I am a ghost woman who is looking to sort and express her thoughts and interests, most of all in philosophy, but I am a hobbyist in many things, such as art, language, architecture, politics, feminism, the occult, TTRPGs, MTG, and other assorted things.

I may figure out a system of categorization for this blog, but it will probably be a sparsely tagged mess of criticism, musings, academic articles, PDFs, and other resources I find interesting or useful.

Enjoying A Travel Guide to the Middle Ages quite a lot. Cultural anthropology like this is quite fun to me, and it gives you a lot of insight into the logistics of living in the late medieval period and the functional processes of it all. It seems so modern, but the tourism industry is quite old and had all sorts of infrastructure put in place during this time.

It is all very interesting, but I think the best thing I am getting out of it is I am going to force players in tabletop games I run to do travel logistics now. Like yes you will have to get a passport, sorry. It's a fantasy world, not a lawless wasteland, now pay up and show your papers.

Doing a brief reread of Plato's Phaedo before I skim through some of Augustine's Confessions (just certain sections) and then move onto reading Nietzsche's Ecce Homo probably. Then it would probably be appropriate to do another read through of Twilight of the Idols as a follow-up, as a debrief from all the Platonism.

Unfortunately, Fear and Trembling became so dreadfully boring that I literally just put it down and looked up spark notes for the last section of like 30 pages or so. I will probably loop back around to it eventually, but in the meantime I am going to decompress with some medieval cultural anthropology.

Woo, first time having a post get reblogged straight into TERFblr. Got reblogged by transgender man who self-identified as a "TIRF," and every account he reblogged from and was suggested in the bar were bright red terfs. He immedieately jumped to misogyny in his reblog, which is fun.

Anyways yeah so that is kinda what I mean when I say things like the terf movement is not just an insular bigotry campaign by and for cis women, some of their greatest warriors are transgender men and transmascs. Because like most of the annoying, obtuse, and hateful replies I was receiving came from transmascs doing MRA shit.

How does calling me "princess" while not addressing any point made not translate into misogynistic feminist-bashing to these men? Easy, it is because we're trans, so obviously gender dynamics cannot possibly apply.

Anyways I am locking that post, I am not going to deal with men hounding me because they are too stupid and emotional to listen to women for like 12 seconds.

I tend to auto-block anyone who posts about some ambiguous "trans unity" shit, or more specifcally if they say something along the lines of "trans men and women should just get along."

Not only is it the most banal bullshit lacking any sense of introspection or understanding about the moment we are in regarding feminism or gender politics, it is also just usually posted by a transandrophobia truther type.

A good illustration for how ridiculous these posts are is to just drop the word "trans" from it. So the post becomes "men and women should just get along," which we obviously understand as a patently absurd and ineffectual sentiment that is asks for no considerations of oppressive systems and is just saying that the oppressor and oppressed should simply make equal concessions to eachother. But somehow the word "trans" equalizes any difference between the given women and men because they are gleefully under this belief that trans women and men truly are "equally oppressed," a la the transmisogynistic adage of "we're all faggots in the eyes of the state" - the most favored and highest simplification of the intricacies of intersectionality.

Transandrodorks truly are the most dull and uninquisitive people on this site who fully and willingly lack any drive to understand systems of oppression, basic functions of the patriarchy, or really any feminist theory.

This is misogynistic name-calling and intentionally obtuse with no regard to what I am saying, how intersectionality works, basic principles of feminism, or even how male privilege works. Note: even if a transgender man does not have male privilege In The Way He Wants, he still holds privilege over the transgender woman by virtue of not being a transgender woman. That is just how class positionality works.

I should have been done reading this awhile ago, but unfortunately I am wracked with debilitating untreated ADHD and y'know was occupied with other stuff. Anyways, unfortunately, Fear and Trembling is quite dreadfully boring, or at least the first half where he endlessly polishes the helm of the spiritual and archetypal knight of christendom.

It does kinda exemplify to me why The Sickness Unto Death is seen as the holistic and finished penning of the ideas he initially puts forth within here. A lot of similar ideas of waning in and out of finitude and infinitude, standing sturdy upon the earth. It is a polemic aimed at the bourgeois philistines of the time, which he repeats that sentiment at several points throughout.

However, in all that, and due to the nature of this being much more poetic in nature, it has given me time to think about this inkling of a thought I have been having for awhile where I have been somewhat thinking of Kierkegaard as the christian foil to Nietzsche. That is not 1-to-1, obviously, but in a sense they are essentially tackling the same problem of the crisis of modernist pessimism, which is the crisis of christianity. A crisis which is defined by a waning of faith where people exist in the half-and-half, a time defined by failing atheists and christians, and it is this half-faith which leads to pessimism. The solution to it being to either become the christian knight or the faithless superman, actualized individuals.

Obviously I am in accordance with Nietzsche with this, but this is still an interesting thread to explore, so I am going to take some more time with this, especially as I approach reading more Nietzsche and doing some re-readings.

I am actually so mad at myself, I have seemingly misplaced my copy of Spinoza's Ethics. Which is ANnoying because I wanted to Reread that because it is Pertinent to Hegel because he was a major inspiration ANNNNND I wanted to refresh myself on Spinoza's moral system.

Like yeah, I know I can find a PDF really easily, but I hateeeeee digital reading, even moreso when its literally something I am supposed to have on hand. Whatever....!
