first of all do not call her maryanne unless you want a wrench thrown at your head.
thirty-two years old and the oldest cooper sister. grew up in walcott and aside from trips or drives out she’s never really left. has thought about leaving permanently more times than you’d think but has never gone through with it because she secretly needs her sisters around more so than they need her.
she’s SUPER HARDWORKING and literally works 24/7. married to her job. is anyone surprised?? she had to fight the council for her family’s garage and almost didn’t win. but mary fiercely believes the council cannot decide her future for her and so she left her position in the council to take control of her own life. duty to walcott and the cooper’s council legacy be damned. she’s made it her goal in life to dismember the council one by one. starting with all the people who believe in witches.
speaking of witches mary doesn’t believe in them. i mean w??h???y???? she has more important things to worry about. things that are real. and not the fictional villain from a disney film thanks.
mary grew up kind of as this brilliant control freak. we’re talking top of her classes, honour roll, advanced classes, etc. she ruled the school newspaper and debate team and mathletes in high school with an iron fist.
when she’s not being a crazy workaholic and abrasive and snarky BUT ALSO RLY ALLURING AND NATURALLY BABELY she can be pretty okay to be around.
she enjoys a nice glass of scotch. can probably drink you under the table. drinking is basically her second job. and we all know how dedicated she can be to work. low-key alcoholic. shh don’t tell her sisters.
she’s pretty awesome if you want a good person to talk to when you need to get things off your chest because (a) she doesn’t judge you and (b) first and foremost doesn’t care about you enough to make a big deal out of it.
mary likes people who are like her—don’t talk too much and are laid back.
she also likes mechanics because of her job and besides cars she’s also good at putting together and taking apart electronics. you could say she has a magic touch.
mary doesn’t lose her temper ever but if you cross her or her sisters she will mess you up without hesitation. *coughs* *side-eyes the council* *coughs* she’s super defensive when it comes to the ppl she cares about and doesn’t take lightly to anyone trying to start sh*t.
she gets rly annoyed by a lot of things but she’s always generally pretty polite and calm. MARY’S CHILL.
her inner commentary is pretty dry and amusing but she found out most ppl thought she was being mean which is why she just keeps her thoughts to herself now. she’s learned to just stop speaking unless necessary to stop offending ppl lol.
kind of emotionally uninterested in most things but she’s not a bad person by any means!!! just doesn’t have a strong desire to get to know ppl and tends to come across as unapproachable.
has a lot going on in her mind. very intelligent, just moderates her words most of the time.
may seem like she thinks everyone is stupid but she doesn’t. she just hates expressing emotions very often. doesn’t smile much but that doesn’t mean she’s not happy!!!
occasionally will try to be friendly and make small talk but can come off kind of cold and robotic lmao. so this probably sends ppl in the opposite direction. oops.
finds emotional displays to be bothersome and thinks ppl who have frequent outbursts of them need to better control themselves.
mostly harmless. tends to care a lot more than she’ll let on.
once you’re in her friendship zone she’s very protective and will still chide you over things that she considers silly but it doesn’t mean she doesn’t like you! she’s doing it because she cares!!!!!!!!!!
