to mess with your tumblr. xoxoxo
Hello, person who apparently lives nearby~ I am Alicia's IRL bee-eff-eff.
yeah we had another one like a couple weeks ago too, remember? I had to run outside to get my stupid cat in the middle of it. I dont know about yesterday I was up in everett most of the day and it wasn’t really there??
. . . why the hell were you in Everett?
Don't answer that, I think I know why.
But yeah, I remember. S'weird. And there's hardly any rain.
charmingmissdarling replied to your post: ooc. [[MOR] So um…as I usually do on the…
People DON’T fight for true equality. You’ll find very few who actually do. Most people fight for minority superiority, or leave out other groups entirely, seeing it as a one on one battle. Male vs Female, black vs white, gay vs straight…
[Call me crazy but I just think if you’re going to consider yourself a feminist and you don’t believe in intersectionality or try to understand the plights of other oppressed/minority groups, then you just need to sit the fuck down and reconsider your everything. I cannot fathom the amount of ‘feminists’ who are transphobic, makes me sick to my stomach]
Feminists in general make me wanna roll my eyes half the time because everything is either sexist or feminist, there is no in-between.
well, the preachy tumblr ones feel this way.
I think people need to sit down and realise that equality doesn't mean people who are LGBTQ etc (because people get butthurt that that leaves out Asexuals, Demisexuals, Pansexuals, non-binary genders, and other groups I can't think of) are better than anyone. Equality aslo doesn't mean everyone who isn't white is better than white people, and that being a cis female doesn't make you better than a cis male.
Equality means everyone is treated equally, no matter what they were born as (and yes, I do include trans* in here because they're born with the mindset that their body is wrong, or so I understand).
Equality, true equality, to me, means someone is judged on who they are, not what they are. They're judged on their actions.
Equality means there's no privilege, except in the unavoidable monetary issue.
I take a realistic look on this, and I say that true equality will happen, but probably not in my lifetime, and it will happen in stages, plain and simple.
I was gunna explain the whole thing with Disney and why there won't be a gay lead or even canonically gay character for a really long time but that's off topic and can be summarised thus:
Disney are followers, not leaders, the end.
I mean people want everything to happen at once. Gay marriage, gender equality, the right to look like whatever in your workplace, and other things I can't think of it's half-five AM I have no idea what I'm rambling about.
I can say that Frozen comes out 21 years and 2 days after Aladdin, and 11 years exactly after Treasure Planet.
llunalovegood replied to your post: Sometimes I wish I could jsut block a certain...
[Emma Stone, Holland Roden, and Nina Dobrev are the ones that pop into my head, but reckon it differs by fandom.]
Oh yes. Karen Gillan and Jenna-Louise Coleman are nothing to scoff at either. Andrew Garfield is easily the most-used male FC I've seen.
Amanda Seyfried is used a lot, too, along with fellow blondes Candice Accola (who I've been seeing a lot of) and Dianna Agron.
I mean I can happily suggest difference FC's for people. Happily. I've seen a lot of FC's as of late, because I was hunting for them for my Wonderland group (still gotta finish the base descriptions...)
That Andrew Lee Potts (I believe that's his name) chap is popular for the March Hare. I've seen one other person used, just once, for him.
That girl what plays Daenerys is popular, too. AS Daenerys. Colin O'Donoghue is overused for Flynn Riders, but they use him as Captain Hook.
It's just lazy FC-casting. I put a fucktonne of effort into my FC's. I spend a long time finding perfect faceclaims. A simple visit to an RP help page will give you ideas. I found a perfect Disney Aurora and Merida just by going to one. I found a good Cinderella on the same page. Even got them down to the eye colour, save Aurora, since her eyes are purple. From that single site, I managed to find FC's for nearly everyone in Wonderland. People who actually resemble the animals and characters, be it in appearance from a different adaptation, or in mannerisms. I spent over a week finding ~28 faceclaims.
I spent hours on each one, amde harder because I wanted a minimal amount of white FC's, using them where I had no real choice because I didn't pick them (Alice, Hatter, and their daughter, Grace), because I couldn't think of anyone else (the White Queen and the Dodo), or because I needed a specific feature in a FC (the Flamingo mallet [pink hair], Jabberwock [beak-like nose], Cheshire [dat grin], and the Daisy [blonde hair]). Apart from them, everyone is a different ethnicity. Moreover, every single one of my white faceclaims is underused anyway, except a few as a specific character, and they're all characters people rarely RP anyway.
To have these other people just use these overused FC's because they're easy, kinda ticks me off because they're so lazy-feeling, when I spend so long finding the perfect one rather than fidning "one I like" and not bothering to try harder.
charmingmissdarling said: ((The only person I really like Nina for is Vanessa from Little Mermaid because she looks the part. I’m also v. sick of Andrew Garfield and Dianna Agron))
YES EXACTLY THAN K U THIS IS WHY ILU
people I can’t even look for other FC’s or what
Pixie Lott would be a good replacement for any Dianna Agron, because they look alike. I use Pixie for my Tinker Bell.
I'm also tired of Amanda Seyfried. I see her a lot, too. I like her as the Bimbettes, but that's about it.
There are a lot of underused faceclaims.
Karen Gillan is also not the only redheaded female on planet earth, either, Ariel RPers.
I mean I can think of very good facelclaims for Merida and Ariel, that work a lot better than Karen.
There's a lot of overused faceclaims I see that are the go-to
Nina is the go-to for brunette women
Kazza for redheaded women
Dianna and apparently Candice Accola now for blondes
Amanda for wide-eyed odd blondes
and so on. I mean I found such a perfect FC for Aurora I made a blog for her and it doesn't seem like anyone uses her for a FC for the Disney Aurora. Dreama Walker.
See:
She's even got her bloody eyebrows.
Janet Devlin not only has Merida's bluish green eyes, but her red hair is actually curly:
Janet's problem is she's not always a redhead, but most of her gifs aren't even in colour, and the ones that are, save a few, are her redheaded.
It was ridiculously easy to find these two, too. I simply went to rp-helper. That was it.
One day I might make a tiny blog for FC help for Disney muses where I suggest FCs that actually look like the fucking princesses.
I think Molly Quinn is the best choice for Ariel I've seen:
It's super hard fiding pictures of Ariel from the movie not making a weird face
apracticalperfection replied to your post: *swoons over practically perfect mary poppins...
((I SAW THAT THE OTHER DAY AND LASKDHLAKSDH IM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING BUYING YOU HAVE NO IDEA
((UGH SO AM I BECAUSE I PLAN ON BEING MARY POPPINS NEXT YEAR AND THIS IS THE E X A C T COSTUME I WANTED TO WEAR. I just need to get a different hat because that ones is like a velvet nightcap not the hat Mary Poppins wore. Like I might get the costume this year, then buy the hat, then buy the fake plants that go on it, then buy the carpet bag, then obtain the right shoes. And the wig, because I dye my hair red xD))

Thank you.
I left out a lot of fandoms/ships because I pissed off enough people >.> There is something wrong when Disney starts to look like action/adventure stories compared.
((I don’t mind when people ship and I love me some fluffy romance…in small doses. Like if that’s all you do chances are I’m unfollowing you. Like what about family, friendships and other relationships? Romance should NEVER be the end all be all of your character or characters.
Another thing I HATE HATE HATE is when people change a characters personality to fit a ship. Like a lot of times, especially with Hiccups, it feel less like the character and more like an OC with Hiccup as the faceclaim.))
((I think nothing but romance works, if your character actually like changes and develops like they would with any other character. If they just stay the same… it bugs me.
And that, my friend, is my biggest problem with Johnlock. It’s honestly impossible for Sherlock to stay in character. I never see posts about Johnlock where Sherlock is actually in character. Sherlock can’t feel real attraction to people. John was a blank slate for him to start this friend thing over with, because John knew nothing about him. John was and is just another experiment, just like everyone else.))
((Yeah, that’s one of the reasons I’m really put off by the Sherlock fandom, just all the shipping and fandom wank. Not to meniton female character hate. And being in the small, small, small minotiry who thinks BBC’s Sherlock is asexual. Personally I think any ship could be plausible IF you write well and theres sufficant chracter growth and reasons behind their actions. If it’s a ‘your hot I’m hot’ then no it’s not going to work because there isn’t any chemistry there and it’s lazy writting. ))
This is the most beautiful string of posts I’ve ever seen.
And honestly, I thought it was very obvious that BBC’s Sherlock is asexual. I don’t understand why the entire world seems convinced that he’s gay.
((Thank you kindly, stranger~ yeah we're part of that teeny tiny 2% of the fandom I expect. The other part of the 2% likes Sherlock with someone else.
People depends too much on their bloody OTPs.
Sherlock HIMSELF, the source material character, is asexual.
I once pointed out that even if John came back married and even if he had children, the Johnlock shippers would just have John abandon his wife and potential children because his "true love" is back.))
